Hotel seems very popular for weddings and ceremonies on the fantastic beach fronting the hotel. On checking in we were fortunate they had an option available to upgrade to an ocean view room with balcony and kitchen and this room was well worth the reasonable cost of upgrade and made the stay more memorable. The pool bar is great but just wish ot could stay open later than 8pm. The pool bar is great but just wish ot could stay open later than 8pm. Not sure if this closing time is all year round but believe it is a Sarasota State requirement?
Convenient location. Great view. They have one of the most friendly, outgoing, accommodating and polite staff I have ever come across. Very nice pool & hot tub facilities - separate areas for family and adults - a nice feature. Quality lounge chairs & towels at both the beach and pool. Only ate one breakfast at the resort but the food and service were both excellent. I would certainly return. Set your GPS the first time coming here - when approaching from the north there is a palm tree partially blocking their sign so you could easily drive past the entrance before you realize where you are. After that, it's no problem. Also, use Washington St, etc. to bypass St. Armands Circle as you will avoid slow traffic around the circle. This will bring you right to their entrance.
To my surprise we were upgraded to the newly renovated rooms in the south tower. We were given a two bedroom suite with kitchenet and double balcony with amazing views. Even though it rained and was overcasted most of the time we still had a fantastic stay, for the simple reason that the accommodations were so great.
The room was old but clean, the bed was very comfortable, The fan in are bathroom did not work, and i thought the chair in the room was very used and not clean.
really great place a little to expensive
The location: right at the beach, and closeby to the St Armands Circle shopping and dining area. The willingness and friendlyness of the staff to help out, offer additional services.
Very large room with kitchenette was perfect beach holiday set up. Had breakfast in my room each day helped to save on costs and made sure I was on the beach by 9am each day enjoying the sunshine and the sounds of the crashing waves. Beautiful walks along the beach lead to a nature reserve area and bird life was terrific. Also a fabulous shopping and restaurant area is a short walk away making sure you can enjoy a drink or two without having to worry about driving.
The location and beach are great. The poolside tiki hut is a place I could stay all day, and the pina coladas were great. The rooms are old. Mold in the shower and baseboards are falling apart. Our group had 4 rooms at the resort and all of them were the same (and yes, all had mold on the shower curtain). When paying $200+ per night, you should get a lot more.
I liked the proximity to the beach . Our room was filthy. It looked like the only thing that was changed between guests was the bedding... And I'm not even sure about that .
the beach and the shoppes room was old and out dated tiles broken carpet ripped room was just run down.
Great location, that's about all they have though Paid rate of nearly $350 for a Friday night, tried to check in at 6 room wasn't ready, had to go back and check in again at 7:30. Horrible room next to parking lot and noisy early morning housekeeping carts. Next morning housekeeping was knocking at 10 a.m. to vacate and clean the room. Buyer beware as they say. Won't be back.
The hotel being on the beach, cleanliness, nice atmosphere, pleasant personel.
Great rooms; comfortable; staff very helpful. Restauran wasn't open.
Design, pool area, Nothing
Night desk staff was excellent. Mishaps with housekeeping.
Great rates for a nice, comfortable and spacious room. Clean and neat facilities (i.e. swimming pool, gym and etc). Yes .. it's not on the beach ....I get that and I knew that before booking, but it's literally only 5 mins from Casey Key beach. I rather pay one forth of the price, be able to not have a minimum stay, and get more comfort than be right on the beach in these so called "resorts" . Besides, it was 15 mns North of Venice beach and 15mins south of Siesta Key. Perfect location in my opinion, if you plan on visiting other beaches during your stay. Also, this place offers Live music on the weekends right by the pool bar (which respectfully ends at 9:30pm) . Nothing nicer than just chill and relax by the pool after a busy and hot beach day...and few steps from your room. If you get the breakfast package, be careful. Make sure you go early (7:30-8:30am) otherwise you'll be waiting for at least an hour. The way it works with the brkfst package; you get vouchers for 1 entree and a drink inside the restaurant. Well, we went on a holiday weekend, and everyone and their mothers had vouchers too...beside it's a regular restaurant that outsiders can come in as well. Needless to say, there were not enough tables to accommodate everyone and only 2 servers on the floor to attend 50 something seats. There was no organization to form a waiting list or line (seemed like the hostess became the busboy), so people were walking around looking to see who was about to be finished, making it very uncomfortable for those who were eating, almost like people in cars trying to find a parking spot and asking other if they are leaving. Hotel staff could've been more proactive and have a more prepared staff. We skipped breakfast at the hotel on the second day.
location on highway room was horribly located.....ice and vending right outside room, entrance from parking lot right outside door, maid station service area right outside room, stairway to second floor and other guests going up and coming down loudly on uncarpeted stairs right outside door, toilet flushing in room above and could hear this all night and early in morning....all this after requesting a quiet room. front desk would not move us as they said they were sold out, only to find out from other guests that they were indeed not and could have relocated us in front of later day arriving guests.. staff did not know how to replenish room of bathroom necessities, ie. toilet paper, hand soap, bath soap, shampoo. had to go to the front desk and they did not have proper substitutes and was given a commercial role of toilet paper the size of a small wheel, but was better than nothing
