A typical family run German hotel friendly full of locals with good food and hospitality. Good value all round no
The hotel was quite pleasant, the room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was alright. The owners were friendly and agreed to resolve a problem with an incorrect bill.
The hotel was very comfortable, charming old-world, traditional Bavarian feel to it. We foolishly locked ourselves out of room with key on inside of door - necessitated removing the whole lock - staff couldn't have been more pleasant and more helpful, when they could have been very cross about it!
Very spacious and comfortable room. Josef and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a very pleasant stay here.
Comfortable well run hotel in pleasant village. Good food in restaurant.
Smiling people, clerness of our rooms, internet access No accept credit cards. It was indicated that it is possible to pay with credit card, none of the credit card terminals was functioning. Unfortunately the staff did not speak English, the communication was therefore difficult as we have problems. Next answers are yes, if next time credit cardsmachineis ok. It is big problem and finally coming more expensive money for clients. Rate is not good after that.
Our room was excellent...a very large apartment on the top floor, and the owners are incredibly kind. They run the restaurant downstairs, which is the hopping place in town, mainly because it has the best German food I have ever had. Parking is a little tight at the hotel itself, but you are in a very small town, so there is no problem finding alternatives. Breakfast was great too. The apartment had a kitchen, but the door to it was locked. When we asked for a key, we were told that there was not one. We were not looking to cook, but it would have been nice to use the coffee maker and the refrigerator to keep beverages cold. Plus, the room advertised a kitchen.
Rare hospitality, excellent value for money, warm atmoshere, not touched by "mass-tourism" syndrom. Pure bavarian traditions. On booking.com it was stated that hotel is 39.4km away from Innsbruck. Unfortunatelly, it is 80km away from Innsbruck.
The authentic Bavarian quality. Good hotel, great staff and food and drink of exceptional quality. A very lucky find in a very nice village and well located to the road network. None.
Dear Madams and sirs, I would like to thank you for your kindness and understanding. Indeed my stay at your hotel has been beyond delightful and very relaxing which helped me a lot facing the situation that is now occurring. You have made my stay here in Murnau very pleasant and much easier. Furthermore i spent a wonderful new year thanks to your manager and his team. Last but not least, i would like to stress on the fact that your hotel is very comforting and well organized. It has top quality service and it has been a very welcoming place. I look forward to my next stay in your hotel. Yours sincerely, Mr. Salem Al Zaabi
The Alpenhof hotel is a great hotel set in lovely countryside and close to most of the main attractions in southwest Baveria. The hotel staff were very helpful and wellcoming, we were offered a glass of champagne on arrival which was very welcome. The hotel has two good restaurants , 1 mitchellin rated but the local town of Murnau offers several other restaurants. There was a small minibar of beer and soft drinks included in the room price. The spar facilities are excellent, indeed the best I have seen in a hotel. So if you are looking for a relaxing break with a touch of luxury this is a hotel worth considering. The beds are very firm and not the type of luxury beds you would expect from a 5star hotel
Staff were very helpful. The restaurant was frequented by annoying insects (e.g. flies). The staff explained that this happens in spring time.
Real luxury hotel with good restaurant and very friendly staff, nice view of the mountains. Good swimming pool and spa.
The friendlyness of staff and the surroundings. Clearly this hotel does not meet the standards of SLH: it is neither small nor luxury. The furniture and decoration in the room and in the restaurant/lobby is old fashioned and used. The swimming pool has not been redone for ages. This hotel urgently needs to be refurbished and modernised. Overpriced!
The spa facilities are excellent
Nice location (rooms to the public park); good opportunities for walking/hiking; very decent food; kind staff, very responsive to our needs ---
Lovely and friendly evening receptionist..wow!! No it was perfect for my needs! I'd stay again withour hesitation.
Visited the Castle Museum to see the collection of paintings by Gabrielle Munter, and walk around the town and to the Staffelsee. I thought I was locked out when returning around 10.30pm, until I was shown by someone in the brauhaus of the other staircase to gain entry!
Up to date, tastefully furnished room and bath. Right on the lively main street, but quiet. Nice selection of restaurant/courtyard beer garden. Helpful, friendly staff. If you are looking for green landscapes, scenery and relaxation, this hotel is not for you
It was like an old family house, unlike many modern hotels. Nice views, nice feel, nice staff. Food was good too. Would like to stay again. Nichts.
It's so far from a city noise There are no service in the Kochel
Wonderful position by the lake, superb views No lifts, no bar for pre or post dinner drinks, rooms extremely cramped, too far out of town to walk to any other hotel or bar
The situation overlooking the lake is excellent. This applied to both the restaurant and our room. Ideal spot for an overnight stay whilst we were en route to Oberammergau just 30 minutes drive away.
We enjoyed the views, the welness center, the restaurant and a nice walk around Kochel
This is a genuine Bavarian family-owned hotel and it has bags of character as well as comfort (and an excellent restaurant). English is spoken though a bit of German helps.
The view was beautiful & it was a very relaxing, peaceful place to stay.
The setting was gorgeous - the views over the lake were beautiful. There was also a really nice sauna and steam room. The staff were friendly - particularly our cleaning lady and the head waiter/ receptionist. The food was good too. The decor was quite 1970s but that was part of the character of the hotel. It was very clean and comfortable.
Wonderful stay at Seehotel. The staff were wonderful and we found the rooms very large and comfortable. We booked a room with a balcony and although the balcony was tiny it was well worth it for the beautiful view over the lake. The restaurant was great with beautiful views over the lake. No complaints at all with this hotel. Again, the staff were such a pleasure and we would absolutely stay here again.
The view was awesome, the morning breakfast was special due to our morning ritual of having our very own table, #42, the place settings were neat, reminded my wife of her time with her grandparents... The bed was kinda different, had a slit in the middle, kinda made it hard for my wife and I to, ya know, enjoy cuddling but we thoroughly enjoyed our time. The bathroom was tiny but again, we made it work...
Nice location. Great staff who are all friendly and helpful. They made us feel at home and very welcome. The heater and towel warmer seemed to be on a timer as they didn't work early in the morning. It would be great if they had one computer for guest usage as casual travelers don't tend to bring laptops. I find late night at the hotel is a great time to check on bills and email.
The location is a bit far from Munich center but an hour by train. It is between little mountains, quite and very green area. Wonderful for families and relaxing. Nice breakfast with full range of foods. All traditional. But make sure that your rooms are really booked for you and tell them how many rooms you are booked. Booking.com can surprise you in a bad manner.
Staff made my friend and I very comfortable.Lovely location, warm, welcoming and modern hotel. Having excellent wi-fi access and a good sized desk in the bedroom was a real plus. Hope to go back again some day and spend longer. A more modern t.v. in the room would really set this hotel apart! Maybe a slightly larger single bed as I kept hitting my head on the wooden wall panel during the night.
The staff is lovely and very helpful and accomodating. The food was great. Our room overlooked the back gravel parking lot, garage and roof of the addition. It really took away from the beautiful sceney. Obviously you have to have a garage and parking lot and roof top, but these areas could be made to look a little nicer. The dining room looks a bit dated.
The beautiful scenery, the friendly staff, and the reasonable prices.
Great location - very reasonably priced
the location is wonderful
Very nice single room, very nice breakfast buffet, very friendly staff, excellent quality/price ratio. Only negative point: Unreachable without a car, quite isolated.
I particularly liked the pool and the infrarot cabin. Nice additional facility.
excellent breakfast little english spoken
much to like, little to not like. Small alpine village atmosphere with cows grazing down the street, Clean, clean clean!!!!
Friendly helpful staff and local people
The swimming-pool and sauna facilities were fantastic and brought a great relaxing touch to the hotel.
It was centrally located, great breakfast, friendly atmosphere.
An excellent hotel run by a very attentive family.
Friendly staff, nice view from our balcony.
The hotel staff was very kind to us. The breakfast was excellent. I also liked the typical-German style design of the hotel. It met my expectations. It is also very close to Kochel rail station.
