8.3 Excellent
Pros: Room was unexpectedly modern, it was spacious and clean with comfortable bed. Sea view from the room was fabulous. Room layout was fantastic with bath-shower, toilet and wash basin in three seperate compartments which was most hygienic and convenient for use. Japanese style breakfast was nice too.
Cons: Hotspring facilities needed refurbishment. Restaurant food for dinner was disappointing. Open hotspring was not warm enough. Indoor hotspring pool was slippery and did not look clean. Location far away from town.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is what I like to think of as a typical Taisho Roman era resort hotel. Equipped with plush carpets and antique furniture of the kind first copied from the west and adapted for Japanese sensibilities. These hotels unfortunately are becoming few and far between due to the more modern amenities in the newer hotels. This one, showing slight signs of age, is particularly well looked after, filled with curious brick-a-brack, it’s own souvenir shop and located right on the coast with the sea lapping at the rocks under my window. Very spacious room with huge window. Younger staff and everyone very helpful and guests taken personally to their room. Highly recommended for a feeling of what life was like in the so-called affluent bubble era.
Cons: I wish I could have stayed there longer!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Big room, big balcony, nice view....
Cons: Only Japanese style breakfast...
