The hotel is in a great location- close enough to Florence and the shoppings malls. The views and the sunset over the hills are fantastic . The restaurant was very good and the staff were brilliant.
Even though the room was not luxurious, we enjoyed having the space for 4 adult women. The quiteness was wonderful but we were not far from the hustle-bustle of a-1, Firenze, Pizza, etc. Very convenient location. The dining room was wonderful in comfort and food preparation. The only thing that I disliked was that our dished were not washed by cleaners. We had to wash our own dishes.
Great location and well away from the tourist in Florence....
The place and the restaurant The price of the restaurant
We accidently came across this enchanting place 5 years ago and we have always dreamed of coming back and at last we have. It was just as perfect as I remembered. Dinner was a delight. We sat on the terrace every night eating beautifully prepared food and drinking good wines overlooking a peaceful valley experience. There are frequent buses from Fiesole (6km from the hotel) to Florence.
Beautiful location. Warm welcome. Flexible arrangements.
Overall, this is a very good (family) hotel: big swimming pool, a very nice and rich breakfast buffet, comfortable (airco), nice&friendly staff, nice mountain view, etc... . The food in the restaurant is also very good: freshly prepared pasta! Free internet would make this perfect hotel complete.
the view was very good. the staff in general were good. the original accomodation was very poor for self catering. ie no plates glasses cups forks knifes etc. the sofa bed was very uncomfortable and you could hear the neighbours using their toilets. there were several "trip hazards in the grounds, especially near the pool, which the old saying " photographs never lie" can be proved incorrect here. Even when we were moved into the main building, at no extra cost for which we were grateful, no cups tea-coffee making facilties existed.
We loved staying in this village. It had plenty of restaurants and open cafe's. The hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly and could not have been more helpful.
The position of the hotel was quite fantastic, over looking the Tuscan hills. The owners were very helpfull and accommodating and the food in the restaurant was delicious and very reasonably priced. If travelling by public transport from Florence it is worth contacting the hotel directly as it is in fact no where near Molin del Piano! There are buses, but it requires a little planning! well worth the effort though...
Lovely rural location some way from Fiesole, car essential. Bedroom was in block away from hotel, quiet and spacious. Just what we needed when going to family wedding nearby. Good breakfasts. Shelves needed in bathroom!
The staff were very accomodating, spoke good English to back up our poor Italian and were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds with excellent views. The restaurant is very good value and the quality of the food was superb. Only grumble was that the sofa bed was unconmfortable and needed a new/thicker mattress...
The hotel is in a lovely hillside location. It is an elegant building with individual styled rooms. A place to relax in. The directions to the hotel are far from clear and it is not anywhere near the village which is the postal address
The staff were very attentive and the food was absolutely delicious. We had a very relaxing time in a very beautiful setting. No
Very nice family who have the hotel, they are kind, considerate and generous. Near enough to Florence and Fiesole.
We enjoyed the hotel staff abd their professional and friendly attitude The name is resort, meaning it offers some other activities (tenis, horseback riding, bike rentals, etc), which it does not. There seems to be a contradiction between the word resort and what it offers, but it might be our misunderstanding as well
The truly Tuscan atmosphere Nothing
good swimming pool its literally in the village, restaurant staff
staff are very friendly.
really smart place for the money - lovely surroundings and breakfast - very good value for money some staff could be more friendly but otherwise nothing bad to say
The train station is a 25 min walk from this 'resort',it is a couple km's through the town.On our second night when we wanted to use the a/c in the room, it did not work at all, there was no power to it. In the morning when I mentioned it to the owner, he told me that I did not 'need' the a/c at night. The power to the hot water for the shower was turned off during the day. We asked for an iron and ironing board but were given an iron but no board which left my wife to iron our clothes on a table in the reception area (not what you would expect at a four star resort). The resort is not in the country side as they would have you believe on the website,it is actually on the edge of a large town.
The owners were charming and exceedingly helpful in giving directions to areas we wanted to visit. After a day of touring, the pool was a delight. The pizzaria /restaurant that Roberta recommended in Rufina, served some of the best pizza we had during our trip. Their panna cotta was amazing! The morning that we finally returned to Florence, we left before breakfast was served. Roberta surprised us with shopping bags with food for our trip.
location , nearby train station, peace and tranqulity, swimming pool, suroundings poor and (too)late breakfast
Very friendly management and staff, the room was excellent and the facilities were all good. If we were in the area again, we would deffinitely go back.
The lady owner -very courteous. The location - close to lovely walks and scenery, but only a mile form a railway station. The wine [their own - very good - particualry the rose] The road outside is fairly busy and there are no pavemetns as such. No problem for those with a car - and we managed pretty well too.
Very nice pool and the dog was nice! Room not cleaned in 8 nights and had to ask for clean towels and toilet rolls. No toiletries in the bathroom. Exactly the same miserly breakfast every day of one long life roll, one long life croissant. Variety came in the flavour of your yoghurt. One cup of coffee was all you were allowed too. The noise from the road is very intrusive, drowned out by your room fan at night though.... We had to leave one night sooner than planned and despite giving more than 2 days notice we were still charged, even though the hotel(?) wasn't full. The only saving grace was the pool (we were hired[!] towels) and it's closeness to Florence. I had expected hospitality from what I had read in the other reviews but came away feeling conned.
Very nice and relaxing place to stay. Alessandra is a perfect host - vinetasting, using the kitchen, gives advice on trips and restaurants in the area.....Perfect! None
