Pros: Cosy retreat on a paradise island. The owner went out of her way to ensure we had a magical stay. It gave us a wonderful insight into Japanese rural living. Sliding doors, heated mats and toilet seats. The breakfast was superb. Sliced banana, sushi rice and a wonderful miso soup with the chives and veggies home grown in her garden, and all washed down with a cup of refreshing Japanese green tea. For those with a nostalgia for a Euro style brekky there was even a piece of toast and jam. As an insight into her helpful nature, she even got up at 5:30 in the morning just to drive us to Mass. It was typical of everyone that we met on Wakamatsu Island.
Cons: Having to leave.
