Our room, called The Library, looked brand new. The heavy dark wood furnishings, the tile floor, the well-appointed bathroom were all impeccable. They used all the best materials. In summary: beautiful and relaxing. The only thing the hotel could improve upon is signage. The name on the building is in stylized handwriting. I was just a house away while trying to find it, and thought it was only a restaurant...which it is, on the first floor.
Comfortable room, location Wi-Fi coverage signal was quite weak, but this was not a huge problem for me.
The very best place in this catagory that we've stayed...rooms are each different and beautiful, baths large, food fabulous, really a beautiful place.... no
we arrived very late but they waited for us way after checkin time. hotel was very clean, very cute, staff extremelly friendly, breakfast superb. exceptional value for money. will go back for sure. ... i would have loved to stay longer...
Large room, comfortable bed.
If you are going to Andechs Kloster this is a very nice hotel to stay. We enjoyed it.
Lovely hotel with lovely rooms and excellent breakfast. Just what we were looking for, and walking distance to Kloster Andechs. Not their fault but our German is poor and their English was too. It felt difficult trying to communicate at times, but not a real problem.
very nice and traditional, quiet, very good breakfast, staff very kind.
We had one triple and one double room for our family of six (one child was free). The rooms were huge! The rooms were nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. Although the hotel was family-friendly, it was still very quiet and relaxing. The beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and nutritious. Although the innkeeper did not speak a lot of English, he was very friendly and helpful. Overall, out experience exceeded our expectations.
I liked the fact that it was off the tourist track..it was family run friendly. Didn't serve meals in the evening
Really nice place. Rooms were bigger than we expected - among the biggest rooms we found in Germany. Owner was very nice and helpful. She even found us a room in another town when we showed up a day early and she had no extra rooms. Excellent, huge breakfast as well.
Beautiful Bavarian house with a great restaurant. We were surprised how expensive the taxis were! We took the train from Munich (19euro) then the taxi to Der Obere was 16euro. To go to Andechs brewery and back was another 25euro r/t. Then a taxi back to the train station was 15. We should have rented a car!
The staff helpfullness, guest-friendly attitude, very clean and homey environment, attention to detail throughout the premises , the cozy and neat ambience at the restaurant, the great food, great breakfast including freshly cooked eggs and fresh croissants/ brezels , the super quiet green surroundings . None.( Parking may be a problem at busy times/periods - and wifi is not working properly throughout the premises and rooms, works just in some areas , but ok and free).
Great food frindly staff. Excellent English. Close to the must see destination of Kloster Andechs. No hot water one day but staff very apologetic and fixed straight away. Got a free beer as compensation
Very nice typical bavarian place. Hospitable and pleasant staff. Large and clean. Good bavarian dinner. A place to stay !
Not a bad place to stay, room was nice, staff and location ok. Need a gps to find in the dark
We enjoyed Garbrille's enthusiastic approach to her job as owner and operator of the Romantic VIlla. Her recommendations were spot on. Breakfast was wonderful. We had a private, separate apartment. The only flaw was that the sinks and shower where on the floor with the bedroom, but the toilet was a flight of stairs down. It was a minor inconvenience.
friendly atmosphere, very helpfull stuff,
The staffs are kind and facility is good and clean. but, They wanted payment in cash only. Because of this, I went to bank to draw money!!!!!!!!!!
Close to business location where I was working
free internet, good restaurant, excellent access to train towels , bathroom accessory
Small hotel with relatively big clean rooms and very friendly and helpfull staff (they understand English but not extremely well). The breakfast is good and contains bread, cake, cereal, some cheese and meat, jam, yoghurt, orange juice, coffee and different kinds of tea. The food for diner and lunch is also quite good and not at all expensive. There is a tram (Sbahn - S8) just behind the hotel. It takes aout 45min to the centre of Munich and 1h30 to the airport (direct line).
Very close to the S5 train. Gets you into city/tents (Oktoberfest!) within 30 minutes. Very convenient
Good location, Good Restaurant, and good service
The Hotel offers free internet access through wi-fi upon registration (with maxpost.de). Bandwith is good and wi-fi signal is strong everywhere. Rooms are big and beds are confortable. The breakfast is not particularly rich, but in line with the budget cost of the hotel. Rooms are generally clean, carpets and furnuture are a bit aged.
using the wireless connection of hotel Seehof! no internet (hotspot), in the summer this room was above the terras (very noisy)
Completely refubrished room and bathroom. Furnitures chenged to new. Clean enviroment. Good heating. Strong and fast Wi-Fi connection. Good parking and 1 min. by foot to the S-Bahn line to Munich. Homely variety breakfast, but it's ok.
Buffet breakfast was great Low rating on value for money because all hotel prices were inflated just during Oktoberfest - not just this one. Normally it may be good value
The hotel is very comfortable and the hotel staff is very friendly and helpful.
Helpful manager. This is a traditional country inn, basic but very hospitable with a restaurant famous locally for duck. Book the restaurant to avoid missing an excellent meal - it is closed on Mondays.
very good location, close to lake, good service, hotel is very clear and it isn't noisy place (in the morning wake up with bird's singing) staff doesn't speak english
A very good place to stay for a few days and in a wonderful location by the lake and near the S Bahn to Munich. Very clean and comfortable rooms and good food. Very helpful and friendly staff. Excellent Biergarten. Dining room service would have been preferable to buffet but perhaps that was temporary. If it's not, it would be good if kitchen staff were available to freshen up the dishes on offer.
reception was fluent in english, danish, german and a few others
Great room with water bed.We chose a room overlooking the lake, which was lovely.Tea,coffee, library facilities at end of corridor with free internet access. This was very useful.Very good restaurant. Check-in was very brief, with no information offered about the hotel or area.
Right on the lakeside, balcony view overlooking the lake. Within walking distance to the S-bahn into Munich.
Free internet, nice location, breakfast was included, reasonable rates, walking distance from public transport
Good location. 50 minutes by train (S-Bahn) to Munich. Nice view to Ammersee. Internet connection is not stable
Wifi free and breakfast. No credit card allowed!
Nice service, good breakfast and low price. I think there is nothing to add. Basically hotel is rather old but it doesent matter... I was satisfied, no complants.... -----------
Easy access and freedom to come and go Not a complaint really but during the quite hot weather an electric fan would have been an advantage
Large and clean rooms. Parking and WiFi with strong signal available for free. Breakfast can be improved. No credit card accepted.
Service was great! people were very accommodating and interesting had a load of fun! one thing though, and this may have been because it was opening weekend of Oktoberfest, but you had to take a cab in and out of Aling to Munich to the festival, and that was almost $80EUR a ride... just something to consider when booking... other than that I loved the hotel!
