I love this boutique hotel. Location is so peaceful & beautiful view of the wine country. The restaurant is magnificent . Fantastic breakfast & Great dinner. Fantastic wine list. It's only 5 minutes away from the town of Epernay . I truly can't wait to come back & stay @ this lovely boutique hotel. I like everything .
Simple hotel in superb location for Champagne tasting
Good food, clean room, comfortable beds and very pleasant staff. No
It makes a nice change to be greated in such a friendly manner.
Hotel manager was very helpful and freindly, he spoke good english. The food was very good and lots of it Its location in the commercial centre was a bit of a first sight dissapointment
The staff were friendly and helpful and that added to the quiete position and pleasant room. The restaurant was not open and this meant a walk to the Campanile where the service was very slow and the prices were a little high.Theapproach is a little scruffy.
Space of the bedroom, location of the hotel and quality of the breakfast. Bathroom in poor condition.
The attitude of the booking in man named Julian was superb, his weloming attitude second to non, a real credit to the organisation and we enjoyed our stay The toilet bowl in our room no 215 was badly discolered in the bottom and never lesseened with any flushes, which really spoilt the overall good impression
The bed was comfortable.
Convenience to motorway. Friendly attitude of staff Did not realise that it did not have a restaurant. There were some really near but information in the hotel about local options would have been useful.
The hotel was very clean and in a good condition. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast food was all fresh and was plentiful A minor point, but there's no hotel Bar or Restaurant (although you can use those facilities at other hotels close by).
Good clean basic accomodation, handy for the motorway, easyu to find No tea or coffee in room
Very convenient for travelling. Surprisingly quiet
Easy to find and although it didn't have a restaurant, we had an excellent meal at the Hotel Ibis which was only a 2 minute walk away.
Very convenient for one nigt saty between Calais and Germany. Twin room at back of hotel was very noisy. Had requested 2 quiet rooms together and they were not. The gate to the secure parking was open at 3.30 a.m.
Very helpful staff, spoke good english.Excellent breakfast selection.spacious parking.easy to find. Will use again.
the rooms are getting to be in need of refurbishing
Comfort of room, parking, free minibar and a varied choice at breakfast. Restaurant closed for renovations, sinage very difficult to read at night. No bath mat.
It was clean and conveniently situated. The staff were not helpful.
Very friendly staff, We had to leve very early, so no breakfast facilities yet, therefore the staff gave us sandwiches and coffee in the evening before. Thanks for that.
Old dirty rooms! Too noisy Douche was not working well, wc had to be repaired
Effecient, friendly staff. Basic, clean and comfortable hotel. Ideal location for stop over in Reims
Clean, modern & well maintained hotel. Free Wi-Fi connectivity was a pleasant surprise! None.
The shower in one of the rooms was defect.
The fact we survived! We arrived at 4.30pm and the the family room was still not cleaned, we waiting for half an hour to move into the family room which was up the steepest stairs in France. The wifi did not work in this hotel, and the water in the room took an hour to warm up to get a wash. The hotel sits on a construction round-about and has the apperiance of a brothel. There is no parking close to the hotel so you can carry your bags over a dual- carriage way to move in. Nothing like the website shows! Do not stay at this hotel. booking.com needs to remove this from their website!!
Friendly staff, nice room and big breakfast
Hotel is clean and cosy. The staff is friendly. I did not like that at the breakfast the juice was served by the staff (not from the vessel), so I had to ask for it each time (I usually drink more juice at the breakfast). The ac was not efficiently heating the room. I had to set the higher temperature (24-26 c) in order to get enough warm. Not all staff could understand English.
the staff. helpful and knowledgable it seemed tired and in a gritty, industrial-type area which didn't seem to fit its description.
central location no parking
comfortable double bed and pillows;warm please check bed springs in single beds- less than comfortable
Very quiet room. Good temperature. Clean and Comfortable Beds.Good bar and lounge room.
Well located with access to free wi-fi. Even thoug we stayed only 1 night we were able to use our room right up to the time of are train booking which was in the early afternoon
Pleasant helpful staff I found the shower a bit difficult to control
Small but perfectly formed! Clean, great location and very good service. Would stay again.
Very friendly staff, good breakfast, convenient stop over. Pretty small rooms, quite a walk from the centre of Reims
Very nice small hotel with excellent location to city centre. Helpful & smily staff.
modern hotel and nice heater the package is bundled with breakfast. it's not for travelers like me who leave the hotel at 5am in the morning
Bright cheerful & very clean room/ modern clean bathroom situated in a quiet side street.
The staff were extreemly helpful, excellent breakfast
Hotel location was excellent for visiting Reims, with plenty of restaurants in close vicinity Room was poorly furnished, very small, very hot, very uncomfortable. The shower/toilet were the size of a cupboard. Stairs were steep (no lift) and poorly lit at night. Breakfast would not suit anybody with an appetite! Parking was secure, but several minutes walk from the hotel.
the employees were very friendly. the rooms were very nice for a city hotel.
Dislike: 1) there is no lift, but ok - you are warned in advance. But the staircase is very steep and stairs are very narrow (about 10 cm wide) - so lifting my heavy suitcase onto the second floor after rolling it along digged streets around Reims train station (seems there was a sudden announcement that there was a treasure buried somewhere nearby) and afterwards along a block road almost without a sidewalk was a real nightmare; 2) my card was charged (not preauthorized without me knowing it) - the owner told it to me when I wanted to pay in the morning 2) in my very small room there was no real door between the room and absurdly small bathroom - only a wooden vent with wooden bars inserted in it at an angle - so vapour from the shower and smell in the room from the toilet. And there is an announcement in the bathroom asking not to use water flush in the toilet during the night! 3) very serious: when I asked to use their luggage room next morning, I was told that the hotel is closed on sunday, so it was impossible! The owner said it was advertized at booking.com (false). But she found a solution - I had to go to their garage (5 minutes walk), open a big garage door, leave a luggage, close the door, in the evening to do the same thing, then return to the hotel and leave a key in th post
Hotel receptionist recommended a local restaurant which was superb and at which we were given a free glass of champagne. Hotel staff were very friendly.
Good staff & breakfast Rooms were tatty and generally run down. Not 3*
la receptioniste etait tres agreable! She was so kind and friendly and good service. The room was so durty!!!! there were a lots of tache on the carpet and i have a allagy of house dust, so my symptom had got worth in the room! and there wasn't refrige in the room ! this hotel in the region champagne, so it's big problem there isn't refuge in the hotel room??
easy to find, clean rooms and a big bed very nice staff all the ones we encountered spoke very good english the rooms had a very dated look and needed modernising. we also had a non smoking room yet it smelt of stale smoke. restaurant menu was not translated into english and very expensive. we went to mcdonalds.
clean, modern hotel. The place was busy but very well organised and dealt with us very efficiently and with good humour. English speaking reception.
The size of the room and the bathroom
The hotel location was ideal for venturing into Reims for Champagne tasting with many pommeries close by (5 minutes in a car). The pool was small but that was fine as there were only a few people using it. Room and bed were comfortable, good value for money.
Good location for a stop over Slightly pretentious - serving caviar on the room service menu. Expensive breakfast. Room very basic, but clean. Double bed was two put you up beds pushed together.
the stay was too short to comment prefer to have tea & coffee making in the bedroom
Very helpful staff Bar prices!!
great staff and a comfrtable stay - that's precisely what we wanted breakfast was ridiculously overpriced and the bar was also too expensive. Had it been more reasonable i'm sure more people would be encouraged to use it.
Location to nearby Parc d'Exposition Noisy people coming late and waking me up. I also found breakfast overprized
Staff very welcoming and helpful. We just needed an overnight stop and were very tired after 7 hours driving so were pleased to have a comfortable room to stay in. Bathroom far too small! There were 3 of us booked in (adult and 2 children) but only 2 towels were provided
Proximity to Exhibition centre was good. Breakfast choice was good Room smelt smoky. Bathroom too small
Location was excellent for break in journey on main route south through France.Good value for money. Bathroom a little cramped but sufficient for overnight stay
As we only used this hotel for a one night stop-over,on our jounery to Germany, and on our return journey. It was fine. The sink was a bit small and had no plug.
TV was ok. And the breakfast definitely for sleeping only. The driving instructions on booking.com were really lousy. Remember to google your way here or get a gprs
cheap rooms too small and hot
The hotel could have been a bit cleaner.
Good powerful showers, comfotable beds
None No plug in basin, Head came off Cold tap in basin, En suite door faulty, unable to open window fully, need I go on?
Excellent stop over choice in the centre of town with secure parking. Warm welcome, comfortable and well equipped room. Outstanding meal in the one star restaurant ( the adjacent bistro also looked like a great choice)
Very friendly staff on the front desk. We were upgraded to a superior room secure parking was directly behind the hotel and included in the room rate Breakfast was not included and cost 16 euros pp which I find expensive. I expect breakfast to be included as it was on our previous nights stay in an excellent Italian hotel. The restaurant was also expensive the menu overly fussy. We chose to eat out and found excellent restaurants very nearby. The hotel restaurant didn't appear to be well patronised
Excellent staff, service and facilities. The buffet breakfast was a real highlight of our stay! We would definately stay there again.
Very big and luxury rooms and very friendly staff.
Helpful staff, excellent location. I enjoyed my stay
poor directions, not easy to find! could see hotel, could'nt get to it!! took us an hour,
Warm, comfortable and a good price for an en-suite room. The room smelt a little of cigarette smoke.
Pleasant reception staff. Credit card machine not working. Toilet not working. Bed broken. Shower head fell off. Hotel in dire need of refurb.
Breakfast V poor bedrooms curtains torn and in shreds letting light in. Morning receptionist not very helpful. Room smelt of smoke ++ and because of this bad experience we have cancelled 2 nights for the end of the month at the Chilly Mazarin but were unable to obtain a refund which is unsatisfactory because of the given notice. At least the Reims Stars would have refunded fully up to and including the day of arrival.
The dogs. We arrived for breakfast between 8 and 8.30am to find they had run out of fruit cocktail and yoghurt. The only cereal choice was cornflakes, which I hate so I was left with a croissant and bread. Not impressed- how did it attain 2*?!By 9.30am there was virtually nothing left. Also the pillows supplied were like sleeping on pancakes, TV had no remote control+1 bedside light was only 1 that worked.
Staff were helpful and friendly Couldn't find the remote control for the TV. No Wifi Internet.
Cheap, purely utilitarian for 6 hours sleep en route from London to Alps, no charm at all but clean, roadside, in the middle of a commercial zone, out of town. Location not obvious to find
good design too small
The person in charge of everything was charming and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and the cafeteria and bar were open in the evening. The location, in the midst of historic Reims, is perfect for sight-seeing or those with a serious interest in medieval monuments. My room was quiet and looked onto a garden. wi fi is free.
normal for 2star, good personal, good breakfast. small noise from street
Owners/staff were friendly and helpful. Not bad value for money if you just want a basic no frills hotel. Lack of storage space, poor bed, noisy plumbing, small toilet cubicle (with a rickety concertina door) which was located too close to the bed. There was no plug in the wash basin, though staff did quickly remedy this.
The woman at the reception desk was very helpful about places to visit and restaurants.
simple, but good breakfast - rooms clean and simple. Very good for a short stay.
Cheap and near cathedral
It was fine for an overnight stay or perhaps a weekend but no longer. The location was good as it was close to the motorway and close to places to eat like McDonalds. The room was clean and of quite a high standard. It was handy having a little restaurant on site that we used for breakfast which was quite good value. The room did not have a waste paper basket which was a bit inconvenient. Also there was a slight smell of urine eminating from the bathroom which lingered during our stay.
The hotel was easy to find, reasonably priced and had a restaurant and bar on site where we could meet up with friends. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. The beds were comfortable and clean. After spending considerable time on the telephone 3 weeks before our stay ensuring that all names and room types were correct for the overnight stop, it was disappointing to find that this information had not been relayed to the hotel reception correctly. However, the receptionist was very helpful and the matter was resolved successfully.
Flying beetles in the room during the night, this was a problem, as we believe they were attracted by the outdoor lights and the closeness of the vegetation outside the window, even the nets did not keep them out. Not a welcoming check in. Poor selection of regional food on the buffet choice in the evening expecially as we had stayed in the Campanile Nord on the way down, which hed been great.
Very friendly staff. Clean rooms, everything worked well. Quiet and easy access to et on and off the freeway.
able to park outside room. easy to find from map from website quality of food and decor of restaurant area. We had in fact originally planned to bring our dog, useful to have a room which directly led into the garden area. In the end we did not do so, but would certainly have had plenty of room and facilities if we had done so.
Accessible;reasonably priced;restaurant attached; kettle, tea, coffee etc. a good shower Nothing of any consequence
Reception arrngements were good. Rooms were OK and restaurant had good ambiaince and reasonable prices
It is an xcellent hotel for an overnight stop enroute to the south of France, but I would not hesitate to use it for longer stays. The hotel provides all the basics you need. Bong situated in the Champagne region, the Champagne in it's restaurant is reasonably priced too (Taittinger). House red is fine also. Staff xcept receptionist doesn't speak much Ebglish but are very helpful anyway.
Although the building is a little dated, the rooms have been redecorated and are very nice. There is plenty of room (we had a travel cot). The bathrooms are a good size, with baths. There is also air conditioning which was a blessing. The restaurant was decent and the lounge area was nice to sit in. This hotel was good value for money - slightly better than the Tip Top Hotel which we have also stayed in. Some people might not like the motel nature of the room doors opening straight out, but there is an inner door so the rooms still felt safe and private.
It was clean comfortable, adequately spacious with all the basic facilities and quiet.
Exactly what I wanted after a long drive from Liverpool. No
The room facilities were above expectation for a city centre hotel booked at short notice and at such a reasonable price.
Good use of space in the rooms which included many facilities such as tea/coffee making, fridge, microwave and hairdryer. Breakfast was lovely with a varied and unusual range of foods and dishes. Staff were extremely helpful (in guiding us by phone to the hotel as half of Reims seems to be cut off due to ongoing works on the tram and also in finding and returning to us a little travel radio we forgot when we left). Also very conveniently located near the town centre.
Limited but free parking next door. Public paid parking near if in house parking is full. Clean 'modern minimalist' rooms with dividing curtain for 3/4th bed. None that we noticed
The hotel is very new, well designed, clean and tidy. The situation is a little way outside the town thus requiring somewhat of a trek through much building and construction work (tramway!), and the use of a subway into the railway station, for access to the town. We got used to it after a couple of days but it could be a considerable handicap to some. Excellent, safe car parking. No restaurant or catering other than the "designer" breakfast arrangement which did not suit us, and was, we thought, very much over priced for the content.
Very comfortable room Staff mislead us over the cost of the car park next to the hotel
the quality of the beds was excellent. I have a bad back and woke up everymorning without a problem. the hotel was clean, modern and only 5 min from the main drag. the temperature in the room couldn't be regulated properly. opening the windows on the street side is was not really an option. The breakfast was wierd. the bread was good, but the toppings were 'interesting'....
The suite was marvelous, very comfortable and the staff very helpful. The location was a little out of the way.
Well-appointed rooms & very clean; comfortable bed with enough pillows! Great shower facility. Cleverly thought out reception area, minimum of staff but all very helpful. Excellent breakfast, had fun choosing variety of good options. Also watched film - great idea to have these available for free viewing. Paper cups in room to make tea or coffee. No ordinary milk, just one cap of heavy/creamy milk offered was not enough, even for one cup.
Excellent facilities, friendly staff, large room sizes, well located.
Very nice rooms and food was very good Long walk from reception
We were very pleased with the hotel. The evening meal had a greater choice than our previous visit. The breakfast had a wide choice including a hot buffet. The room was very large and clean. An ideal location being within a minute of junction 22 Autoroute.
Friendliness of staff, quality of food and wine, large grassy area at the back for us to exercise our 2 dogs.
Stop over on drive down to Italy. Close to the motorway but well designed with pool and dining area at the back which was very peaceful and surprizingly good
Very family friendly - double sofa bed in addition to the main bed, welcome toy for the kids, free buffet breakfast for kids, and a child friendly restaurant next door. Not enough dustbins in the room and bathrooms!
We have stayed at this hotel in the past and have found it to be perfect for us as a family. We intend to visit again next year. None
Location and facilities were both very good. Room was as promised, and staff were very friendly. Nothing at all.
Very friendly and efficient staff. Great service
Efficiency of staff
The rooms are reasonably comfy and the hotel has its own bar, restaurant and swimming pool, plus a nice lawn area that you can sit out on. It has no lift, and only a handful of rooms that are accessible without using the stairs, so it's not ideal for those with pushchairs or wheelchairs. The bar and the restaurant are pricey.
modern, spacious room
The welcome was excellent. The Proprietor did everything she could to accommodate us and provide us with all the info and comfort we required. Rather a long way from the centre on first visit. Easy to find after that.
The service and staff attitude-the room and facilities A kettle would be good to make tea
Great value for money. We used it as an overnight stop travelling up from the south and it is fairly easy access from the motorway. The buffet breakfast is very good. The room was good especially the shower room and the kettle in the room was very welcome. It's a pity they don't have a restaurant as it was a very wet night and we had to drive into Chalon but we knew this, and did plan to walk, if it hadn't been for the weather.
The owners were very helpful and kind, and with a sense of humour. There was internet in the rooms. there was all the information needed to visit the area, so we did not need to go to a tourist office. It was a pity there was no bar, or at least a possibility to buy something to eat in the evening, even though it was just a snack. Nevertheless, they tried to remedy that by putting coffee and tea facilities in the rooms. So that was very nice.
Lovely welcome with lots of advice about where to eat and how to work the excellent shower! We could buy a bottle of wine... much appreciated. Excellent breakfast - huge variety of food including a brilliant egg boiling machine.
Friendly staff exc room/bathroom
Efficient, clean room, nice breakfast room, evcellent information about the city and its restaurants a bit difficult to find in the dark ...
Friendly helpful staff who spoke good english nothing
The innkeepers were incredibily friendly, helpful and proffesional. Clean to the extreme. Like a Dominican nun. Breakfast was the best. They thought of every detail when preparing the menu and presentation. The inkeepers take pride in their property and take innkeeping to a higher level. I travel extensivley and take delight and admiration when I come upon proffesionals who embrase their trade.... could not find one because it does not exist
Room was very clean, decor was fresh looking, Room was very quiet. Staff spoke English.
Within walking distance of town centre Breakfast was not up to much for the price
easy to find
We liked the large family room, the fact it was clean, lots of pillows, use of the swimming pool and private parking available. The owners were friendly and welcoming and cared about our stay. As a result of the building of the tram in Reims, there are many road blocks and it was hard to get about by car and to get to the hotel. It would have been useful to be given advance warning.
Good value and very helpfull staff The 15 minute walk to the city centre is through a rough looking area but that is not the fault of the hotel. Take a taxI?
This was a lovely hotel very clean, nice room, lovely swimming pool unable to use being there for only one night. Good stopping over place. The staff were lovely, good breakfast plenty of choice and free car parking. Would like to return for a longer stay.
Had trouble tracking anyone down at reception to get access codes for internet (even though it was advertised as having free WIFI) and once I did I couldn't get access (Windows 7?)
Clean bright dining room Unstaffed reception
Convenient for walking into Reims. Parking was well organised, if a bit cramped in the garage. Room was very cramped. Staff were not very helpful or friendly. Split site means that the hotel lacks atmosphere.
Comfortable bed, quiet location. Breakfast room too cramped and breakfast a little expensive.
Very pleasant staff. Two minutes from the Cathedral, very central location
Very friendly staff, hotel is convienently located extremely small room on first night, many smaller defects in room (things like lightbulps did not work)
The bed was comfortable. A basic but comfortable room spoilt by the fact that some of the contents needed attention. I understand that the Hotel has been refurbished but the carpet had large black stains on it and the shelf in the shower room, along with the table in the bedroom, needed a good coat of paint.
The hotel is very cosy, little but tidy and pretty. It is in a very nice position in the centre of the city with a very close parking. The couple that runs the hotel is very very kind and welcoming. I had my big german shepherd with me but we had no problems, we could stay in a very nice room together and no one complained of us. The breakfast was good, in a nice little restaurant room. I only spent one night whilst travelling by car from the uk to Italy and I had a lovely time. I would have spent there another night on my way back if there was a room available, but it was full on my return date. Overall, it was great.
Location - the hotel hosts - breakfast Somewhat outdatesd and wornout - in desperate need of renovation
Old but the coolest place ever!
Friendly staff, good breakfast, We were on the 4th floor, no lifts and 80 stairs. Wardrobe had no doors, small space and bathroom was very small. Heating was not very efficient, my wife found the room cold. Room was described as "superior double"
Very good location, you can see cathedral over the window. Noise of the street in the morning, smell in the room was not so good due to chemicals used for cleaning.
One of the two double beds was comfy The other bed was sunk in and loud
Great location to see the Cathedrale, convenient parking garage right behind the hotel. The best thing about this hotel may be it's convenient location to a small restaurant right down the street, Le Colibri, that we happened upon by chance. This was one of the best meals we had in France. Great service, fantastic food, nice atmosphere. No elevator, so be prepared to carry your luggage up a narrow circular staircase, so pack light.
Family run hotel - nice and cosy Hotel was quite far from the train station, appreciate if the hotel website can provide a useful map to indicate direction to the hotel
Please write at least 15 words There was no parking at the hotel and the staff were not able to direct us to suitable parking. There was no lock on the bathroom door. I had to hold the shower head in my hand to use it.
The room was clean, well-decorated and though simple, had all I required. The breakfast was very pleasant. The hotel is close to the centre of town and very easily accesible from the motorway. It does not have parking so you have to use parking meters
The price is fair for what you get. The location is very close to the center. No elevator, a lot of stairs to do, not for disabled persons. The sheets were not perfectly clean.
Clean, good bed. Curtains aren't thick enough to block streetlights.
