Set in the mountain village of Seytroux, a 25-minute drive from Lake Geneva and Thonon-les-Bains, La Halte du Moulin offers guest rooms with wooden décor. Free private parking is available on site. Each room includes a wardrobe and a bathroom with a shower and free toiletries. A continental breakfast is served daily. It is also possible to enjoy traditional, regional cuisine at the on-site restaurant upon reservation. There is also a designated area with free WiFi access. La Halte du Moulin is a 15-minute drive from Morzine and the Portes du Soleil ski resort. The thermal town of Evian-les-Bains is a 30-minute drive away.
Pros: Skied in Morgins and slept here - 15 minutes, very good value for money. Might be complicated if there is heavy snow since there's a steep road to get to the hotel from the main road. It's really a restaurant (looks very good but did not have the chance to try) and a separate area with 4 confortable bedrooms. The rooms are right next to a little river, there is the noise of the water flowing all day / night, did not disturb me at all. Breakfast is simple but very good. If you need anything else they will cook.
Pros: Excellent friendly staff and superb restaurant.
Pros: Beds were excellent Lovely fresh clean smell Good strong shower Nice communal area Very quiet MOST of the time Easy parking Handy for montriond/morzine/Ardents lift VERY good value for money Superb food in the restaurant Very friendly waitress
Cons: Room a little small Window on to communal space and other on to lower ground courtyard not great but ok No boot room or at least none shown to us Breakfast a little pricey at 8 euros standard and additional supplements for eggs etc but it was good quality. The 5 euro breakfast (as other reviewers have mentioned) is advertised outside but was not offered to us. Noise on final night due to village party being held right above our room which we had not been told about. Karaoke, shouting and laughter was still going on at midnight before we had a morning flight home from Geneva. We went up to ask when it would finish and were told it was the first such event they had held and did not know the impact it would have on the guests’ rooms. We were told it was due to finish at 1am. It did get quieter around 12:30 am. Would have been nice to be warned, even invited to join in as it was a Saturday night so understandable, but we do think consideration of the guests staying in the rooms beneath the event should have been a priority. Checking out on reception the next day the lovely lady was apologetic and asked if we had been made aware in advance. It was an inconvenience and a little stressful however we are sure this is a one off and won’t happen again. We did love our stay and it was amazing value for the area.
Pros: This small family run hotel was the best Accomodation of our 4 week trip in Europe. Arthur, his family and staff were so welcoming and helpful. Arthur even helped us out when we managed to get our car locked in a carpark in Morzine. The continental breakfast (croissants, breads, fruit, yoghurt etc) was served to us on the terrace or in the bar. There is also an on-site restaurant which we didn’t have the opportunity to try. Plenty of locals were at the Bar or restaurant but wasn’t at all noisy in the downstairs bedrooms. The small village of Seytroux is charming and quiet (even with the church bells chiming every hour or more!!) I highly recommend if you are travelling with a car to stay here rather than the busier and more expensive Morzine or Les Gets. We would loved to have stayed longer than 2 nights. Thanks Arthur and your staff.
Cons: Absolutely nothing.
Pros: Super nice staff. Room was soooo clean. Super clean. What a great place!
Pros: Friendly staff, great location. Good value
