Staff was extremely friendly, secure parking, great location ,,,liked it so much, am planning on staying again this weekend for my trip back to Belgium Beds could have been more comfortable, breakfast for 14 euros was a bit overpriced for what there was to offer, however the good definitely outweigh the few neagives
Good breakfast, excellent location, good parking facilities Rooms were small and furniture was old and badly needs updating.
Personnel de l hotel Non
Perfect waiter service with our evening meal. including a formidable wine recommendation! I would have liked my stay to be longer
Helpful staff and a very pleasant although standard "big hotel chain" room. Comfortable and clean, with good bathroom facilities. Good location just opposite Les Halles and an easy walk to local shops, restaurants, tourist sites etc. Nice gardens overlooking the lower parts of the city - which in truth aren't all that pretty! Decent breakfast. We would have liked to take our breakfast outside in the gardens but all tables had been used by the time we came down and they weren't being cleared very fast. No doubt had we asked a able would have been cleraed but there seemed to be only one preson on breakfast duty looking after several sets of guests
Good location, easy on site parking comfortable rooms, good value for money and good value breakfast
Very short stay but comfortable in a good position in the centre of a nice city.
The staff very friendly and accomodating. Front desk staff can speak English well. Lobby, common areas, restaurant very nicely renovated and clean. Rooms older and in need of some care, but were very clean. Although not spacious, our room was very liveable. Can walk to all sorts of shops and restaurants right out front door. Can walk (uphill about 8 minutes) from TGV train station if you know your way around. Felt safe in this hotel. Enjoyed our stay very much.
location is excellent, good value for the money. Had stayed there the previous week and was very pleased with the staffs friendliness This time when I booked, I had requested the reception to make dinner reservations for us at a restaurant which has good seafood that iswithin walking distance. When we arrived, the lady at the reception stated they had not made reservation after all "we don't know what you like to eat" Generally, staff was not as friendly as the previous weekend, When we were in the lobby bar (Internet hook up there) staff was too busy socializing with each other to attend to our drink orders
Dinner was good Not clear that hotel was close to station but up a very steep slope
Excellent concessionaire extremely helpful
The range of food for breakfast was excellent and the bathroom facilities very good. The only negative comment would be the location in relation to the centre ville. It is a 20-30 minute walk.
Pleasant, helpful receptionist. Noisy road outside.
Friendly atmosphere clean and neat Could do with a few more hooks for hanging things on E.G. for drying towels
Friendly and helpful staff. The water from the cold tap was warm even after running the tap for 10 minutes or so. It made drinking the water impossible. Not a very nice location in Angoulême.
Excellent for an overnight stay on a long motoring journey. The twin room and en suite bathroom were very good and very quiet considering we were facing a moderately busy suburban roundabout. The continental breakfast was very good indeed and the gentleman on reception was very pleasant and couldn't have been more helpful struggling with his english and me struggling with my french. Needed a car journey to reach the centre of Angouleme for restaurants, sight seeing, etc., but car parking free for first half-hour before 18.30 & entirely free after.
Clean. Nice walk along river nearby. Very dark and depressing decor. Corridor pitch black until you fumble around and find light switch! Nowhere to eat within walking distance. Noisy. On busy road. No tea and coffee making facilities.
bad location, right on a roundabout, no air conditioning in rooms, you need the window open in hot weather then you can't sleep from the noise of the traffic. one steak restaurant within 10 min walk anything else you have to use the car. lots of retail around if you want to buy a car or furniture. pleasant staff but thats all.
Hotel stuff was very helpfull, guided us to city centre for food without even asking for it! Excellent wi-fi connection, best one we have had during our month long trip.
Very friendly staff Room a little dark and decor tied
It was in need of some renovation
Excellent and friendly staff, comfortable rooms with galconies to the rear. Convenient parking make this very convenient for an overnight stop. Air conditioning is the only missingitem for mid-summer comfort.
Friendly staff, decent rooms
The room had a balcony and a market down the street. Parking in back. The neighborhood was average - a bit of a hike to the sites.
The proximity to the centre of town. It was easy to walk in. I also liked the fact that they had a free carpark. The bread at breakfast time was not as good as most French bread we have had in other hotels.
Quite a way out of town
Nice and clean, good location. Good value for money. Some of the staff were very nice and helpful. Unable to check out 1 hour later upon request, without getting a reason as to why. The receptionist, aka the owner, did not book our taxi as per our request and therefore we nearly missed our train. She did however drive us down to the station in the end.
Clean room with small balcony, could be a little noisy due to traffic. Slightly further from town centre than anticipated.
location...good price... welcoming staff..eager to help!! the receptionist even gave as a city map and explained everything. the parking on the back is a huge plus! The room was small for 3 people, the carpet was dirty, the hotel needs a renovation, the Wc has no ventilation. We ordered for a coffee the first morning and they charged as 4 breakfast as they brought breakfast that we havent asked for!!carefull about this!
Comparable to U.S. motel room. Air conditioned, lift, balcony, parking, and nice people.
We used this hotel as an overnight stop but restaurent was not available at weekend, only breakfast. This info should be made clear. There appears to be only one other eating place within easy walking distance.
Clean and quiet. Breakfast excellent
Newly refurbished, clean room. Great bathroom & shower. Very good breakfast included. Staff seemed new & unsure of what to do at times. Dinner was not the best quality & expensive.
The nice, newly decorated room.
1) The hotel never heard of me when I arrived,in spite of my booking through you.2) The price offered was exactly the same as your "rebate offer" Could not get breakfast served in the room. Very poor wine list with no red Bordeaux available. I shall no longer use your services.
Stayed in Ibis hotels before so what we expected. Clean but basic. Comfortable bed. Difficult to find with little or no signposting on a large commercial estate. No restaurant so we were directed to the Etap hotel next door. The food was poor and expensive.
Good location and handy having eating place next door. Room very comfortable and clean. Would stay again en - route to Spain. No tea and coffee facilities in rooms.
Convenient to the motorway and a comfortable stay
Clean, close to the motorway and reasonably priced. Unfortunately now there are no evening meals served at this hotel. After a long drive it is very inconvenient and may make you think about staying at another hotel.
Good location and easy check-in Nobody to assist during breakfast despite there being a shortage of food and drink. Also the dirty trays were not removed.
Tea and coffee supplied in room.Very clean
Staff were friendly and efficient Too close to major road - traffic noise all night
More like a motel but ok value for an overnight pitstop only!
The owner was charming and most helpful.
Adequate room was clean and well appointed for a budget hotel. Good shower better than most. We were not told that we had to book for a meal in the restaurant on the Saturday evening. After a lot of persuasion the staff did let us have a platter of food.
An attractive setting, as pictured on the website, offsets the motel-style building. Check-in and check-out were efficient. The restautant offered an attractive buffet-style hors d'oeuvre and dessert once we had worked out the menu. The entrance to the hotel was not easy to find. This was partly because the map on the website is wrong - the hotel is on the East side of the N10 where the map shows it on the West.
The staff is excellent, very kind and willing to help. Location is also good, extremely close to rail station.
Hotel Terminus is a good, basic hotel, walking distance to the town centre. The rooms are small but are quiet and comfortable and have recently been refurbished.
The staff were excellent. My train was due to arrive around the time the hotel reception closed but they offfered to stay open in case of delay (which there was). The bathroom had recently been re-done for a wheelchair and the room was very clean and comfortable. The new bathroom has a raised shower area, and water runs downhill - luckily not as far as the bedroom!
Good central position, short walk to shops and facilities. Staff very friendly, room small but what you would expect from Budget hotel, very clean and looked recently decorated. The ceiling fan was very welcome on a hot night. Shower cubicle a bit small, but very clean and modern fittings
room in need of complete re-docoration but was clean
When we pointed out a few small problems, they were instantly fixed. The staff were very helpful. The hotel is convenient, only 10 minutes walk from Angouleme centre.
The buffet breakfast was well worth the extra euro's
Hot water cleanliness, lovely staff, excellent food. Everything good Nasty flooring in bathroom and toilet
Cleanliness was an issue. outside access through multiple doors and doorways is not very convenient
The outside iews to the garden, and the space of the room, the possibility of taking the bggages out of the car close to the room I was twice and the second one there were less towels and no cooffe-milk-tea in the free snaks availble in the room
location relatively dirty
Generally good experience Had problem checking in. I arrived after check in closed due to a problem in town. The auto check in machine did not recognise my booking details. I could only get a roomby booking all over again. I hope I am only charged once!
hotel met all our expectations any was perfectly functional, keenly priced ,clean and with helpful staff a bit far from angouleme centre if you were not travelling by car but it had excellent access to national roads which was useful for trips to neighbouring towns
Ideal location for an overnight stop Shower head would not stay upright
Quiet, nicely furnished, larger than average rooms.Good breakfasts & evening meals at hotel. Friendly staff willing to struggle with our lack of French language.
the room was lovley the breakfast for 8 euros was quite poor
Staff had little english, but went out of their way to help us. Good restaurant nearby. N/A
Clean Well attended for Cleaning/Towels/Bedding (Done Daily) Good Continental Breakfast served in room Good Shower Bathroom rather cramped, but otherwise no complaints
clean and tidy, it was also easy to get to did not like the bolster type pillow, the shower had no bracket to hold the head. this made it difficult to have a shower.
Very friendly staff. Great breakfast served in the room. Very close to restaurant for all budgets. We were there for 2cv Rally and the hotel was a really nice surprise!!! The bathrooms had too little room.. Showers were handheld.
friendly staff and service, very helpful
Location of restaurant at Campanile next door Washroom facilities were a little cramped
The bed was comfortable and although the room was very basic it had all the essentials. We liked the breakfast facilities in the reception area and enjoyed the range of food/drink available. Particularly the hot milk which enabled us to make the weaker milky coffees that we like.
The receptionist was very polite and helpful.
Close to motorway Small room. Very untidy outside the hotel
Nothing really except the 15% discount at the Campenille Room was too small and dark, no tea/coffee making facilities, the bed was dreadful, the overhead bunk dangerous, the bathroom was ridiculous, no useful mirrors for the lady, no storage and more surfaces required to put things.
the hotel was just a stones throw from the motorway very easy to find, but i didnt hear any noise from traffic and had a very good nights sleep.the room was basic but was clean and tidy if i was doing the same journey i would book in here again
Nothing There was no staff on arrival. Very small room and chlostrafobic.
Cheap and simple Hard to find
It had a room available when everything was booked There was just enough floor space to walk around the bed, the "bathroom" was a plastic institutional unit placed in the corner, no phone, noise from the highway all night, dreadful breakfast. All this for over $100 per night - a rate that was obviously inflated for the local event.
Its location The fantastically uncomfortable beds and the bed bugs that lived in them
clean room; en suite; restaurant; environment; pool room a bit on the small side; breakfast - not much food left by the time we arrived for breakfast-food drink came eventually - but we had to ask
The outlook from the restaurant to the lake is lovely, parking felt secure and the pool seemed clean and well maintained. It is easy to find from local major roads and yet a quiet and peaceful country environment. I thought the food overpriced for its quality and the menue limited, as it is in the country there is no alternative dining venue on the doorstep, which might be a problem if one was staying for a longer period.
Swimming pool lovely. Good food. Room had terrace with chairs good. Lovely setting. Pre-dinner drinks expensive, breakfast pricey and service at breakfast was poor (although excellent in the evening). Good dog walk and good for couples, less so for families.
Country atmosphere, very quiet mostly, very scenic, good restaurant For an english person not speaking much french, staff had little english
Swimming pool. Food was expensive, location poor in the middle of nowhere
The staff members at the hotel are very friendly and helpful and the country scenery is very relaxing.
Welcoming owner who spoke English well, and who was very helpful. My room was upgraded because of the limited number of guests staying at the time. Breakfast variety was good. Restaurant staff were a little uninterested. Evening meal was very ordinary.
The peacefulness, the pool, and the food. Also it was interesting that none of the staff tried to communicate with us in English after I introduced myself in French.
Everything was nice.I liked the central location of the hotel.I also liked the shower cabin-very comfortable. Some representatives of the stuff are really frindly people, though their English leaves much to be desired.; Sometimes on Sundays there was no one at reception for hours-very inconvivient....!!!
good location room decor could do with improving
Convenient location to central city and railway station and easy to find (i) no reception staff when I arrived and had to seek a phone (I don't travel with a mobile) in another hotel nearby to call to access entry and key; this is probably related to time of year (late October); the reception was not open from 12pm-5pm (ii) when I got to floor, no lights on and very difficult to find the room number in the dark
Central location Poor room lighting. Noise from other rooms via air vent. We booked a larger room with a bath but only smaller room was available -price was adjusted.
Breakfast, helpfull staff Interior design, very old fashion
Pleasant relaxed atmosphere, staff were helpful and friendly
Not a lot really.... The hotel location is at a very busy crossroads/roundabout and this made access by car almost impossible...I had to circle the city center and call the hotel on my mobile to get them to open their garage doors as the entrance to this is on a very busy street with no parking! The parking itself was very small and difficult to manouvere in. I would suggest the public car park across the road as a better and easier option. The room was very small and very old fashioned and a little shabby. The bed was very uncomfortble and old and the breakfast was terrible, hardly anything available, we had to ask for milk, bread and croissants etc....
ease of going out to eat limited parking and no stopping outside
Friendly staff. Comfortable bed. Nice shower. Breakfast was average and a bit overpriced, but it's optional so you can always go elsewhere.
Convenient for the railway station and old town. Good flat screen tv Comfortable king size plus bed Peaceful Friendly family hotel On an awkward corner for picking up luggage with our hire car. Only one pavement starddling parking bay. Not a big issue though.
ease of access toilet and shoer areas a bit on the cramped side
Easy accessable from the highway. For that room rate one should not expect too much of comfort. Cleanliness of the room let a lot to desire. I had spiders on the walls and some dead insects in front of the bed on the floor. Shutters at window did not work. Internet connection weak and at very slow speed, often only at 2MB.
I picked Angouleme as a convenient overnight stop on my way to Ouistreham Ferry Port. The hotel was ideally situated
handy, overnight stop on our trip from spain to ferry port
I was travelling from Disney Resort to Portugal. I made the booking without any information about it. It was an experience.
The room was comfortable and very warm in the cold weather. The Wi-fi is very useful. The notice stating 'No guard' makes it obvious to thieves that there is no security.
Easy to access once we had found it. We came for the Circuit de Remparts.
The air-conditioning. Depressing room. Too small. Could not wait to leave. Only place I have ever stayed where the guests were warned that they would be charged for any linens that they took from the room.
The that the room was clean. Apart from the cleanliness,it was an exact replica of the F1 at Bordeaux. There was only about 12 inches between the end of the bed and the wall. This would cause any reasonably tall person to knock their head or shoulder on the coat rack. The shower must have been designed for stick insects and the best way to use the toilet was to reverse in.! The walls were paper thin and sleep was impossible due to unruly kids and loudmouthed adults. If any body expects a night's sleep, my advice is go somewhere else.
Although it wasn't ideal to meet our desire for a city trip, it would be convenient for motorway users. The bathrooms are fibreglass and feel plasticky. Everything is tiny and parking lot noise woke us up frequently.
