Great Hotel - very upmarket and I got a great Rate at 0nly 60 Euros! Felt a bit out of place as I was on a motorbiking holiday - but hey dont judge a book ny its cover!!! Great location for night before Ferry Trip from Santander to UK.
I liked the castle building, the decoration and the atmosphere. I was there onky one night it's not enough time.
Location and very nice overall a good 4 star hotel !!!!! nothing !
Friendly helpful staff. The Hotel had occupancy for a family of four.
Lovely pool. Cafeteria was a good place for a drink or snack Restaurant was rather gloomy. Noisy church bells and clock on one side (we changed rooms).
breakfast buffet was fantastic
The Templo de Agua experience is a MUST - absolutely fantastic, relaxing, vivifying, calming... The spa guide was delightful and even tho' she spoke no english was able to joke with us and get us laughing. Thoroughly enjoyable pleasure. The restaurant was inundated and impossible to get a seat in so we tried the cafeteria which was more like a restaurant - so don't be put off by the name - and the food was excellent. The daytime reception staff were impersonal, surly, rude, overly bureaucratic - the worst we have ever experienced in Spain: if it had not been for the very good points to the hotel, they could have ruined the stay being the first and last impressions of an hotel. They even did not want to take payment until we threatened to depart without paying when suddenly they were able to give us attention. Additionally we were kept awake for more than an hour in the wee small hours by a leaking tap in the room above.
It was bright clean and efficient The beverage self-service at breakfast was very odd
Very good location fr traveling, Very goof hotel. As we are English we like our cup of tea, their were no facilities in the room and when we got up at 7.30 the receptionist told us we could not get a drink till the cafe opened at 8.30am.
Everything! The staff were delightful and helpful, even the ones that did not have much English. The Palacio was wondeful and furnishing wondeful.Would definately stay at the Palacio again. Spanish dining hours!!!
staff were fantastic, very friendly no
a beautiful building with surprising and effective artistic decoration inside....a pure visual delight! plenty of parking spaces outside and the bathroom and bedroom were red and dramatic, and very comfortable with all that you might need including a spare toothebrush. lovely smelling soap and shampoo. they offered 3 grades of pillow softness for your comfort. the restaurant was extremly good, delicious food, with delightful sorbet or drink or tit bit between courses. all staff were really freindly and helpful. breakfast was a feast for all tastes! the weather was cool on our arrival or I would have loved to sit by the pool in the garden, too.there was also a lovely old library with helpful books about the area. I wish we had longer there nothing I did not like!
excellent position for anyone travelling north to Santander. Lots of things to see in the village. Good for those who like walking my only two criticisms were staff could not speak English and the ordering of food and ordering of drinks etc had to be done by sign language. Lots of tv channels but not one in English even a news channel would have been better than nothing
Friendly service and very good meal both in taste and value
Location in countryside, prehistoric caves nearby, choice of eating places in small town Breakfast inadequate
Excellent for cleanliness, good location, food very good for dinner in the restaurant. Breakfast poor. No choice, you could not select what you wanted, as their was no choice. It was served from behind the bar, no cereals, no buffet style, only toast and cake available.
Good for a 1 night stop over. The rate quoted Booking.com was higher than that normally charged by the hotel. We were not aware of this until it was pointed out to us by the manager who, without being asked, reduced the price we paid to 60 euros. Full marks for honesty! The location of the hotel is right on the very busy N623 and there were lorries thundering past all day and most of the night. This could be a problem for guests with a front facing bedroom. We were fortunate enough to have a room at the rear.
peace and quiet, nothing
The breakfast was a disappointment after such an excellent meal the night before - it consisted of film wrapped cakes with a piece of toast and tea or coffee. An English explanation of the 3 breakfast choices would have been helpful - we had the 4euro choice.
Perfectly placed for easy access to Santander and Ferry Port. Quiet, relaxing and in a beautiful area.
It's well placed in the zone, panoramics views There aren't lift
It is informal with a friendly atmosphere
