The staff was very friendly, the Pension was very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was great, fresh local products. The garden was beautiful and the surrounding nature amazing. We enjoyed a very peaceful stay.
Very-very kind owners, who were very-very friendly with the guest! I send a big thank you from this platform also. The accomodation was very quiet and a very nice place, close to my goal. The room was big and like a new, clean. The breakfast was perfect and delicious. Everything was perfect! Thank you very much! It was nice time.
Great place to stay, everything in Saxon Switzerland reachable in 20 mins by car.
A family owned place in the Saxony national park , great cafe (from Wednesday to Sunday) , one can also bring own things to grill. All main locations like Königstein fortress, Bastei, Bohemian Switzerland are within 20 km radius and there are also good public transport from Bad Schandau . The host is often very busy and may not answer your calls immediately. But he calls back always. We had some questions and they were happy to clarify. A quiet place and very scenic.
There was nothing to dislike. However there should be a couple of things to keep in mind. The place accepts only Cash. A couple of other travellers had problem as they were not aware. There are only two places , one a bowling bahn and other Hotel Berghof(serves really good food) to eat. The nearest ATM and grocery shops and restaurants are in the town of Bad Schandau. The pillows were a bit uncomfortable and breakfast was pretty basic.
This attractive converted farmhouse is ideal for a stay in this beautiful part of Germany. Although located in a rural hilltop village, there are regular bus services from almost outside the guest house into Bad Schandau. There is a beautiful walk down through fields of sunflowers into the valley, where you join a car-free road and can walk to the Lichtenhainer waterfall. Here there are a couple of restaurants and you can catch the period tram into Bad Schandau. The village itself has a nice restaurant with a terrace overlooking the valley, a lovely setting for an evening meal or drinks. Ronny, the host and owner, was extremely helpful both before and during our stay. There is a nice garden with trampoline and a paddling pool for the kids. Our son was also delighted to find a football and a small goal to practice his shots! I can't speak too highly of this stay and would love to revisit some time.
