The 30ºC heated swimming pool! Faded decor, expensive breakfasts, expensive Wi Fi.
Rural situation with access to heated pool all day until 10 pm. Peaceful surroundings and staff were all very helpful. Access to web via computer in foyer. Good base so we stayed an extra 2 nights.
Swinmming pool and comfortable bed and very helpful service Noise of the spa 'machinery' (particularly in the morning)
There was a strange smell pervading the whole building, resembled that of a hospital
A very quiet hotel with direct-fed pool from the thermal springs. The restaurant had a good choice of dishes at modest prices. All the staff were very pleasant, although there was one woman who locked up at 11pm who appeared to disapprove of us having a drink in the small bar area. We would have liked to have been able to have more drinks and relax, but felt that we had to return to our very hot and stuffy room as it was made very clear that we were expected to retire for the night! It was very difficult to find as the road was not recognised by our satnav. The room was very hot upon our arrival due to the fact that the shutters had been left down and the sun had been shining onto the room. The receptionist apologised for this when she opened the door! This was our only real disappointment as the room did not cool down and we had an uncomfortable night. We had the choice of leaving the shutters down all night, or raising them and being bitten by mosquitos. Air conditioning would solve this problem. We would be happy to stay there again if aircon was installed.(and maybe the bar stayed open after 11pm!)
I booked a family room for 3 children, and 3 adults. When I checked in I was informed that I needed another room that would cost 70 extra euro, bringing the total for the room to 176 euro. The room I had booked has a double bed and 2 singles, my youngest child is 3 and slept in with my wife and i, therefore nobody stayed in the room we had to have. I would not stay in the hotel again or recomend it to any of ny collegues, Not a good hotel for family.
The hotel is peaceful and relax. It suits a stop;over to break a long journey back home. We stay to go to a funeral. It was fine. The restaurant is good accommodating our vegetarian diete. We arrive at 6 pm wanting a drink, to be told that the bar does not open until 7:15 pm. This is not good service. Friend should be told to bring they ice box and other needed emergency supplies.
the setting is glorious the staff very friendly and helpful I do not think guests staying at the hotel should have to pay to use the sunbathing area which is situated through the spa area. Perhaps an alternative should be provided. Tea coffee facitlities should be availalble in each room at this calibre of hotel.
The work crew ( I.E. hotel staff) were very welcoming and friendly.please keep it that way... When welcoming guests with a smile and eye contact maintained very good. Nothing specific at the moment hence it was just a short stay...
No easy possibility to make use of their facilities like swimming pool or sauna. This had to be done via another service of the hotel.
leisure facilities difficulity accessing internet / broadband
Good location, friendly staff, large room, quiet environment, fine restaurant, breakfast buffet, parking facilities. Spa guests in bathrobe in the breakfast area.
the friendly catering staff and pleasant surroundings made for a relaxed stay during a long motoring vacation
The setting around the lake
The location of the hotel was excellent and easy to find. The lake in front gives a pleasant view and you could walk around it after a good breakfast. Easy access into town by bus or you could walk it. A very comfortable hotel.
Easy to locate. Staff efficient and helpful. My e-mail requesting confirmation of payment charged to my credit card was ignored and I did not receive a reply.
We were met by a friendly receptionist who gave us all the info we wanted at once. Facilities were, we think, worthy of another star.
Convenient and easy to find. Ideal stop over after a hard days drive down the west coast of France. Dog friendly and nice local walks with a good view over the lake. Our second but not our last stay there!
That the rooms were really clean..
The sixe of the room and the view The staff were very solemn .and un helpful and the services were not open until the times stated.
wonderful view on the Ocean few minutes away from harbour direct access to the beaches free and good internet access (bring your own Ethernet cable) free paking (outside) slightly understaffed so service at restaurant and bar is a bit long but staff always did their best.
The sea side and helpful personnel at reception. Bed room curtains too short and badly worn. I had to fix them with glue paste. This problem was well known by reception personnel.
We could not have dinner at the restaurant because of the big group. The reception did not tell us about it when we checked in. Fortunately there were restaurants near the hotel. My husband has a difficulty walking.
The position is very good and the views excellant The fridge was completely iced up, but then again I did not expect a small kitchen.
The location, interior style and the freindly staff The broken floor panels when entering the building
It is really 4 star hotel. The orchide room is excellent. The views are stunning. You can hear the waves and sand dunes. Great experience. The brekfast was fine. It's a bit difficalt to find the hotel in town. No signs. The restaraunt works for lunch till 2.00pm. - a bit strange.
Not a lot, maybe the view of the surfers from the balcony. The room was adequate but average. The restaurant was fully booked and we were told to find a restaurant in the town. It was cold and raining and my wife is disabled so looking for a restaurant was not fun.
the confort of the room and the view to the sea the indoor pool only opens at the weekends
Beautiful, tranquil location with view over the lake. Large, airy, comfortable room, friendly and helpful staff. The shower attachment was broken and there was a leak in the dining room but both are probably temporary probems and don't detract from overall quality of hotel.
Pleasant and friendly staff in a nice location. The estuary view was fantastic and was great with the kids for crabbing. No
the hotel is very well located and good value at the 40€ per night that we paid, however, we would have been disappointed had we paid the full price of 60 € +
The view from the room
the personal warm welcome of the owner and his staff and the location close to the village and close to the best beaches on a beautifull spot at the lake
The staff are excellent. The beds were uncomfortable, but for the price no complaints.
The staff was friendly , great walking area along scenic pathway . Large room . Uncomfortable Beds need to upgrade , felt budget !
The location - immediately on the waterside - was excellent. Bed linen and bathroom were clean. Overall enjoyment was spoiled by: filthy windows (difficult to see out until we cleaned them ourselves); grubby upholstery and surfaces; some light bulbs inoperative/ missing; curtains grubby and badly hung like rags across the window; curtain pulls inoperative; and lack of bath mat, in small bathroom with open shower area. No guest feedback slips available. Overall, poorly presented.
location it was in course of much needed renovation!
An item had been stolen from our room directly after having the room made up. After complaining to the front desk about this it was mysteriously returned to us the next day.
location by lake good, food excellent restaurant closed earlier than desired
Great location on lake. Expensive breakfast
The view of the room to the lake was amazing. Expensive breakfast.
A very well run hotel on the edge of Hossegor Lake with beautiful views across the lake to give south west evening sun on the balconies and in the rooms. The management were particularly helpful at all times It was as described - a 3 star hotel on the edge of town & lake.
The location is fantastic. You can walk to town or directly in front of the hotel. There is a path to jog/walk around this salt water lake connected to the ocean and you can admire the scenery at low and high tide. The service is nothing to write home about. The staff is indifferent at best. The restaurant is overpriced and so are the rooms for what you get.Bathroom fixtures are cheap, towels worn out and decoration leaves to be desired.
well situated for town centre and nearby amenities, with great view of the lagoon
Lovely location and pleasant, comfortable fit out. Drinks on terrace in the evening a real treat. Some staff were efficient but not very friendly - perhaps the result of a long season
Hotel was ideally placed for a stoppover during trip through France. Dax is a beautiful old town, lots to see. Hotel was in the centre of town, great for exploring. The bonus was, my two daughters, 6 & 3 stayed in the room for free, so only paid for a twin. Hotel could possibly be updated, and i can only comment on our room, which was a little outdated, but clean. You had to pay for the parking, but there is parking nearby for free. Food and drink seemed expensive, but then where in France isn't, so not really a complaint!
Excellent room with balcony offering views of the river. Hotel restaurant offers very good food and is reasonably priced. We were surprised at how good this hotel was for the price.
We were visiting family who live nearby. Very nice hotel, friendly atmosphere, would return there anytime. thanks for your assistance no, everything was really nice,
The hotel was absolutely beautiful but what stood out the most was the fantastic service. The man at reception ithink Robert was his name was so friendly and made us feel right at home! We will def be back!
The hotel is very quiet and in a beautiful posotion overlooking the lake. The rooms and bar area are also very well furnished and the staff most welcoming. You can walk to the beach, round the lake and into Hossegor and I'm sure it would be lovely to sit by the pool in warmer weather than we had. We ate in the hotel on the first evening and the food was not good- a bit BrakeBrothers and this put us off eating breakfast there too- it was an international buffet style which one doesn't usually eat in France as lunch follows at mid-day!They said one could eat meals there but did not stress theydid not have a chef and it was just heated up. We did pass on these comments.
Friendly staff, fresh newly renovated room, big and very confortable bed, lovely quiet location, nice terrace. Room and bathroom were a bit small for a 4 stars hotel, no place to put the suitcases, no place to put the toiletries, the furniture was lovely but made for a room twice that size, deck chairs on terrace in need of refurbishment.
The location of the hotel and friendliness of staff is outstanding. The bathroom is too small for a 4 star hotel.
The hotel is very stylish and comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The situation was excellent- right on the edge of a lake and close to the beach. It takes about fifteen minutes to walk into Hossegor which has numerous cafes and shops (mostly aimed at wealthy young surfers!)
Staff Restaurant - poor selection / value
the restaurant and the outdoor area too small for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids
This hotel is ideal for a one-night stay with our family on a holiday trip to Portugal (half-way between Belgium and Portugal)
The location in SW France is perfect for an overnight stop. The lake opposite makes it feel more relaxed. The restaurant is new and was very good. The decoration in the rooms was poor. The light fittings broken and lights did not all work. Door locks sticky. Poor for the money
excellent stuff, excellent place... The internet connection was very poor
I went surfing to hossegor and my stay was really pleasant. Great staff like family and the acommodations are great.
Wonderful hotel;Jerome and his wife and Stephanie were charming Very stylish and relaxing apart from a noisy baby by the pool Breakfast buffet was first class We will be back next year hotel should be adults only! young children can make any hotel less than relaxing
Good location. The design of the bathrooms was very poor. The shower attachment was too far from the bath, water went everywhere, which is why the surrounds of the bath were mouldy. The windows in the rooms were very small, making the room feel prison cell like. Ok for one night only...
The clean room and the nice staff The shower, the whole bathroom was wet ater taken a shower
close to sea could not get into room till 4 o clock
Very friendly staff, very clean, good views. The shower was poor with little water pressure.
Excellent room, very light and airy, with large glazed doors on two sides opening onto spacious balcony. Staff very helpful and attentive. Breakfasts very good. Both restaurants serve delicious evening meals and are very good value. The hotel a small (free) car park, and there is plenty of free on-street parking adjacent to the hotel. Usual "French Plumbing" smells and gurgling waste pipes in bathroom. Shower doors did not fit properly so that bathroom floor became wet.
Tge location and the staff
Location Shutter a bit old bathroom had steep step up to toilet which I felt could be a potential tripping hazzard
nice little town were requested to pay up front
We were satisfied during our stay in hotel. His position from railway station is very good. No
I wanted a hotel near the centre of Dax during the annual fair. The Acqs fitted the bill, and was convenient for the station - some of my party were leaving by train. The owner was welcoming, and the rooms were quiet. Th bathroom was decided tatty, and the hook for hanging up the showerhead was broken.
Reception and Restaurant Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Quality of food in restuarant exceptional. No tea/coffee facilities in rooms
Friendly and relaxed personal. Room was clean and had all the necessarities. Good place for an overnight stay. All the noice and voice from the other rooms.
