Great all around. My only complaint was that when I booked my reservation, the price was $49, but when I got my bill, it was $54. I checked the website, and sure enough, they raised the price on the website. It's now $60 on Sundays!\nIt's very good, but I'm not sure it's worth that.\nGuess as long as there are people willing to pay that much it is.

The valet, hostess, and food lived up to Salty's reputation, and was worth the price of admission. But, the service was far below average. The waiter seldom checked on us, and at some point, the manager stepped in to help for a while. Honestly, the manager was the single bright moment of the dining experience.

Went for Sunday Brunch and it was amazing. Starting with the free valet parking to having a \n11:30 reservation and actually being seated at 11:30. The buffet choices had something for\neveryone, especially like the crab and oysters. Unfortunately I didn't have any room for \ndessert, which was to bad - though I think I gained 5 lbs. just walking by the tables.

My wife and I have been going to Salty's for the past 25 years. We do so because we love the waterfront ambience and the food. Wine prices are heavy but that is consistent thruout the restaurant business. We will continue to patronize Salty's.

Maybe we just hit a bad night or shift because the experience was disappointing. I've been here for their fabulous brunch several times and thoroughly enjoyed it. But our appetizers were just okay and minimal size for four people. My husband's Mahi Mahi arrived cold, and he had to send it back for a replacement, but portion very small and everything a la carte. My brother-in-law's King Salmon wasn't outstanding according to him, yet my trout was delicious. The menu items are very expensive now and this was quite surprising to us since there are so many other great seafood restaurants that are comparable in price or slightly less with more food, (e.g. Seastar). Additionally, we had to ask our waiter twice to fill up our water glasses and felt bad since he was swamped with tables and we didn't notice any server assistants. The complimentary birthday desserts was a nice touch and the chef accommodated my dairy allergy. We had also hoped to acquire a window seat for a 6:30 pm reservation, but was unsuccessful. Though we did bring two of our favorite wines to liven up the evening. All in all, I would not go back for dinner. Too bad ....

When I arrived I notified them I had a reservation. They tell me it will be about 10 minutes. What is the reservation for? Even worse, a window table (that is the whole point of going, the view) that will be over 45 min. So I get a table without a nice view. The view is still OK looking through other people but not special.\n\nFood is really overpriced. It is OK but not worth what they are asking.

Great location and view of the Seattle skyline and water! Fabulous brunch with high quality fresh offerings. The fresh seafood was great (oysters on half shell, snow and Dungeness crab legs, seafood chowder), but there is something for everyone. They have made to order pasta, omelettes, crepes/pancakes, etc. Their salmon cream cheese is divine. Blackened salmon is also delicious. There was a make your own Bloody Mary stand, but I didn't try it (I didn't see anyone else try it either). Dessert are home made, and also included a chocolate and butterscotch fountain. There is also fruit and salads for those who want lighter offerings. Brunch is only served on the weekends, and you need reservations (easy through Open Table, but for large groups >6, call the restaurant). We had a group of 8, and got the corner front table with one of the best views in the restaurant. I highly recommend it. Great for special occasions too.

My boyfriend and I came here the weekend after Valentine's Day, and it was great! We didn't have to wait long to be seated, and when they were taking us to our table they asked if we had ever been in before. I didn't realize, but when I answered no, they deliberately sat us at the best seat in the house! Our table was right on the water, in the center, with the best view in the place. What a way to make repeat customers! The service was great, the only complaint I have was that our water was not refilled! But that was a small inconvenience in the grand scheme of things. The coconut dusted prawns were great, and the cedar smoked salmon was excellent. We had the white chocolate and raspberry cake for dessert, which was also delicious. Overall the food here is exceptional. Along with world class views and amazing service. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back again soon!

The food was very good, they were clearly very busy. Traffic was bad so we were about 15 minutes late for our reservation, and then they kept us waiting for another 15-20 minutes to seat us, and then they seated us at a table that really felt like it was in an aisle... I was not super thrilled with the table due to it's location seemingly in the middle of the traffic. However at this point I'd planned on eating almost 45 minutes earlier and I was HUNGRY, so we didn't quibble, took our seats and immediately ordered an appetizer which the waiter rushed out for us. I was better after that, service and food was good, but they really shouldn't seat people at that table, it wasn't optimal.

I took my mother for brunch for Valentine's day. The weather was clear and sunny. We sat at a corner booth next to the windows and enjoyed the spectacular view of the Seattle Skyline. We love seafood. The snow crab legs, Dungeness crabs, oysters on the half shell were fresh. The various forms of salmon were delicious. Crepes were made to order. The prime rib was tender and tasty. The chocolate and caramel fountains were spectacular. Our waiter, Adam was polite and very attentive. We will be back.

As expected, our experience was once again - amazing! Yes, we expected the brunch buffet to be decadent but what makes an experience more memorable also is the service. Our server Chrissy [really short hair cut, blonde, hip and beautiful] is the best! Not only she is personable but really pays attention to everyone on the table. What makes her amazing? She helped my mother-in-law box up take outs [paid for extra] for her disabled family member. I've had brunch at Salty's about 30 times going back from year 2000 thru today. I hate to say this, but the last visit, the food was unusually underwhelming. Prime rib was flavorless and even my favorite section, the pasta and omelette stations were grossly underwhelming and that's a first. The food 'preps' & servers at the buffett were awesome. Our waiter on the other hand? Seemed real uptight and seemed to be clock watching, letting us know 3 or 4 times how much time we had. Although he tried to do it in a friendly way ,(he literally looked like he had to make an effort to be friendly) it was off putting. I'll go back again because I think this was the exception and not the rule. Just kind of sucked because my wife & child were looking forward to it. We usually go once or twice a year so....

Had visited Saltys at Alki Beach for lunch several years ago and really enjoyed the experience. This time not really and was disappointed. We were celebrating my daughter's 20th birthday. She and her friend were also disappointed. The waiter was ok; but forgot items. He tried to be funny; but not so much. The view of Seattle was really nice and helped make the evening special anyways. \n\nWhen we arrived I saw that there was parking available, so I elected to not use Valet parking. One Valet was nice and pointed to where I saw the available parking. I really appreciated him doing this, since he knew we were not using his services. After dinner, I got the car and had my daughters and friend walk their 86 year old grandmother down the stairs and to the car. While I was waiting in front near the stairs, I was asked by the Valets to move forward, so they could get other people into their car. I mentioned waiting for my 86 year old mother and if they might be able to assist her by pointing to my car's location. I moved forward quite a ways to give them room. What disappointed me was hearing conversation about being cheap and not using the Valet service. No attempt was made to let my daughters and mother know where the car was located. I had to get out of the car and wave them down. I left with a bad taste about Saltys at Alki and will unfortunately remember this experience instead of a wonderful 20th birthday experience. We went to the Space Needle for my daughter's 18th Birthday and had a wonderful time and still think favorably of that special occasion. \n\nMy son's 18th birthday is a month away and I will be looking to find a nice restaurant to celebrate the occasion and build good memories. My younger daughter's 18th birthday is a few years away; but I don't think she will be picking Saltys at Alki.

Our waitress offered a vegetarian option for one of our party, which the first server didn't mention. The specials and menu items were presented, not just explained. Two in our party opted for the special filet, which was a taste explosion. Over the next couple of months, we have various family in town, and where Salty's had fallen to the lower half of our 'Go to' list, Friday's experience has moved it back to the top. Well done.

As always great food, great customer service. The only thing that this time was not as pleasant as my early morning visit was that by 1pm they were not filling food it was like everyone was trying to get out of there for the playoff game which was disappointing as I was not able to get somethings because they were empty and staff was in the line getting food so I knew shift was ending. Side work was being completed already but yet everyone was still eating it was not my best experience at 12:15 eating time.

The only thing negative about Brunch at Salty's is that it's as expensive as you can get. But that has to be considered with the amount and variety of food they offer, and high quality. If you want all you can eat crab and oysters, then this will satisfy you. And the view, if you get a good table, is hard to beat. So...be ready to pay, and go hungry!

The server was very polite and knowledgeable about the menu. Also the chef sent us some free dessert to take home as an anniversary gift. The atmosphere was very relaxing, live jazz music was playing and the view of the Seattle city skyline and the space needle over the water was breathtaking. Finally, the food was AMAZING. I had the scallops and my boyfriend had the steelhead (thankfully he let me have some and try it). Definitely coming back for our next anniversary.

When one is charged premium pricing, one expects premium service. Waited for menus, waited for water, chowder instead of salad as requested, cold bread and very late, appetizer served almost simultaneous to meal, 2nd glass of wine served after meal was over...just POOR. My family was in town from New York and everyone complained about the food. The salad was sub-par and no effort seemed to be made to make it nicer. A wedge of lack-luster lettuce and tomatoes that tasted like they were just defrosted with average dressing that tasted store bought. The chowder was slim on ingredients and tasted like someone added cayenne pepper to it and both parties that ordered it complained (to me) that it was somewhat hot. The bread tasted day old and the burger was delivered luke warm. This was the first time I made a reservation for dinner here but I would ONLY go back for brunch. The view was perfection, but I was trying to give my family a WOW experience and that didn't happen.

Absolutely fabulous food (although be prepared for a pricey menu), terrific drinks, and great staff.\n\nWe take all of our out-of-town friends and family here and they love it. Plus, it is right down the street from the Seattle version of the Statue of Liberty. Fun to go down there for pictures. Right on the sand at the beach.\n\nYou can also get to Salty's on the convenient ferry that leaves from downtown Seattle on a regular basis and drops you off just a short distance from the restaurant. I had such a bad experience at Salty's, I will never recommend them. We had 7:30p reservation, we didn't get seated until close to 9p. My food was cold, and the steak was not great for the price (I paid $250 for meal that was no better - and somewhat worse - than you would expect from an Applebees). It was really noisy, compounded by the hostess yelling at the top of her lungs for the next party every 15 minutes. I mentioned it was my wife's birthday and was told they would do something nice - which they did not; they even forgot the champagne that I reminded them about when we sat down. They forgot several items for the meal, and the dessert wasn't even very good. Lesson learned. I will not return.

Invited guests to join my husband and me for a quiet dinner. Asked for a quiet table so that we could have a nice conversation since we had not gotten together in a year. We were- given table too close to another table with loud people. To make matters worse our waiter was 'very jubilant' - that is - he talked too fast, too much and way too loud - then kept interrupting our conversation. We could also hear his every word at nearby tables. Upon taking our order, the waiter pressured the other three to order soup or salad along with entree. He asked over and over why didn't they want something first before entree. Three had the coho salmon special which all pronounced mediocre. I had seafood chowder which VERY thick (corn starch?) and bland. My entree was fish and chips - 'tempura' fish but not like any Japanese fish tempura I have ever had - very greasy. Chips were greasy fries. I started getting a stomach ache mid meal. Lemonade was delicious. We never had a good conversation and the food was terribly so-so or bad. We all agreed that we would not return.

The cold white bread served with cold butter. \nMy order, king salmon, I can tell from the test the defrosted piece of salmon with white rice some jalapeño pesto . Nothing else on the plate. My dessert was creme brulee, I couldn't take more than two bites. I have tested a better creme Brule in local coffee shops for way less price. We always have a great experience at Salty's but this time unfortunately we didn't... The menu has changed and some of our favs were no longer in the menu. The bread was not the good and warm bread they always serve, it was a really bad one, the butter was fridge temperature... Our server was the least enthusiastic, he didn't introduce himself either. It was freezing in our area...people around us were eating with the jacket on...and that's something that a server should notice. It took forever for our main dishes to be served....when they came in we felt like we should already be eating dessert, and they were SO average...(lobster tail and risotto). We typically choose Salty's for special occasions and it was not what we were expecting at all.... Some changes were noticeable, for bad!!

We were there a little earlier in the evening so it was not overly busy, and while we did not get there in time for one of the first-come-first-served window tables, we had a booth on the raised section so still had the view. I would call ahead and verify the details of the FCFS tables, I think they open them at a certain time.\n\nThe server was very polite, professional, friendly and knowledgeable and made our visit that little more pleasurable. As for the price, it was what we expected but some items was 'off the chart' but you often find that at a high end place.\n\nIn summary, great service, friendly staff, great (although a tad pricy) food, and great view.

Upon entering Salty's location, it's best to do valet. Finding parking may be difficult. I wasn't crazy about the bar area. It looked very casual and there were some flies that I don't like to see in restaurants. My mojito also wasn't good. Mint leaves looked a bit welted. They switched out my drink but it made me a little scared as to what to expect next. But I was pleasantly surprised when we were taken to our table and found a beautiful view of the city. The dining area was much more elegant than the bar area.\nVisiting for the first time in Seattle, I knew I had to try seafood so we ordered oysters. I never ordered oysters before but these oysters tasted so clean and delicious. I couldn't believe it. For appetizer, I ordered Lobster Bisque. For entree, I had the Alaskan King Crab Legs and my husband had the Lobster tail and Filet Mignon. We couldn't stop saying, 'Mmm'. For dessert, we ordered the Salty's sundae which was just what I needed.\nIn summary, we had a great sunny Seattle day with a awesome view. We love seafood and have been to many cities to have seafood. This was the best seafood we've had in a long time. Despite the experience in the bar area, we had a great experience in the dining. Our waitress was also awesome. She took care of us and provided excellent service. When we visit Seattle again, this will be our seafood dining place. The manager suggested sitting outside on the water next time. Will do.

I have long loved Salty's on Alki Beach. The food and service are usually impecable, but I will confess to being very disappointed in their revamped dessert menu this evening. My all time favorite, Baked Alaskan, has been eliminated. Evidently a server had gotten burned while preparing the sweet treat recently and they decided to dump it from the menu entirely. Honestly, they could have dropped the 'show' and kept it on the menu by using a torch to brown the merengue in the kitchen! I for one won't be in a rush to return anymore as I always looked forward to capping off my dinner with this tasty treat and it's just not the same without it.

Salty's does not diasappoint. Our guests were very impressed as it was their first time there. The view is unparalleled in Seattle when it comes to views of the city skyline. We all enjoyed our food and our seafood was cooked perfectly as well as creatively. I.e. Scallops on a bed of shredded cauliflower in a cream sauce covered with fish caviar. Regarding service, at first we were feeling a bit neglected, but they rallied and it was where it should have been. Wine service was friendly and informed. I knew so because I am well informed about various wines. We were impressed with the wine-by-the-glass selections and pricing. Good job there! Their famous white chocolate mousse cake is stellar and they found a way to improve upon it by slicing it from a quarter sheet as opposed to wedges from a round cake. It is not to be missed! Noise level was VERY high and too high, but what can one expect in a packed restaurant on a festive night.

And when I finally did get it, I took a few sips to discover that the cup was dirty. Ugh.... Food was marginal. Fried seafood items were overcooked and chewy; the crab and lox were mushy, and my oysters tasted 'off.' The mac & cheese was good, but that's a pretty expensive way to enjoy macaroni. We had a lot of fun taking pictures with the nutcracker displays in and outside the restaurant. Everything looked so festive. Thanks to our waiter and valet for taking pictures of us all. Food, ambiance, service were fantastic! A great time had by all! Thanks Salty's on Alki!!

Salty's has a beautiful setting and is a great place to watch the sunset, but the restaurant needs some updating. It is pricey and there are many restaurants in Seattle with much better food. It is almost as if they value quantity over quality. The rice was sticky and awful and the shrimp and scallops weren't spiced well and had big globs of pesto. I think the clam chowder was my favorite. My husband had the salmon special and it was ok. Overall the food was disappointing.

We'd been to Sally's three times previously. Good experience each time. This was different. The apps were over salty, the main course literally smelled like sewage. We both had filet, broccolini and garlic mashed potatoes. The bacon wrap was almost raw, the food cold and again, the place stunk! I smelled it the moment it was set in front of me/us. We both ordered the same Entre. We won't return, sorry, but $200+ dollars on a special occasion to have it ruined is enough. Change your recipes and get rid of the item that smells like sewage, it ruins meals.

I have never commented on a meal but this was not very good. Service was slow, empty drink glasses most of the night, waiter was aloof, I had to ask where my appetizer soup was, which then arrived with the main meal - waiter said 'oops, forgot to ask for the soup earlier.' Dungeness crab arrived basically cold. Beautiful location but, boy......some time will need to pass for me to forget our lousy experience to consider trying it again. Maybe bad luck, who knows, just astonishingly underwhelming.

The views and service here were excellent, but I found the brunch a little disappointing. All the crepes were premade and just reheated with a filling in the skillet and when I didn't have a plate there they made me go get one. I've never seen a station like that without plates. The warming tray food was good, but not fabulous and the chowder was more like pudding that was too salty. It was busy but not overcrowded so I am glad we went Saturday, our server said Sunday was even busier. The complimentary valet parking took the worry out of finding a place to park and getting in on time. I might go back.

I had eaten at the other Salty's near the airport years ago, so I wanted to try this one while on vacation with my family from St. Louis. We had outdoor dining and the weather was perfect. We didn't have any rain on our trip to Seattle and Portland until we returned to St. Louis a few days after the 4th of July. The food was excellent at Salty's and the waiter was funny and engaging. And very attentive to our every need. I started with a local beer, but switched to a glass of red wine later and was pleased to see Josh wine on your list -- a personal favorite of ours in St. Louis. The food was prepared perfectly. The view was great across the water toward downtown, except for the barge with garbage on it parked in between. Of course Salty's has no control of shipping in the Sound. But we had a great time eating outside on the water on a beautiful day.

Quality of the seafood was fairly decent for a brunch style though shrimp tasted frozen as did other items. The desserts were mediocre besides the dumpling. I am a long time West Seattlite and have been to Salty's many times for both business and personal celebrations. It's always been a top dollar venue and the view is worth it. The past few times I have been there, the quality of the food has declined. This time it was really not worth the price. I had the scallops, prawns and polenta. It was a $36+ ? dollar meal. The entire bowl of food was cold. I could have sent it back, but was on a schedule and didn't want the others to wait to eat. I was hosting out of town guests from Atlanta and recommended the white choc signature cake....it too has changed and not anything like it used to be. We've been to Salty's four times now: Three times for brunch and most recently for dinner. My husband always thinks it's a neat place to take people when they come in to visit. And, I will give it to him, the view is spectacular. I thought that perhaps it was just brunch that was overpriced - completely understanding that while they have a large spread it was not worth the money. But the service for brunch was always outstanding. More recently, we go for dinner, where I was expecting great food and great service. But instead it was terrible all around. The food was not good - my steak was overcooked when I ordered medium-rare, our server rarely came to our table, my husband displeased with his meal. It was at that point where I decided that the view alone will not bring us back to Salty's. My husband finally agreed. I want to like it but they just make it so hard.

We should have been allowed to wait for our preferred seating. Our server Chrissy was outstanding, attentive, but not hovering. We would request her section again. The view is obviously a great addition to the experience! The pumpkin bisque with curry was outstanding and I would love the recipe :) the steelhead and steak were both served rare (my preference, but we weren't asked what temperature was preferred).\nThe flourless chocolate cake with passion fruit and mango was confusing - I didn't understand the combination with all three flavors on my fork, but I'd choose to be left quizzical than bored any day! \nThe restaurant has an older style and I'd like to say that I don't like the rainbow of colored balloons at the different tables with anniversaries or birthdays. It made me feel like I was in a Ground Round restaurant. My suggestion would be to choose certain colors like red, orange, and yellow. Another day maybe greens and blues\nThanks for the experience! I'll be back!

We went to dine here for the Seattle Restaurant Week and the food was really good. I am a little bit disappointed of the serving compared to the other restaurant we went to. Kate, or server, was excellent. That is a plus. Our reservation was at 5pm and had to wait for 10 mins for our table which was not bad but the was so high from this establishment that punctuality should be a must. But the experience was very good.

Went to the Saturday Brunch. The brunch has an incredible amount of quality food and variety. The oysters and crab were especially good. For those from Washington State, the Fisher Fair scones in the waiting area was a great touch. \n\nNash our waiter was attentive with an upbeat attitude.\n\nHighly recommended for special occasions and viewing back at the Seattle skyline.

The purpose of this visit was for a family member who now lives here but has spent 40 years in Phoenix and has never been to Salty's. This was quite an experience for her. Jordan was superb - we never lacked for any time of attention and everything requested was provided.\n\nThe food, as always, was wonderful - there were a variety of choices selected/consumer from the Halibut, the Lobster, Salmon, Shrimp, etc. All were done to the desired choice - presentation was great.\n\nWe're just never had a bad experience at Salty's at Alki.

Loud fellow diners discussing anti-Semitism, Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, British occupation of Vietnam, distorted religion, inheriting Third World problems, sports...and Jesus. Couldn't hear my wife talk to me. All those diners transmogrified to lesser Greek philosophers and then time-traveled for a lesson in Socratic reasoning. Maybe I just chose the wrong wine.

Salty's is a restaurant that showcases everything that Seattle is all about. It has, by far, the best view of any restaurant in Seattle. It also has great seafood of the Pacific Northwest. The service reflects the friendly personality found everywhere in the city. If you have out-of-town guests, this is a must go to restaurant.

This place has one of the best brunch buffets ever. It just goes on and on and on. The only problem is fitting in as much as you want to try in one visit.

With a name like Salty's, you could expect a campy atmosphere with lost of fried frozen fish chips, but you'd be missing some decent seafood. Yes, there's a lot of nautical themed decorating and the high volume of visitors makes the entry a bit worn, but the huge numbers of cars in the parking lot probably telegraphs the fact that it's a popular place, even on Tuesday afternoons. Yes, there's plenty of fried items, but a discerning reader can find some well-executed if not terribly innovative piscine choices, fit for a foodie. (Even if a typical NW-foodie might have problems being seen at such a mass-market venue. :) I don't know that you have to go all the way to Alki for seafood, but if you're out west, and places like Cassis aren't your cup of tea, or you have your young cousins along for a family event, then Salty's is surprisingly good.

Had a great view of downtown Seattle. There was a wedding reception happening down below. Had brunch at 1pm and they closed down the food bar around 2:45pm which was still plenty of time. Took advantage of EVERYTHING, chowder soup still amazing, crab legs and drawn butter. The omelette station was good, didn't try the pasta bar or the meat station or fresh oysters. Did the crepe station, i was shocked they don't make the crepes from scratch anymore, they used premade crepes and just heated it up... also, would have loved a savory option and not just sweets. Enjoyed the dessert bar also, carrot cake was amazing!!! I like that they have a caramel fountain, not just the chocolate fountain. Great experience! Request Chrissie (sp?), she's amazing!!!

We have been long time guests of Salty's. \nWe have even rented your party room for a celebration.\n\nSunday, we were celebrating in the main dining room and sat next to a family with a young child who cried for 2 hours. The child was clearly unhappy. Our meal and conversation were impacted. Our server did nothing to suggest they leave or remove the child who was clearly disturbing others. When we asked, she said Salty's did not have a policy and suggested we provide a comment to management.\n\nI hope Salty's considers a policy for crying children that respects their other guests.\nThe two of us spent over $150 - and I will choose another restaurant for celebrations in the future.

We have had a previous good experience with our meal here. We went on a Saturday late afternoon for an early dinner with visiting family.\nWe were disappointed with the quality of the food, the limited menu and inconsistent service.\nEveryone was very accommodating and friendly but when our salads arrived, the server did not offer us freshly ground pepper which was disappointing especially since later on in our meal we saw a man walking around with a mill grinding Pepper for customers. Our waiter was very busy and took a long time getting us things for our meals. It could have been better. The two dishes that our table ordered was very greasy and deep fried, nothing special. Comparable to fast food seafood. All for exorbitant prices. A disappointment to say the least.\nOne thing I noticed was that they had many different people doing different jobs. Continuity was lost. Our waiter didn't serve the food, the server that brought out the salads should have offered freshly ground pepper. Our waiter no where to be found, no follow up for a long time. Another server brought us out our meals. Things were requested and getting our waiter to come back to check on us was painful. We had to get up to get his attention. With so many different people serving us created this disconnect. The waiter had no way of knowing when to follow up.\nYou definitely pay for the view here, not quality of food or service to be honest. I would just expect better service and food for a restaurant who charges upwards of $90 for fish.

Oh Dear! This restaurant was such a disappointment. We had made a reservation several weeks ahead of time and even arrived early. When we arrived we were completely ignored by the front of house staff, they were too busy to even acknowledge our presence. When we said we were 15 minutes early we were herded into the lounge to wait for our table. Our server was lovely, she was attentive and professional. After waiting for an hour we asked if we were going to be seated at our table any time soon and was told we had now moved up to 3rd on the wait list. Moral of the story, don't bother with a reservation as they are ignored anyway, rather it's first come first served. When we were eventually seated we ordered our meals, again another disappointment. I ordered the Rockfish which was presented as a cold, semi cooked piece of fish on a plate, smothered in an oily residue accompanied by a handful of green beans. Also thrown on the plate was three olives and a grape tomato, I guess that's what they were calling a tapenade (?). We were not going to complain but the floor manager came by and made excuses as to why our experience was so poor, she 'comped' our meals and tried to offer us a gift voucher for a future time which we refused. I will not be back.

My fiancee, her friend, and I all went to Salty's for dinner on the night after Christmas. We had very slow service for everything, which was frankly inexcusable when it came to checking for drink refills. My fiancee's entree was late; they brought the other two out and we sat there not eating because we felt bad, even though she was encouraging us to begin while it was still hot, which we eventually did do.\n\nA solid 10 minutes after we received our entrees, they brought hers out; and it was the wrong one. Wow. We pointed this out and the server was like, 'Oh, crap; you're right!' and went back to get the proper one made ASAP.\n\nIt took 19-20 minutes for them to bring hers out. It was the right one this time, but a solid 30 minutes after we had received ours and we had finished eating. To make a point, as soon as the server brought it, she requested that it be boxed up because we were ready to leave. They comped hers, which is merely to be expected.\n\nI ended up going to the bar and requesting to speak with the manager, and explained what had happened. I said I wasn't looking for anything, but that frankly at a place like this, I expect fairly good service overall. He handed me a $50 gift card and gave me his business card, asking me to feel free to call him directly the next time we returned to ensure a great experience.\n\nTo be fair, the food on our first visit was pretty good.\n\nWe did end up coming back for the brunch buffet on 01/23/16, but the food wasn't up to par. The ham was surprisingly lacking in flavor, the prime rib was overcooked, the eggs benedict was cold, and the heated crab legs (they do offer three different kinds, two cold and one hot) were absolutely smothered in cayenne pepper making them ridiculously hard to open as if crab legs weren't already annoying enough to deal with.\n\nThe best thing we all agreed we had was the pineapple mimosa. Considering the $46.50 cost per person of the buffet, the $30 ones in Las Vegas are better quality.

My wife booked a table for two with a nice view of Seattle downtown. The views were fantastic, Seattle area is the best during summers. We are vegetarians so we know the options are few to none. We had the salad paired with an amazing red wine. The chef made us a pasta which was delicious. Overall, great experience. Will be visiting again in summers.

The overall evening was mostly good, however, our entrées were served moments after our salads were served... significant mistake. The waiter just waited while we tried to make room on the table for our entrées. We didn't know if it was a misstate or getting the push to turn the table???\n\nThe seated us on time and the view is the reason to visit Salty's.

My husband & I usually go to happy hour because the food is excellent and good value. This time, I was with folks from work and was disappointed in the main dining room. the huge appetizer my friend ordered was expensive but good. I ordered a caesar salad with crab. It was over saturated with dressing and very little crab on it. Glad I had a king crab leg from the appetizer. I looked at the entrees of the 4 others... very small entrees at a premium price. One guy said his fish was not worth $44 because it turned out a little dry. If Salty's is going to charge alot of the entrees, the food better be prepared well. Think I will continue to eat in the bar during happy hours.

Everything was wonderful as usual. We were celebrating my boyfriend's birthday and he requested the Brunch Buffet after trying it last year while on vacation in the Seattle area. Everything was wonderful. Our waitress was awesome! Wish I got her name, because she really went above and beyond! The ONLY downfall was the omelet station seemed to be run by someone fairly new, still was good, but I ordered an egg over hard, but was very runny inside. Nonetheless we still had an amazing brunch and will return again for sure!

I was really looking forward to taking my out of town guest here for a great brunch, but was not highly impressed. The best thing about this brunch was the seafood of course, but everything else was dried out and seemed like it had been sitting on the table for quite awhile.\n\nThe view of course is gorgeous but for an upscale restaurant with valet service, the food really should be better. The prime rib and ribs were dried out from sitting under the sunlamp. Same with the egg scramble and hash browns that had so much cheese stuck on them that had cooled and dried it was almost impossible to get any out of the pan.\n\nIt actually just seemed like an upscale Old Country Buffet. Kids were also running around screaming under the tables!\n\nHow about a few more gluten free options as well?

Server was attentive and friendly. As I can't eat dairy, I was asking about their menu and chose an option which suited me best. When the meal came, the fish was BEAUTIFUL - very well cooked. However, it was just that. The chef had decided to take other items off my plate as they actually did contain dairy. So, firstly the answers to my questions were wrong and secondly, the chef obviously didn't even try to accommodate. I was left feeling miserable as this was our last night in Seattle and we had chosen this over a fantastic sounding restaurant. I wish we had gone there instead. Having said that, the view was brilliant and the server dealt with my complaint very well.

Very noisy, very crowded, long wait in lines for crab, oysters, prime rib, not a comfortable venue for Seniors. Also, the waitress was aware that Seniors receive a lower price for the brunch, but presented me with a bill for the full price. If I hadn't made my reservation on line, I probably would not have known about the discount. It was quite obvious that both my friend and I are in our 70's. When I questioned the bill, the waitress instantly changed it to the Senior price. When presented with the corrected bill, it suggested at least a 20% tip. Considering the fact that the waitress only placed new silverware on our table and we did the rest by serving ourselves, that got cut in half. I have been to Salty's for lunch mid-week and enjoyed it much more.

The reviews for this restaurant always talk about the terrible service and the pricey menu. Well, the menu reflects the items, seafood is expensive. I thought our server was great, I love the traditional style of serving that they use at Salty's on Alki. I hate it when I get different people all night, taking my order, then bringing my food, clearing the dishes, and checking up on me. I like to tip the person that waits on my table and it's hard to do that with 4 or more people doing one server's job. Not to mention that you get to know your server a little better if they are the one doing everything. Having one server gives you a chance for genuine interaction with the person that is taking care of your restaurant experience. Oh yeah, and we ordered the grand seafood... Which I can see why people would like it... However, on our next trip, my wife and I both agree that we will probably just do the oysters and actually get an entrée each. The seafood was all well seasoned and perfectly cooked. We look forward to our next special occasion. Salty's on Alki will definitely get repeat business from us.

I made reservations a week or two ahead of time because we were coming to Seattle from Austn for our 28 year wedding Anniversary. I asked for a great table on the water with a view of the city. I picked Salty's for our special anniversary dinner. When we arrived the hostess said she could not garentee a table on the water, I mentioned my reservations and she she got snippy with me and said she could see the reservations but it still didn't mean I would get a table on the water. Then we were taken to the bottom patio where there was no table available, we were left standing down on the patio surrounded by people eating while the hostess went to check on the mistake. Finally we were taken to a nice table on the top patio with a nice view. All very unprofessional. Then our waitress was nice but again not very professional and didn't provide good service. While we did end up accidentally getting a good table and the food was good the experience was not great for the $$$. We do not spend that kind of money for dinner often but when we do we usually are treated very well. We honestly liked several other places we ate at in Seattle much more for much less. We loved Matt's in the market, Lowell's, and Salish Lodge & Spa at Sonqualime Falls. Basically we were disappointed.

Everything was perfect.......the food, atmosphere, service. All just perfect. Everyone in our party had beer and we all felt there was a great selection of drafts beers to select from. So, we really didn't look at the rest of the drink menu but others have told us they have a good wine and cocktail selection as well. \n\nThe food was also excellent. I don't remember everything everyone had but I what I can remember was well prepared and delicious. The coconut prawns are particularly good. Salads, chowder, halibut, and salmon were all excellent. We all had seafood although there were some non seafood selections (steak, chicken). \n\nThe atmospheres so fantastic. Great views of Seattle, Elliott Bay and Mount Rainier. It is a fairly large place and the tables are well spaced so you don't feel like you are right on top of anyone else. The noise level was great for having conversation. If there was music playing I couldn't tell it which kept the overall noise down. I really hate a restaurant that is so loud you have to shout to be heard. \n\nThe service was exceptional. Our waitress was simply outstanding. We never felt rushed nor did we ever feel neglected. She struck the perfect balance. She was friendly and very helpful with her descriptions of menu items. \n\nThe parking is the only area of complaint. I watched other staff attend to everyone's needs, but not one person even looked my way. I finally got the attention of a person cleaning the floor & clearing tables & told him I haven't had a wait staff for quite a while. He went to get someone. I enjoy taking out of town guests to my favorite meal-with-a-view in Seattle. On this very pleasant night we sat out on the patio and enjoyed a leisurely meal. Good thing it was not rushed, because the service certainly wasn't. My guests and I were fine with it because we had no agenda, and a great view. Food was absolutely great.

One hiccup in service reason for 3 rather than 4 stars. Ordered side vegetable and it came as salad course instead of with entrée and was cold when I ate it. Asked to have it warmed up and it didn't come back. Finally had to ask waiter again and it came after done eating. At that point would have cancelled the item but that option not given. Still enjoyed the evening....food was delicious and view of Seattle was beautiful.

We had dinner at saltys last Thursday to celebrate our 3 year wedding anniversary and we had a disappointing experience. The food was great but the service was very slow and they put us in a corner away from the water next to a family with screaming kids. It was loud and hard to enjoy our dinner. The waiter was friendly but seemed really stressed and took a while to even come over and get us water. Of course we will be back for brunch and maybe dinner especially since this was where we had our 1st date 5 years ago but hoping that the service and ambiance is better. Still would recommend Salty's to anyone for a date night or great brunch.

We experienced cold food and still cold when re-served, food served to the wrong customer and not corrected easily, less than satisfactory fish, over priced fish that tasted only fair. I had better rockfish at Local 369 than at Salty's and it was far less expensive. Finally there were DEAD lobsters and crab in the LIVE lobster and Crab tanks. Poor show all around. The only thing going for it was the view. Oh and the bottle of wine we ordered was good. The waiter was not very attentive. We took our Seattle friend to Salty's to thank her because she had been to the restaurant years ago. Our impression is that Salty's is running on a reputation that it cannot match today.

I have only been to Salty's brunch. I have never been for lunch or dinner. \nI have enjoyed the brunch several times over the years with family & friends on special occasions, birthdays, & before holiday get togethers. I'm sad to say that over the last couple years the brunch service has gone down. I understand that Salty's strives for a high turn over during the brunch hour. I don't mind the friendly reminder that is given when you check in about limiting your parties time. While most servers have been friendly you can tell they must be under some kind of pressure it shows in the service provided. It used to be you could relax, enjoy your time at brunch unfortunately now it feels like there is a limited amount of time. \nThere is one male server in particular that has been rude on more than one occasion. Since his poor service was displayed on more than one occasion it's obvious he has issues. Clearly his bad behavior wasn't due to having a bad day although in that line of work having a bad day shouldn't be reflected in the service you provide. \nI understand that Salty's striving for a high turn over for the brunch hour but it is clearly affecting their overall service . It doesn't sit well to make reservations, pay a good amount of money for brunch only to have the experience spoiled by bad service. Bad service whether it be a good server feeling pressured to meet a high turn over or a bad attitude coming from a server making you feel like they clearly want you gone. The last two experiences I've had have made me want to find a new place to go with family and friends. A place that will appreciate my business & show it.

Parking is very limited and the entrance was not marked adequately. We\n came about 10 minutes before our reservation time and were told the table wouldn't be available until the reservation time. Delicious, epic brunch. Both quality and quantity. Try this at least once a year....then, go to the gym and work it off! I loved the Dungeness Crab; wish they had King Crab. They had Dungeness and Snow Crab (delicate flavor, but more fussy to de-crustaceanize). Also wish they'd had halibut, but I think it probably doesn't keep so well on a hot-table, so that's understandable.

I've eaten here a couple of times of the past few years, always on business, because I couldn't afford it otherwise. It has a spectacular view of the Seattle skyline, and attractive interior, excellent service and a wide variety of standard and non-standard seafood (as well a few steaks and such for the non-seafood eaters, but this is primarily a seafood restaurant). My business dinner last week, which involved two people and two draft beers, clams/mussels for appetizers, a good fish for entrée, and dessert, was $185 including tip. This is typical; figure about $90/person if each person drinks little, and add $15 per person for each additional drink.

This is a great place to dine and enjoy a wonderful view. I thought the food was well prepared. It is true that the menu is a bit pricy, but the reality is that you are going to this restaurant in part for the view. They have to pay for the view when they pay rent, so it doesn't offend me that they charge a little more. As other reviews on this site indicate, the service is not what you would expect at an upscale restaurant. The staff seems to work hard, but they must have to cover too many tables.

The entrees were much better. I had the halibut and my husband had the tuna - both were very good, but no better than what I have had at Bonefish ( for less $$$). We had dinner at Salty's to kick-off Restaurant Week. We have made reservations through Open Table before and we have experienced the same problem: we specifically request a table (not a booth) and that info doesn't get picked up -- we are escorted to a booth, then told (after the eyeroll) we must go back to the front lobby and wait, and wait, and wait, for a table. THEN, we've been given the same table: a table at a very busy corner with lots of customer and wait staff traffic and a wait station about 4 feet from our table.\n\nWhen you catch great weather, you simply cant beat the views; however, in the three years we have lived in Seattle and been coming to Salty's we've noticed a continued downward spiral in the overall attentiveness of the wait staff and the overall quality of the food. For example, I had a Korean Chili dish; the same dish, I thought, that I'd ordered and thoroughly enjoyed during Restaurant Week last Fall. This recent serving was much drier and tougher and it was served with dry, hard rice pasta instead of the creamy mashed potatoes I had with the dish last time.\n\nWe have a $100 gift card that we plan to use toward a Saturday brunch this Spring, then, I doubt we'll be back for a while. The food and service just doesn't merit the prices.

We love brunch at Salty's. Our only issue was how close our table was to the others. It seemed as though extra tables were added for brunch. This resulted in the table next to us knocking over their own drinks as they got in/out of their booth, and our own table having to move slowly to get in/out of our own seats (especially as there was a main walkway behind two of us). Also, at one point our server topped off a cup of hot chocolate with coffee, but we survived that mishap :) Many thanks for an overall great experience - we went home with full, satisfied bellies and hearts.

We were able to get a spot right on the water and the service was great. The filet mignon was perfect, the cold seafood platter was really good (shrimp cocktail, octopus, another type of shrimp, just didnt like the sardines that much haha) also split a combo plate (coconut prawns, calamari, and crabcake). The crabcake was phenomenal (a lotta crab and not just a bunch of bread and other stuff). To top it off, the white chocolate mousse cake was sooo good! Pretty light, but amazing and had a raspberry sauce dripped over it. Great ambiance and really nice place to take a date or for a special occasion!

I've been going to Salty's for years. I was born in Seattle so Salty's was a go-to restaurant for special occasions such as Birthdays and out of town family and friends. I took my family to Salty's for my wife's Birthday and was disappoint to see how high the prices were. We aren't afraid to pay for excellent food but $38 for 3 scallops and 3 shrimp on polenta that was mediocre is a bit greedy. Every dish at our table was over priced. I checked the box that said I'd recommend Salty's only because of the view and I'd warn them about the prices. Sorry but I don't think I'll be going back even with the fabulous view. Ray's has a great view and superior food.

Salty's is stuck in the past. It's a new era. Celiac disease and gluten intolerance are not uncommon or unheard of these days. I the last time we were in on our feedback form for Salty's to increase their gluten-free offerings. Apparently, they don't care about the food allergy community. C'est la vie. I don't care to give them a third chance to get it right. I'll eat better for less at Ipanema Grill!

Salty's is set in an undeniably beautiful spot. One goes there for the views across Elliott Bay back toward downtown Seattle and in this regard is does not disappoint. It is also very conveniently located just a brief stroll from the Alki Beach water taxi terminal. Unfortunately, Salty's is riding on their location/views laurels. If you're remotely a foodie or seeking a special culinary experience you'll likely be disappointed and most certainly overcharged. Again, and I know I'm being repetitive, you're paying for the view and not the quality of what's going into, nor coming out of the kitchen. One in our party had a salad that featured tomatoes, and the tomatoes themselves were what we would describe as standard supermarket quality, to wit, flavorless and boring. For the price paid, they should have been heirloom and distinctive. Everything else was the same: fine, ok, acceptable, and not worth a special trip. But, we had good company, great views, and a nice time. Just know what you're going for.

Requested to have a particular area of the restaurant to eat since it was our first time there via reservations. 1) we were on time and they took 15 minutes to prepare a table 2) we asked for window seating in or reservations which apparently is first come first serve, but within the first 10-15 minutes of being seated 3 tables cleared, they could have at least given us an option to wait longer for the view, we already waited on them for 15 minutes for no explanation as to why our table wasn't ready 3) our food was mediocre 4) at least our server was nice and attentive to our needs 5) you definitely come for the view, if you even get a view as ours was blocked by a pillar.

I had wanted to write to you so this is great. Service was amazing your employees are top notch. \n\nFirst thing to note though and felt it wrong for a high price eatery is when serving Halibut fish chips giving two pieces to one guest and three to another is just bad form. You may know they have been weighed but I have never seen such a thing done even in lower cost places....really bad form. French fries were great. \n \nMy husband ordered the chocolate dessert with the Grand Marnier sauce it was just wonderful, great taste wonderful plating. I ordered the coffee ice cream....OMG....REALLY. It was served in a ramekin style dish with small scoops that looked liked poop.....coffee ice cream not much choice on the color. The problem was the presentation. Your establishment is very high priced so you should be able to do much better. The short bread cookie was just plain tacky and didn't go with the taste of the ice cream at all. Advice to you. Serve less ice cream (it was too much) but serve it in really cute colorful coffee cup, then put some chocolate curls on top with a little blob of whip cream and serve with a nice biscotti cookie with chocolate and almond. That would be amazing. What do ya think? Do you actually read these and make adjustments. \n\nOh, and your menu says 'wicked' coleslaw. Wicked is one word I could use but just plain awful works too. It was not sweet, salty or sour it was just nothing but mayo taste and not good mayo. We love coleslaw so it was shocking that such a great place had an item with no redeeming quality what so ever. Kentucky Fried Chicken has better coleslaw...now how sad is that.\n\nEntrance needs to be more clear when you have the Valet parking so those of us not wanting to pay (tip) money for our car to be parked can understand where to go and not need to turn around.\n\n\nThank you for the chance to share my thoughts.\nClaudia Haunreiter

If you are going to eat here, wait for a table with a view because it makes the price worth it. The lines are often long for some of the areas at the buffet so by the time you sit down, the food is cold. When they seat you, they give you a plate of doughnuts, I am not sure why since they are the worst I have ever had. Some of the food is really good and some is so so. At the pasta bar the guy put on too much garlic otherwise it would have been good.

We heard great things and read good reviews and while we may be foodies or maybe even food snobs, the food here was just flat out not worth what they think it is. You are paying for the view, so if you go understand that first and you will not be as disappointed. Stick to the seafood and DO NOT order their steaks, they clearly do not understand what a good cut of meat is or how to cook it. The manager did everything he could to make it right but even my replacement steak was more of what I would expect and roadside dinner. The others in my party got seafood dishes they described as ok but nothing special. \n\nWe had one night in town and choose this place over a couple other recommendations and were very disappointed that we did. Next time we listen to friends in the area.

I've been to Salty's quite often, but this experience was very disappointing compared to my previous times. The seafood station is the only reason I visit Salty's and bring guests, but this is the first time that I had a less than pleasant experience. The crab station was scarce, crabs weren't tasty, they seemed not as fresh as in the past, and the oysters were so so. I ordered a double vodka bloody Mary, took 3 sips and could not finish the rest since it was terrible. My mother ordered the Bellini and she didn't like it either and only drank half.\n\nWaitress wasn't as attentive as others in past. She didn't give us cocktail forks for seafood until we asked for them. My kids weren't impressed either and they're teenagers. We've come here multiple times and this was the worst experience yet, but the Manager and Chef was kind enough to reach out to get my feedback and invited me back for another try, which I hope will be a more pleasant experience.

Our server Spence, did an excellent job, The food was tasty, and Spence was very attentive regarding the menu and my friend's severe iodine allergy.\n\nSalty's would likely be a nice dining spot for able bodied individuals, with excellent hearing, that don't mind shouting over the thumping bass music of a wedding dance on the deck. However, I was dining with 5 friends, one of whom had mobility issues and was blind, and Salty's was not the place for the occasion. Just hearing other friends at the table presented a challenge, and I have excellent hearing! Even accessing the ramp for my friend's wheelchair was a challenge as it was blocked by restaurant equipment both on our arrival, and again when we were trying to leave. \n\nIt is doubtful that I would dine there again, as neither the ambiance or the menu justified the $500 I spent. We were not aware there was a brunch on Saturday when we made the reservations. It worked out fine. We were celebrating my mother-in-law's 90th birthday and she enjoyed the food. However, with her hearing issues we should have come at a different time/date. The noise level during the brunch is extremely high and was very difficult for us to have a conversation. Our previous visit for dinner and non-brunch meals has always been excellent and a great venue for food, view and conversation. I don't believe we would do the brunch again for a special occasion when we would expect to have a conversation with family and friends. That said, the buffet is probably the best we have had in Seattle; a bit pricey but the quality and variety of food makes it worth it. The noise does detract from the ambiance of the venue.

So I asked the waitress, Samantha, to confirm because out of all times I've been here that's the first I've heard of it and she let me know it was 90 mins. But then she goes right ahead talks to another coworker on the floor that I complained right when I got up to get food. On top of that, I was overcharged and the manager Lovaric tried to blame my bank and didn't really have a sincere apology. I called my bank and they let me know that it was Saltys(server, Samantha) who entered $45.00 more than my bill. The server had to put the approval amount for my bank to hold those funds. Out of all times I've been there, this was the first that I've been very disappointed. It was my sister in laws first time and I had told her so much great things about this restaurant. She left very unsatisfied with the service that we received. Other than that the food was amazing as always. After reviewing numerous menus available through Seattle Restaurant Week, our taste buds were drawn to the appetizing options provided by our local Salty's. Usually out of our typical date night price range, we determined we could enjoy the splendid view and amazing food during this special offering. We arrived and were seated in an upper section with clear views of the city skyline. Our waiter, Ryan, while admitting he was fairly new to serving 'on his own', did a great job of providing us options, attending to our needs, and responding in a timely manner throughout the meal.\n\nWe chose the Brie and the Arugula Salad for starters, both tasted great. My wife selected the Coulette Steak with mushrooms and I chose the Seafood Brochette as my entrée. Both were prepared excellently. We finished with a Buttermilk Tart and their classic White Chocolate Cake. Delicious!\n\nThe food all tasted great, the portions were fitting. Our only critic was the presentation. None of the dishes looked 'photo worthy'. The restaurant was busy, we received our food in timely fashion, and the few extra moments to make it look as appetizing as it tasted would have made the experience all the better.

It was delicious!\n\nOne curiosity of our visit - both our server and our valet mentioned this tip: Come on Saturday - it's the same food, less crowds, and costs less! Sounds like a plan!

Amazing views of Seattle and the water it was breathtaking but unfortunately that's where it stopped. The wait staff was awesome and attentive and deven even chased me down in the parking lot when I left my card- what a life saver! The food however wasn't award winning and certainly not worthy of the ridic prices. My halibut while delicious was $48 delicious it should have been the best halibut i have ever eaten at that price and I can make better at home. The coho salmon was bland and lacked any character especially for $38. I will not return for another $130 meal

Though my reservation was for a special occasion and we were wished happy anniversary on our arrival, a large party with several children was seated directly behind us approximately 15 minutes later. It was disruptive and, frankly disappointing. \n\nWe were also told to plan to stay only an hour and a half. I've never been told how long I should dine. Never. Anywhere. Ever. Certainly not in a buffet environment. Other parties that were there when we arrived were still dining when we left. \n\nOverall, my expectations were met. The food was good and the view was worth the visit. I might possibly return on my next visit to Seattle.

Views are sure to please from Salty's and the food does keep up with the views. Our waiter Alex was informed, attentive, polite, not overbearing and there when needed. Every appetizer course was perfect, followed on by the entrees and the spectacular Baked Alaska and accompanying desserts. The ambiance is comfortable and unpretentious if slightly kitschy - but wonderful with friends and out of town visitors.

Salty's is a great place to be if you can afford it. Seattlites is not about indulgence, at least not in the grandiose sense. And while Salty's provides the conjunction of the view and the food, you can find either at a much lower price elsewhere. We were there for dinner, had a whole lot of seafood + a bottle of wine, and ended up with a $400+ tab. Looking past the price, the crab and the lobster were very fresh. Service was good, but can perhaps be more attentive. The view was a fantastic summer evening in Seattle where we see the sunsetting behind us the city comes to life in its own way.

A little disappointed this time. I was really looking forward to the salmon salad. Actually the salad was drenched in dressing and there really wasn't that much lettuce! The salmon was awesome! The chowder was thick and tasty but kind of like a floury/goo. The crab cake was one big pile of mush! All of the flavors were good but it was just a little disappointing compared to the last time I was there! The staff was awesome and the view is breathtaking. So, next time I'll be sure to ask for the dressing on the side and avoid the chowder and crab cake (I can make better ones at home). $70 for lunch for two people sharing food was also steep (2 coffees, 1 crab cake, 1 salmon salad, 1 order of cauliflower).

The view from any seat in Salty's is great. The service is friendly and attentive. \n The food is predictable, which means there are no surprises( some guests will appreciate this). But for us it was SOO predicatable it was unremarkable in presentation and creativity. For the price- all entree's mid $30's (sides are extra) we would choose another venue that will offer less of a view ( still good ambiance) but quality and presentation of food will be more in line with the price. sorry- Salty's has been a Seattle institution, but it felt tired and dated.

We have been to Saltys several times over the years. It seems to us that the quality of the food has gone down a bit and the prices have gone higher. In general we do not care for their menu. Very limited selection if you don't like salmon, and don't want to pay way over price for Dungeness crab. Our risotto was very bland. The Coulotte steak was not especially flavorful, the chicken was ok. Even the chowder seemed a bit pasty and bland. Highlight was the coconut prawns and fabulous pineapple chutney. Thought it odd that before dinner drinks in the bar didn't even warrant a glass for beer. The Ceasar salad was even a bit soggy. Not trying to be overly critical, but things used to be top notch here.\nThe view, however, is always wonderful!\nWe will probably still go to the one in Redondo since we live very near. We have been to Salty's twice before for dinner and it was amazing. We were very excited to discover they had a brunch as well. The brunch didn't live up to our expectations. Most of the food was cold by the time we got back to the table, no real maple syrup (for $50/person this baffles me), coffee was cold, and every little condiment was like a treasure hunt to find in the buffet (ketchup, jam/jelly, butter, etc). I just gave up on trying to find condiments because going back for every little thing wasn't an option with 2 little kids. It was very disappointing. \n\nOn the plus side, when one of my kids threw up on himself the waiter handled it very well and did everything he could to help despite the gross situation.

Beautiful view of Sound and Seattle skyline, the restaurant was moderately busy for lunch this day. The server (Shannon, I think was her name) gave every table her very best Top-Notch Service, even bringing out a slice of birthday cake for us before our order came, reminding us the wisdom of having dessert first -- Cheers to that!!! The table was marked by two balloons, which my friend brought home to surprise her two girls -- party favors! We had a wonderful time, celebrating her half-century milestone, catching up on how Life is going in our individual slices of it, enjoying thoughtfully-prepared, really delicious food. I have been going to Salty's for years with my husband, family and friends. My husband recently had relatives in town from Hawaii and wanted to impress them by going to Salty’s brunch. We were told about the 90 minute limit when we checked in but were not given prior notice of that new change at the time of the reservation, which would have been helpful in our decision on whether to go or not. I felt that 90 minute time limit was more of a range but we quickly learned that it was not. When the 90 minutes were up, we were told by the waitress that they had another reservation waiting for 'that table'. Our guests from out of town did not know of the 90 minute limit (we felt we didn’t need to share that with them) and had gone back for another serving. It was at that time, where not one, but two people who were clearly management kept coming over to our section and looking at us. It was so obvious that they wanted us to go. It was rude and embarrassing that we then had to tell our guests that they had to hurry up as the waitress was anxious to seat her next group. I was furious. We have always gone to Salty’s brunch, not just for the food, but for the whole experience which includes taking your time and enjoying your company while you rest between different plates. My husband and I will NOT return to Salty's after this experience. The 90 minute time limit is beyond ridiculous when you are paying that much money. If they were smart, they would discontinue having a time limit. So disappointed!

Wow, what a lousy choice we made to eat here. We had a reservation, but we had to wait at least 20 minutes. We were then shown to a table near the bar that was a window table, BUT-- there was a pole and a large flower pot smack in the middle of the view. We asked for a different window table and were shown to another section that had table cloths. (Why didn't all of the dining room tables have cloths?) \nThe food was passable, but not worthy of the price. One of us had the special beet salad, which was one inch and a half square piece of beet on a pool of dressing. Hardly worthy of being called a salad. The place was noisy and chaotic, with poorly trained, young staffers more suited to working at Red Robin.\nThe icing on the cake was when the valet handed our car keys to my husband and pointed saying, 'your car's over there.'\nThis place need a serious re-boot.

This was my grandmother's favorite restaurant and we still come here for the view and sentimental value. Our meal started off poorly when it took our server 10 minutes to come ask about drinks. He did stop by to acknowledge us but didn't even give us water. I finally got up and poured us water since the station was directly across from our table. I just think that's a very basic requirement of a good restaurant: acknowledging diners and providing water while they wait. The food was fine. The couscous in my entree was clearly cold as some of it was clumped together. The desert is always excellent though!

I would have definitely recommended this place if it wasn't for the outrageous prices. The food is fine, but not worth the price. I would recommend this place for happy hour or just drinks in the lounge, because the view is truly spectacular, but skip the dinner.

We came to Salty's for my husband's birthday. I had no idea, but it was Seattle Restaurant Week do they were much busier than I expected, but still treated us quite special. There were balloons at the table when we arrived to our nice quiet corner with an amazing view. Our server was incredibly friendly and good. He had great suggestions and was very nice. We started with the calamari which was perfectly prepared and came on a plate also with really tasty little pepper slices. Yum! For dinner my husband had the Ribeye and I had the Rockfish. Both were amazing. Perfectly prepared with nice sides. The portions were quite generous. We both took about half home. After dinner they brought us BOTH cake. His had a candle. How sweet! The wine list was good. I didn't look too closely but I was surprised at the reasonable prices of wine available. We had a Merlot and it was delicious. I hadn't been to Salty's in a while but will definitely move it back to the top of my list.
