This was a beautiful old castle that has some quaint charm and fun views - it was a cute little adventure
The bed and bedding was most lacking - no top sheet and a lumpy mattress.
A delightfull and charming family run hotel full of characture and history, with very friendly staff. The Hotel is set in lovely countryside with great views of the surrounding country side and Sienne from our room.
No lifts and plenty of stairs would make it little difficult for some guests.
Our stay at this hotel was the highlight of our trip. It was a romantic, magical and very authentic experience. The owner, Nicola, gave a warm and friendly welcome and could give some great recommendations for restaurants. He made us feel very at home and told us some interesting history about the castle. It was quite and peaceful, with stunning views! Hearing the owls on the roof at night and enjoying the lovely 1km walk throught the Tuscan countryside into town each morning was wonderful. We wish we stayed another week! Breakfast was wonderful and so beautifully prepared and presented. We will be sure to visit this enchanting place again!
No complaints! Just that our stay was too short!
Nicola the Manager and Owner's son was absolutely pleasant and helpful. The Castle experience was unique and interesting, and different from anything we have experienced before. We could have easily stayed there longer and enjoyed it.
some of the furnishings could be renovated.
Excelent view. The Hotel staff is very Kind. A special place, very different to other Hotels.
The room was excellent with beauitful viewsand set loverly grounds The owner was very helpful and the breakfasts were excellent with local produce. Near to Siena and would recommend it to anyone.
Very small number of rooms combined with an excellent hospitality direct from the owners gives to this Hotel a differentiated atmosphere... You fell that you belong to the owners family! Nice experience to stay at an old castle!
It was something hard to find the Hotel at night, even with gps... Some signs at the last mile way should solve this issue.
Nice accomodation, excelent location (real Tuscany countryside and Siena 5 min drive), owner's hospitality.
What an adventure - to stay in such an old castle right outside of Siena (about 5 km drive)! We had the large apt with plenty of room. The breakfast served in the owner's own apt. Was delicious. We even got to go up in one of the towers and the view was unbelievable. You could see Siena and the city in the distance. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
It was a little difficult to find. Our gps stopped about a km from where it actually was. There were no signs!. We stopped and got directions and it is back in the woods on a hill. Once we found it, we had no trouble going back and forth to Siena. The entrance is at the end of the road before a sharp turn to the left (with big white arrows). The gate says private but has the name in very small letters underneath. Then take the dirt path and look for the number. We got there at night and it took a while to find the buzzer at the large door. The only other thing was that our room smelled like fireside smoke (there was a firplace).
The grounds and views were amazing. Make sure you ask to see the view from the tower! Breakfast was a typical Italian style- they even had cereal and warm milk for the kids.
