everything was excellent!!!! it is a 4 star hotel with a price of a two star....the room, the service, the cleanliness was excellent! we were planned to go to napoli, but it was kinda freaky to stay in the center of napoli, and this hotel was the perfect alternative. they even brought and picked us up from the train station that is a direct to napoli, and pompei. from pompei there's a free bus direct to mt.vesuvio. there is nothing not to like about this hotel, they even gave us a free dinner with spaghetti napolitana and that was soooooooooooooo good!
The staff at Hotel Parco is exceptional. The lady at the desk was very helpful. A member of my party left behind at the hotel an expensive Ipod music device. A call to the hotel the next day located the Ipod and it was waiting for us two days later when we were able to return to Hotel Parco to retrieve. Exceptional! The value received for the price was also very good. Highly recommended for those travelers with with a car. Quite near the excavations at Pompeii. No.
Excellent view on Vesuv and Naples Bay.The hotel is situated on the hill opposite the volcano Vesuv above the city Naples.Every evening we saw some big fireworks (we were here 3 days in September 2010) in Naples. One waitress in restaurant is speaking English very good, the rest of staff is speaking only in Italien. The standard evening programme in restaurant were various types of huges familly celebrations as confirmation, christenning party and wedding party. We were here 3 days in September 2010.It was a little bit tiring.
Breathtaking view. Very kind, caring and service- minded personel. Very Nice terrace and swimming pool ( not warmed though). Very good restaurant, many ingredients coming from their own garden. Access is by steep and narrow path. Loud events ( weddings, karaoke evening). Wifi internet works only nearby the reception. Bad TV reception. Too limited menu in the restaurant for one week.
We thought that the hotel was in a very good location overlookin the Bay of Naples and Mount Versuvius, the restaurant was very good and the food delicious. Would definitely recommend for a quiet relaxing break. There is nothing we didn't like about the hotel, the only downside was the difficulty in finding it.
The view of Vesuvius and the bay of Naples from our bedroom window was spectacular! The road to the villa was treacherous and needed a confident driver with a steady nerve to cope with the bends, potholes and especially other drivers! Google maps had directed us up a road that was purely rubble and unpassable, we eventually did a 6km detour from just a few hundred metres below the hotel to get there!
room face to the sea hotel takes 15-20 minutes walk from the taxi/bus drop off place. Nice facilities, but a little unhappy auguement with the receptionist the first day arrival.
Fine. Well situated for visiting nearly everything by train and bus.The Hotel has a free shutle bus, bringing you to and fromSorrento as well as to the railway stations nearby. Really fine service. The restaurant should offer better meals. But the breakfast really ok.
The room was spacious, modern furnishing, good working air conditioning, great shower and of course the private beach was wonderful
Very good hotel if you have car.Good price for good quality. We booked standard rooms, and received a superior rooms. Very nice staff at reception, in the restaurant and in the spa. Very good breakfast. This hotel has private parking. This pleace ist close to: Pompeji, Vezuvio,Sorento, Amalfii Coast and Neapol. If you go to Neapol take train from Vicko ( do not drive a car!!!!). Ask at reception.
The view Not really
Very helpful staff! Beautiful room and very clean! I would definitely stay there again! Very good breakfast and dinner was also delicious!
the location was good for our purpose . Sorrento , Ischia , Napoli < Pompei . Easy to find , and comfortable rooms. The food
Great location. Hotel facilities, layout and design were wonderful. The breakfast was amazing No
The front esk reception area personnel were outstanding and gave great service. I want to particularly site lia as most helpfull. Alphonse, Roberto, and Leonardo were very accommodating. The food service personnel did a terrific job including Ciro and Alphonse. They are added an immeasurable dimension to our stay. Please extend our thanks to them. The only proble for us was transportation. But all did work out well for us.
location, view, noise of the road near the hotel
Excellent location near to important ancient sites. Good views from the roof. The pool is much smaller than the pictures on the internet suggest.
Facilities. location and the room.
the view's were wonderful.........from the lobby, on the veranda, from our room..........spectacular roof top seating. we did not enjoy the food at all.
The pool was delightful, and the views were lovely. Check out time was not clearly communicated.
Friendliness of staff Kennel close to the hotel a lot of dogs barking!!!
The location is bad. Service is Extremelly poor. TV was not working. Room was not clean. Wireless internet was not working. Mini bar was empty. No room service. No restaurant around.
excellent menu of the day; staff is very helpful and friendly.
friendly and helpful staff, good facilities and decor. Very clean Only too quiet as not many people staying there. Also no sun loungers for sunbathing.
The hotel location is central and convenient to go on day trips such as to Pompeii and also to Sorrento & the Almafi coast. The location of the hotel is on the main road to Sorrento. it is a very busy road with no sidewalksand there is major construction within 5 miles which seems to back up traffic every evening. Other than the hotel the only places to eat are at least 15 minutes by car in either direction at neighboring towns. In addition the staff spoke very limited english. We had a problem with the shower but they did not speak enough english to understand the problem. A minor point is that the room is advertised with "sea view". What they don't tell you or show in the pictures is that the view just below the hotel is a ship building yard and the busy road mentioned above.
The staff was most accomodating and helpful. The location of the hotel was very good, inbetween the main train station and one of the circumvesuviana stops. It was nice that they had breakfast laid out 24-7 so you could grab a snack at any time of the day. No English-language TV channels.
Small family-run hotel. Very clean with very friendly and helpfull staff. Hotel within easy walking distance from Pompei ruins.
Pleasant room with balcony. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. Hot water not available until 7 am - had some cold showers!
best thing about the hotel was the excellent location, walking distance from the pompei ruins
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, particularly good with children. They really couldn't do any more to make us feel welcome. The rooms could be noisy at night time.
Nice large rooms, friendly staff, excellent breakfast. Hard to locate, even in the small city of Pompei.
Friendly, helpful staff, free wireless internet, large room only one staff member spoke some english which for my husband and I, who are American, made asking questions about how to see the historic sights and getting directions difficult but not impossible. We did manage to see everything we had planned to see.
The hotel staff members were very kind and kindly answered all our questions
It is a fair deal for the price. I recommend it to those coming to visit Pompei on a tight budget. Yes, the douche was leaking water but the bathroom was very clean and nice.
Staff was fantastic. Man at desk spoke good English. Was helpful, gave ideas for touring, restaurants, etc. Let us use computer when ours was broken to check with family. Made sure parking was taken care of, gave extra food with breakfast with encouragement to "Manga!" (EAT!) It is a hostel, not the Ritz. What we expected.
Wonderful dekor- beautiful surrondings. Thats it ! They are living on tours and big weddings. They are not used to have normal hotelguests.
Very helpful and happy staff, and the many things to look at whilst there. All Good.
We had enjoyed our stay in Grand Hotel La Sonrisa so much that at the end we just did not want to leave! Beautiful, comfortable hotel with big rooms and lovely pool area and garden. Very clean, very stylish and very friendly staff. The service was excellent.
Room was comfortable and clean Overall very tacky with no substance. Grandure at a distance,up close very disapointing. Poor staff service, Jacuzzi did not work, toilet not working but fixed hours after arriving, Pool not available due to wedding party. Not to be recommended as a hotel by an means.
Charming staff, comfortable accommodation, incredibly different from the norm, quite kitch in a good way. Over the top, but one of the most amazing hotels we have ever stayed in. Would definitely recommend it to others. Quite an experience. Live groups/music on both sides of the restaurant in the evening. It was difficult to hear ourselves talk, but not a big issue.
The Hotel itself -Old fashioned Grand Hotel -very unique Too much decoration-in the middle of nowhere without roadsigns breakfast :cold eggs
As mr. Polese said: At our hotel we don't welcome only aristocrats, we treat everyone like a king, it's trough.
The staff tried hard to accommodate us. The main purpose of the hotel seems to be as a wedding venue and the noise on the Saturday and Sunday nights was intolerable. The grounds are very poor, small and nowhere for children to play. The pool was dirty and closed off. Although the staff were friendly, the restaurant had a very limited choice, and we only ate there once, the breakfasts were very basic. Not 5 stars!
The rooms were incredible to look at, the grounds were great, and horses grazing were great. The pool was pretty. We found a great place to eat it was called Carmansitas, if you come out of the hotel and take a right it is 2 miles up the road on the left. Menu is in Italain however food was incredible. Almost every dish is 6 euros or less. The staff was not very friendly, except for Danny, he was great. The beds in the Luxury rooms were very hard and very uncomfortable. The refrigerator never stayed cold, and it was very hard to get a outside line.
good breakfast, good parking, delicious restaurant across the street 1) centre-hotel waling distance a bit large, and through a dessertic zone, which may not be pleasant at night; 2) not 4 stars worth it based on the room quality, but rather a 3 or 3+
The hotel is close to the city centre and the historic remains of Pompei are within walking distance. The staff were friendly and very helpful.
very good hotel, situated in a strategic position to visit the city and the other tourist resorts; they gave us free parking for the Pompeii Ruins. Excellent services, confortable rooms and very friendly staff. we suggest it.
Friendly Staff Bit out of the way, good job we had the car
kindness and helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms , the location near the center and not noisy, the new structure, modern and welcoming, the restaurant where we ate excellent grilled fish. also gave us free parking for the pompeii ruins. We also return because the hotel is located near the motorway and we were able to arrive to Naples and Sorrento without going crazy to find your way. Very good.
The personnel was very kind and helpful. The internet connection in the room was free and worked very well all the time. The breakfast was ok. The hotel was peaceful with a little garden. About 1 km to the Pompei scaves. The receptionist took us to the railway station when we left the hotel without asking it, very kind! (And I forgot tip...) Cheese and ham were in warm plate during the breakfast time and seemed nothing but fresh.
Welcoming and service was very good The location is up hill in small town, you mast have car
Lovely good quality hotel with beautiful views. Staff very helpful and friendly. Facilities excellent good position for Pompei and Herculaeum. The continental breakfast is very basic and could be improved.
Beautiful hotel, beautiful room and view. Clean and very comfortable hotel, very good breakfast and coffee. Friendly staff and hotel owner. Poor dinner possibilities. Bathroom floor wet after showering, English of receptionists and waiters could be better.
Swimming pool, view to Vesuvius, kitchen, nice garden, friendly staff ! General manager Luciano Annunziata !! Everything was ok!
This is a comfortable, modern, spotlessly maintained smaller hotel a few miles above Pompeii. It may be unique in that it manages to give you a grand view on both the bay of Naples and mount Vesuvius at the same time. The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are spacious, an inviting terrace with swimming pool and ample space for breakfast extends around the structure. While you can get there to/from Pompeii or Ercolano in a matter of minutes, the use of a GPS is advised. If you call off season, if it is late and the manager suggests a dinner at the hotel, accept it. Don't let him, however, advise you about everything you are going to eat and drink, without ever showing you a price list (which he knows how to do admirably - and illegally), ask for the menu.
I was impressed with the thought and styling throughout of the seating areas, terraces, & swimming pool. The bathroom/double room with a wrap around balcony, was large with views of Mount Vesuvius from the bedroom, and another of the Trecase and the sea. The restaurant's picture windows, provided stunning panoramas. I thought the restaurant did not warrant the prices charged.
fresh prepared orange juice excellennt bar nibbles
superb hotel with a lovely garden and swimming pool, friendly staff, not far away from the vesuvius, pompei and naples (by car) castellamare di stabia is not the place to be, the hotel is an oasis in a poor neighbourhood
very friendly staff and welcoming, lovely room exellent views great location, great food, very relaxing no
beautiful hotel with terraces and palm trees, staff very kind and helpfull the area is not so nice
Hospitality, attentivenes of staff, great garden and view over Vesuvio
I could find no fault at all with the hotel. For us it was excellent. N/A
Amazing staff, the comments on the other reviews are so true, Maria, Antonio thank u, u were wonderful. Francesco too for ur help. This hotel really should be five star, its service & facilities certainly are. I'd consider us to be experienced traveler's, this hotel surpassed all my expectations. You need a car.
The hotel is surrounded by a beautyfully decorated garden/parc, The stuff of La Medusa is very friendly and helpfull. Evrything in this hotel is excellent, well-cared and well decorated. They have a Vantaxi, which is not too expensive. Traffic in Napoli and in the different towns on the Amalfi coast is especially tiring. A good solution is to take the Vantaxi from the Hotel to go to the station of Castellammare di Stabia. The food is very good and you can ask for special italian preparations. We liked it!
Perfect for breaking trip between Airport and Amalfi Coast - close to Pompey and Road - good pool to cool off in. Endearing staff tried hard. Not really - it's big and a bit formal - but that is part of it's charm.
the food was excellent, staff was friendly and spoke english. we slept above the restaurant and in the morning the staff was sometimes a bit loud.
The garden is really beautiful, but everything else needs a face lift. This place is in the middle of nowhere! If you like wildlife and mountains then go for it, but otherwise it will not work. We booked it because it had a swimming pool and we thought the location is nice. At the end of our stay we never used the pool as we left the place early in the morning and came back after midnight. The garden is really nice, but the rooms are crappy. Pur friends had a big room which smelled strange and our room was small and smelled strange as well. the walls are made of paper as we could hear everything - but everything - happening in the rooms next or below us. I did not like the breakfast either as it was served inside and not in the graden even though it was summer and we were told where to sit.
Hotel Stabia provided an excellent service, friendly, professional with VIP treatment. It was relaxing and welcoming from the first day to the last, the staff are exceptional and I thank them all for such a pleasurable stay and look forward in staying with them in the future. The shower cubical could be a little larger and the shower head would have been better if it was adjustable for washing hair.
It is a good quality hotel with very helpful staff
centered location and that's it, unfortunately.... The staff in the restaurant are not professional at all, the towels and sheets were so old which was terrible, stuffy bathroom and very odd 70 years old TV set. Quite weird thing for the 4 stars hotel....a big delusion....
I liked pretty much everything about it. It was clean, comfortable and affordable. We could have stayed at a more expensive place, but we figured we would use the room to sleep and get cleaned up. The rest of the time would be spent sightseeing. The breakfast was a typical small Italian breakfast. Just coffee and a croissant. The ones are very nice and although there was a bit of a language barrier, we had no trouble communicating. I highly recommend this place for someone looking for a clean comfortable place without all of the amenities of a big hotel. We arrived about 3.5 hours before the check in time and figured we would just leave our bags and go sightseeing. The place is accessible through a locked gate with an intercom. Unfortunately, no one was there and we had to sit at the corner cafe for a few hours. As I stood outside the gate trying to call them, I could hear their phone ringing inside. So, I knew they were not there. Eventually someone answered and let us in.
The grounds were pretty but were full of wedding guests We checked out after one night because there was a wedding reception which took over all of the hotel and grounds. We could not use the swimming pool, relax in the grounds or eat dinner there unless it was a few feet from the wedding reception where the noise was phenomenal. They would not allow us to eat anywhere else. Very few good restaurants nearby which made this very inconvenient. Noise did not stop until late. There was another wedding the following day so we checked out and had to find alternative accommodation. No reduction was offered for the inconvenience.
Had a very nice and large room with a big balcony. The hotel is very often used for weddings or other celebrations. The location of the hotel is rather noisy.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is a luxury hotel and very clean. We stayed at this hotel because of its location, i.e. close to family. The hotel appears to be set up as a function hotel catering for weddings as there main business with at least one wedding every day of our stay. For most of our stay we were the only guests.
Especially front staff is very friendly and support full. And you can get the information of nearest ferry station to the Capri island. On the top of the roof, there is terrace where you can see the wide view of Napoli city. During my stay, I can see the fire works which was held as a wedding ceremony celebration. The place where breakfast is served is under the ground floor, so I could not enjoy the atmosphere of outside air, which disappointed me first. But you can bring the food outside where table and chairs are settled. Secondary quality of breakfast is not so great as for example hotel at the Firenze, it is just served toast and some hams, beacons, fruit and other.
Good location for visiting Pompeii; good value.
Beautiful luxury hotel. Staff were fantastic, very attentive and polite. Room was very spacious and clean with huge balcony overlooking the lovely gardens. Location was good for Pompeii (5-10 min drive). Situated in a residential location, so no bars/restarants within easy walk, however, very nice hotel restaurant, which seemed to open just for us, apparently their only guests that night.
The best thing about the hotel was its proximity to the main entrance to Pompei, Porta Marina and to the train station. For visitors who stay only for a night or two and with the precise objective of visiting the excavations and maybe going up on the vulcano it is ideal. The staff was very helpful, I needed something at 3 am and somebody was there, very curteous. They also are connected to a very nice pizzeria that delivers at the hotel a delicious pizza, much better than many we have tasted during our stay in Italy. Breakfast was decent, but no more. Air conditioning worked well. Bathroom was clean and nice enough. Our room was very noisy, as the windows overlooked the main road. I couldn't sleep very well.
