Good value dinners. Very handy for our purposes, ie bird watching in the area from Jerte to south of Trujillo. Staffing of the bar was inadequate. There was no dedicated bar staff, instead waitresses were called from the dining room.
it was well placed for what i wanted and everything was how it should be
This was the country part of our holiday - Salamanca & Toledo being the city part. Location for the National Park of Monfrague was excellent - a 15 minute drive and you could be watching Vultures and Black Storks at the superb Salte de Gitano, or off walking in the park itself. There are no towns within 25 miles and the local village of Torrejon el Rubio has not much to offer apart from stocking up for provisions for picnics on walks. The hotel itself was of interesting recent design and airy and pleasant. The reception staff were excellent and the Menu del dia at 16.50 euros in the restaurant provided good value and excellent. The room was spacious and well appointed. There was only one downside to the room - the unusual somewhat unpleasant smell emanating from the bathroom - this was probably because of the location meaning there was no connection to mains plumbing and certain disinfectants being used. There was a dividing door which meant this smell did not encroach on the main bedroom, and we did to a large extent get used to it!
Location is superb near the parque. Very relaxed stay. Good kitchen. Restaurant with highly priced menu, but the daily-menu is very good (also enough choice) and not expensive. Design-rooms is nice but not always very handsome.
The hotel is located in a very nice natural environment.
Proximity of P.N. Monfragüe The "menu of the day" could be improved.
The service and the unusual architecture The front entrance garden and car park look very shabby and unkept which belies the smartness and comfort of the hotel inside.
This is a poorly designed, starkly furnished and badly maintained hotel with painted or bare concrete walls, ill fitting wooden flooring, shoddy furniture and plumbing system the sound of a jump jet. Four stars bears no relation to the level of comfort but the price does. It's only redeeming feature is proximity to Monfrague but Casa Rurales or Trujillo would be preferable.
I liked the setting of the hotel, the outside terrace and the fact that the air conditioning was working well.
The space and scenery around the Hotel itself. Also the use of the swimming pool. Just one thing, the outdoor swimming pool did not have a life guard which of course absolutely necessary and if I am not mistaken obligatory by law.
