Location for my purpose efficient lady in managerial position who dealt with my problems at check-out Allocated the wrong class room; filthy room with inadequate servicing; the only way to contact housekeeping was a long traipse over to the clubhouse; noise levels unnacceptable; poor ventilation during hot spell; king size quilt on double bed; marketing shots totally misleading - the venue was nothing like expectations; no fresh fruit at breakfast - no healthy options
Avaiability of a room on the specific night required, reasonably close to the site where working As a Golf Club the early morning sounds of keen players at &.30 on Sunday morning was a little early
The Restaurant Manager was able to sort out the problems that I encountered I has specifically asked if the hotel had a restaurant for evening meals. I was told that it did.. When I arrived I was given a menu which was more of a Bar Snacks listing than a hotel restuarant menue. Only 1 course was on offer. The Chef confirmed that there was nothing else available.
Double bed in a superior room was only 4 feet wide.
the room was clean and tidy 1) they do not allow you to use your room number to add to the bill in the restaurant and bar. 2) they have no credit card facility at the bar or restaurant. You have to get reciept from bar go to reception which is in the Golf shop pay by card there collect both reciepts and then go back to the bar and hand one of them back to the staff at the bar. 3) After 10pm you can not use credit card because the Golf shop closes so no reception available.
Great value None to report except grounds signage could be better
Nothing stood out Staff support seemed to be a bit behind the needs of the guests, not for lack of effort but what they were allowed to do and how they had to operate
Cranfield conference centre had a water leak so we had to move reservations at last minute. The rooms were well kept and refurbished to a good standard but the shared areas, corridors, and gardens and grounds of the hotel annex were looking dated and tired. Breakfast and service in main clubhouse in the morning were good. Overall, fair value for money.
The breakfast was a 10/10 night staff on reception left us waiting for entry into the hotel, until he had finished a phone call. Barman ignored us when we tried to order food and drinks and served a customer who had obviously been in the bar all night giving tips to the staff! Night staff were very poor to say the least!
Location, excellent breakfast buffet, good food in evening offerings Unable to call internationally and night staff had no clue about solving situation.
Needs to be updated but overall ok, great location Old needs updating
A very pleasent wedding reception Vegetables with main course, all of them, except roast potatoes, were very undercooked.
great location, quiet rooms, polite staff, great decor
the location for the town etc plus riverside walks the pool was too small and too deep and jacuzzi did't work, so no spa and no relax
Clean room, comfortable bed, friendly staff. no, but I was surprised at the lack of minibar in the room
Everything That the rooms were modern when the rest of hotel was boutique.
The view over the river overlooking the rowing club.
Recognised as a frequent visitor. Given choice of room. Breakfast coffee is grim.
Central location on riverfront, very traditional long established local hotel, clean and comfortable . Quirky. Nice breakfast. Rooms on small side , but comfortable .
Comfortable and Spacious Room. Helpful and polite staff. Plus, the location by the river.
Was on a Conference
The hotel bed was the most comfortable bed of any hotel we have stayed in recently.Although we arrived quite late in the evening the reception staff were very welcoming. This was our second stay at this hotel.
It's less than 15 minutes walk to Luton Airport The bed in the first room they gave me apparently hadn't been changed from the last occupant since it contained several long black hairs. I asked for a different room and was given one, but this changeover ate into the five hours sleep I was already limited to and should not have been necessary.
the bed was really comfortable none
Friendly staff at the reception. Within 10 minutes' walk from the Luton airport. We sat at the hotel restaurant table for 20 minutes without even being noticed by the staff. And oh yes, we tried everything except shouting. They just walked on by, so we left to dine elsewhere. The Internet tv image resolution was lousy and the tv channels did not show properly (antenna or cable defect?)
The location from the airport, very convienient. Ideal for a business person or a family looking for a one night stay. Staff very friendly and efficient There are no complaints
Location for airport. Good bar and restaurant area unusual for an Ibis. Usual Ibis cleanliness.. Watch out for the pricing policy. The published rate is a fiction. Always book in advance to fix the rate.
No obvious directions from the airport terminal to Ibis Hotel for guests not arriving by car. There is a regular bus service (stop en route to Parkway) but it isn't well promoted.
We arrived late and the staff were welcoming, friendly and gave an excellent service. Location very good. 24-hour bar a great asset. Room was much too small, very clostrophobic. We stayed in room nbr 106 (ground floor), window faced the car park and we had no privacy - only if the curtains were drawn. Curtains were damaged and did not close properly. Price of gbp 79 far too high for these standards.
Room was comfortable, cosy and very clean. Lobby/bar area was cold, was freezing outside but maybe heating could've been turned up.
Restaurant staff seem to be bothered by our presence and not too will to see if we required service at all or not
perfect location for very early flight next morning
Nothing The room was very small The shower was very small Nothing was good about this place
Excellent location by the airport, nice and professional personnel, professional services, clean
nice having a bar, free breakfrast buffet, coffee and tea started at 430am. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Excellent location close to airport. Very quiet and comfortable room with good shower. Complimentary breakfast was fine with good quality ingredients .On a freezing cold weekend, the hotel was very warm and cosy. Whilst dinner was of acceptable quality, the menu was perhaps overpriced because of the captive market. I do resent paying £5.90 for a glass of not very good wine.
Convenience. Restaurant good for what it does. Order off the specials board. Very well sound-proofed.
Ran out of things at breakfast time
closeness to airport, clean, efficient room no warning that there would be a charge for parking the car overnight check in staff short on charm!
Hotel is very near to airport and i was satying to pick up some friend of mine and it became very easy for me .
the attention given by check-in staff and the comfort of the rooms, good food none
Location location location Nothing bad
For a stately home it had a homely atmosphere.

The buildings and grounds are superb, the spa is very good but most importantly the staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly Anthony at concierge.
There was insufficient lighting in the bathroom and bedroom to make up. Please please allow pets!
The hotel itself is grand and beautiful with lots of character. The staff were very friendly, the room was comfortable and the food was delicious. We loved pre dinner drinks and the atmosphere in the lounge with the fire burning. The swimming pool and sauna and steam room were great. The jacuzzi had the most powerful jets and we thoroughly enjoyed being the only guests that afternoon as they only just opened the pool. The walk around the hotel is lovely with the secret garden making it more attractive.
Luton Hoo is a superb hotel The staff are excellent and very professional the buildings impressive and the dining rooms spectacular .. we did not play golf but we did think the course looked very boring ...the spa was wonderful and the rooms very comfortable and extremely spacious We had a room in the coach house [ an ungrade not asked for but offered ! ] It was above the pro shop of the golf course and very noisy [ beware ]
- Pet friendly - Beautiful building with beautiful rooms and beautiful gardens - The kitchen is just regular - We had to queue for the breakfast because the room is too small - We had to reserve even for the 5 o clock tea hours in advance
Every aspect was ideal for the peaceful, luxurious and celebratory stay for which we were looking. The management of the restaurant seemed to leave something to be desired. Whilst the staff were pleasant, helpful and courteous, many of them appeared to be wandering around aimlessly as if they did not know what they were supposed to be doing. Further, there must surely be something to be said for guests to be allocated tables for the duration of their stay, rather that allocated haphazardly at each meal.
i booked for my 21st wedding anniversary as a surprise for my wife. The entire weekend was absolutely brilliant, outstanding historic building, great facilities, wonderful staff, fab food, we enjoyed the spa too. We will recommend to freinds and return without doubt. no
The restaurant in the hotel, The Wernher, was superb. The food was totally excellent. Worth every penny! The service was very good too. The hotel itself is beautiful , inside and outside. The grounds are lovely. When i booked, i was given the impression that the room would have views of the grounds,as that was part of the room description. But we were given a room that was far away from the grounds and below the ground floor. But the room itself was gorgeous.
Hotel was Luxurious, Staff friendly and Spa facility amazing, would Highly recommend. No, all good
The price for bed & breakfast for a room for 2 people was very good. The bed was very comfortable It needs a bit of TLC to improve the carpets, paintwork etc
The staff I met were very professional and friendly. The hotel is spacious and good value for money. It needs a lot of minor refurbishment and drainage needs upgrading - noisy maceerator
Leaving Inefficient staff, poor cleanliness of crockery, poor quality of food
Friendly staff. Good value for money. Relaxed atmosphere. Hotel bar/lounge in process of being redecorated. Beautiful victorian building. Lovely gardens to enjoy in summer. Room decor could be better. For example, exposed wires running along ceiling to smoke alarm. Peeling paper. Curtain hooks missing. Poor reception on tv.
the room need a good clean there was no plug in the sink to much furnture in room chaos at breakfast
Hardly relevant, I did no more than sleep there! Breakfast start time of 8am was too late for the time I needed to leave - hence no breakfast.
friendly staff and easy to find public parking means on street parking cold noisy
good evening meal poor breakfast
comfy bed! Very tired tatty hotel £30 a night was enough to pay. Poor parking facilities and if car not removed from road by 0900 parking ticket
Cheap, nice staff but poor quality accommodation Very cold room, dirty broken furniture and "dodgy" wiring.
friendly staff, room cleaned OK. Toilet seat needs renewing. Not nice. Otherwise, room good.
The attitude of the staff was excellent and the manager quite exceptional.
The room was clean and comfortable.
the staff were courteous and we were made to feel very welcome nothing
The receptionist, Linda, was very welcoming. She took me to the bar, rather than giving me directions. She was most helpful with any queries. N/A
Room and surrounding areas are excellent even during their upgrade process. Ease of parking. Friendly staff. Drinks are reasonably priced. The breakfast was definitely not up to the expected standard, lacked freshness, and seemed to consist of what was left rather than being freshly cooked. This experience was repeated on on both days.
the shower had no water pressure and when we asked why we were told that the room had been refurbed and they were having trouble with the pressure. If this was the case, why were we given that room to start with?
The food was very nice and well presented. Room were large by British standards. We enjoyed the bar and Boddingtons on tap.
The hotel was very nice, room was comfortable The price of drinks(£9.00)sothern com and lemenade taken to room The price of breakfest to room(toast, orange and tea-£17.00!!!!!)
It was a little tired and tatty and I would not have paid the full £100 per night for the room we had (at half price as it was Friday night it was OK). The welcome was luke warm.
It had a sense of class about it.
Courteous staff, evening meral in the Hotel was excellent, overall , enjoyed my stay and will return Room layout was a bit confusing, but this has to do with the building layout
Everything was good
Pleasant staff and old world character of the building. Lack of service for residents due to functions being held at the hotel
Cosy bar/lobby area where you can eat as well. In general this is a nice hotel. Its looks a bit old but that because it is and part of the charm. The rooms are good though and the hotel has a relaxed pleasant overall atmosphere. The room price is really out of range for this kind of hotel. Its nice but in the rest of europe it would classify as a mid range hotel (not more then 100 euro a night).
Very helpfull and friendly staff ideal location for our visit to family and friends 2nd visit this year. more expensive on second visit breakfast not included.
The fact that the room was booked with the breakfast included was brilliant as the price of the breakfast on top of the room would have been very expensive
First time I've been inside the Old Palace Lodge despite growing-up in the town; not disappointed - lovely hotel and a very plush room. A nice treat for my 40th birthday weekend! Bit of noise from other guests in the early hours, but not enough to spoil our stay.
Staff were nice, nothing too much trouble. Drinks were a bit expensive
The room was very clean and tidy. The staff were very welcoming and always there to help. The was a large choice for breakfasts and very good portions.Altogether a welcome stay. The 24hr room service at the weekend has room for improvement.Although they guarantee small snacks they varied with the staff that were on shift. The sandwiches one night were very good. The next night they were very poor. This was about the only problems we encountered.
Engaged staff. Very little on-site parking.
Comfortable room. Lack of on-site parking, you have to use the public car park across the road.
Good value, well positioned for getting around. Comfy beds, great shower.
The staff were helpful, and the room was very clean and well-equipped. It was convenient for my business meeting. Lack of sufficient on-site parking. Having to pay extra for Wi-Fi.
Pleasant room Food was bland and lacking in quality and imgination - and is real issue in choosing whether to use this hotel again
Very helpful female cleaning operative Paying for parking for nights there.Hotel allowing escort ladies into premises
Comfortable clean rooms
Nice clean new hotel Didn't like disabled bathroom - no bath! Also, lighting in bedroom was awful - does anyone try putting make-up on when designing these things?
No on parking facilities
New hotel - so room was clean, equipment was modern and worked well. New hotel - no adequate payment facilities, lift broke down (we were on the fourth floor), not all of the menu was available.
Free WIFI connections - excellent signal throughout the hotel
Accommadation was good, especially as there was a bath. We couldn't find the hotel,it was poorly signposted, no indication that it was a hotel, and we spent about half an hour driving around to try and find the hotel part of the complex.
Nice place, equipment and service. No direction signs out and insite at all !
We stayed in a very clean, spacious room with a large comfortable bed. The hotel had a good choice of breakfast menu. Directions to the hotel on the Wyboston site could be clearer. Difficult to locate hotel at night.
Comfortable rooms. On-line you do not have guest reviews.
The food in the Brasserie was the best food we have eaten out in 20 years and we eat out a lot. Outward appearance and approach to Hotel was disappointing.
Room was very spacious and comfy and staff very welcoming and polite. Restaurant overlooked the lake and food was delicious and good value. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Shower was a little tempremental at times
The executive suites were clean Very poor value for money, small rooms
was able to stay on site whilst attending a wedding. I found the room quite expensive
Express by Holiday Inn always have large well rooms with good bath/shower rooms Breakfast coffee was poor for price of hotel. The arrangements for collecting breakfast were crowded and cramped. The hotel parking was in fact in a supermarket car park and had to be vacated at 10am
I like the service which was provided was very good. Just the general hotel was the best of my stay there was not anythink i disalike about the hotel
i had to be transferred to a new room because of a very strange smell !
The Hotel and room was sufficient for my needs as a visitor to Stevenage for business purposes Did not have onsite parking but it's not really an issue as a local car park was 100m away
Bar open late and friendly staff No shower gel ,reception could not supply an iron and iorning board so made us very late for party, breakfast was very limited with no cutlery only small plates , slow toasters and dirty micro wave
checking out reception staff not aware of my booking, no iron/ironing board available
The window in our smoking room couldn´t be opened
comfortable - friendly staff
I stayed in room 403; however, there was noise from an air handling unit/compressor on the roof above my room which was not acceptable.
Lovely new and clean hotel, friendly porofessional staff and a very comfortable night. The restuarant is large and rather lacks atmosphere. £9.50 extra per person for breakfast a bit expensive so we gave it a miss.
Very nice room with upmarket fittings. Paper thin walls between rooms. You could hear everything going on. Very poor breakfast that doesn't do justice to the Hilton brand. Surprisingly the breakfast was no better in quality over a premier Inn. Premier Inn comes out on top in terms of quietness. Their doors don't slam.
Nicely decorated reception area and room. The location isn't great for central Luton.
Clean. New. No bar facilities in room. No bar late for customers. Cold reception. Staff foregin and not very warm on arrival. Food awful
the cleanliness of the room and facilities in general was quite impressive the shower was faulty in my room, sort it out guys! it's an unnecessary blip on your otherwise unblemished record
chack in took too long
Lovely room, excellent value for money
so the bed was very comfortable as was the room in general the view from the room wasn't fantastic but thats a stretch to find something wrong to say
Hotel staff very friendly, room very clean and comfortable
For the £65 I paid I wasn't expecting one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in and I include in this list some prestigious 4 and 5 star hotels and lodges. The room was large, well appointed, the bed supremely comfortable, the shower large and like standing under Niagara Falls and the free internet access and widescreen tv were an added bonus. We stayed in the hotel for dinner and were very impressed with the quality and value. Breakfast at £9.95 was also excellent. I cannot fault any aspect of this place and would highly recommend it to anyone. Let's hope that once the smell of fresh paint subsides the staff are equally enthusiastic.
the perfect comfort of beds, the cleanliness of the room and bath, the restaurant and its prices No bus to and from the Luton airport. Distance to Luton Airport; although on websites it says the hotel is pretty close to the airport, actually it is not that close.
The hotel was simply brilliant. The staff was friendly, the breakfast was good and the rooms were very clean. We had a magnificent stay.
Beautiful rooms and great staff. When we complained about the noise in our room they moved us straight away. Can be very noisy in certain rooms if there is a wedding taking place
Efforts by staff to correct glitches which occurred with my room.... the central heating, the telephone, the missing blinds in the shower room The cold. Coming from HK where it is warm compared to the UK I did suffer. However Offley place and staff are unable to control the climate
The staff were helpful, the location was very attractive, the room was excellent except for heating, and the food was good both for Dinner and breakfast. The central heating did not work well and we had to have two electric heaters.
Beautiful hotel and attentive staff. Did not get the opportunity to try the restaurant this time but we will be back and will try it next time. Although all of the confirmation details on the booking e-mail were for the correct date, when we arrived the hotel system indicated that we should have been there the previous night. The hotel resolved the issue, luckily they were not full.
The staff were incredibly polite but not too formal, really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The room was large and airy and the grounds beautiful. I didn't mind but perhaps it could do with a lift?
Excellent room, spacious and beautifully furnished. Did not take evening meal but breakfast very good.
The Hotel has avery clam & peaceful ambience and the food is excellent. Very helpful staff from reception to waiting. There are none.
Spacious rooms, calm quiet location. Excellent staff, excellent restaurant. No leaflets about local attractions
It was the most excellent hotel I've visited in all my life. It has a frindly staff and helpful, every thing was arengment. I felt as if I'm not in hotel, I felt I'm in historical palace. So, I'm coming to stay in this hotel soon. To be honest, I like everything.
The ambience Room a little small.Carpet stained and needed cleaning.
The ambience, location in private grounds and the old-fashioned building and antiques, pleasant room and a lovely log fire in reception.
friendly staff, excellent attention and lovely food the mattress on the bed was uncomfortably soft
Everything was perfect. Bit pricey for drinks but what hotel isn't these days (the bottle of rose wine was amazing though).
Great service and location would of liked to stay longer
The staff were extremely courteous and the food was very good. Would have liked tea-making facilities in the room, although tea and coffee were available on request.
Very comfortable beds and rooms. Roaring fire in the lobby and lovely countryside views from the bedrooms. Didn't use the restaurant in the evening but the breakfast was outstanding. All staff were very helpful and pleasant. Wasn't thrilled that Room 5 had a fire exit going right between the bedroom and bathroom and only had a small shower instead of a bath. Although I know it would have been unlikely for a fire to have occurred, it left me a little uneasy that someone could stumble through my room by accident! Luckily, Room 3 did have a bath, but had I not been staying with a relative, I would have found the bathroom in Room 5 lacking, especially as the bedroom itself is so large and luxurious. These few niggles didn't detract too much from a generally very pleasant stay.
Lovely room, excellent dinner and breakfast, very helpful staff Access into shower cubicle was very limited - I'm not big and it was a squeeze for me!
Fantastic room, friendly staff lovely food. Would highly recommend.
very helpful staff, relaxing atmosphre, good food bedroom lighting too subdued
