Gästehaus Denk - Wosendorf - Building

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very clean room, beautiful landscape around the guest house, very friendly hosts.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A great place to stay. The hosts were very welcoming, and could not have been more helpful. The room we had was large and comfortable. Breakfast was fresh, with home made bread and preserves in addintion to meats and cheese.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host was really nice to us and the breakfast was excellent!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The guesthouse is a little gem situated between Melk and Krems in a quaint and quiet village. The house is newer, just ten years old, with modern features. Our room was decent sized, basic and very clean with a view overlooking the vineyards and pretty countryside. Our bathroom was so immaculately clean that we assumed it was brand new. The shower was strong and hot but bring your own soap and shampoos. Breakfast was a nice continental spread, beautifully presented, offering bread, cheeses, meats, fresh fruit, yogurt, coffee, tea, juice, and egg along with homemade apricot and grape jams. Do not worry at all about the train tracks behind the house. You likely will not see a single train and you will not hear any. We found the tracks to be quite quaint and photo worthy, complementing the picturesque countryside. The hosts and their family live in the house so are available to assist in any way to ensure you have a pleasant stay. While we stayed, the other guests were all respectful of others but you could hear voices through the walls as well as general goings on of family life. It was very quiet for sleeping. We had a nice stay here and would be happy to return.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nice, clean room. Friendly staff. Good breakfast.
Cons: At least a small fridge in the room, would be great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet hotel with very friendly and hospitable owners. It is located on the outskirts of Wossendorf - our room windows were looking out onto the railway, and immediately behind it was the vineyards. This is a great starting point for walking. The train goes only in a the day and very rarely, we heard it only once during the breakfast, the rest of the time we went out. I liked the figures from the towels in the room, from fruits and napkins - at breakfast - it really makes you feel better in a moment. Nice little thing - a bottle of water in the room. The bed is wide and very comfortable, the bathroom and shower cabin are spacious, there is a hairdryer in the bathroom. We speak German badly, but there were no problems with communication in English. Breakfast is served in advance - plates, glasses and others are already on the tables when you go into the dinning room. It was a bit unusual for us. There was no feeling that we were at the hotel, rather, at our friends' home. We plan to come there more than once.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location with views of wineries, right off the Danube Bike Path. The owners were amazing super hosts that made is feel at home and made sure our stay was exceptional.
Cons: Wifi was spotty.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Anna‘s guest house is just located by the Donau River, where you can sit in the nice and comfy chairs either in the garden just by the river, or on the balcony outside the room to look over the river. The scenary is breathtaking. You may enjoy the sunrise and sunset with peace of mind. Anna and her husband and sons are all very kind and attentive. Provides all information you may need to travel around. The historical Kremstien with medieval time archie style houses all over the town, the catsle ruins on the top of the mountain look over the Donau river, where has the best view of the best in Wachau, and the lake area town on our way to Saltzberg. All of their advices have been the highlights of our trip this time. My parents really enjoyed this part very much. Breakfast in Anna's place was very abundant and well prepared. With a very well decorated and equipped breakfast room, there are many choices of bread, cheese (Cottage, Camebert/Brie, and other two varieties), famous apricot jam and fig jam, meats and freshly picked veges, yorgout and cereals, etc. Eggs are boiled exactly to the right tender and runniness. The host couple are wine lovers, and they are experts to share information of wine, winery, wine tour, etc. The guest house was very clean and except for a little inconvient of carrying big luggages to the upstairs without a lift, everything else was just so great! Will recommend Anna's guest house to friends for sure!
Cons: If there is a lift, just for the luggage, that will be perfect.

The room was clean and spacious and the shower had plenty of hot water and good pressure. Breakfast was very good. There was a nice patio area where we could sit and enjoy local wine and beer which could be purchased at a very rereasonable price. They provided free bicycles and we rode on the cycle path to Krems and took one of the river boats back, which we would definitely recommend.
Cons: The bed was a little firm and the pillows a little soft for our taste.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location with great views over the Danube and of Melk Abbey. We stayed here for the recent Ironman 70.3 in St Polten (which is a 20-25 minute drive) and the owners couldn’t have been more helpful. They provided a safe place for us to keep our bikes and went out of there way to provide us breakfast at 4:30 on race morning. The town itself has a couple of restaurants and bars whilst Melk is only a 5 minute drive away.
Cons: Nothing

Cons: Because we did not have car , we had to walk to town , which meant a 15 minute walk going down a big hill and then walking back up that hill upon our return . 7.5 Good
Pros: Location. Breakfast was ok
Cons: We waited in front of the gate for 10 min. It was not clear what to do, door was locked, we needed to ring twice and wait till somebody showed up. Owner was not welcoming, asked why we ringed the bell. Nothing i would have expected from a 4 stars hotel. They give you a key and you should unlock/lock all the doors, when you go out. We booked a suit with a view but it was looking at a street and it was noisy so don’t spend extra money on suit.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful old house with charm, great location and good choice of breakfast.
Cons: Unfortunatelly there is no air conditioning in the house, so during the hot summer days we had two unbearably hot nights. One side of the building faces a street as well with some noise.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We could stay until lunch lime - late check out! That was very much appreciated!! Thank you!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved this hotel located in the small village of Spitz. The staff (Elizabeth was our staff) were friendly and very helpful. The patio overlooking the vineyard and orchard was so relaxing. We enjoyed having their exceptional breakfast on this patio. There was wine and lively glasses to enjoy it in self serve. We did not want to leave. Easy to ride a bike one day to Melk and another day to Durnstein.
Cons: There was nothing that we did not love.
7.5 Good
Cons: It is a pet friendy hotel. Which would not be a problem, if the room would be properly vacuumed. But we found a dog fur on the sofa (clumps of dog hair) and on the carpet, after we found it on hands of our baby.

Pros: A traditional Austrian inn downstairs, a modern, minimalist hotel upstairs. Stylish interior, friendly staff, good breakfast. Ideal for a couple of nights if you are visiting the region.
Cons: Altogether very good and very good value for money, there are only some minor issues. 6.7 Good
Pros: Enjoyed two good dinners and two acceptable breakfasts. Nicely appointed suite when we finally got what we had booked in the first place.
Cons: Hotel failed to provide us with the room we booked —gave us a 25 sq. Meter suite with shower rather than 60 sq. Meter suite with tub and shower that we booked (and we booked last December). Insisted on a reduced rate the first night and were switched to the right suite for the last 2 nights. Hotel management than tried to renege on reduced rate when we checked out and to charge us extra for the last 2 nights. We refused to pay and had to spend 20 minutes arguing with hotel manager/owner. It’s a nice hotel but the management is greedy and totally unprofessional. What a shame!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Scrummy breakfast, lovely supper, comfy rooms, pleasant staff.
Cons: We thought that given the general level of charm one toweringly charmless waiter at supper was having a really bad day. His colleague was delightful. Everyone was helpful and kind and the rooms, perfectly comfortable. It felt like a family hotel, well run by a professional and friendly family.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was AMAZING! Lots of choices and beautifully presented! We even ate dinner at the restaurant 2 out of the 3 nights we stayed here - all delicious! Room size was about average for a European hotel. Comfortable beds. And they provided a fan for us.
Cons: Our room size was average by Europe standards. Otherwise, all else was great!

Pros: Staff were unfailingly helpful. Within minutes of arriving (early) I could check into my room, I rented an e-bike and had maps of the local beautiful Wachau valley. Facilities far exceeded my expectations and included a pool, jacuzzi and sauna all available in my great value standard package. Cannot recommend enough!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I came to Emmersdorf with my motorcycle, so the location was good for me. Nevertheless it is close to Melk so for visitors of this nice city this location is OK as well. And from the first moment in the hotel I felt I would spend great time there. The staff is excellent, huge restaurant includes street space, room itself which I got was fabulous, with big bathroom and two badrooms, and finally the indoor spa was great after eight hours riding. Breakfast is of higher standard as well, sometimes not seen even in 4* hotels within Europe. 10 from 10 :-) and I am sure I will try to repeat this experience.
Cons: nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent, the staff courteous and helpful (knowing a little German will help), location was great. Peaceful and quiet area, great place to relax.
Cons: Unfortunately, the room we were provided had the distinct smell of cigarette smoke and the ashtray on the balcony was overflowing with butts. We don't smoke so this was not to our liking. This was odd but we needed a corkscrew to open a bottle of wine in our room. So I went to the bar to ask to borrow a corkscrew. The bartender in the restaurant only had 1?? Had to bring the bottle to the restaurant to have it uncorked.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms, bar area, celebrity themed bar, old juke box cig machine darts game etc. Great local liquors friendly welcoming staff owners.
6.7 Good
Pros: The bed was large and very comfortable, the shower was good and the parking was adequate. Check in was very quick and efficient.
Cons: From the moment we arrived, we felt the place looked and felt deserted. We were unsure as to where to go to check in as it is not clear. We had booked the apartment and the facilities in the kitchen area were very poor with a lack of cooking utensils and what was there was a mish mash of random things. There was no kettle despite stating that all units provide one. 2 coffee pods were supplied for the coffee machine, unfortunately one of them was punctured and could not be used. Luckily for us we did not want to cook.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very good location, nice and quiet, still close to the highway. A perfect place for a stop when you need a bit of rest on your way. The host is great; check in was instant; the room (actually it had a kitchenette too) was clean and the sheets were fresh. The breakfast was great, as advertised.
Cons: couldn't connect to the Internet
5.8 Okay
Pros: The owners were extremely friendly. I liked the flower hangings that they had in the garden and he showed me how to make one! Also we asked them to do a wash for us and they did. The apartments were comfortable, modern and very clean. Great coffee and they brought breakfast up to our room. Lovely garden and lots of toys for kids.
Cons: The area is not very nice. We were very surprised when we arrived. For the money, I was expecting something much nicer! We had no idea how to get ahold of the owners because it's a strange entrance and the restaurant was closed. It just didn't have that quaint Austrian feel that we wanted but for a quick stopover, it would suffice. Also the windows open to a very busy street where cars were zooming by until late and you could hear the trains as well so not ideal in hot weather when you need the windows open.
7.1 Good
Pros: There are two rooms to rent at the property, and I have now seen both. Very nice kitchen corners. Fully equipped kitchen. Restaurant is excellent, and I would always gladly go there. Staff and owners are extremely friendly and I kind of feel bad writing the negative comments, but they are facts and can not be ignored. Perhaps if someone is staying longer and manages to negotiate a better price, it will be worth the money.
Cons: Soft beds, offer no support for people with back problems. Horrible fluffy feather pillows, which leave nothing under your head once you lay down. Provided coffee capsules did not fit Espresso machine. In one of the rooms toilet closes with a plastic curtain (so, barely) and bathroom is completely open, with only the shower being closed off by the shower cabin.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very hospitable owner's, good size kitchen area, and pet friendly.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Amazing guesthouse near the Danube river, with views on the river and a small park on the river bank, with playground and some watersports facilities. The Danube bike path is right in front of the house, and we rented bicycles from the guesthouse. Our room was large and spotless, food at the restaurant absolutely delicios, breakfast very good, and we ate there in the evenings also. We could not leave without buying two bottles of wine and some marillen jam jars, as they were delicious. Lovely owners ready to help with everything one might need.
Cons: There's nothing to write in here.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The landscape with vinyards, fortress, and a great valley. The effort to integrate old and new. Excellent breakfast. Suite smaragd is great, although we expected to stay in the new building. Next time we’ll ask to stay in the old building. Swimming pool and spa: very good. An interesting offert of wines, nektar, brand and jam. Do not hesitate. PS The cat of the house is great.
Cons: Run by a family, it is perhaps difficult to assure a permanent reception desk. In the offer, they have to make clear where the guest will stay.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel has a homey atmosphere. The attention to detail is stunning. It's beautiful country with one overlooking the vineyard. Next to old part of hotel is modern villa with a wonderful view and swimming pool. A good breakfast. Nice place :)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Everything.
Cons: One particular member of the staff really looked like she had other ideas for her life. The "This is below me. You should be serving me, not I you" vibe hung in the air like electricity before a thunderstorm. Everyone else was amazing.
6.7 Good
Pros: The hotel is simply wonderful, very nice room, unforgettable view from the terrace, relaxing area and pool fantastic, breakfast can be improved, pour choice and quality of food. The real problem of this hotel were the owners, very unfriendly and disinterested, it really seems they are not happy of what their are doing...when I asked for a degustation of their wines (which were actually very good) they made me feel like a profiteer, Check out was very cold and annoyed, what a pity!!
Cons: Owners/staff
