the hotel was sound staff friendly the beer
Good value and within easy reach of motorway I booked two rooms and the heating didn't work in either room, although one room had a blow heater which we used (the other had a fan!) The price charged for foood and drink in the hotel were excessive, hence we ate out in the evening.
Staff were friendly, courteous, and efficient. No
food was excelent the method of payment i got called from my room on numerous occassions wanting clearence on my card and it wasnt just it there were about six other people what it happened to .. this did not look good on my valentines night away..
The pool and breakfast Staff unfortunatley not motivated
The service from the staff throughout the hotel was very good Room adjacent to the motorway producing more noise than we would have liked
Leaving No heating in room.
Being able to use leisure complex and the flexibiity of times. Also the service and buffet breakfast was excellent as were the staff.
the comfort and swimming pool, it cetainly made a good start to our belated honeymoon was rather surprised on the cost of alchol
pleasant staff, comfortable surroundings. good base for exploring derbyshire rather restricted table d'hote menu
the location of the hotel close to the motorway M1 the hotel is close to a pub - resturant threre is also some fast food oulet within walking distance .
we arrived at the hotel after travelling a long way to be met with freindly and effiecent staff......room was clean and comfortable....service in the restaurant/lounge was help yourself but it would have been nice to see staff serving...but all in all our stay in the ibis was better than in most hotels of its type. room was cold even with heater on....
Just a 1 night stay, but I was pleasantly surprised by the size, cleanliness and comfort of the room and bed.I would stay here again and I would refer a friend. Good breakfast for extra charge. Only a shower in the room and I sometimes like to soak in a bath after a long day.
Our dog was welcome (as were we!). We had control of the heating ang and ventilation in our room. Staff were friendly and helpful. In common with many hotels, there was no daylight in the bathroom - can't be helped, I suppose but I don't like artificail light first thing in the morning.
Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient, food good, room excellent, hotel ideally placed None
Clean and very pleasant environment.
Parking, amenities, space, price ... no way to beat this one! No guinness on tap
For price: facilities decor and equipment in the rooms I felt were better than travel lodge. Very close access to m1 jnct 30. Staff were very helpful
Booking, checking in and use of facilities including car parking effortless Could do with Bbis sign at mcdonalds entrance because the site is so easy to get to when you know its near mcdonalds entrance
I thought the staff were excellent
Friendly staff, clean modern rooms, good parking, good food. Slightly noisy, felt a bit out town
Clean and comfortable. Value for money. A very dull bar atmosphere and the food offering is less than mediocre.
Rooms very comfortable - bed good Had to ask for more towels/tea etc Was asked for my debit card details 3 times. Though this was a little bit over the top.
friendly helpfull staff, modern clean appearance of hotel comfy beds,..very nice , will stay again slight road noise ( from dual carrageway), but not a real problem
Nice room, disabled access good, cafe food decent, staff polite and helpful Though close to town, it was very dangerous crossing the road approaching the roundabout (Not Ibis fault!), also the booking website did not give enough info on the difference in room prices, I passed the link on to my friends, one couple paid the higher price (as we did) another couple paid the lower price and got free breakfast!
Friendly staff, nice room, comfotable bed & excellant pillows. Car park too small, Guests forced to take up disabled bays. I'm a disabled driver and had to park on street.
Well appointed near to the city ctr. Room is basic but functional. Breakfast was not good vfm. Very noisy near to main road
Very good value for money Difficult crossing road from hotel, but easy if driving & good location
SImple and predictable - the best reason for choosing an Ibis Hotel Noisy kids in room(s) opposite constantly opening/closing doors late at night. Not the hotel's problem and it was quickly dealt with by the night staff when I complained.
location is excelent for the town centre stayed here on many different occasions would return and recomend
Excellent food, good service. Lovely character stone building with clean modern decorations. Still have the original mill wheel housing as a feature. No problems.
A warm welcome, convenient, well- appointed room, spotless bathroom, plenty of hot water, very helpful staff and a pleasant breakfast. Very obliging bar staff who provided us with a late snack. None - other than appalling weather!
Room accommodation very clean and bright. Bar and restaurant very comfortable, with a welcoming log fire in the evenings but most of all the food was excellent. None
Atmosphere;friendly but not overbearing staff;good food I do appreciate that refurbishment is ongoing, but the twin room is in need of upgrading.
Beautiful clean building with excellent food. The price was below the experience we received. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Excellent accommodation and breakfast
Excellent food in the restaurant Room clean but furniture & fittings slightly on the shabby side, Could do with refurbishment
excellent food; staff very welcoming and capable- nice attitude, willing to help in any practical way; went `the extra mile` mattresses were not up to standard, we felt - but we may be fussy
good food slow breakfast service
Friendly staff; good range of food and drink options, i.e. formal dining or bar meals.
Staff were very friendly and were welcoming to our two dogs, which not all so called 'dog friendly' hotels!
location was very good, Staff friendly and helpful felt the hotel was very 'dated'
Lovely large sized room with lovely view (room 5) and the delicious breakfast.
Free car park, easy access to coutryside (ie location) Crowded dining area, with no internet access
The room had the space we expected, the bathroom was very large and the views were very good. There was no shower curtain for the roll top bath, we felt there should have been a circular rail above it. Also the wifi in the room did not work on demand, but for one night was not too much of a problem.
A small family run hotel in beautiful grounds. Nice spacious rooms. Good beer and wine available. Sliced bread with the French Onion Soup
Excellent food and good value Bedside lamp and table lamp not working nor was the shaver point in the bathroom. Poor picture quality on the outdated tv.
I only used it as a stopover The bed was uncomfortable
Pleasant location and near shops etc; good breakfast Shower very poor. Bathroom had no shelves for toothbrushes etc. Stained carpets. Odd furniture
The food was excellent and the staff were both helpful and friendly, offering advice on local walks etc. We did not sleep very well as the radiator was particularly noisy which I mentioned on departure and they seemed to be aware but had not done any thing about putting it right. Room was very basic and would request a different one if we stay again.
Pool & spa
Polite, happy & welcoming staff - outstanding value for money
Clean rooms and good food in restaraunt.
Breakfast Room booked 6 days before was not available, I was put in a twin room when I had boooked a double. Teir website claimed to have a refurbished hotel, my room was old and dirty and definitely not refurbished.
Breakfast - which was very good Very dirty windows (frames mouldy!) and cold veg with bar meal
Being able to work straight from the door of the hotel. The spa, when we were allowed to use it. No heater in our room. No where to sit except the bed in delux room, so we could not really visit our grandparents room. no lift. Our children (11 and 13) were not allowed in the pool when we wanted to go. No lift. No spin drier for costumes in the spa,so because our radiator was broken we had to put on cold wet costumes. a la cart restaurant was not open, and the bar food was chip orientated and the acoustics were terrible. No where comfortable to sit in the bar while waiting for our table. Insanely complicated billing.
since the new owners have been in place the food presentation and quality were excellent. up date the rooms next!
excellent rooms , great spa , food in the restaurant was out of this world ( gordon ramsay paying a visit ? ) , many compliments to the chef , excellent value for money , will visit again A1++++ if there was one slight gripe , it was having to queue for breakfast ? couldnt quite work out why such a well run hotel would run short of tables ?
Relaxed, friendly staff. The overall facilities looked pretty good, although I didn't use any of them. Overall design seemed a bit odd with the car park at the back and side, but the reception area at the front with no indication in the car park that that was where it was. Also considering the size and style of hotel it should get some proper real ale in the bar.
Although the hotel is 'tired' if you can get it for a cheap pirice you can get hotel services and facilities for Premier Inn costs. Food was good and at a reasonable price. As with many of the other reviews the hotel is in need of a revamp. Everything feels a little worn and outdated so don't book for a romantic weekend. It is fine for business if you arrive late and just need the convenience of a hotel.
staff were there but not in your face
Lots of room..big bathroom..warm.good service.good car park..best guest house we have ever stayed in. Nothing
I liked the cleanliness and the comfortable beds. The room was also large with a good sized bathroom. I also liked the provision of nice shower gel, soap, biscuits, coffee and tea.
welcoming and helpful landlady
A truley personalised service by the owner and a quality breakfast
within walking distance of town centre and plenty of car park space
I enjoyed my one night stay
Clean & tidy room. Comfortable beds. good breakfast Owner complained that there was eye make up stains on towles. I felt very uncomfortable after this.
Tha bathroom was very light and it was good to be the only people in the hotel. The bed was comfortable and the rooms werre warm. The room was quite dark in the daytime and there was no view and no armchair (nor any chair). It had no bath. It was small compared to overseas hotel rooms but not compared with other British. The teamaker needed a power point but this was hard to reach and other items had to be unplugged. Not enough table space.
Staff are always polite and helpful Cheaper rooms are still alittle shabby and dated
location food could have been better
Excellent location Lack of power sockets for the electrical equipment Hair dryer would not reach power socket so I could not use it Could do with central heating instead of oil radiator & bathroom heater
It had walls and a ceiling with heating (just). Friendly staff. No WiFi in rooms as advertised - got a poor signal in the bar but I wanted to do my work in private in my room. Shower cubicle too small for 6ft + people. Hot water in sinks took ages to arrive. Electric power shower was either too hot or too cold with no other controls. No digital tv. Old oil heater type heating for room. Poor food quality and range.
Carpets filthy. Poor lighting in the room. No curtain or blind over the bathroom window, though the glass was frosted (ground floor room overlooking the car park)
Bar area was nice and decorated well Room was shabby looking and carpets were in poor condition. Restaurant not much to look at to be honest.
Room was very clean and good value for money, nice rural surroundings yet close to motorway. Food was lovely None really, although room was very hot due to weather- maybe suggest a fan for residents
Nice bar area. The toilet/shower room did not have a floor to ceiling wall or door,,,, no privacy whatsoever!!!! For that reason alone I would never stay there again.
East access to motorway and road system The bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable
This is a convenient location for one visiting the great stately house, Chatsworth. It has a pub which serves good food and traditional English cooked breakfasts. Good sized room with attached bath. No problems. Not a problem, but it is set back a little from the road and we managed to drive by a couple of times without seeing it!
Staff were excellent - could not have been more helpful. Room was beautiful, bathroom was great with lovely complimentary shampoos etc plus nice range of teas and coffee. Hotel itself was full of character and olde world granduer.
Staff very attentive, as it was my first stay I was taken to my room and shown the breakfast room, bar and restaurant areas on the way. The food was excellent and there was a good choice. Free Wi-fi in bedroom.
A nice comfortable, old fashioned hotel.
Good atmosphere, comfortable, large rooms, pleasant staff, excellent breakfast. rooms on the front of the hotel suffer from road noise.
Nice Enviroment and ambience, Friendly Staff None
Newly kitted out and refurbished, with excellent staff and very good location, the beds were superb! Nothing, all of it was perfect!
The room was exceptionally clean. The waiting time for the evening meal.
Very pleasant surroundings. Rooms were very comfortable felt more like home than a hotel room which can often seem cold and univiting Room was a little cold heat wise especially the bathroom
Good room and staff, great food. Roudy group of men moved from private function room into hotel bar around 10pm. Took over the previously quiet comfy bar and some loud foul 'F' words used. Other customer was complaining to reception as we chose to leave, so don't know how staff handled the situation.
wireless internet advertised but 'broken' - hasn't been working for a while according to the receptionist. The terrible noise from the two functions going on the hotel which made it impossible to go to sleep before midnight.
