Room comfortable and spacious. Excellent breakfast. Location in the forest at a road junction and by the station for the Brocken steam railway.
Credit cards not accepted for payment. This seems backward in this day and age.
Nice room and location. Good breakfast.
Expensive for what you get. Dinner was terrible and staff is not nice.
The basics are there; big hotel, restaurant with good food, a bar, beautiful countryside and next to the Harz railway station. I've added some honest feedback based on our stay but I'm certainly not upset and I would stay there again. It's just that you need do your preparation to get the best out of the hotel and location.
It is the only building in the vicinity and so once you are there, that's it for the day. We went for a walk but didn't see any information about where to walk. The staff we met at the hotel didn't speak English (not a criticism) and we don't speak German (our fault), so we were relying on written information in English but we didn't see any. Once we'd finished in the restaurant we thought about using the bar but it didn't look open. We also found that our credit cards were not acceptable. I would use the hotel again but I would do more research before staying and learn some German!
Convenient parking, quiet overnight and good food.
The location of the hotel and thats all ...
This could be a nice place, but it requires more service and friendliness from the staff and the manager. The rooms are good and the location good. Breakfast almost ok, but a good tip is to drive to Wernigerode or Shierke for dinner, unless you like "heavy German food". Stayed here for a week and have previously stayed here. The quality of the hotel is downward. I will definitely avoid this hotel in the future - regardless its good location. BIG BIG problem that the hotel don't accept international creditcard VISA! :-(
