Sées chez vous - Sées - Lobby
9.4 Excellent (239 reviews)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We were extremely pleased to meet - and be approved by - Mosquito. To be honest, the opportunity of making Mosquito's acquaintance was a big factor in us choosing this property but Roland and Jean were equally charming - enchante!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely spacious room and excellent breakfast, much of which was home made or came from the garden. First time in a bed and breakfast with our 7 month old puppy and they were very kind and patient with him.
Cons: Nothing . It is a lovely home.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely friendly and welcoming owner - could not have done any more for us during our short stay. A perfect stop over - jumping in the pool after a long day travelling and then a short stroll into the pretty town of Sees for dinner was just what we needed! The family suite was perfect- we slept well and then had a delicious breakfast - we wished we had stayed for a few days!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our host was excellent, nothing was too much trouble and the facilities were great, very interesting house. Pool, lovely garden, room was spacious and comfortable. Much of our breakfast was homemade and all was truly delicious. There are several restaurants in walking distance; we ate at the Taverne au Normandy by the Cathedral - good solid fare but definitely not fast food!
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: charming and attentive hosts. beautiful house, and so clean. breakfast was good, some surprise about the size of the croissants, but the coffee was lovely
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic breakfast, lots of choice, very fresh pastries, cakes and bread, home made compotes and jams, coffee, fruit, cereal, cheese and ham. Cooked eggs were offered but there was more than enough so we declined. The hosts were polite and helpful and the house was immaculate.
Cons: I couldn't fault a thing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Characterful and comfortable. Interesting. Very welcoming hosts and made to feel completely at home. Excellent breakfast and mostly homemade. Street parking outside the front door and a short walk to the town centre.
Cons: Nothing negative to report.
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great Hosts, lovely swimming pool and the breakfast is delicious with lots of home made produce.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautifully decorated period property, great breakfast with homemade and regional food. We had a very spacious self contained attic apartment with bathroom and separate rooms for us and 2 young children. The hosts were very warm and accommodating.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Owners very friendly and efficient. Room very comfortable and clean. Food in restaurant and for breakfast excellent.
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location in the countryside, quiet and peaceful. Restaurant was excellent. You can see that the renovations of the old building are coming along nicely and will be even more stunning when fully completed.
Cons: Nowhere to sit and enjoy a beer and a smoke under cover after it had rained.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely grounds
Cons: If we had our window open ,all we could hear was the people on the terrace.Didn't feel very private at all. Useless design of hand basin, didn't hold water!
5.8 Okay
Pros: We were somewhat disappointed with the property, although pretty from the outside. However we were surprisingly happy with the dinner in the dining room and the wine. Breakfast also was pretty good but the breakfast room itself somewhat basic.
Cons: This is a tired property in need of a good refurb - our deluxe double room was little more than basic. The property is in the countryside and not the easiest to find (would have been very difficult in the dark).
4.6 Okay
Pros: Charming from the outside!
Cons: needed updating! Very tired bathroom outlets didn't work.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Service and excellent food will return soon
5.4 Okay
Pros: Setting on approach was impressive - lovely old farmhouse behind sweeping lawn Shower in morning was hot and powerful. Quietness
Cons: No hot water in evening. Better wifi. It worked but was completely unsecured and became very slow when several users logged in. I assume that was the reason Rooms were small and basic. Apart from the setting it cost about the same as Campanile or Ibis but is not as good. French only TV, no air con. Feeling of needing a serious upgrade and revamp then would justify a higher price Dinners were either two or three courses at 22 or 28 euros, Limited menu. Food was tasty and very good but portions very small so as to make the price unreasonable so we only went once. Not paying 9 euros for a buffet breakfast, sorry.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice well priced friendly staff, easy to get to, will revisit
Cons: Nothing every thing spot on, we were a little late going down for dinner, so they weren't a table ready, while we were waiting for about five mins the manager gave us a free drink of our choice, we thought that was very kind of them.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful old building and welcoming hosts. Excellent dinner.
Cons: Obviously their are limitations to plumbing in an old building but this did not detract from a pleasant experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: We liked everything

6.3 Good
Pros: The breakfast was pretty. average, nice croissants and a pain au chocolat with yogurt. All very pleasantly served. Bed very comfortable (memory foam mattress) and a bottle of water provided! That was good
Cons: Difficult to say as I arrived late at night. It was a little basic. More like a B & B so no frills, but quite expensive at 72 Euros with breakfast.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Near motorway for stopover. Pretty town
Cons: Hotel shut until 18.00 2 rooms have shared balcony : can hear next door room peeing; not secure. Shutter broken in 1 room. Towels very worn.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice quiet location. Small room but neat, fresh, pleasant with a view of an old church. Just minutes away from shops, restaurants, cafe. With dogs: no extra charge for our two dogs. Head out of the hotel, and down the street just to the right of the old church, turn right for a nice park with stream.
Cons: I liked it.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely greeting. Clean appartment. spacious. Clean beds and rooms. Beautiful setting. Peaceful. Pet friendly in appartment.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Just a little over 2 hrs from Cherbourg and set in the middle of countryside with views across fields and surrounded by a moat, the Chateau is quirky and appeals to those who appreciate period fittings and decor. The 5 course evening meal which we had reserved in advance was creative and delicious but at 40 euros pp ,excluding wine, was the most expensive of the table d'hôte's we had experienced! However, like breakfast, homemade ingredients and local produce is used. The potager room is quaint, comfortable and very quiet. It doesn't matter that the toilet is across a corridor since the corridor is private to the room! A super last night treat on the way back to the port.
Cons: I appreciate, it's a period fixture but I do miss not having a fixture on the wall for the showerhead!
7.5 Good
Pros: Beautiful location, lovely restoration
Cons: I found the treehouse rather uncomfortable- would have preferred main house. It was picturesque but not for us - no other choice given
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was amazing!
5.0 Okay
Cons: Promised dinner then didn't provide it. Wouldn't have gone if it had not been promised.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The property is stunning, so beautiful and in such a peaceful location. The hostess was os friendly and accomodating and The local town of Sees provided all the local ammenities you could need in a picturesque location. We would definately recommend this as a friendly, homely place to stay.
Cons: The breakfast could have been more varied.
7.5 Good
Pros: The outdoor space and breakfast.
Cons: It wasn’t clear on booking page we had to pay extra for the dogs or that they didn’t serve dinner.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing house, so much character beautiful garden and very peaceful
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location is idyllic. Very peaceful and quiet. Lots of charm and elegance. Period property retaining much of its features. Only stayed one night but could spend longer . As a solo traveller suited me well. Nearby village of Ess seemed to have lots of places to eat etc
Cons: Breakfast was a little limited. Sparse continental- just bread, jam, yogurt and coffee/juice
8.8 Excellent
Pros: breakfeast was basic but good sereved in anbeatifull room the host was very nice polite an hostfull
Cons: no wifi in the room problem with kids we did no sleep in the chateau but in the building next to it lf we slept at a room in the chateau it would be perfect.
Hôtel le Dauphin - Sées - Building
8.0 Excellent (87 reviews)
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Hôtel Le Dauphin in Sees, you'll be 5 minutes by foot from Sees Cathedral. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: A real gem of old France, run (almost entirely) by a friendly middle aged couple, who couldn't have been more helpful. The accommodation was old school, but we were fine with that. The food was amazing, though again old school – 6 courses including the amuse bouches, was a challenge even for our cyclists appetites, but it was all too good to leave even a crumb. Excellent wine list too. Breakfast was equally good and equally huge, cheese and ham omelette, lots of home made jams, fresh and preserved fruits, as well as the usual bread, croissant and coffee. The location was good, opposite the old market building (now a library) and a short walk from the wonderful cathedral.
Cons: The decor and 'art' in the dining room, but that's a quibble, as it really went with the atmosphere of the place.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Nice big room.
Cons: Everything if a little tired. The room had too many chairs and no place to put our clothes. The restaurant is very expensive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was large and very clean. We eat at the hotel that evening and was excellent, one of the best meals we have had in France , we will certainly be stopping off again
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Charming small hotel in a very pretty historic town just minutes from the main north /south route. The owners are excellent hosts and , although the bedrooms are on the small side ,they are very clean & comfortable with nice touches like bath robes & slippers and fresh fruit, bottled water & snacks. The restaurant menu is superb, although a little pricey, but the quality & choice of food was very good. And the wine list - wow. We didn’t want breakfast so just had fresh coffee served with little homemade cakes and we’re offered fresh fruit for our journey. We’ll definitely put it top of our list for next time we’re in the area.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: fabulous and very generous.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing food and service made to feel welcome and owners really helpful made to feel like family travelled many place and this was one of the best will be returning again would highly recommended if you like good quality food walking and history ideal stop of for d day travel.
Cons: Nothing excellent place
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Monsieur and Madame could not have been kinder. The room was large with a huge bathroom. Nothing is exactly modern but everything one needs is there:: the hairdryer worked, there was a large fan, the lighting in the bedroom was really good, there was water to drink and an apple to eat. The bed was extremely comfortable, location very quiet, food absolutely superb. It was such an enjoyable five nights.
Cons: There was nothing one didn't like.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Characterful decor
Cons: On our arrival the owners were very unaware of our booking and even suggested the hotel was full. Eventually we were given our room key- possibly 30 mins after arrival. The hotel was very dated and not value for money. Wouldn’t recommend.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Friendly and welcoming
Cons: Very over priced food and drink
