Great location near Gubbio. Better if you have a car. Great place, beautifully restored. Excellent instalations and rooms, very modern hotel situated at countryside near Gubbio with a wonderfull view of the valleys surrounding it. I definitively recomend to stay at this hotel. The best hotel i stayed in Italy. Be carefull with your GPS instructions as the hotel is in the countryside, with small roads surrounding it.
The facility is spotless, nearly new, and surrounded by the most beautiful countryside in Italy. The exterior is faux-rustic, but the interior is cool Italian contemporary design, a delightful juxtaposition. Breakfast was wonderful, the best I enjoyed in four weeks of staying in B&Bs in Italy. I visited in mid-May, and the resort's restaurant and pool were not yet open for the season.
Exellent!! According to the description on booking.com the hotel has a restaurant. This is true but when we visited it was closed except in the weekend.
Romantic enchanted Castle in beautiful town, right in the center of ancient Middle Ages town No parking near the hotel, free parking 10 min walk from hotel, you can stop by hotel to load/unload. staff gladly helps
We liked everything:the comfort, the gardens, the location, the breakfast and the help from the lady at the desk. We liked everything.
Hotel with a genuine atmosphere. Very friendly and forthcoming personnel. Nothing
Comfortable hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast by Italian standards.
excellent location and wonderful room with an amazing view
very good central location we were not warned of the fact that our arrival coincided with a festival and it was a nightmare getting to the hotel as streets were blocked off
The central location
The location in te town centre was excellent. The room had stunning views. The hotel has lovely gardens. It was great having breakfast out in the Piazza Grande. The hotel was excellent value for money.
unbeatable location. Very charming place. Friendly and attentive staff. Good breakfast with freshly made cakes and hot drinks from the bar nearby. A lovely place overall. Water temperature keeps changing during shower, to anything from cold to very hot.
very nice location very dark and too many stairs to the room.
Extremely helpful staff! The restaurant staff also provided fantastic (and gluten free!) food. A beautiful hotel.
The staff was superb; always helpful, gracious and accommodating. The nicest hotel staff during our stay in Italy and this was my 6th visit to the country. Our bathroom was extremely small for three people to use. The bathtub was very small with only a hand held shower. Other bathrooms were larger, so I would suggest to future travelers to request a room with a spacious bathroom.
Very good value for money. Very nice hotel. What a view... Perfect location. We would recommend this hotel to everyone.
Lovely hotel - helpful staff, balcony with beautiful views, family suite excellent, wouldn`t recommend the restaurant (very slow & chaotic service).
The location was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful We were not immediately issued with a controller for the air conditioning and had to ask for it when we returned in the evening
attentive staff, lovely rooms, great central location
The friendly staff A little dark
The suite was lovely, and the breakfast was very good. The staff was very helpful, and kindly spoke English for us.
Fantastic hotel with excellent service. We stayed in one of the 2 Renaissance Suites with large fresco paitings and it was fantastic to wake up in the morning and see these fantastic paintings above your head.We had 2 wonderful days in this hotel and the charmiming village of Gubbio. The restaurant Bosone Garden is also very nice with very good service and good local food. This is really a hotel if you search for something different/exclusive and once in a lifetime experience. Nothing
Fantastic location, welcoming and caring staff, beautiful and sensitive castle conversion, very comfortable room, wonderful restaurant. Nothing.
It was a great break after visiting Rome and before Florence. Was especially nice to relax by the pool, surrounded by hills. The dinner was delicious. The last evening we also had the pleasure to meet the owner, who came to have coffee with us. We would go back any time. Great place!
Set in beautiful Umbrian countryside, the hotel was an oasis of peace. Beautiful swimming pool, very friendly and helpful staff. Lucia was especially kind. Food was well prepared though the menu was a little restrictive.
A very lovely welcome and personal service. We had an absolutely delightful time staying here
The views looking down from the road as one approaches Petroia are breathtaking....our room was cozy and warm with a nice view outside.....Carlos was most friendly and made every attempt to make us feel welcome..I Highly recommend this property. Nothing
The castle itself, the room, the beautiful environment. Very quiet and relaxing. No
Excellent service, comfortable room, beutiful position, unique site.lease write at least 15 words Restaurant menu repetitive if staying for a few nights
It is an amazingly beautiful hotel w/ great amenities. The extras
Got an incredibly low internet rate which more than halved the cost of staying. It is a beautiful hotel with fantastic public rooms and one of the nicest restaurants I have ever been in Just one small issue - tried to make a reservation via phone for dinner but was kept waiting for 3 minutes and then somoene at the other end finally put the phone down! But generally it was incredible for the money we paid.
The setting amongst the trees was good. Breakfasts were excellent and the dining room also very good. Strong smell in the room - old cigarette smoke or old wood (something like that) that permeated all the furnishings and a very dated decor in the rooms - typcial American/Italian style.
Location, nice breakfast There is an internet fee, which is a pain in such an expensive hotel, but I think it is common in Italy, and the hotel also charges for the jacuzzi and sauna, the restaurant is out of style
Good position with very helpful staff. Breakfast very good (for italy) the bells on the church just outside our window rang every 15 minutes making sleep difficult. Shutters on the windo od room 486 would have helped.
It was a beautiful place When we arrived (2pm) it was closed, although the staff arrived shortly. The bathroom does not have shower facilities, only bathtub... we missed the shower.
It was well located. Room was good. Staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very basic but then it is a 3 star so probably appropriate. Downside was the constant chiming of the clock and tolling of church bells and the foot traffic below my room which made sleeping difficult.
Overall impression ok Lack of comfort in the reception area (e.g. a table where you could play with bad weather).
The hotel is a small hotel in the heart of the city inside the walls. You can walk to everything. Your car must be parked about 70 meters away where you can pay 8 Euros a day or after unloading your luggage you can park for free near the Roman theater ruins (about a 5 minute walk). The staff was very friendly and helpful. Everything they recommended was great The room we had was small but breakfasts were very good and the price was unbeatable. The only reason we checked good instead of excellent for comfort is because our room was small. The bed was comfortable. The lighting was good. There was a phone in the room and an en suite bathroom.
very friendly staff, very good room for the price, good location
Very nice stuff and excellent location
Nice hotel in a good location. I would prefer stone floor instead of carpet, to prevent allergies.
The breakfast was delicious, the room was spacious and warm, the bathroom was very clean. The hotel owner/manager was very friendly and helpful. The night person who checked us in was not very friendly. However, the hotel owner/manager was VERY friendly.
Clean rooms, panoramic view, internet in the rooms Faro Rosso isn't actually a hotel. It's a well-known rural domain, especially for the locals who drive in en out all the time. The photo's you see are not realistic. For example the swimming pool isn't a hotelpool, but a club where all the locals (especially youngsters - schoolkids) visit the public pool (entrance 5 euro) jump in the water all the time with a lot of noise. Forget the tranquility of the nature... . At the reception they don't know nothing about hiking and cycling, although they mention this in their brochure. As hotelguests we had dinner in the restaurant, but had to pay 6 euro for the "bread & coperto" ! As a external visitor, OK, but as hotelguests ?? Faro Rosso is a complex where hotelguests are not priority to the staff
quiet location beautiful views over Gubbio plenty of scope for walking in countryside and able to visit places of interest by car on relatively quiet roads was not a problem for us but may have been for families no mention when booking that swimming pool was being renovated so was closed ? when will reopen
Wonderful location, good food. Accommodation area entrance and stairwell a bit bleak. Bedroom smelt strongly of bleach.
