Pros: The location is in a small valley, with some traffic, but it's off the road across the river so very quiet. Our room looked towards the back, with nice views of the mountains at the bottom of the valley, and the woods. The room is small, but really functional with lots of storage space for hiking equipment, and a good sized shower. Decor very well maintained, looks like new. Internet was fast, hot water ample, and water pressure good. Friendly and accommodating hostess, we managed to communicate via phone translation :) Generous breakfast - if you want savoury, make sure to request the local speck and cheese board, cut to order. Very good eggs (boiled) on order, and good espresso/cappuccino. The sauna is small but functional, and you can go on to the terrace to cool down in the fresh air - which you often can't do even in hotel spas, so we really appreciated it. Also excellent selection of herbal tea, frequently replenished. Overall very good experience.
Cons: The biggest issue for us was the payment. We had to do a online payment on the spot, and a separate cash payment for the sauna. The property does not have a card reader, so it took us about half an hour, and this could have been so easily done via booking.com payment (we would have gladly prepaid when booking to avoid the hassle). The sauna is located on the same floor as the rooms, so in terms of privacy it's not the best, but it was not a major issue for us. The bigger problem was arranging when to use it - once we came back at 4 pm after a hike in pouring rain, and we would have loved to warm up, but we could not contact anyone on the property for a couple hours. We hope they can devise a system to reserve the sauna more efficiently via whatsapp or similar. Another minor issue was the shower - the floor and walls are both made of some slippery plastic - not an issue for us, but a bit weird. Finally the double bed consists of two connected mattresses (very comfortable), that kept slipping off the frame - seems like the frame is made of polished wood and that causes it, probably easy to fix. Walls are on the thin side (it's a floor of a house), but everyone was quiet so not a major issue.
Pros: The standard was very high, spacious room and bathroom and brilliant breakfasts. It was great having access to the kitchen too so we could have that early morning cup of tea us Brits love. The walking in the area is superb and we will be back.
Pros: We had the warmest of welcome here! Host was very kind and generous, even offered us a drink on arrival. The room was cosy and the bed was very comfortable. Impeccably clean also. Breakfast was great and nice, private parking on site. And we loved the sweet Cat and Dog at the property! It is a pity our stay was only for one night. Thank you for everything!
Pros: a cosy room, nice-looking house, very hospitable and friendly host and a great breakfast! the village is actually in the middle of nowhere, but I liked it
Pros: This is a very welcoming place in a beautiful location. The 'nonna' even gave me a blister plaster and rang the rifugio to tell us that my husband had left his sweater behind. Helpful with local knowledge too.
Pros: Very nice house and rooms in rural style. Rich and tasty breakfast. Host was very kind and helpful. Perfect room service - bathroom and beds were cleaned every day. Good starting point for hikes from Madonna di Compiglio (Brenta Dolomites and 5 Lakes area).
Pros: We liked every single second spent there. The owner is a pearl!! She spent a lot of time with us and the kids talking and sharing her love for the place.
Cons: Everything was perfect!
Pros: Everything else!
Cons: No wifi
Pros: Very friendly staff
