It was not too large(and therefore impersonal) so 'small & friendly'. Also an easy stroll into the city centre and I also enjoyed the rural walks from the hotel in the opposite direction. The breakfast was excellent value. We stayed 4 nights and would have liked a little more wardrobe space as we were attending a wedding. A set of drawers for shirts, socks and underwear instead of shelves would be better. Only one towel per person is inadequate and shampoo was not provided.
This is the poorest hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was dirty the whole hotel is in very poor condition and despite complaining no one offered to make any reduction in our bill I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.
The location was very good since it was near the highway. Made it convenient to drive to other destinations.
Easy access, big parking lot, friendly staff, swimming pool (small but in good condition), restaurant and breakfast ample opening hours (7-10 am/pm). Restaurant prices high in comparison with room prices, poor breakfast, noisy air conditioning in room, small bathroom without hair dryer.
A very fresh hotel; rooms were of the standard we would expect and breakfast was excellent, and at dinner it was well represented and extremely high degree of food presentation and cooking with excellent humour from good staff. Nothing to dislike
Convenient location and very good restaurant facilities
Very conveniently located close to the off-ramp of the Autoroute, nice hotel with parking spaces right in front of the rooms (Motel-style), good breakfast, good restaurant
Staff were excellent, polite, informative, interested.
Good location, clean, comfortable, silently, friendly staff. Free private parking just in front our room. Near the city turistic attractions: Chateauneuf-du-Pape and Avignon. Nothing.
Conveneient, friendly staff and excellent town.
The evening meal was simple but very good and fair price.Rooms very clean. in quiet area as requested. Rooms rather old and tired and very small. A/c did not work on warm night. ( Clearly unservicable for some time). B and b was expensive for quality of hotel.
It was easy to find off the motorway. The Staff were very friendly, and the rooms were updated, and clean. Good Blow Dryer too! Only that I don't think the Aircon was working in our room.
The hotel is very unique as the chateaux is a real gem. They gave us a very nice room with a view. The gourmet dinner and the wine were excellent for the price the hotel charged. The good breakfest was included in the rate, which became unusal in france now. The driveway to the chteaux was closed, but they helped us with the parking of the car. The heating system in the room did not work well and it was cold.
Wonderful location in middle of Cotes du Rhones wine region. Beautiful, comfortable rooms in a building full of history. Price of breakfast.
This ia a beautiful Chateau , and i would recommened it highly . Agnes and Anna at reception made us feel most welcome .The room we had was wonderful with 4 poster bed , it was extreemly clean and well equipped. The restaurant was good but quite expensive so we could not eat in every night. We stayed for 8 nights but maybe if we go again 3/4 nights would be better. the swimming pool was cold but it was end September.
Exelent romantic Chateau/hotel for relax and confort and enjoy. Staff is giving real good service. Nothing
beautiful building and village/ setting. great food
The room, service, and food were fantastic!
The authenticity of this Chateau was excellent. Enjoyed our tour by the reception staff. Very tranquil setting. Restaurant prices are very high.
The staff were superb! The Chateau is luxurious and perfect for treating yourself for a night away. Be sure to have dinner, Food and service were both A+
The extra cost for evening dinner offered in the dining room was beautifully prepared and served - staff very efficient and polite. The advice from the reception staff upon departure was invaluable - enabling us to see much within the local area, also courteous and helpful. One of our main reasons for booking the hotel was the swimming pool - however when we asked about it we were told that it was not in use due to the recent weather - however when we venured in the grounds of the chateau - it appeared by the negleted state of the area and masonry that the pool had not been in use for some considerable amount of time.
The restaurant was excellent. The view overlooking the valley was beautiful. The sitting room/bar are had a lovely ambience. Checking was difficult as the receptionist did not speak English but we managed OK.
Beautiful old Chalet. Great experience and recommend it if you want something unique and beautiful. Nice people that own it as well. Needs wifi.
Except for the distraction of the flapping door to the kitchen, the food was excellent. Other than that this no longer is a three star hotel Upon entering the lobby we were greeted by three aging and smelly dogs whose favourite sleeping place was the lobby. One of said dogs regularly patrolled the dining room looking for handouts. The carpet in our room was alive with (fortunately) non-biting bugs.
We loved the Chateau martinet - the staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was lovely and we dined each morning on their lovely terasse. Good size pool too. Our room was right next to a busy road, so it was a bit noisy.
It was an traditional hotel with very nice people.a good place to stay. not far from orange en avignon little bit a poor breakfast whithout meat.
A lovely family run hotel in beautiful setting. Good food and spacious room. The owners reduced my room rate when they realised I was travelling alone Very close to main road. You had to cross the road to get to my room and pool was poorly maintained.
None i the staff spoke fluent English
Absolutely superb hotel staff....could not be more accommodating or pleasant. The location is quite central in Provence, the chateau setting enchanting, the suite we stayed in and the restaurant were beautiful and excellent. One should be forewarned that the room suites are NOT in the main building but across a busy road and that some are up three flights of stairs.
The rooms were nice and confortable, and the dining room was beautiful. It has a restaurant with good menues. The room smelt because of the humidity.
Full of character and we chose a menu with different wine for each course which was lovely.
I got food poisoning from their dinner. Ironically the dinner was delicious
Extremaly kind and friendly staff!!, Gorgeous location,
A delightful place to stay in the Rhone wine region. Wonderful evening meal. Confusing to find the hotel as it was behind the restaurant
The appearance and hotel part of the property had quite a good aspect and the restaurant was reasonable in quality and cost. The Manager was firendly and pleasant. however the rooms out the back had a peculiar and strong smell, perhaps anti cigarette spray and the room was very small, the bathroom even worse and layout terrible. The rooms were very noisy being on the edge of a busy road so was not a good choice for a 4 night stay
really good food and very friendly service n/a
Pleasant proprietress. Attractive rooms. Elegant restaurant which we couldn't sample as it was the obligatory day off on the Wednesday. The availability of lounge area with mini-bar and the pool, neither of which we had time to use, unfortunately. Early-morning traffic noise if you prefer an open bedroom balcony-door to the air-conditioning.
Excellent meals were served in a beautiful dining room. Both the proprietor and waitress did an excellent job. There was a good choice of local wines.
The Auberge proprietress was a charming lady who spoke excellent English. She gave us advice about a planned visit to Orange and also advised on inital routing at departure. We had dinner on the terrace of the Auberge looked after by an attentive staff and enjoyed an excellent meal at a reasonable price. The bedrooms were air con which was particularly helpful on arrival, hot and flustered. It is hardly a bad point but there was a side gate out of the property which would have given access to a pavemented area into the village. It was only opened to allow staff into the site. It may have been locke for safety/security reasons but we did not like the idea of walking down the road after dinner toward the village which we would like to have done
The owners were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a cottage and felt very private. The restaurant is quite good. The location is great for exploring a good deal of Provence - Vaison La Romaine, Cote de Rhone, Avignon, etc. Also, private, safe parking. Not at all. Would highly recommend to friends and family.
friendlyness of personnel, english spoken , very nice dinner, very nice contact with the owner. Hotel is easy to find with all the signs pointing the direction
Made to feel very welcome, room small but Air Conditioning excellent as the day was very hot. Restaurant excellent, small outside terrace surrounded by shady trees.
Fabulous dinner in the hotel restaurant Lugging bags up two flights of stairs
Neat and clean budget hotel, friendly staff, fantastic restaurant!!!! Great location in the centre of town, however not much to do in the area, only wineries. Was a bit noisy at night due to the restaurant downstairs.
Excellect hotel to stay and explore the surrounding countryside
Cuisine was of high standard, Room was excellent and Staff were very understanding when my wife was unwell
good. The breakfust can be better.
The staff was great! Very helpful especially about accommodating our late arrival and parking. Very friendly night and morning staff! statue at the front greeting guests
Very pleasant atmosphere. Staff helpful and kind. Relaxed and comfortable stay.
Very good location, "near to everything". Fine breakfast.
Great Location, Very good service Small room, shower and plumbing very old!
The position to tourist attractions was good.Good eating for night meals around hotel. The market outside the door on a Thursday was a bonus
very helpful and informative staff; charming setting shower fixed on wall at 5ft.6ins high; I am 6ft.2ins..
The staff was very good, they took the time to tell us whatever we wanted to know. The room was very comfortable and quiet. The parking on the street was very easy and the access to the highway was very good. Excellent location. The bathroom was ok but the shower stall was small and the door didn't work well. The free WIFI was a problem for the three days that we were there but the owner tried to rectify the problem without success but he tried hard.He was having an expert in the day we left.
friendly service, once you found the hotel pleasant, central location, clean rooms
The hotel was very comfortable, well decorated and furnished. Although the buffet breakfast was generous and varied, some fresh fruit would be welcome. They need to ensure that the taxi firms they contact on behalf of guests are reliable.
Well laid out, up-to-date rooms, helpful staff, friendly environment, good parking available near by, good pricing, clean.
very clean hotel with helpful staff a little too far away from city centre to walk
Well equipped room, very comfortable bed, magnifying mirror in bathroom, extremely freindly/helpful staff, tasty good value meals in bistro.
Air conditioning was vital as very hot. Pleasant welcome on arrival. Very small room for 4 people. No tea or coffee making facilities. The shower was broken and there were holes in the sheets and towels. The hotel is situated on a busy road. There was a lot of noise from banging doors which started quite early on the Sunday morning. Breakfast was charged at an increased rate to the one advertised on booking.com and there was a severe language barrier so breakfast was very modest as you had to ask for what you wanted. Our french was not good enough to understand the lady host.
A very kind and welcoming hostess who also spoke english. A traditional hotel decorated with originial paintings by the hotel family. The hotel is in the centre of town in a quiet area with a restaurant opposite and more restaurants and shops just round the corner. It was lovely to dine outside especially in the evening after taking the bus and seeing the nearby villages and towns such as Avignon, Vaison la Romaine and Segurez just 3euros by bus. The hotel is across from the Roman Theatre and there is a walk near there up to the lovely park where you have a view that will take your breath away. The hotel is comfortable and very clean with room service and clean towels every day.We intended staying two nights and stayed six and hope to return We loved this hotel but if you have difficulty climbing stairs it is best to mention this as there is not a lift. On the other hand the stairs are good for keeping fit. We are a retired couple, on the top floor, and the stairs did not bother us.
The staff was excellent helping with tourist info especially. The breakfast is substantial. The room was huge and the beds very comfortable and we could hear no noise from the inside corridor. Location is the best - very central and near the main metro.
Perfect position, pleasant staff who gave a warm and friendly welcome Our forst room was very small; but when we upgraded the new room was adequate. The carpets are dirty.
Cheap No Air-con, dirty room. Spooky paintings on the wall, cannot sleep well at all. Check out the next morning to change hotel, 1st thing in the morning. Dark reception area after office hours, my room do not have wc attached because it is a single bed...dark looby area to wc. That place cannot even be a hotel, motel.. but it is a very very old residental house. no way I am going to book or stay there even it is free, no way!
Central, room good, exceptional staff.
friendly hepful staff hygene
Spoke some English, friendly. Small room
nice rooms, comfy beds nice staff very friendly and helpful nice breakfest and also it is very well situated for getting around the town
The location is fantasic (right next to the theatre). The owner is charming and sweet and the sheets were new & clean The building is rather old and needs some serious remodelling. The single room bathroom is outside of the room and the shower is in the middle of the room...
The roof leaked into my suitcase during a rainstorm
A beautiful old home, beautifully green and very warm staff. No lift but not much trouble at all. Very idyllic location and setting. Treat for the eyes
Very friendly staff. Accomodating and helpfull. Hotel closes its gate (parking yard) and doors (3 locks + alarm) at night, which makes it hard when you arrive or leave afer 23h or before 8h. Even getting to your car in the courtyard between those hours is difficult as the front door is locked and you have to call (phone) to get the doors opened.
Pastoral setting, friendly staff, could speak english. unique. No
Good ambience, quiet, well run establishment with character and charm. Good value and good food. Highly recommended. Bathroom is small and un-ventilated, but is entirely adequate and satisfactory.
Good restaurant, private parking No lift, no refrigerator, in the room, too noisy, parking place is too small, the bed is too short.
We only stayed at this hotel for one night but we were very pleased with our stay. It was very hot and and the airconditioner in our room was great. This is a charming small hotel that is very comfortable. We had dinner here and the meal was fantastic. The parking area is a little tight but it seemed to work well and it is locked at night for security.
Very quaint and charming. A highlight of our trip. Owner-managed and operated. Lovely breakfast in courtyard. Secure parking. Great location next to Roman theater. Hotel check-in closes at 8pm, but if you call to say you will be arriving late, proprietor will make arrangements to accommodate your needs.
The staff was very attentive and pleasant. They take great pains to make everything just so. They put on a simple but perfect breakfast and they are always there to help out in any way. Old plumbing but that's not uncommon in charming old hotels in Europe.
The hotel is old but has a certain charm and its excellent location makes it ideal for seeing the sites in Orange.
Good location walking distance to center of Orange and near the Theatre Antique. This is an old three storey property with winding stairs.
nice car park carpet could be replaced. very unimanigative breakfast in fact quite lousy
Very friendly reception. Charming small hotel.
Great hotel in great city
The location is fine, with a car park facility if needed. The staff were organised to give out basic information about Orange, which answered most questions immediately, very helpful. Rooms and breakfast small and basic, but clean and workable....but probably a little expensive.
Good staff, parking was secure, good breakfast, location in centre of things, free wifi. overall very nice place to stop off in Orange. Rooms compact and a bit too small for all our luggage.
Good and friendly staff, helpful and attentive. Nice hotel , central and pretty in downtown Orange.
Building was an old mill which has been well converted. As weather was good ate all meals in open courtyard under trees, which had expensive feel with good tables, directors chairs, canopys and shrub filled urns. Although hotel is in village and 5 miles from town car (hire) is essential. The open air restaurant was in front of hotel, sometimes diners can be heard quite late. As a top gourmet restaurant the food is expensive, especially with strong euro, e.g.min. £100 per night for 2. But one has choice to eat outside the hotel, although there is limited choice locally.
The location , the staff and the food. The room was fine but minimal-less comfort than the quality of the restaurant would suggest but also was correctly priced
Excellent service in peaceful surroundings with a superb menu.Room 7basic,(e.g. hairdryer non functioning, and drainage in shower caused flooding)but quite adequate
Nothing. Glass floor with a look at the cave. Staff could not help with internet connection (Internet had been stated on web). We never got it in fact. Poor English. No electricity sockets in the room. Fortunately we always have a t connector and used the fridge socket. Hotel is positioning itself as a gastronomical one but nothing exciting except the prices. We had a strong feeling of being overcharged for at least 30% for meals. Breakfast (very poor one): price was different from the published on Web. On the web it was 10/person they have charged 15. Robbery.
Helpfulness of staff
Fantastic location and views Service was a bit half hearted on occasions. Steep climb both to the hotel and within the hotel to the terrace.
We like to stay in a gourmet place - the hotel is ok but the restaurent and the food is fantastic
Very professionally run hotel with outstanding restaurant. There is a garden and pool. Easy access to touring the vineyards of the southern Rhone.
Very friendly staff, very nice dinner & wine, with accepatable prices, we will come back !
The owners were both gracious and informative. The breakfast served was delicious and substantial. The location was perfect for our need to visit northern provence locations during a two-day stay before settling in at the house in l'isle-sur-la-sorgue which we were renting. Absolutely nothing. My only regret is that we did not partake of the dinner provided by the owners (at a fee of course), who in earlier times were restauranteurs as well as hotel owners. (Friends thought they could do better value wise outside. Wrong!)
Location and friendliness
This is a definite gem! The owners were wonderful people. We ate at their restaurant and the food was absolutely delicious! No!
The nice house and rooms, hospitality, area, nice garden The price for the breakfast is very high, for the choise.
Very friendly waiters, good meal, good atmosphere. Just a pleasant place to stay
The hotel has a reasonable good menu and the food was well prepared When arriving the parking place is full of rubbish, giving an immediate poor impression. The room we had was a bit shabby. Painting falling of the window. Bathroom outdated. No proper shower, only a shower in the bath. Sitting outside before dinner staff was walking around but did not ask if we wanted to drink anything. Taking into account that breakfast is charged separately the rooms are overcharged.
very convenient for motorway when travelling to st tropez. excellent restaurant. pretty hotel with very comfortable bed
The young couple who owned the hotel were wonderful hosts, it was a beautiful place to stay and the meals were truly gourmet. Unfortunately we were only there one night. There was nothing I didn't like - everything was fabulous
the restaurant was great nothing
The food and service were excellent and the staff were diligent, helpful, friendly, and courteous. No
Excellent restaurent with good wine list.
Its location, the pool and the food
Very charming country hotel with nice garden restaurant and shadow. Sophisticated professional cuisine. Staff was very and helpful with attention all the way. Difficult to find, print a map !
It was a quiet place where I could sleep well.
I suppose, one receives what one pays for. However, description of the hotel on your site did not state that the hotel consists of rooms that feel like containers. The room smelt of a heavy cleaning products, the window was very small, sound proofing non-existent, and the bathroom very small. I DID NOT LIKE this hotel - period.
location near motorway
The hotel is located on the entry of the city, very good accesible from the motorway (close to the exit). Smaller clean rooms. Enough parking places. Light dinner is offered in the nearby hotel. Breakfast is simple. The old city centre is good accessible by walk. The bathrooms are very small.
The use of the Campanile restaurant which was good value for money and the meals very tasty.
Inexpensive, convenient location near major highway. Tiny room, tinier bathroom. Impossible to shower without flooding the floor. Poor lighting in room. Everything made of plastic. Breakfast room like a mess-hall at camp, with small round stools (from kindergarten) to sit on. Asked for extra pillow to sleep on; was told none was available. No lift.
Really cheap, had all the basic necessities in the room, 15 minute walk to the center of town, towels included It is a completely a side of the road budget hotel and bathrooms are extremely small. You get what you pay for and it was really inexpensive.
Comfortable bed Room air conditioner blew hot continuously. Reception doors were missing handles
The helpfulness of the evening staff member The very small shower
Conveniently positioned close to the town Noise form dogs in the hotel
The price was right. We paid 39€ for one night and we felt the hotel was adequate for our needs. No frills, but we weren't expecting much and didn't stay long. Just a place to rest our heads on a road trip. Bed was reasonably comfortable. The automatic reception is convenient, but a little confusing. You park your care at the gate and then walk inside and use your credit card from the booking, and they issue you a room key and parking code. Nice to have a gate around the parking area. Only two towels provided. Very small bathroom and the shower water easily can get all over the bathroom. There was one electric outlet in the room, and none in the bathroom. Note: If you select the triple room, the third bed is overhead like a bunk bead. And if you don't select the triple room, there is still a place for an overhead bunk bed; just no mattress and you don't get a third towel. Warning: the GPS coordinates for the hotel on Booking.com were incorrect. Took us to a dark dead-end road with no hotels on it. It was a little scary; luckily our GPS had the hotel in its database so we found it after that.
