Cons: I had been staying at a luxury double bed room over 5 times and it was to my surprise that the room I booked is such a tiny room eventhough I had added Yen2600 to exchange to a bigger room. At the end I have to pay extra Yen8000 to upgrade to the room type I stayed before which is something I did not expect. I once paid HK$780 (approx) for the luxury double bed but for the current stay, I paid double!
Pros: Good service
Cons: Small rooms
Pros: Location: a couple of blocks from train station, many restaurants around. Nice, sizeable room. Free internet. Modern, very clean, quiet rooms. Helpful staff.
Cons: Getting to the hotel from the airport is best done by taxi if you have big bags -- there's no escalator at the subway stop. Lobby restaurant is expensive and selection is not all that interesting -- but you can walk to several good eating places in and around the station.

Pros: Close to canal city it is a good place to stay to visit hakata by foot.
Cons: Lack of choices for breakfast
Pros: The hotel is very centrally located to shopping, restaurants and bars as well as the subway line and buses. The staff were friendly enough and the breakfast is good.
Cons: I arrived with an early morning flight after flying all night and arrived at the hotel by 10am. I was advised that official check in wasn't until 2pm and I would have to wait until this time. I found this somewhat strange considering most North American hotels will allow you to check in if they have a room ready. Even if they didn't immediately have a room ready, they usually make an effort to get you into a room as soon as one is cleaned and ready. I sat patiently in the lobby for the next two hours and then made another attempt at noon to see if any rooms had been cleaned and were ready to be moved into. The front desk's English was very poor so it was difficult to communicate but they again told me that check in wasn't until 2pm. I tried to reason with them that surely some of the rooms must have been cleaned by this point and but was told again that check in would only take place at 2pm. I was told that if I wanted to check in earlier, I would need to pay 3500 Yen for the "overtime". I couldn't quite understand what overtime would be involved since they had to clean my room regardless -- it was just a case of what order they were going to clean it compared to other rooms. I refused to pay this fee and returned to sit on the sofa in the lobby for another two hours. Finally at 2pm I was permitted to check in. I got up to my room only to discover that it was a smoking room (yes, there is still such a thing!). I called down to the desk and explained that I had been assigned a smoking room but wasn't a smoker (interestingly, the kayak site that I booked the hotel on didn't ask for a smoking preference). I was told that there were no non-smoking rooms available (despite me presumably being the first person to check in today!) and that they would send someone up to get rid of the smoke smell. Unfortunately we know how that goes... they attempted to get the smoke smell out but it didn't make much difference. Even thought I was only there for one night, my clothes and luggage still came away smelling like smoke. Hardly an enjoyable experience for the price paid!
Pros: The room was contemporary and clean. The best thing about this hotel is the location right near a subway station and across the canal from two parks and the symphony hall building, which is a great attraction alone because of its green-covered pyramid that you can climb. In the evening, several yatai food stalls set up down the street. It's a great Japanese summer pastime to stroll the canal and get some yakitori. Great location for that.
Cons: It seems slightly overpriced but not extreme.

Pros: This guest house was pretty good. The staff was friendly and the room (four-bed female dorm) was clean.
I originally booked a mixed dorm because it was the only room available online, however the staff who checked me in said there was an opening in the female dorm and asked if I wanted to move. Very nice of them.
Cons: The rooms were a little awkwardly sized, even by hostel standards. From what I could tell, there weren't many bathroom options aside from the one in the dorm. It made for a bit of waiting in the mornings.
The location wasn't too bad, but it wasn't great either. Not very close to any of the famous/popular sites, but that's what the metro is for.
Situated on the riverwalk, this hostel is within 2 mi (3 km) of Washioatago Jinja Shrine, Fukuoka City Museum, and Fukuoka Tower. Ohori Park and Momochi Beach are also within 3 mi (5 km).
Pros: I liked the staff and the proximity to shops and restaurants.
Cons: The wifi had a very poor signal. I had to stand in one place in the hallway to even get a signal to send a text. I never got a wifi signal at all in my room. The bathroom was a tight squeeze.

Pros: My husband and I loved the location, right beside the baseball stadium. We went to a baseball game and did a lovely city bike tour. Local transportation was easy from there. The hotel room was great and so was the service.
Pros: The staff were very accommodating and helpful since we are travelling with 2 folding bikes. The location was perfect since we wanted to see a Japanese baseball game.
Pros: The view from the 22nd Floor overlooking Fukuoka Tower was spectacular! HHonors members get free WiFi, unlike other Hilton locations in Japan.
Cons: Mold growing around the bathtub; no outlet near bed to plug in sleep aparatus and finding mounds of dust bunnies around the headboard while looking for such outlet; over 4,000 yen service charge at check-out that no one could explain or itemize.
The location is isolated with the adjacent Hawk dome and the Fukuoka tower the only attractions nearby.
Pros: The working staff was great.
Cons: The carpet was filthy and stained. It looked like it had never been cleaned
