Relaxing and calming location. Staff very helpful and attentive. Special and variated breakfast.Definitely the place to go to relax and reload the batteries.
Beautiful accommodation in a wonderful setting. Staff very friendly and helpful. Delicious breakfast. We would definitely recommend this guesthouse if you are visiting this area. It was our first stop on a tour of the Netherlands (an easy 2 hour drive from the ferry at Calais).
The ambience of 'Bed & Breakfast de Kienstee' immediately came through of a country setting mixed with delightful decor, its comfort & care towards its visitors rarely found in hotels of to-days world. The visitor is cosseted by its owner, first shown by the welcoming energising pot of tea or coffee, food is abundant & delicious, beware you'll put on weight. The owners artistic mind and craftwork has put to-gether an interior layout that constantly holds the eye but in doing so relaxes the senses achieving a peaceful haven for all to luxuriate in. Set within a working arable farm the exterior doesn't fail in refreshing the senses with its ducks, geese & wildfowl. Children will love it, letting the parents chill out on the terrace
The room was spacious and wonderfully decorated. It is located in a remote area so the night could not have been more quiet. The owner is adorable and her breakfast is marvellous but way too much :). Hope to go back there with my partner next time, such a romantic place!
It was simply one of the best B&B I have been to. Spaciousand and stylish room. Very clean. Wonderfull host. Really good breakfast. Real Zeeland countryside location. A gem. I had to leave.
it is really quite, see and nature, sauna the bed are separate, preferable great bed
Good parking facilities, free internet access and close to the beach. Small rooms and lack of sound insulation in the door to the corridor.
Good location with possibility of cycling, rollerskating, very close to the beach and some exciting villages/cities (Sluis, Brugge). Quite rich breakfast, impressive pub. Peaceful environment. Old, awful furniture, patches on the walls, smelly, dump bathroom, funny unusable equipments (radio, hairdryer), very uncomfortable, instable beds, the cheapest possible toilet paper, very thin towels. The dog is extremely expensive, 15 EUR for the first night, 7,50 for the others. However, dogs can't be taken to the restaurant and breakfast room.
christmas shopping. no
excellent reception service. I was also a bit unwell and needed honey + hot water at 23.30hrs and the Barman went out of his way & got me what I required from the kitchen. Grest overall service!
it was very cold in the room !
very relaxed hotel, with lovely resturant and good breakfast.
It is a very relaxing place to stay, with excellant facilities including an very nice sauna and relaxation spa room, and lovely pool. A good place to stop. I was expecting a bigger room and I was expecting a better menu of fish on the menu.
Great staff, very friendly. Good restaurant. Beds too soft
Staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. There was a good sized well lit car park and the breakfast selection was good. There was no literature in English. The hotel was out of theway if you had no means of transport. There was no facility to exchange money.
This is an excellent hotel in the middle of a small quiet town, a few miles from the sea and the beach. The personnel is fantastic and the room was very spatious and quiet. Breakfast is a real treat in this hotel! The hotel facilities are more than adequate though not particularly luxurious. The restaurant is very good though prices are rather high. Overall we had an excellent stay here.
Breakfast was verry good. Everything fresh and home made.
Very friendly service, very clean rooms, great breakfast. Restaurant with an exceptional atmosphere and excellent food. Cosy place you immediately feel at home in. The only thing: hair dryer (at least in the smaller rooms on the second floor) are really no good for styling.
friendly personnel; good breakfast; excellent bed the espresso was poor
manager very friendly, rooms very nice, wf-fi very good!
Staff were friendly and attentive
Very nice people, good kitchen, clean and spacius room, comfortable beds. Very good location in the centre of Oostbug. Perfect breakfast. Stairs to the rooms is rather steep. A little noisy (thin walls).
the personal and friendly manner the crew did their job
Family-run boutique hotel; size of room; very high quality of food and service; feeling like a guest and not a consumer baby cot was not great; we flagged it to the manager who will undoubtedly provide a better one for the next guests
calm, tasty bread for breakfast, not far from Belgium (Brugge, Gent), funny (chamber-pot in the room) semi-transparent doors of the rooms on the first floor
A generally pleasant atmosphere with comfortable sitting room and lovely garden for sitting out. Bedrooms were very simple but comfortable, but had lighting a bit dim for reading.
Very friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere
Welcome, friendly staff, excellent facilities, and breakfast Everything fine
the relaxed atmosphere
Quaint but comfortable, good breakfast, excellent value for money None
nice decoration - well furnished & nice location - good breakfast - nice owner/personal -food service quite slow but nothing dramatic for a 2 stars
The rooms were lovely but unfortunately poorly insulated : we were kept awake by the noise from upstairs.
Unusual to stay in a museum - and quite happy for guests to look around.
Very compact apartment-style room with every possible kitchen appliance available. Very clean and comfortable. Quiet and private. Excellent breakfast. We would have preferred a double bed - rather than the two adjoining singles. A bath too would have been nice.
The seaside view. It was a quiet place to relax The breakfast was not so good.
It is very dated, and not in a nice way. It could be a wonderful retro hotel, but instead we found it depressing. It was also already too late for dinner at 20.30
Spacious room - marvellous view - very quiet - clean - friendly welcome No not really .... exactly what we hoped for ....
The architecture is fantastic, I,m very happy is is maintained as it is. Nothing, everything was perfectly allright. Very kind owner. Mevr. Demilliano
Nothing!!!! On the website it states that the hotel had a bar which it does not!, Also everything is closed at 10pm. I was with the Director of our company and he was apalled with the hotel and its facilities. We had to have a meeting in his room. I will not be booking this hotel again and with a room rate of 130euro a night this is very poor.
the room was well furnished and well maintained.the location was excellent.the staff were friendly and helpfull.
Very large and comfortable rooms, great seaview, friendly staff, good location (close to Brugge, Vlissingen and the Cadzand beaches).
Sea views from our hotel window - including large ships passing to/from Antwerp etc. in the wide estuary. The hotel also overlooks a harbour where a passenger ferry crosses to/from Vlissingen. Although it must be said that a room with a sea-view at this hotel does cost at least 30 euros more than their "standard room". The hotel has a quiet location next to the beach and harbour.
Location - view to the sea - restaurant was closed from 9pm - charge for extra bed in junior suite was ridiculously overpriced - 70eur (and this was not indicated while booking)
My friend and I loved the friendliness of the staff, even the breakfast was served with love! The room was extremely well designed and classy. The location is ideal, right on the beach and close to a harbour. I would have liked some club or something indoors where we could pass our time, if it rained. There is a small town centre closeby but it would be nice to have some fun and games inside the hotel, if possible.
The hotel is basic and clean, I liked the food in the restaurant and personal touch of the owner. the hotel is as advertised a basic, clean and value for money hotel. No frills.
Accoustic signature of rooms not particularly good. Easy to disturb be disturbed by neighbour Needs tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms
Cosy hotel, pleasant atmosphere and clean comfortable rooms Nothing
THe hotel was situated in a small village (satnav recommended) with little more than a small shop/post office, a garage and a kitchen furniture manufacturer/showroom, but larger villages within a few minutes travel. Although we didn't partake it seemed to be the centre for anyone wishing to explore the area by bicycle, as everywhere is flat, these could be hired at the hotel, During the fine weather, the hotel was a stopping off point for cyclist and although in a small village, was very busy. English is widely spoken and other guests and locals are happy to talk. The food was very good, all home cooked by the owners wife. Parking no problem. The hotel had 17 rooms split between two buildings across the street, breakfast in one half ,dinner in the other. The current exchange rate Pound/Euro does make even a short trip to the continent quite expensive especially in the bigger cities and even the hotel. Restaurant food and drink very expensive
