It is close to the sea with nice views. The staff are very friendly. The rooms were furnished nicely. Overpriced rooms and dinner. DVD/game selection poor. Cramped bathroom.
Nice place. Easy to find. Plenty of parking. Friendly, helpful staff.
The staff were attentive but not obtrusive and the location is perfect.
it is a well run hotel. a great place to chillax had a wonderful time staff are helpful and friendly, great that there is a gym and sanua. well defo go again.
It was reasonably quiet. It was clean and tidy with a relaxed modern-ish style. Breakfasts were well cooked and the bed was very comfortable. Nice touch a heated towel rail. View was lovely and staff very friendly. I liked it. No there was nothing to dislike apart from it getting a bit hot and stuffy from being in the eaves. The door did rattle when the window was open so I had to wedge some paper in it to stop the noise......but I expect that could easily be put right.
boutique style hotel, very warm atmosphere, great management.
The hotel was clearly of a high standard and the stay was very enjoyable. The meal was fantastic and enjoyed by all, and the staff made every effort to ensure that all requests were met and that the day went without any hitches. N/A
The food was fantastic - both dinner and breakfast. Location on top of cliffs looking over sea was v good. Nice sauna and gym. Very enjoyable stay overall. The bedroom could have been cleaner. Furnishings in the room were a little sparse, althought they did have an LCD TV and a Playstation. They would not let us check in till 4pm event though we arrived at 1.30pm after a very long drive. I am sure a room must have been ready by then as checkout was 10am.
Food was excellent with a relaxed freindly atmosphere.
Comfortable and clean with very friendly service. Good food. decor needs updating
The owners were extremely friendly and obliging. The breakfasts and the bistro food was also excellent. Would definitely stay again.
Comfort and excellent staff and the location of hotel as regards beach and local attractions.
conveience of location
Very friendly and welcoming staff, hotel was perfectly situated for what I wanted to do while I was in Bude, good food (lots of it locally sourced), room was very reasonably priced.
We enjoyed everything about our stay! We didn't want to leave. A lovely b&b and really felt welcome. Will certainly be back in the near future! A very well run family business. A lovely family.
the hotel was centrally located for everything in bude. relaxed atmosphere with easy going staff. room was clean when we arrived but was not cleaned again throughout our stay,.only the bed was made.tea/coffee making facilities was not replenished after first day which was poor as we were there for 4 days.
Superb Location, Perfect Staff and Service which could not be faulted in any way.
The friendliness of all the staff and their commitment to ensuring we enjoyed our stay. nothing was too much trouble.
breakfast, nice location, friendly staff tv in room could be mounted on wall, also no remote control,or sky.recomend power showers be installed.
Beautiful location and exceptionally quiet country retreat. Charming building & excellent service from all the staff. We also enjoyed the tour of the hotel's vegetable garden by the Head Gardener, who is a great credit to this special hotel. The bedroom furnishings and bathroom are starting to look tired in places. The breakfast lacked a "wow" factor. However, neither of these disappointments spoilt a great stay. Thank you to all the team.
The owner was very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Our room overlooked the river. The room price per night could of been a little cheaper.
The host was very gracious and had excellent recommendations for restaurants. A lovely stay.
The room clean and adequately equipped. We dined in the restaurant and the meal was very good in both quality and price. There was an odour of dampness in the corridor leading to the room however this was not noticeable when inside the room
Value for money - very comfortable with good food and real ale and good service
The four poster bed room and jacuzzi in the bathroom
Excellent food, beer and accommodation all in one place! Ideally sited for links to coastal walks. Found nothing to dislike.
Easy to find, good parking, good resturant ie menu range, quality and quantity with reasonable waiting times after placing order. expensive resturant meals and likewise the breakfast costs
Attractive hotel, friendly staff, nice room, lovely food Bed uncomfortable, hard mattress
Ideal country location for exploring North Devon. Generally thought the hotel was overpriced based on the quality of room & hotel facilities. Restaurant was also overpriced with poor service.
Friendly staff and good meals
Food was excellent and staff were very helpful and friendly Due to double booking only one of two superior rooms booked was available.Hotel was apologetic and offered compensation without us having to ask.
the quirky bedroom the cold and unwelcoming main entrance seemed more like a store area/passageway
Ray, the Proprietor was very friendly and welcoming. Our room had evrything that we required and the breakfast and dining facilities were excellent. Our check in time was 4 pm which was a little late for us.
The friendliness of the owners and attention to detail
Lovely place to stay, friendly helpful owner, and lots of "nice" little touches that weren't expected such as being shown the room facilities, toiletries - shower gel / shampoo provided, a good breakfast with plenty of choice and even 2proper" butter on a plate instead of those little foil packets ! This is a lovely place to say but it would benefit from having all of the outdated woodchip wallpaper replaced with something fresher. Apart from that - nothing to fault it :-)
Best place I have stayed in Bude, very friendly welcome and amazing cooked breakfast Nothing
Clean, nicely furnished. Owner friendly and helpful. Close to town centre. Parking isn't ideal. Owner wanted to know when we were checking in what we wanted for breakfast the next morning. We were asked not to be late for breakfast.
The fact that I had found a room of single occupancy Sold as on suite, but shower was not working! Risk Notice to this effect in the room. Street Parking restrictions during the day. No Private parking.
Friendy helpful people and very nice breakfast Excellent from arrival to departure. very friendly people and a lovely room
Friendliness of proprietor, cleanliness of rooms ,excellent breakfast
Although we arrived late, the couple who run this Inn had left our keys with our name on it, which we found, so we had no problem checking in. We had good television options, comfortable room, and breakfast was great. It was an easy drive to Tintagel Castle. The welcome book said there was "free wireless internet" but did not explain how to login, or what the network name was. The following morning, the owner made special assistance to allow me to get online, which meant I had to sit in the garden area with an extension cord to receive adequate signal. I would inquire whether the internet situation has improved. Thanks!
Excellent friendly staff, stunning location but maintained a friendly down to earth welcoming atmosphere as a local pub. N/A
Quaint, quiet, very comfortable, fabulous dinner - duck. It was what we were looking for, we loved everything.
Fabulous location in a unique village. Extremely friendly and very helpful staff. Comfy rooms, ours had a superb harbour view - as requested. Great food.
Relaxed atmosphere combined with stunning location
Location, food (excellent except that duck was a little overcooked). Rattling draughty sash windows (it was a cold windy night - we had to jam some cardboard to stop them rattling). Shower a little cramped, although excellent quality. Reception not manned after 4pm - had to search out barman downstairs to book for dinner. Normal price would have been high for the facilities (only 2 star) - but location is, of course, superb and the booking.com price showed a considerable saving.
Overall this hotel and its staff were excellent from the location and tranquillity to the food and service including bar staff a very welcoming place to stay will definately book again.Thank you N/A
Peaceful location, good room with excellent bathroom. Friendly, helpful staff. Would have been good to have some good quality bread at breakfast, no sign of any brown bread or even better brown baker style bread.
The staff were all very helpful and welcoming and the hotel was lovely. Our room was very clean and comfortable and their was an excellent full english breakfast in the morning. The restaurant was very nice and serverd wonderful Italian food. I would definitely go again.
Ambiance, excellent caring staff, superb service, excellent resturant. Room wonderfully presented. As good or possibly better than 4* hotels I have used for work. Cant think of any
The hotel is very conveniently situated for the moors and within 15 minutes walk from the Lydford Gorge. The room was a good size, clean and very modern. The attached Italian restaurant is excellent. none
Hotel is very traditional, with an unexpectedly good Italian chef and restaurant. Some of the paintwork in the public areas is a bit tired.
No bar but you could get a drink at any time even when arriving back at the hotel after midnight :-)
It is a beautyful hotel with very friendly stuff. The dartmoor country side over the street is fantastic. We had a great stay.
Excellent room and friendly staff. Evening meal was very good. None, except some noisy children
Dog friendly, excellent location, good quality restaurant.
The staff were friendly, attentive and made us feel welcome. The food served in the restaurant was of a high standard, and well presented.
everyone was very friendly it was warm and clean our room was very small and the bathroom was the smallest i have ever seen with nowwhere to put anything if it was light and you wanted the curtains open you had to get dressed in the bathroom as the room was very exposed as far as privacy was concerned, so if you had a shower your clothes would have to be put onto the floor and then there was nowhere to get out of the shower as the shower was to small to dry yourself
The attentive staff, cleanliness of the accommodation, the lovely food, and that fantastic location so close to the beach.
The staff are all very friendly and welcoming. The food is excellent. No
location , food and bar, good parking and comfortable friendly atmosphere
Great location, nice clean rooms and the staff were very friendly.
Friendliness of the staff
Close to town and beach Shower a little small
The hotel staff were all very pleasant, polite and happy.
The staff were always polite, cheerful and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean and all the meals were very good.
The staff were very friendly and treated me like an individual
Good breakfast. No.
The friendliness of the staff, ambience of the inn & good food. Just what we wanted for the weekend break.
Super Inn tostay at when you have friends in the area or wish to visit area in general
convenient location - extremely nice staff mattress was too soft
The warmth, the staff, the meals, the rooms and the history of the inn nothing,A1
Everything was clean and tidy, the welcome from the staff on our arrival was warm and genial, we had the best room at the inn and though it overlooked the main road there was little traffic noise to disturb our sleep. Bed was very comfortable and the food very good value.
we found the staff welcoming, the food was excellent great location and easy to find. The rooms were tastfully decorated within keeping of the Inn. We couldnt of wished for a better hotel. We booked for the one night and the following week we were glad we had chosen this hotel.
My Wife andI was very impressed with everything
Evening meal was very good value, and huge portions The Music in the Bar was rather loud and went on to 1am in the morning. This could not be heard in all rooms, but certinally in one of ours.
The breakfast was great and so was the service
closeness to the sea
The location is good as a base to visit north Devon. The estuary super room that we stayed in was spacious .The breakfast was very generous. The staff were vry helpful. Free wi-fi was an unexpected surprise. I would have rated comfort as excellent if the bed did not creak!
The closeness to the venue we visited. The view from our room. The size of food portions at breakfast. A squeaky bed! Rather small bath towels for an superior room. The rainforest shower was fixed and difficult for tall people to use. The bathroom had had a revamp so that the new tiles on one side of the bath meant that it was impossible to hold the grab rail that side to get in or out of the bath. There wasn't much of the bathside surface available to use either. In the restaurant the service was unusually quick so that the porridge I ordered had been on the table less than two minutes before the cooked breakfast arrived.
The hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff were helpful and friendly, our room was decorated to a high standard. The bar meals were very good value. We had a suite with a jacuzzi bath, the room was lovely however there were problems with having sufficient hot water for the bath and the shower. When we complained after the first night we were moved to an adjacent, smaller, suite which was fine. However in this second suite the jacuzzi bath was in the bathroom and there was no separate shower which was inconvenient. Another problem with the first room is that there was a constant background noise which we were not able to identify but did get quite irritating. We did mention this to the reception staff.
Location to business associates in Bideford Room 145 - Bed was awful. No top filling left in mattress - solid springs for an uncomfortable nights sleep. Unfortunate, but we would not be booking this hotel again unless assured that a comfortable bed is given. Their loss and we have dealings with company in Bideford.
Basic and very busy good service in the bar and resturant Not enough coffee and milk for two people. Book in time seemed very late Too busy to give proper attention to the guests
Food poor, under staffed, bed uncomfortable, shower useless, outside like a rag and bone yard
all of it nothing
location The bathroom: no plug in the bath tub, water either scolding or ice cold Bed room lights: only lamps, no main lightening in room. Bed: very hard an uncomforatble The staff were very unfriendly, we felt this was due to our age (21). Also the Television was not tuned in. For £40 per person per night, equalling 80, we felt we were let down. We stayed in a country house for £75 with four poster bed, flat screen television, excelent food and very friendly staff.
Food was good with exception of the room service evening meal for which they apologised - certainly not a major problem Breakfast in particular was good work is in progress at the back(our room faced back)and we were awoken by the builders both days(Sat and Sun) at 7.15 - not what you want when you want a relaxing weekend away. A minor thing - they had no local telephone directories for non business numbers.
The location is fantastic, right next to the beach yet close to town centre shops & restaurants. The Deluxe room we stayed in was lovely; very spacious, comfortable, clean and well designed. The bathroom is one of the best I've ever had - even compared to five star hotels and the staff are attentive and considerate. Very peaceful and relaxing place to stay and we will definitely return. There is absolutely nothing I didn't like about The Beach at Bude itsself - it's just the lack any decent restaurants in the town. There only seem to be Bistros and Cafes and whilst these are ok, I would prefer a good restaurant to eat in; especially during a celebration weekend.
Staff were friendly, food excellent, room comfortable
Walking It was a bit distant rom the nearest civilisation. Resulting in having to drive everywhere.
Peaceful, friendly staff, good breakfast Room a little on the small side, bar and breakfast area a little spartan
We were made welcome from the start, especially our dog. Nothing was too much trouble.
Friendly and helpful staff Nothing
The room smelled musty/damp. There was a strong smell of cigarettes in both reception and the breakfast room. I think the staff smoke.
Outstanding! Accommodation was first rate, hospitality of owners was exceptional. The breakfast was the best we've had in England. The room was clean, comfortable and very pleasant.
This was our second stay at Fairway. The room was spacious, clean and plenty of hot water for the shower. The staff were friendly and helpful.A good breakfast was provided each morning.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff, very good value for money and a lovely breakfast!
nice room with a lovely view, nice service and a good breakfast
the location, excellant breakfast, clean and tidy. does what it says on the tin!!
cleanliness of room and peaceful location room location up two flights of stairs
Frendly atmosphere, good food & good allround service. Hard pillows on beds.
The food was excellent both at breakfast time and in the evening. The location was stunning especially as there was bright sunshine one minute and a storm the next! The faiground in the carpark opposite the hotel
Location and view from room Size of bed - too small - Kitchen out of action for 1 dinner and breakfast.
Perfectly adequate room. Clean. Slightly shabby. Comfortable bed. No-one had turned the radiator on but the room warmed quickly once I did so. Plenty of hot water. Exceptionally fine restaurant.
made to feel welcome and it was homely. Good food and courteous, friendly service. Lack of room service.
Fantastic menu and even better breakfast
The hotel was clean and tidy, near the beach and town. Staff were open and friendly.
