Pros: The hotel is a building behind the owner's house. When you arrive, there is limited parking on the street, but there is a free, public parking lot behind the hotel. You have to drive around the block to get to the entrance. This was a very large one bedroom apartment with a kitchen (stocked with dishes and cooking utensils) and dining room. It is a short walk (~20 min.) to Schloss Eyrichshof, and even shorter walk to the supermarket, drugstore, and old town. Great location with a wonderful host!
Pros: Everything was as listed, owner was friendly and helpful. Property clean and of good standard.
Cons: I have no complaints

The soundproofed bedrooms have a flat-screen TV, a desk, and a private bathroom with a shower, a hairdryer and free toiletries. You can enjoy city views from the rooms. The suite with terrace features a fully equipped kitchen and a dining area. This bed and breakfast is 3 km from Veste Coburg Castle and 10 km from Schloss Rosenau Castle. The property offers free parking. Nuremberg Airport is 100 km away.
Pros: Beautifully renovated. Perfect location. Small and personal. Loved staying there.
Pros: The property/hotel is ideally situated as it is very close to the town centre. The staff was super nice, the rooms were spacious, clean and very nice, and the breakfast was delicious.
Pros: What a wonderful place to stay. I'll be honest and say that the name swung it for me - going to Coburg to visit exhibitions about Victoria and Albert where else wold you stay?! It was lovely, the room large and comfortable, a sitting area along with cold drinks and kettle for tea right nearby, a really good breakfast and friendly staff. Great location as in easy walking distance of all I needed to get to but far enough from the centre to be quiet at all times too. I would certainly book again if I were going back to Coburg for any reason.
Pros: Beautiful view from our room, large updated room with spacious bathroom. On-site parking, property just outside the entrance to the Old Town. So convenient! Delicious breakfast in the old building. So quaint and welcoming.
Pros: A perfect location near the centre of the city. Re-newed rooms with beautiful bathroom and a lot of space. Very nice the room for breakfast where the host has taken care for all details.
Cons: Everything was perfect
Pros: no breakfast included. Our room in the new addition was right over the walking area to the courtyard so when you had to have windows open you could hear people below.
Pros: Just a five minute walk from the historic city center. We had the Albert Suite, which was large and comfortable.
Cons: When we arrived shortly after 4 p.m. the door was locked and no one answered the door bell. A delivery person came by and pointed out the sign, in German, at the side of the door that instructed people to call a phone number to get a code to gain entry. We don't speak German, so we had no clue, and would have had no idea what to do if the delivery person had not arrived. When we did get in, keys to a dozen rooms were arrayed on the desk with customer names on them. This seems to be a very unsafe way to handle check in. Anyone could have taken our key, ransacked our room, and then left the key back on the desk. It turns out that there is no one on site after about 1 p.m. until late afternoon and that person leaves at 8 p.m., again a safety concern. Plus, there was no phone in our room, so if an emergency had happened, you are out of luck. There is a phone in the hallway, but we didn't notice it until we check out.

Pros: Great hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice large room, comfortable and clean. Good selection of drinks in the minibar. Good breakfast with a great selection to choose from. Good restaurant and menu, great food. Best of all is the wide selection of fantastic local brewed beers. Overall a very good hotel which I highly recommend.
Pros: Room, easy access to Obermain Therme, Friendly personal, excellent breakfast buffet. Water and Apples
Cons: Shower was a little tight, toilet was too close to wall in the room. Decoration in the upstairs hallways.
Pros: Perfect spa facility with lot of sauna houses and hot whirllpools.
Pros: Superb service by all the personal of the hotel. Quiet location. Very spacious rooms. The bar provides a menu with local beer covering several pages.
Pros: the location of the Hotel is perfect! Facilities as well (rate includes 3 h free use of thermal bath). Breakfast was EXCELLENT! Dinner as well. Staff is extremely friendly (they offered us Sekt for birthday in our room)!
Cons: Everything OK - we like to return to this Hotel! Thank you!

Pros: I had stayed there before so knew what to expect. It was as good this time as before.
Pros: Excellent hotel, Really friendly staff, great food, excellent facilities! One of my favourite hotels.
Pros: The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food in the restaurant was outstanding and so was the breakfast. The room we had was big and comfortable.
Pros: Exceptional staff! We had an early flight and would miss breakfast. The lady we spoke to and who settled our bill made sure we had a good breakfast to go waiting for us in the morning.
Cons: Another shelf in the bathroom would be helpful

Pros: WONDERFUL LOCATION!!!! ALL WENT SMOOTHLY AND AS PROMISED!! WONDERFUL ROOM AND VIEW!!!! WILL COME BACK! THANK YOU!
Pros: Stylish in old timer house in center overlooking historical market square with real market.
Pros: I have travelled the World and stayed at more hotels than I care to remember but this one in Coburg is right at the top. You can keep all the Dubai & Las Vegas type hotels and give me this one. You are living history when you stay here as building is historical. The room was large with all the modern facilities we expect these days but without ruining the vibe of the building. It was spotlessly clean and the staff were charming and helpful . Location wise was perfect as right in the main square .
Cons: Nothing as it was all perfect
Pros: This is a bare bones hotel. I got a LARGE room with a great view. The location could not be better.
Cons: I could not find the laundry facility which is mentioned in the literature. But this was not a big deal.
Pros: Hotel is located in a very central position with all facilities nearby. Although no breakfast available there are several cafes nearby or with a room with kitchenette one can make your own coffee etc. Stairs are a bit tricky, however this a building with character.
Cons: All was fine.
Pros: Location is simply fantastic. The room was large, with comfortable furniture. The kitchen is equipped with everything needed.
Cons: Our windows headed the market and it was a little bit noisy in the morning as they start delivering at 6:00.
Pros: The hotel DID NOT OFFER breakfast facilities. One had to find breakfast elsewhere on the market square.

Pros: Amazing breakfast. Very nice, quiet hotel. Spacious rooms, very comfortable beds. Rooms with nice views. Nice and friendly hosts. I highly recommend this place to the others an wish to come back
Pros: Very clean and very recently renovated room. Two minutes walking distance from the center of the town. Complimentary water bottles. The staff was friendly and supportive. Perfect location if you are riding with your bike on the Mainradweg.
Cons: There is no elevator. Not a problem for us - we are young and strong :-) but be aware if you have impaired mobility.
Pros: Friendly owners, comfortable room, great breakfast. We even had dinner which was superb.

Pros: Clean and very quiet rooms, super friendly staff, tasty and relatively low price in restaurant
Cons: Breakfast food variety could be better.
Pros: Nice and kind team, nice breakfast, quite hotel, but....
Cons: Quite dark rooms, bit used even if hotel is few years up, bed noise when you moove a single finger....insulation very poor (You can hear ppl walking on corridor during night) and heating system is unsufficient to be warm in your room... Food is too much cooked and deserts to creamy...
Pros: Overall Hotel Service are awesome and location are great.
Cons: Nothing I dislike this Hotel

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Pros: Nice fresh bread selection. Tasty coffee.
Cons: Bacon was swimming in oil - there should be a toast bread placed underneeth to absorb the oil.
Pros: Very good breakfast with variety of food. Location not in the centre but we were ready for walking to the centre (15 minutes). Nice and supportive staff.
Pros: Good room and a good breakfast, also a small bar with a great football table.
Cons: No air con.
Pros: We loved the plants you could "adopt" for the duration of the stay. The breakfast was plentiful, delicious & varied. The room was spacious & quiet. The staff were all very friendly & helpful, including allowing us to move our "no refund" booking to a later date because of illness.
Cons: A fitness room would've been nice. The charge for the underground car park is slightly annoying, given there is no on-street parking near the hotel.
Pros: The best hotel in Coburg so far.
Offering traditional Franconian food, country-style rooms with modern bathrooms, and a massage service, this family-run hotel in Bad Staffelstein lies in the scenic Upper Main Valley. The Landferienhotel Augustin has spacious rooms with light wooden furniture and a TV. Free Wi-Fi internet is available in all public areas. Varied breakfast buffets are provided at the Augustin. 3-course dinners are on offer in the hotel's Dorfstube restaurant. The Landferienhotel Augustin is a great base for hiking and cycling trips in the Fränkische Schweiz-Veldensteiner Forst Nature Park.
Pros: Really a great location for exploring Oberfranken--Vierzehnheiligen, Kloster Banz, Bamberg, Coburg, etc. Beautiful and quiet setting and easy access to the Autobahn. They also had a wonderful 3 course menu to offer each night. Super service! I'll be back!
Cons: No complaints really. As an American, I wish there were screens on the windows so that no insects could come in on warm days/evenings, but it wasn't really a big problem.
Cons: The pillows are too soft... I would like to see a more firm pillow
Pros: Beautiful hotel with many lovely touches and decorations. Breakfast was delicious. We stayed for dinner twice and very much enjoyed it. Great outdoor seating even when raining! Staff very kind.
Cons: Wish we had tea and coffee in the room.
Cons: Pictures in the booking page show a spa area and pool. That actually not on site - it is more as 8km away! Hotel is close to a main road- can be a bit noisy. Food of the restaurant was just headed up and too expensive of what it is. You find better places in that area to stay.
This family-run hotel is located in Coburg town centre on the southern edge of the Thuringian Forest. Ringhotel Stadt Coburg offers free Wi-Fi internet access, free private parking and a traditional restaurant. Featuring an open grill, the Ringhotel Coburg’s Backstüble restaurant serves Franconian dishes and Mediterranean cuisine. In summer months, meals and drinks can be enjoyed on the spacious terrace. The classically furnished rooms at the Ringhotel Stadt Coburg have a large bathroom, and a flat-screen TV with cable channels. Bicycles can also be rented at the hotel reception. Coburg’s historic marketplace and Ehrenberg Castle are approximately 1 km away.
Pros: We stayed for two nights and booked a suite. We were most impressed at quality of the building and the decor, and how immaculately clean it was. The room was superb. A large bedroom, another large sitting room, conservatory and a super large bathroom. We found it very comfortable. Dinner and breakfast was good too. There was also a large car park, suitable for us to park a large van. Within walking distance of shops and other restaurants. Highly recommended..
Cons: Just small complaints, as we thought the hotel was superb. A television in the lounge area of our room would have been nice. The beds were a little on the firm side for us. The pillows were really tiny, not very plump.
Pros: The waitress on our first morning was wonderful.. she made us an omelette and was a charming sweet and helpful person! We liked the foyer and there was a sweet dog to greet us! Parking was easy and an umbrella was provided!
Cons: On the second day it was clear that they couldn’t cope with the numbers at breakfast... many items were missing by the time we came down, but were replenished when we asked..and there was no cooked breakfast... not enough staff! Service was very slow... and far too many people milling around in a small space. The room was rather more basic than we expected.. no toiletries at all and nothing in the minibar.. not even water.. although there was a vending machine in the foyer...
Pros: Very spacious suite on first floor. Car parking was good, even electric charging point, and the staff were very attentive and multi-tasking.
Cons: Air conditioning could be improved, but the weather was very hot.
Pros: Location is very convenient. This is the reason for choosing the Hotel.
Cons: The breakfast lacks a bit compared to some other Hotels. Very little Vegetables. No fish. One type of sausage or bacon. Have to ask for some condiments. Breakfast may well cater for German taste only. Breakfast has fancy image but common things missing. Various jams but no ketchup or mustard. Was hot so I bought a fan.
Pros: Easy access from/ to train station, walking distance to the city center, comfortable room etc. - it is just nice place to stay. Very kind host - she was waiting for us, although we arrived with a good delay.
Pros: The location was good and easily accessible to all major attractions and city centre . The hotel was basic and had all basic facilities . Photos on here are a little misleading as it looks more attractive than it is . There are some amazing restaurants within walking distance .
Cons: Overall it needed updating our room had to be deep cleaned on request as there were plenty of cobwebs hanging down which was a little off putting . Take aspirins as the beds are like boards breakfast basic and food has to be asked for . Not a huge selection . If travelling by car make sure to return early to assure your space not enough parking spaces for all guests . Very overpriced for such basic facilities . Staff very dismissive and not over obliging . Have stayed in some amazing hotels in Coburg before so be sure to look around before booking this one .
Pros: The reason to stay is mainly location, plus room has a minibar fridge. Some Hotels do not. Supermarket and train station both close. Rooms are a good standard. I took a single room to save money but bed seemed like a double.
Cons: Breakfast lacks a bit of variety, from day to day, especially when low customers (e.g. Sunday). They are concerned a little too much with what looks classy rather than just put things out quickly. Only scrambled or boiled eggs, sausages and bacon, in cooked food. Not much stuff for vegetarians. Oats had honey mixed in unfortunately so I brought my own. Maybe my tastes are different coming from another country. Its probably a normal German breakfast. No electric jug or coffee machine in room. Can get a coffee downstairs at times. No aircon so may need a fan in hot weather. Most Hotels in area have no aircon only heating.
Pros: Location and comfort. Fan was provided in case of hot weather.
Cons: Not much at breakfast for vegetarians. Some fruits and cereal. Some other hotels have cooked vegs. Maybe that is not so popular in Germany. Breakfast is boring probably due to small Hotel. Cleaning staff seem to insist to close the windows.
Just 300 metres away from Rödental Train Station, this 3-star hotel offers a traditional-style brewery, Franconian cuisine, and a 24-hour reception. The Veste Coburg Castle is a 15-minute drive away. GORSCH Brauhotel & Gasthof has elegant rooms with flat-screen TVs, minibars, and wooden décor. Wired internet access is available on request. Regional specialities are prepared in the Brauhotel’s restaurant with beer garden. Guests can also tour the brewery and enjoy freshly tapped beer. The A73 motorway is only 2 km away from the Brauhotel & Gasthof GORSCH. The historic city of Bamberg is a 40-minute drive away.
Pros: Very good breakfast! Close to the train station.
Cons: Very bad pillows. Glass door to the bathroom. No privacy.
Cons: This Gasthof was a great vaule, staff were wonderful and great location and the food excellent.
Pros: The room was updated and modern. The sleep was good. The restaurant is outstanding for Lunch and Dinner. The meats and breads were quite good.
Cons: Breakfast was a little disappointing in that the eggs were greasy and the sausage of poor quality selection.
Pros: Location was close to shops and DBahn The gift left for my son. The breakfast was nice Beer ist das beste indeed. Very good
Cons: There were no coffee and kettle in the room. The apples in the room were very old and wrinkled. The restaurant seats and tables and wall was not clean and food for me personally not good and not anything different.
Pros: very friendly staff and very clean room
Pros: Friendly staff. Clean, comfortable room. Delicious breakfast. Delicious dinner in the restaurant.
Cons: Room was too warm, even with radiators off and windows open. Floor heating in bathroom could not be reduced.
A stay at Hotel Goldene Traube places you in the heart of Coburg, steps from Marktplatz and 4 minutes by foot from St. Moriz. Featured amenities include express check-in, express check-out, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Pros: Good sized room, big bathroom, walk in wardrobe and comfortable sitting area.
Cons: All was good.
Pros: This is a classy hotel in the Coburg Altstadt. In walking distance of everything in downtown Coburg, with plenty of restaurants, pubs, shops, etc. The staff is friendly and helpful, and very professional. Rooms are nice with upgraded bathrooms. Parking is easy in the city parking deck just a 2 minute walk away.
Pros: Best breakfast ever. Very comfy beds. Beautiful hotel.
Cons: Parking is quite expensive. Maybe the garage could make a deal with the hotel to have special prices for guests. We stayed in another hotel in another town this weekend where they did this and had a large discount for hotel guests in the parking garage nearby.
Pros: Were it not for its fatal flaw (and it is a fatal flaw: no air conditioning, which makes its rooms scorchingly, unbearably, unendurably hot in the summer), this would be a truly splendid hotel. I requested and was given a balcony room, and was thrilled to have, from my balcony, a fine view of the city’s greatest site: the legendary Veste Coburg, perched atop a hill overlooking town like a fairytale castle. The room itself was marvellously spacious. The drinks in the minibar were free (an outstanding touch, one that I consider to be the hallmark of a truly great hotel). The 6:30 breakfast start time was most welcome (though 6:00 start times are preferable), and the breakfast was generous and diverse, with sausages joining bacon as accompaniments to the scrambled eggs. The location, though rather far from the main train station, is right in the heart of town, so all of the city’s most appealing Altstadt sights are a short walk away. The bathroom was quite spacious, and the free bathrobe was most welcome. Plus, it was nice for once to be in a hotel that more closely resembled an elegant Victorian mansion than a modern apartment building.
Cons: Regrettably, the hotel’s fatal flaw — NO AIR-CONDITIONING — cancels out its many, many fine features. I simply don’t understand how a hotel can have a four-star rating and no AC. My room was a absolute oven for the entire four days that I stayed here, which the room fan did but little to mitigate. (I slept with the window and balcony door wide open and still found the room hot at night, to say nothing of its furnace-like conditions during the day.) Also, the distance from the main train station is quite significant, so if one is on foot, one should be aware that one will be porting one’s main luggage a good ways to get here. As a minor point, I found that the staff were not as knowledgeable/helpful as one might expect: for example, I asked the male front-desk clerk if there were a camera store near to the hotel where I could get a memory card, and he told me of a media store way on the outskirts of town (not an option, given that I was on foot); well, I later discovered that, yes, there IS a camera store in the Altstadt, quite close to the Goldene Traube! To say the least, this is basic knowledge that I would expect a hotel clerk to be able to provide in a smaller town such as this. Also, the breakfast staff might be advised that one should remove used dishes when a guest is away from the table, not in front of the guest’s nose in the middle of a meal. But those are small points: it really was the lack of air conditioning that ruined my stay here. I’ve even seen lower-budget hotels affix their rooms with cheap, remote-controlled AC units (not much larger than space heaters), and as temperature control makes all the difference during a summertime stay, I can’t fathom why this otherwise upscale hotel would not be thus equipped.
Pros: A large room, free minibar.
Cons: The receptioneast was eating something and working to check in and she didn’t give me any information about breakfast and wifi and so on. Nothing. Just checked in and realeased room key. That’s all. And there was also no informations about hotel, breakfast, using wifi and so on in the room. Just big large room.
Pros: Lovely, comfortable rooms close to centre
Pros: Breakfast is great. So many options. The dining room dinner options are also delicious.

Centrally located, we are only a few minutes walking distance to the city centre, main shopping street & the railway station. Pros: The Staff was professional and helpful. The Breakfast was very nice and included protein choices. The rooms are clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is within walking distance of the historical district.
Cons: It was very hot and the room included a fan but there is no air conditioning. Because it was so hot it was an uncomfortable 15 minute walk to reach the market center. The parking spaces are pretty small, and it was difficult to park a small SUV.
Pros: Overall, good hotel good value good breakfast. Nice and helpful staff. In terms of location, it’s a little bit of a walk to city center.
Cons: The main restaurant on the property was closed for entire week because of Pentecost. This was a little inconvenient, I’m getting food was not very convenient .
Pros: clean, quiet , functional
Cons: wifi slow
Pros: Clean. Breakfast acceptable.
Cons: Room is small wash room is tiny. Roof is too low. Mattress is bad and too soft. Not equal to the price. Will not be my choice any more.
Located in Ahorn, Ringhotel Schloss Hohenstein is within a 10-minute drive of Equipment Museum of the Coburg Region and Wildpark Schloss Tambach. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Wonderful full European breakfast cooked to order
Cons: Liked everything. Wish we could have stayed longer!
Pros: Great Service, very nice property, quite surroundings
Pros: The great outdoor environment. Nice pictures from outside of property.
Cons: The owner was a very difficult man who could not tolerate any criticism of his property. The Romanian staff were neither able to speak English nor German and were poorly trained. My so-called 'comfort room' was in an outhouse and not in the Castle as indicated in the images on the website. My bathroom was on a shared landing with joint access to the bathroom. I was also sharing the Outhouse with the hotel staff. To get to the outhouse you need to walk past an enormous kennel with large guard dog. Okay if you are used to that. The bedding was worn and the feather quills were beginning to protrude through covers to cause irritation. When I addressed these issues to the owner I was treated unprofessionally, with scorn and derision. In the castle itself, the reception is incredibly basic. I could not find any reception rooms in case of a rainy day. When I asked what star rating the Hotel had; I was told that one wasn't required but if requested, the owner claimed, his hotel would automatically be awarded 4 stars. I had to laugh at this because there is no way, from what I had already experienced, that this would be the case. I paid circa €80/night and would need a further €11 for breakfast. I didn't like the breakfast and didn't order any more. The hotel owner insisted however on charging me for 2 breakfasts. I addressed this and the fact that my bedding was so bad only to be told quite curtly that I could leave if I wanted to. This was on a Sunday in a foreign country and I had no idea if I would find anything else. By afternoon I had a solution and went to collect my belongings. The nastiness of the place had me leave 2 days early at my expense. I was then subsequently accused of taking the key and threatened with a court case if I failed to return it. Good luck if you book into this house of horror. My lament continues but space is running out....
Pros: Breakfast was fantastic. Eggs made to order and a lovely Buffett to complement it.
Pros: Romantic and very cool - food is amazing!
Pros: Loved staying in a castle and discovering the many hallways and rooms. Bathroom was modern with shower and plenty of hot water.
Pros: Food & service was fantastic atmosphere in the hotel was perfect
Cons: the room was modern Ikea like not ike the foto's with a kastel like design. it missed ambiance, also the wall where covered with dust. The bed was soft cheap standard bed not the bed you expect in a good hotel. Surrounding ground looked neglected which downplayed a lot on the location
