Cons: Clean and very pretty. Great hosts
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent for an early ferry crossing the following morning. The owners were both very amenable and we were offered a hot drink upon arrival. We also chose this B&B because it has a parking space bang outside the front door. We had the choice of a double bed plus a single bed which was unusual. We chose not to stay for breakfast although I’m sure it would have been very good. We will certainly return here as we travel to Europe at least x3 times each year.
Cons: Climbing two flights of stairs! Our shower was very small.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: A little gem recommended to us by friends in the village. Room extremely comfortable. Breakfast great. Hosts very welcoming
Cons: Our room felt rather cold when we first arrived.
6.7 Good
Pros: The bedroom had some features of wooden beams which were pleasing and the bed was comfortable. The bar and breakfast area was also pleasant.
Cons: We had driven from the north to the south of England and we arrived at the Oast B&B at 9.30 pm. It was pointed out to us, not once but twice, that we arrived past the B&B owners' deadline of 8 pm. Sure enough, it was written on the booking and we apologised, twice. A locked parking area had been promised to us but this was unavailable due to our "late" arrival. Feeling reprimanded, we retreated to our room in the hope of some TV relaxation but a small (14"?) wall-mounted TV is not comfortable viewing from the bed against the opposite wall. It needs to be at least a 30" screen. Even the shower provided weak comfort because electric showers produce low flow rates. The window was small with a pleasant but not remarkable view. Breakfast was OK but not nearly as splendid as the one we had two mornings later in a Burgundy B&B (where we arrived at 10.30 pm and were given the very best hospitality). In Kent, it was raining the following morning so after the checkout deadline of 10 am, we asked if we could sit quietly and work in the bar area. However, we were asked to leave after a while due to the imminent arrival of cleaners. So I'm sorry to say that we disagree with comments by others about great hospitality. Perhaps if we had noticed the 8 pm deadline or phoned in advance, all would have been different. However, given that we are busy professional people who have travelled the world and stayed in hundreds of hotels/B&Bs (and we ourselves rent accommodation), we have a certain understanding of what it takes to make a successful hospitality business, and making customers feel unwelcome is not really a winner.
7.5 Good
Cons: Early morning traffic noise
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This place is delightful and full of character. Our hosts, Carl & Michelle were friendly and helpful. We loved the atmosphere in the bar in the evening and, although the meal menu is limited, what we had was excellent and very good value for money.
Cons: Nothing!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is perfect in proximity of Dover, only 15 min away. The B&B is a lovely, quirky old farmhouse with a welcoming and cosy feeling. The decor is as you would expect of a country styled home, and the room was comfy and the vaulted ceiling amazing with character and the bathroom was modern and stylish. Carl & Michelle are your hosts and very accomodating in anything you need and Carl make a meal full English in the morning. If I remember right; their bacon, sausage and mushrooms is sourced right there on their working farm and it tastes like it! Lovely. I would recommend a stay there if only to be in Dover or to catch the ferry but to also have a country styled, comfy home feeling at The Oast. This is a multifuntioning business they have with Antiques, farming & B&B which Carl & Michelle have made their 'Escape to the Country' dream come true and are doing a very good job at it!
Cons: When pulling in the drive we were a little surprised by some of the general debris around the place, I would expect for a business that maybe things like that would be behind a fence and not on display. We understand it is a working business; as we too have our own home business and we too have a few work materials laying around our house but try to keep it out of sight where/when possible. The only other things were in the room was: 1) too small of a television that was too high up on the wall to look up and I was surprised that there were earplugs on the bedstands but it made sense that since there is a small pub downstairs there could be noises from below, though luckily we stayed there on a quiet Sunday night. Other than those couple of things it's a good place to stop over.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very special with sausages and bacon from animals raised on the farm. The hospitality we received was exceptionally warm.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely welcome, very helpful, very comfortable stay lovely breakfast

Centrally located within easy walking distance of the seafront, town and old town. Would definitely stay again! Thanks Costas and the team.

We bought bed and breakfast but were told breakfast was from 9am but we had to leave at 7.30. They said they’d put out some pastries for us but they never materialised.

Pros: Excellent dinner at bargain price. Scallop starter was perfect. We asked for the music to be turned down in the dining room and this was readily done. Location great and convenient for Channel Tunnel.
Cons: The decor in the dining room was rather dark and oppressive, but the meal made up for it.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was poorly presented, and not too warm, the male member of staff hovering at the doorway was off putting
Cons: A warning as to how small the room and bathroom would be. We were only staying overnight to catch the channel tunnel in the morning, next time I will choose a Premier Inn or Travelodge. We chose this hotel because we thought it would be better........it wasn't.

9.0 Excellent (349 reviews)
Overview Reviews
The Norman Guest House is a friendly, family-run Victorian bed and breakfast opposite Dover Priory Train Station. It offers free parking and free Wi-Fi. The Norman is a short walk from town centre and a 5-minute drive from the ferry terminal and cruise ships. A full English breakfast is served every morning.
7.1 Good
Pros: Shower was good.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We were greeted at the door and welcomed. The entire B&B was very clean throughout, tastefully decorated, charming, and very close to the Dover Priory RR station. There were several nearby restaurants. Our bed was very comfortable and we slept well there. The dining area was very nice and the food was great! The hosts were very accommodating. We were catching a cruise on our last morning and they advised us we needed to arrange for a taxi to the dock well in advance, which they kindly arranged for us. They had brochures and maps available for guests to plan activities.
Cons: We're from the USA where a B&B means a room with breakfast included. That is not the case there, and perhaps is not the case in UK B&Bs. They charged £7.50 per person for breakfast at the time of our visit, so just be advised. However, the dining area and food were excellent and well worth that price. Our en suite room (private bathroom) was on the 3rd floor, no elevator, and involved about 46 steps on a sometimes curving stairway. This was challenging for us due to heavy luggage and bad knees. It would work fine for those in good physical condition who travel light. There was a second floor room with a shared bathroom, and you needed to go to the 3rd floor for a shower. For many this would not be an issue at all, but I mention it for the sake of those who would have difficulties with this arrangement. My suggestion would be to contact the owner beforehand to have a clear understanding of your room/bathroom situation to avoid surprises.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners are so friendly and welcoming, even when we arrived just before midnight. Our room was small but practical and very clean. It‘s not particulary quiet, the walls seem to be a little on the thin side and there are train tracks next to the house. But as we‘re sleeping with earplugs anyway, it didn‘t really bother us. We‘ll come back everytime when travelling to the UK by ferry (it‘s just a few minutes from the ferry port, which is another benefit)
9.6 Excellent
Cons: 3 flights of stairs
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The house was very nice set up, clean and staff were very helpful.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and warm hosts, they really made me feel at home! The bed was very good, breakfast was excellent, what else can you wish for. There is a railway next to the house, but fortunately no trains at night and for early sleepers there's always earplugs!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We asked for a quiet room and we were given a room at the top of the house and at the back, which was great for us. The hosts were very friendly and helpful.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful owners. That’s why we stayed here again. Breakfast is good. Hotel is clean. Location is perfect. Easy to walk in to town. Close to the ferry. Free parking in front of hotel. Easy to find. Good price for the room and breakfast.
Cons: The shower could be bit better. Getting warm and cold. Personally don’t like shower in the bath. But that depends on which room you’ve got. There are more showers.
8.0 Excellent
