We dine at Lola every chance when we are in Seattle and have had consistent high quality food and service every time. Our server was Lori, who has been there a very long time and remembered us as past customers. The food was again very good and the attention given us was timed perfectly. It is rewarding to be able to patronize an establishment that maintains standards and retains it's long-term employees.

We have dined at the Dahlia Lounge multiple times and have never been disappointed with the service and quality of the food. Service is personal and well managed. This is absolutely one of our favorite restaurants in Seattle. Thank you, Mr. Douglas, for establishing this restaurant.

Every dish we ordered was tiny, unimpressive and overpriced. One person in our party got food poisoning from the Prawn Kabobs they ordered. Service was slow and disorganized, one member of our party ordered a carafe of red house wine and got white instead. The waitress didn't come back for 30 minutes to see if things were ok. The men in our party left hungry because the portions were so small. All side dishes were extra and small so that a party of 4 really didn't get enough for everyone. The cocktails were outstanding, but I will not be going here again.

We went to Lola for two breakfasts in a row. It has delicious food and great, friendly staff. The rosemary potatoes are amazing and the Eggs Benedict is insanely good. They automatically add 20% for tip share so don't be surprised when you get the bill and it's higher than expected. Our only issue was the standard tip, our servers were so great we wanted to tip more and felt bad that we couldn't. Love this place!

This was a long-awaited dinner out with friends. I pushed for Lola since we've been there before and it's always been great. The food was delicious- everyone enjoyed their meal. The only issue was our server. Every time he came over, it was an abrupt interruption. There was no sense of timing for him, just 'so- have you decided what you want?' right in the middle of a story. Jesse was fairly abrupt the entire time- I don't think he ever smiled. Kind of a shame- service can make or break the experience of a nice evening out.

No explanation of the complicated menu. Ordered the ribeye steak for tea you and could only eat half of it . Not a good good cut of meat. I was a bit disappointed. We were arriving late in Seattle and looking for a restaurant for a quiet, late dinner near our Hotel. Found Lola on a Trip Advisor search and also got a recommendation from the bellman at the Mayflower Park. Two block walk and a great find. This was our annual New Year's Day brunch--as always, the hardest part is deciding which wonderful food I want to eat. I usually order seafood but this time, I had the lamb shish kebab and my dining partner had the lamb burger. I had a bloody mary and my dining partner a Cava. Food was cooked perfectly (sometimes hard to do with lamb) and sides complemented. It's always very busy for New Year's Day brunch, crowded around the entrance (and with long waits if you don't have a reservation), but, magically, as soon as we are seated, calm descends. They've got both the food and service down. I love this place, whether for special occasions or just as a treat. Best take on upscale middle eastern food in town.

I had a really nice meal here on New Year's Eve with friends. I started off with a Sapphire Greek martini -- the only difference between this and the regular is a feta stuffed olive. We then noshed on the pita points with an olive fig spread and a cauliflower spread. They were great starters. Then it was on to a marinated beet salad with pears, mint. and yogurt (I love beets), and some of the best broiled octopus that I've ever had. Very nicely done. Next up was steamers with loukaniko sausage, white beans, and grilled bread. For the main course I had the Anderson leg of lamb, made with oregano, mint, preserved lemon, au jus. It didn't disappoint. Everybody went away happy and full to watch fireworks.

I have been at this restaurant many times, but this visit was slightly different. As always the service has been very good. Especially, with the new service charge being placed within the tab. I didn't feel the difference with the quality of the service. \nI did experience a slight different quality with my breakfast. Being on the day of New Year's Eve, it's possible the supply of food is being distributed for other needs. My order of Egg Benedict with the ham seemed a little dry, I did not mention it to the server only being it was my first experience not being a great meal at the restaurant.\nThe meal doesn't change how I feel about the restaurant, I will still eat my order of Egg Benedict there.\nI just look at it as an off day for 2016.

Did you know the first thing I did after booking our trip to Seattle was make reservations for brunch at Lola? I also made it our first stop as soon as we landed. Can you tell how excited I was to see what Tom Douglas had to offer?\n\nWalking in to a bustling scene with our table waiting for us made us feel like VIP's. Our server cheerfully greeted us with quite a humor that made us all at ease with her. She graciously answered our menu questions and proved to be on top of things during the entirety of our meal. \n\nIf anything, thou shall not miss their made to order DOUGHNUTS ($9.50). I'll remember this as one of the best things in my mouth on this getaway. The vanilla mascarpone may have done it, really, but the warm fried dough that melts instantaneously cannot be easily dismissed either.\n\nFor those in need of something light, half portions of their EGGS BENEDICT is available for half the price. As opposed to Canadian bacon, they use Bavarian ham smothered with their house dill hollandaise and then served with smashed garlic potatoes on the side. It's one scrumptious meal but I'm not sure if it warrants the $19.25 price tag for a full order. I've had better for less.\n\nTOM'S FAVORITE BREAKFAST ($19.50) - after devouring an entire plate while moaning in utter satisfaction, I follow suit as this is now my favorite breakfast to date. Supple and soft pieces of octopus are fused together with purple potatoes, bacon, tender greens, and green garlic yogurt. It is then topped with a sunny side up egg that brightened the entire dish as I popped the yolk out, mixing each component together as one big delicious mess. Mount it on your toast, or not. However way you eat it, rest assured, you will be elated bite after bite.\n\nA side of PANCAKES were insisted upon us by our server and I shall thank her for doing so. Again, served with their heavenly vanilla mascarpone, you may forego the maple syrup as the cake itself has a distinguished taste that was blissfully satiating.

Disappointing fare based on the prices. Once again, a Tom Douglas restaurant tries to reinvent 'potatoes ' and fails miserably (the Dahlia Lounge across the street has a Parmesan 'crusted' variety that's nearly inedible). The eggs had a weird slimy texture and the 'foraged mushrooms' weren't much to write home about either. The automatic 20% gratuity is a big turn off - thankfully service was attentive albeit slow. The 'freshly griddled pita' was dough-y and needed a couple more minutes on the griddle.

The service was friendly and good, the appetizers wonderful and our meals were fantastic. Wine list was 'OK' in my opinion, and I'm not a fan of places that decide to include the tip - you pay 20% regardless of service level. I would like to decide that myself based on the service. Ends up service was great so they received the same I would have done, but it's the principle. Otherwise, great place for a great meal with Greek overtones and local produce!

Honestly: The grilled cheese was cold, stale and dry. The music playing was from Toto and other horrible bands from the early 80's. The skewers of chicken were sad. Early, we ordered clams. Then we found out that Lola was out of clams. Then an hour later they said they found some clams. Do we now want those discovered clams? Um, no.

We had the perfect date night sharing kebabs, spanakopita, one of the lovely pasta dishes and the-not-to-be-missed coconut cream pie. The kebabs were flavorful and balanced; the spanakopita was rich and beautifully complex; and that coconut pie was just ever so slightly sweet, light as air and topped with crisp and toasty coconut chips. I'm certain I'll have dreams about it for years to come. The whole meal was sumptuous, the service was impeccable , and our evening was definitely memorable. Lola will be on our list for our next trip to Seattle!

Lola's combines a lack of pretentiousness with really, really good and interesting food. I'll drop in for dinner here a couple of times a year and always enjoy it, but New Year's Day brunch has been a tradition for several years and remains consistently the best food I have all season. I had Tom's special--octopus, eggs, veggies along with a perfect Bloody Mary and coffee. I like it because it's something I would never make for myself at home, but wasn't weird. My dining companion had a Lola Breakfast, a scone and iced tea. Again, just unusual enough to be a real treat. \n\nThis isn't really 'mediterranean' food, but it's a wonderful variation.

Went here for a pre-concert dinner on a busy Saturday night with three extremely picky eaters whose taste tends toward simple, healthy and unadventurous. They shared salmon and chicken kebab appetizers, a Greek salad and na'an. They were all blown away with how pretty and tasty things were. Although the tastes were not really familiar (e.g. Yogurt sauce moistening the chicken), the balance made them happily claim each one's fair share after. There was just the right amount of food (server really helpful in suggesting sharing, letting us know exactly what was in the dishes and assuring us we could always order more if it wasn't enough) and left room for ice cream for dessert. I chose a dish I couldn't make at home --spiced squash borek tajine--can't even begin to describe how wonderful. It tasted. Service was pleasant and knowledgable. Wish the noise level wasn't so high.

The food was very good and I really enjoyed the wine I had. The one drawback was that the restaurant is not conscious of gluten-free needs. There is no gluten-free desert besides ice cream, and items on the menu are not labeled as to whether or not they have gluten. My partner is gluten sensitive and we didn't find out that the meatballs had wheat until after we ate them. We only found that out when we asked about gluten-free deserts.

I highly recommend the restaurant.\n\nHowever, a disturbing trend is emerging among restaurants - that of automatically adding 20% to the meal cost. I have always believed that the tip is commensurate with the level of service, and I tip accordingly - usually generously. I don't care to have the tip predetermined for me.

Traveling to Seattle and found Lola's, thinking it maybe similar to Lola's in Cleveland Ohio I gave it a go. Not even close. My greeting was less than warm and then was seated next to the bussing table. which was loud and had constant bussing traffic. Typically I would have not accepted but after a 5 hour flight I was to tired to complain. The server was pleasant enough. I was looking for fish and he directed me to the Trout which was slightly over cooked, was prepared in whole and I was not prepared for by server. There were way too many bones after the server de-boned at my table. All in I came away disappointed.

Lola's is a staple for us whenever in Seattle. This evening I dined with a friend who had never been - we tried and shared many items from the menu. Starting with the spreads and grilled pitas, expanded our culinary horizons with a cabbage and fennel salad (DELISH!), had some kebabs, and rounded out dinner with the brussels sprouts. Diner was AMAZING. Loved every bite and enjoying sharing with my friend so that we could enjoy much more of the menu together. We've been coming this restaurant for the last 5 years. Last time we went there, which was around 9:30pm, we noticed a few issues. Firstly for some reason the taste of the food wasn't as good and new dish we tried next to our usual order was just outright tasteless. It wasn't horrible or anything but it's like eating raw celery, noting tasty about it. I don't know if you changed the chef or something but something was off.\n\nSecond of all why did you charge a fixed service fee of 20%? We were just two. Ordered all of our food at once. We didn't like the food, we didn't like the service quality as the delivery was like 2x slow than usual while restaurant wasn't even half full. Now, if you charge 20% for two person table with almost no interaction with the waitress, how are we going to voice our opinion? Well I guess this is one avenue so here you go. Also note that our usual tip is around 20-25% there as we had always liked the food but no not last time.\n\nWe visited Lola numerous times. In fact Lola was one of the 3 restaurants we frequent regularly. I brought different members of my family and friends to celebrate special occasions and to demonstrate what Mediterranean food is about.\n\nWell not anymore. You lost a customer.

I took my 86 year old mother to Lola's for her birthday dinner along with my 17 year old son. Although the restaurant is a little noisy, she loved the energy and looking outside and at all the people. It was not stuffy or pretentious but fun for all three of us. We chose the family style dinner. It was the perfect choice. My mom loved it. The serving sizes were huge. We got 6 large spreads to try, kabobs and a tower of lamb with very nice greens and potatoes. The dinner came with a dessert so the restaurant gave my mom a complimentary glass of wine for her birthday. We 'reserved' a table for our kid free evening out (rare!). We were about 10 min early and went to the tiny bar to look at the cocktail menu and order drinks. We were led to our table that was literally a shared table with another couple. A 'U' shaped booth with two tables pulled an inch apart. This was clearly a 4-6 person booth not meant to be shared. So we spent our romantic dinner with not one but two other couples. I was very irritated and most likely will not return especially having 'reserved' a table you'd think you would get your own table. Otherwise, the food was pretty good and the staff was attentive and friendly.\n\nThanks,\n\nHeather & Julio Melendez

Our server was incredibly rude when we explained that we could not have alcohol poured over our food. She repeatedly came back to our table to explain how the alcohol cooks off (not entirely true) and that 'even a baby' could eat it. We didn't feel the need to explain the facts to her but if a person is allergic to a substance ( peanuts, wheat, alcohol etc..) they can choose to ask for the dish to be served without that ingredient, they do not need a lecture from the server. If it wasn't an automatic tip on the bill we would have left her very little. The food itself was ok, but the portions were very small. We will not back to Lola.

I wanted to try one of Tom Douglas' restaurants and after a lot of fish in Seattle, we chose Lola which offered several proteins as well as vegetarian. We tried two dips with pita, different tastes but very good. Our mains were lamb and squid (yes, more fish) kebabs on grilled onions plus a side of green beans in tomato sauce. All were delicious! We topped off the meal with dessert and after dinner drinks. All the food was done right and thoughtfully seasoned.\n\nMy complaints are about the tight squeeze in the two-top booth, the noisy room with high industrial ceilings and mostly, the rushed service which made the experience less than fantastic and the reason the overall rating was only mid-range. The food and portion size were great. You could add on another meze or two if you had a big appetite. But our apps were barely touched when the kebabs came out. Maybe it's supposed to be a fast casual place.\n\nAll in all I'd still go back and recommend or. Just ask the server to slow things down a bit.

My husband and I had a day off together, which is very hard to come by. We decided to get lunch and see a movie. I found this place that did breakfast and reserved a table. \n We waited when we got there and no one seemed to know what to do with us. We tried ordering mimosas from the bar but were ignored. Eventually a woman asked if we were waiting and we ordered them from her. Then someone brought us silverware and water glasses. A few moments later someone else came up and took the water glasses and silverware. I'm not sure if the staff doesn't communicate or what but it was very distracting and odd. \n Once we got the table we were given more silverware and steaming hot glasses to pour room temperature water in. After the hyperbole from our server about the 'best ever' we ordered. I had a plate from the mezze section and a side item. My meal came out a moment later with share plates. When I pointed this out, the the server they took the share plates but left half of my meal just sitting on the table. I was left to stare at part of my food for 15min until the rest of it came out. \n Our server did not check on us throughout the meal. My husband wanted another mimosa and I would have liked coffee or tea but we were not given a chance to order again until he stopped by to clear our plates. I would have even settled for a refill of our water container while eating but that also did not come until the check. \n This was our first experience at a Tom Douglas restaurant and at over $70 for breakfast coupled with service we could have gotten at a dinner with $5.99 blue plate special, I don't think we will be trying any others.

If you are looking for a cozy lunch spot, this is it. In addition to some small plates and soup and salads, the small menu offers about 5 different kabobs. I had the pork kabob and my two companions each had lamb. The pork was delicious, with a sweet glaze, and served with a side of pita bread and yogurt dip and your choice of salad or roasted potato. The pork was a little on the chewy side unlike the lamb which my friends enjoyed without complaint.\nOur server offered to split the sides so that we could have a little of each on our plates. It was plentiful and yet I somehow managed to eat it all. Well worth the price. \nService was attentive and non-intrusive. We were there to celebrate a birthday and were offered a free dessert. We'd had the to-die-for coconut cream pie in the past so decided to branch out and try the chocolate cake (moist and light) which was pared with a frozen orange infused whipped cream and topped with a nut brittle. Perfecto!

Lola met all of my expectations - great food, great vibe, special occasion vibe, friendly staff. Highly recommend. Love the small plates, spreads, and skewers. We had the roasted red pepper spread with delicious pita, the greek salad (that was awesome because it was a traditional greek salad without lettuce) and then I had the lamb skewer and my girlfriend had the chicken skewer. Overall, a great experience.

We found ourselves at this restaurant during Seattle Restaurant Week and took advantage of the special menu. One of us had the mussels and they were declared about the best he had ever had. The other had pork kebabs which were delicious! The server helped us make a decision about our entrees and her recommendations were spot on! Both the lamb and the trout were lovely to look at and completely delightful to eat! Sooo good. Any dessert on the menu was available but because we had heard about the special coconut cream pie, we both went for that. It was all it was touted to be and more! We had a gift card so the value for us was good but without that, the value would have just been average - typical Seattle prices. But, the service was excellent and everyone was friendly and helpful. We plan to return!

I had a disappointing trip for breakfast on a Saturday. It started with a long wait for a table despite having a reservation. Some friends without a reservation who coincidently arrived at the same time were seated 5 minutes after us. The service was then slow, pancakes rather dry and cakey, sausage greasy, green tea was an odd, weak brand... Others wrote of warm, friendly staff; the receptionist was cordial, but our server was rather indifferent, and didn't inquire if our meals were fine. My wife did like her eggs. Perhaps this was an off day, but I won't be back again. It is hard to imagine why this place gets good reviews.

That's a high bar, but it was. I've never had anything like that. The potatoes (we had a late breakfast) were also incredible. The pancakes were also way above average. The eggs were just eggs.\r\n\r\nThe only problem was that we were expecting an early dinner on a Sunday, and Open Table had us book a 2:45 table. We found out that the kitchen closed at 3pm and we had to rush our order in, breakfast or lunch only and no real time to think about it.\r\n\r\nThey didn't rush us at all after that, but there was no getting anything else from the kitchen as they were gearing up for Valentine's Day dinner. Understandable, but that what we thought we were going for. Open Table messed that up, not Lola's.

Sat at the split table where one 2 top seat directly faces the other 2 top seat in an awkward 'try not to make eye contact' position and had the pleasure of catching glances from an elderly woman all morning. Please, for your customers, put up a divide between those tables of some sort. People don't want to be crunched next to another couple then made to stare directly at them all morning. \n\nPlease also educate the staff on the art of cappuccino making. I know it's kind of pretentious, but it's a skill that has to be taught at this kind of restaurant.

The ambience, food were good. Nothing out of this world. We ordered as an appetizer Kopanisti~Pistachio*, Mavrodaphne (which is essentially a feta based dish (small), with some pistachio, sprinkled with red wine). We were however a little disappointed that they only had one bottle of Greek wine to sell. They offered many on the menu but when it came to purchase a bottle they fell short. In return they offered a free saganaki dish that came with a couple of burned pieces of pita bread. The high lite of a saganaki dish is to showcase the burning of the cheese. This also was a little disappointing in that they did not light it in front of us. I wanted my girl friend to see since she has not seen it and it was a special date for us.

The portions were so small that we ended up ordering 2 more items on top of what we had initially thought would have been plenty.\n\nI am not sure now that I will go back there as I think the experience is way overpriced.

I had sticker shock over how expensive menu items in this very casual restaurant were, especially considering the type of food they serve! There was not one bottle wine under $40. Although we did order a carafe of house red wine and it was decent. The kabobs were tiny and the lamb was flavorless and over cooked. One thing that saved this meal was the service, which was excellent from our greeting at the door to our server's menu suggestions. Our table was kept clear and we did not feel rushed. The best part of our experience at Lola, was the Semolina Pudding. It was probably one of the best desserts I've had in many, many years. It was sweet but not too sweet, creamy but not heavy and the combinations of flavors sang in my mouth. I would return to Lola....but only for this dessert!

My friends know that Lola is my favorite restaurant in Seattle if not the world. I just love this type of food and the way Tom's people cook it. We have never been disappointed. But this time was special. This time we got to meet an outstanding server, Alonda. She was awesome in every way. Timing out our dinner, checking with us just the right amount of times, just taking great care of us. \n\nTom Douglas has implemented an 18% service charge to take the place of tipping. I had forgotten that and when the bill came I thought it was a little high. Then I realized that the 'tip' was already in it. I had to add a little more as Alonda's service was WAY above and beyond. As was our dinner. We tried Tom's Big Dinner which two share. Wonderful. Got to have some of almost all our faves. Smashed potatoes, roast leg of lamb, all the meze spreads. So good. And a superb cocktail to start and a carafe of the house red. All in all, a great meal...\n\nExcept for the hostess blowing us off when we came in and not logging us in to Open Table. Recommend the ice creams for dessert and you can get two different scoops in one order (coffee and chocolate were amazing). Great experience overall!

I didn't find Lola to be very memorable. As a hotel restaurant, it does have more character, which is reflected from their serving staff who doesn't seem too eager to serve. The food was Mediterranean-style – mostly populated by kebab, but also have more traditional breakfast food. We had the lamb, squid, and salmon kebab. They were fairly tasty, but not quite worth the price you'd pay for it. If you need a quick bite while you are in the area, this is a decent option.

We have been eating at Lola for many years and have always enjoyed the consistency of the food and service. On this last visit, I was surprised and disappointed to see that some of the mainstay menu items like the Greek salad and skewers had been increased in price - in some cases up to 40% - since our last visit a few months ago. I always expect perfection from Tom Douglas and Lola seems to have slipped a bit. Most of the dishes were good, but the seafood kakavia was disappointing. Some of the seafood (especially the crab) was dry, despite being in a seafood broth, and for $33.50, there should have been more scallop/crab and fewer clams/mussels. The halibut and lamb were prepared well as were the side dishes.\n\nThe restaurant was busy but the service generally kept pace with our needs.\n\nSo while I'd still recommend Lola, I wouldn't order the seafood kakavia again, which is unfortunate. Seattles Tom Douglas does Mediterranean with a Greek twist. This has been a perennial favorite of my wife and I for quite a few years running. We like the small scale, and the energy of the kitchen with the frequent scent of ouzo shots simmering on the cast iron grills. We had read so many great reviews, we were really excited to give it a try. We had stayed at the adjacent Hotel Andra last August but weren't able to get a reservation that fit our schedule. On our last visit, we planned a little further in advance and were able to a reservation time that we wanted.\nFirst, our water was delightful and very attentive so that was a plus. The menu was a little limiting but seemed to have enough variety for everyone in our party of four. We each ordered something different so that we could taste the different dishes. Tom's Favorite Scramble with octopus, asparagus and chickpeas was very unusual but, alas, a little too fishy for me. We also ordered an omelet with spinach and feta cheese. Really nothing special. The accompanying toast was done nicely with a crispy, buttery glaze but was rather cold. The garlic smashed potatoes sounded better that they were. Cold and dry. Additionally, we ordered the eggs Benedict which was probably the best choice. Very tasty. \nAll in all, we probably won't be rushing back here on our next trip.

Lola's always seems lively making it a fun atmosphere. The wine selections are different and the bartenders are very helpful if you need help or want to try something new. The servers all made recommendations and were accommodating to particular tastes. It is not an extensive menu but had something for everyone. The lamb and lamb burger are not to be missed and the semolina cake is great.

I have been traveling to Seattle every week for the last two months. The Lola Restaurant is only a few blocks from where I am staying but have never ventured there. What a mistake! Though the menu is slightly limited, what is on the menu is quite good. I was surprised. The service is extremely good and the waitress was one of the best I have encountered in months. If you want a variety and there are a number of you, the Tom's Plate will leave you gorged and wonderfully satisfied. If you are visiting Seattle, DO NOT miss going to this restaurant - the food is just to die for!

I was completely unimpressed by the cuisine at Lola. It completely lacked the heartiness of Mediterranean cuisine and in my view was relatively bland and uninteresting. I have eaten at two other of Tom's restaurants (Dahlia Lounge and Serious Pie) and both were excellent. This meal was therefore either an aberration or he does not have a handle on Greek cuisine.

We've been for dinner which had really amazing food, but this time we were there for brunch on Vday. The food was good, but nothing that I would be excited to get again. I got the toms breakfast and my husband got the omelet, which he said was all over powered by the red peppers paste inside. My breakfast was good and had well prepared octopus, but again, the flavors are good but nothing I would order again. The service was really awkward, I don't know if she was new or what, but seemed nervous and sort of forcing it.

I selected Lola for the location - just a few steps away from the Warwick Hotel. I dined early, in part to escape the dismal February downpour. The food was fresh and nicely prepared. I had the salmon kebabs, cooked to perfection and well seasoned. The brussel sprouts and pita with a cheese spread were also good - if a bit salty. The main point of praise was for my server. I was dining alone and he graciously offered to serve half portions of the sprouts and pita. Thank goodness, as the portions are quite large. He was also very helpful with my wine selection - I went with the retsina.

For breakfast: overdone potatoes galore (potatoes!), smashed. English muffins clad in impregnable ostrich skin crusts. Eggs nicely poached with rich yellow yolks. Good salt. Tasty dull-knife butchered bacon. Yummy tiny sugared doughnut squares -- lilies gilded with butter and jam. Curious Greek lunch menu might produce better results. Really, really expensive. Or is it just Seattle.

Food was good, but probably not worth the cost. The seafood platter was surprisingly small, the lamb ravioli was a too rich for me. The appetizer of five or six types of spreads was great, but they provided so few pieces of pitta that we had to order another two rounds. Biggest complaint, we were seated late (which is okay), but then the meal was rushed (as if they needed to catch-up for lost time). Appetizers out, then plates swept away in a burst of efficiency to make room for the entrees and presumably for the party who had the table after us. Maybe just an off night for them, but probably won't be back. Too expensive for a mediocre experience.

We went there for a family birthday and it was special. It's relatively loud (typical of so many places) but our group of five could hear each without straining and we weren't ease dropping on anyone else. The spreads were a good way to start and the combination of appetizers (citrus salad, octopus, shrimp), sides (smashed potatoes, brocolli, greens) and main courses (the black cod and lamb) were all terrific. Service was great.

Food very good. Octopus dish beautifully presented. Lamb burger and leg of lamb were great. Sides excellent. Overall pristine ingredients technically well prepared. Pricing seemed on the high side. QPR was passable.\n\nNegatives: while our server was good, the restaurant had an annoying tendency to try and clear plates that we were still eating from. The greeter was miserable- gave us a terrible first impression. No acknowledgment of diners as they entered or left the restaurant. Our departing vision of her was a wide open-mouth yawn.\n\nOur latter impression I found quite ironic considering the impending 'service included' concept starting at TDs restaurants in February, although I am not certain of Lola' involvement.

I took someone who had never been there before and felt embarrassed that he didn't like any of the food that he ordered (which was one of their burgers). \n\nPlease re-evaluate your menu and choices for dinner, Lola!

Lola has always been a favorite but recently, it doesn't hit the mark for me or my spouse. Inconsistent at best. Yummy chicken skewers, but well overcooked and very tough lamb. The food in this restaurant is highly mediocre. Been here twice and I have tried different dishes over the 2 visits. 10 or 12 years ago a friend & I had reservations for an early Christmas Eve dinner @ a long gone Seattle restaurant & arrived to find the doors locked. Stranded, at dinnertime on Christmas Eve, we couldn't find another place that was open & not totally filled. Lola was open & full, but they managed to squeeze us in. We had a wonderful meal & a splendid evening. Every Christmas Eve since, when we were both in town, we have had dinner @ Lola, making reservations as far in advance as we could, & have brought many friends w. us over the years. Last Thursday was no exception. My friend & I, with 4 others, had a fantastic spread & a joyful evening. It's tradition that never fails us, & one we will continue for as long as we can. This was a return trip to Lola for my family. I had lunch there a few years ago, and remember being really wowed by the food and atmosphere. Unfortunately, this time we went for dinner and it was a disappointment. First and foremost, the prices are not in line with the style, amount, or quality of food. They have structured the menu kind of like a steakhouse (everything extra), with kind of ridiculous pricing for what you get. Searching in vain for something reasonable priced, I ordered chicken kebobs, plus some dips to go on the side because the kebobs did not even come with rice. They would have been priced reasonably (I think around $17?) if they had come on a bed of rice. There were three skinny 1/2 size skewers - by no means close to the serving size I usually get at mediterannean restaurants. The spreads, while 'ok', were also nothing to write home about - their version of hummus (they call it something else) was bland, and really the only awesome spread on the plate was the feta cheese one. But that appetizer alone was $28, for six spreads in small bowls. Plus, you had to pay for extra pita bread. \nI was sad about this experience, because we made a point to visit Lola while in town, based on earlier experiences there.\nWe had an EXCELLENT lunch across the street though - at Dahlia Lounge.

My husband and I dined here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and shared the Tom's Big Dinner for two people. The cost was very reasonable considering the amount and diversity of courses we were served. We started with a bevy of spreads with fresh flatbread that had a range from dairy to veg to umami flavors, then moved onto an oregano-infused Greek salad with excellent creamy feta. Next, we were served succulent chicken skewers and squid skewers dressed in a beautiful, zesty chermoula sauce. The serving sizes were just enough to keep us interested and satiate our appetites without filling us up too much. Next came a full dinner course of roasted smashed whole potatoes, sauteed garlicky greens, and soft lamb roast. We took these home as leftovers after trying some of each because we were starting to get full. Finally, our dessert course included a soft, salty and sweet goat cheese turnover course sprinkled with rich honey and pistachios. The cheese was PERFECT with the honey and warm enough to melt away on contact with your mouth. What an excellent value for so much outstanding food! The lighting and ambiance was perfect--relaxed but not too casual, beautiful and thoughtful decor, and intimate enough to feel romantic. We had a blast.

I just visited Seattle for the first time this year and heard that I had to eat at one of Tom Douglas's restaurants. As I was doing research Lola kept popping up. I decided to go there with my best friend and it was one of the most casually delicious restaurants I went to in Seattle. The food was of another caliber and the environment was extremely intimate and low key. We got chicken and salmon skewers, roasted carrots, cauliflower, and sauteed greens. The lamb/smashed potatoes/bitter greens course was perfectly prepared and all dishes complimented each other. Dessert consisted of warm goat cheese filling, a perfect finish to a fine meal. This Tom Douglas Greek inspired restaurant does not disappoint. Five of us dined for dinner and started off with Greek Martinis before feasting on our Tom's Big Dinner. We ordered it for 4 and there was plenty of food although we did order ore of the fresh, hot, house made pitas to go with the selection of delightful dips. The skewers of squid were another favorite - so tender with a spicy green sauce. Service was most attentive and friendly from the moment we walked in the door. Cannot wait to return!

OK. So I wasn't exactly interested in celebrating my 65th birthday ( how could I possibly be that stinlin' old?) and planned on just ignoring the day. My two best pals had other plans for me! Dinner at Lola's. Hmmm, so it turns out to be one of my more memorable birthdays. Fabulous food...fabulous wait service...fabulous atmosphere. Such a terrific way to not celebrate my birthday. Cheers to Tom Douglas!!

I went to Lola with my girlfriend for our anniversary. Reservations were easy, we sat down immediately and we were greeting with some delicious wine recommendations. Given that we told them it was our anniversary, they sat us at an awesome table near a window and the kitchen (which we appreciated since we love to watch food go by) and were given a great rundown of the menu. \n\nThe food came in perfect time and was absolutely delicious. Definitely on the pricier side (200 dollars at the end of the night for two), though we did splurge as it was a special occasion.

My wife and I went to Lola because of Seattle's Restaurant Week, for which Lola offered a great deal on appetizers, entrées, and dessert. We had honey-glazed pork kebabs, leg of lamb, rockfish, strawberry-rhubarb sorbet, and loukoumades (Greek donuts). Our server recommended some fantastic wine that wasn't even that expensive, and paired nicely with the leg of lamb. The couscous with the rockfish was incredibly flavorful. And the potatoes with the leg of lamb were possibly the best potatoes we'd ever had. Apparently they're a destination menu item. The Greek donuts were a very strong finish to the meal; wow, those were good. And we tried a glass of armagnac with dessert, since that was sort of a unique opportunity. Over all an extremely delightful dining experience.

Food was amazing; I had the Eggs Benedict and Husband had the eggs, bacon, garlic homefries and toast deal. First off, everything is fresh; however, be warned, portions are HUGE. \n\nMy Eggs Benedict were perfect, but two eggs was a lot; I made a small dent in the second one, but left a lot on the plate. The eggs were cooked to perfection; the fresh ham tasty; and the homemade bread, which you can purchase from their bakery across the street, scrumptious.\n\nBoth my husband and I really enjoyed the garlic home fries. Prior to being seated, hubby enjoyed a Virgin Bloody Mary, which he said was amazing even without the alcohol, and I, a mimosa.\n\nOur waitress was friendly and attentive, but not intrusive. The noise level, however, is a lot; hubby and I had to practically shout to hear each other. \n\nAlso, we made our reservations well in advance of the Easter holiday, but this is a popular brunch location, so you'd be wise to do the same.\n\nMy husband is not a foodie (like me) and he's quite picky; however, that being said, we have found a place that meets, if not well exceeds, our expectations and a place where we both could enjoy the food.

We had just eaten at another Tom Douglas restaurant Serious Pie (which I'll review soon) and now wanted to get some coffee... and what goes well with coffee? Doughnuts! but not just any doughnuts... Tom Douglas' made-to-order doughnuts! So yeah...we were there for those little bites of heaven and the glorious two additions that went along with it. Our server, Jamie, was amazing! She was friendly and upbeat, but not overly so. She was always around, but never hovering. We were seated by 11:55 for our noon reservation and got our check at 12:22 and never once felt rushed or hurried, which I attribute to her (and probably the rest of the staff's) efficiency. We definitely could have spent more time here, but it wasn't necessary today.\n\nOnto the delicious food - I started off with my standard selection of a bloody mary, which didn't disappoint. I was worried it would be too spicy, but it was just perfect. I do wish their garnish was a little more inspired though. Then there was the eggs benedict, which was delightful - one of my favorite eggs bennys I've had. The smashed potatoes are a great complement to the benny...very yum. The bf had the Mergueez sausage scramble with feta and cilantro, smashed garlic fried potatoes, bacon, and toast...or at least that's what the online menu says he should have gotten, but there was no bacon on his plate. For $16, his plate seemed a bit weak, which was one of the reasons why the experience wasn't 5 stars. Does missing bacon that went unnoticed make this a 3 star experience? Not for me since I didn't suffer from the mishap ; )\n\nI just had to have the doughnuts and we opted to have them after our meal. Probably the best decision I've made all week. Fresh pillows of doughy goodness with mascarpone and huckleberry jam, who would say no to that? A crazy person! $9 for 6 sounds a bit steep, but trust me, you need these in your mouth.\n\nAll in all, the experience was great, but there's some room for improvement. We will definitely keep this delectable gem in our brunch rotation.

We were seated 45 minutes after our reservation time, even though we arrived 30 minutes early. The restaurant gave us 2 appetizers for the inconvenience which was nice, but when our orders arrived several were cool and some were overcooked and on the verge of being unedible. I am a regular visitor to Lola as i like the experience, location and more importantly the food. Overall the experience the fine but there were two things that we felt different this time\n\n- Greeting at the door - May be the person was new. She asked us to wait in the hallway as she was setting up the table. We waited for 25 min. but no one came. In the end, I had to go and ask her. I felt as if she didn't even remember that she asked us to wait in the hallway. Though we got our sit this time immediately. It never happened to us in Lola. This time I actually felt bad as my brother was visiting from New York and I brought him here for fine dining. \n- Wild Mushroom oyster Kabab - Every time we visit Lola, we order this. This time, the mushrooms didn't taste that fresh and juicy. It could just be my impression. \n\nMy brother really liked his burger, I was happy about it. I will still recommend this place to my friends and family but would hope to see Lola do better on the above.

It's no longer Tom's Big Breakfast, it's now Tom's Favorite Breakfast. Thankfully the name had changed but nothing else. It is still MY favorite breakfast ever. Changes every quarter, always with octopus and pork of some kind. Seasonal veggies and a superb greek yogurt underneath and a perfectly poached egg on top. I am an Eastside (Bellevue,Kirkland) person so going downtown is always a treat. I suggested a ladies night out that included dinner and a show at nearby Jazz Alley. Dinner at 7 pm and the show started at 9:30 pm.\nI had been to Lola's once but it has been a number of years. Lola's was better than I had remembered! Our greeting was friendly and enthusiastic, our reservation prompt. Our waitress was wonderful, explaining the decisions thoroughly, patient with questions and provided recommendations.\nWe started with an appetizer - pita bread and 2 spreads. Yummy! 2 of us ordered the steak w/garlic potatoes and the other diner ordered the half chicken w/garlic potatoes. Our waitress did explain the wait time for the half chicken (approx 25 min, no problem). Who wants undone chicken or partially cooked chicken from earlier that is reheated? Not us! It was well worth the wait! We were floored!\nI ordered my steak cooked med-well, cooked to perfection. I might add, this steak MAY kick Daniels Broiler Bellevue off of its pedestal for me. The other diner who had steak ordered hers med-rare with the olive mashed potatoes. Arrived perfectly cooked and she really enjoyed the twist to mashed potatoes!\nWe were too full for dessert and had a 9:30 reservation at Jazz Alley. Good food and service. Portions are on the less generous side, or, are about 20% to 25% overpriced. Mediterranean cultures feature an abundance of food and generosity of spirit and hospitality. This was not evident here. Tzaziki while very good comes in a small little condiment cullet and with one pita for $4.50 -- additional pita is $3.50. Chicken kabobs come with 3 skewers of 3 pieces of 'yakitori' sized chicken each for $15. Donuts are $9 for six bite sized beignet like donuts. Hard to justify the non-existent value proposition. Went on a Saturday so breakfast options looked more hearty and generous. Too bad -- could have hit it out of the park, but didn't.
