Pros: Location was perfect for us, right in the middle of the city, across street from subway and bus. Took train from airport which dropped us at hotel doorstep. Hotel staff was delightful, booked great seats for opera at new opera house. Rest. in hotel great.
Cons: Buy a Oslo Pass to get into all museums and all public transport.

Pros: Great breakfast, very nice and large rooms, comfortable beds
Cons: Hallways a bit stark. No view from window
Pros: Close to the airport, 10 min walk. Close to the train 5 min walk. Free shuttle to airport. Taxi to central station was cheap, 160 kroner.
Rooms are clean. Bed was comfortable.
Cons: Breakfast was not included in room, 99 kroner extra.
Shower was tiny. So small I kept hitting the control for hot and cold water.

Pros: We were supposed to stay at the Apotek Hote. We arrived early in the morning from an overnight flight from Seattle. The staff was so kind and got us into a room right away at the Bristol Hotel next door. They also wanted us to have a quieter room because of the Pride Celebration that week-end. Loved the location and the kindness of the staff, because I ask a lot of questions. Chris
Pros: The breakfast buffet was excellent. Room was well-appointed with wood floors and very nice furniture. Everyone we dealt with on staff was thoroughly professional. The lobby was impressive.
Cons: There are a lot of rooms and the hallways all look the same, as do the rooms. No big problem, but if you're looking for somewhere with period charm, you'll be let down.

Pros: The hotel is in the train station so it is extremely convenient. Go down two escalators and when you find the "hall of restaurants " walk to the end by Bella Italian and the hotel check in is right there . It takes a couple of minutes to find the entrance but so worth it. Staff was very friendly.
Pros: The Bathroomdesign
Cons: The breakfast restaurant was much too small and has a bad floorplan-design. The buffé is located in the hallway towards the restaurant, therefore it is very bad organized and you get quickly annoyed by
the other guests.
Pros: The fact that te hotel is located in the train terminal , it's very convenient for people who are arriving by train. The room however is extrmely small. My husband and I had trouble finding the space we need to set up our luggage. Similar to a couple of other hotels we stayed in other cities in Norway, there's no air conditioner and only 2 towels were provided. If you have long hair or like to take more than one shower a day, it may be a hassle. The hotel would be good for solo traveler.

Pros: How well the staff treated our children and their incredible breakfast!
Cons: They do not provide any shuttle service from the metro. Oslo has a very convenient metro system so we did not rent a car. The front desk told me it was a short walk from the metro. It was a tough up hill walk with our luggage and family.

Pros: The staff went out of their way to help us ..
Cons: Out of the way. Loud construction. Maids started knocking at 8 am. No food close by.
Pros: Great food...breakfast was fantastic and had a wonderful dinner...better than in the city
Fairly priced, not the worst location, but also not central. A very worn and smelly feel - less than expected for a 4* hotel.
Pros: Its price and staff was nice. Room was quite silent at night, which is a plus.
Cons: Cheap interior, feels worn and unclean. Smelly beds.
Conveniently located in the center of Oslo, just minutes away from the main street Karl Johan, the Scandic St Olavs Plass is a short walk from the train station, and near the Parliament and Royal Palace.
Pros: Perfect Location
The Bus stop for to and from airport shuttle is right at the entrance of the hotel
The hotel is in a perfect center of the city
Most of the things/places to see in Oslo are within 10 minutes walking distance of this hotel
Hundreds of restaurants, bars and late night fast food places available within 3 to 5 minutes walking
Perfect place if you are visiting Oslo for leisure or business.
Staff is very polite and friendly.
Cons: Maybe need to improve on soundproof windows
Best Western Hotell Bondeheimen is located in downtown Oslo, 100 meters from the main street, Karl Johans gate, and a short walk from the Parliament and National Gallery. The airport bus and train both stop minutes away. It's a 3-minute walk to Stortinget Metro Station, and 10 to the main station.
Pros: The fourth floor breakfast room serves a very complete offering. Nice touch is that the menu varies slightly day-to-day.
Pros: Perfect location near the King's Palace.
Cons: Unfortunately, our room was right over a bar with an extremely loud band playing till 2:30 am. If we hadn't had suitcases unpacked, we would have asked to be moved. Very short night of sleep.
Pros: Staff greeted us personally and were so helpful. Facilities excellent and breakfast was served until 11am so could have a lie in x
Pros: Really good location for train and easy to get too. A little bit too touristy for us but it was very convenient. Breakfast buffet is really good. Hotel lounge was very comfortable if you have to check out early and needed a place to rest before your flight.
Cons: Bathroom was small and no real shampoo.
Pros: They get the job done. Good breakfast, good location, good staff, good price.
Cons: The hotel is a little run down, but overall was worth the price.
Pros: Very central - location
Cons: The rooms. We got 327 which had the shower and the toilet in the same space. It was a minuscule room with zero space to breath. One morning, unfortunately, when walking out of the room we found feces in the hallway. We reported it to the front desk. Although, it is understandable that was not the hotel's fault, one expects to be compensated in some sort for the unsightly inconvenience.
Pros: We were given a room upgrade, which was very nice. The room was spacious and comfortable.
Cons: It was a bit far from the station, but the T-bane was nearby.
Pros: My friend and I just returned home from Staying in Oslo. The Best Western Karl Johan was truly a great find! It is in an unbeatable location next to many restaurants and attractions. It only took us a few minutes to visit City Hall (Noble Peace Area), pier to fjord cruise or Museum Island, National Theater, Parliament, Ice Skating, and Subway to Airport/Skiing. 10 minutes away was the fort, king/queen palace (changing of the guard), and Opera House.
The staff all spoke English and were very helpful pre and during trip. They took the time to answer all of my questions prior to visiting Oslo and while staying at their hotel.
Breakfast was perfect! First of all, food in Oslo is expensive. Having breakfast included was a major perk. They had quite a variety of items to choose from.
Overall, I can't wait to go back to Oslo again. Best Western Karl Johan would definitely be my choice of hotel again.
Cons: Wish they had a fitness center, but everything else was excellent.

Cons: Didn't really have air conditioning -- our room was really hot which was disruptive
Pros: We don't know what we would have liked because our reservation was cancelled on the morning of our flight to Oslo because of a hotel workers strike.
Cons: Obviously, we didn't like the need to find another hotel at the very last minute.
Pros: The staff was excellent - they helped me recover my kindle when I accidentally left it on the airport shuttle. They also helped me with directions and provided assistance in finding my way around Oslo. The breakfast buffet was very good as well.
Cons: Room temperature was a bit warm for my taste - the ac was apparently not on yet (early spring), so I could not make the room cooler.
Pros: Stig the Receptionist at front desk who tried to rectify the problems with our rooms
Cons: My wife and I arrived on the 17th August 2015, and on attempting to check-in we were told the "computer system" was not working and therefore we we not able to check in. We were told to either wait (they could not provide an estimate on how long it would take).
After a 15-min wait we were checked in "manually". As an American Carlson member, I presented my Club Carlson Gold card, but it wasn't accepted because my trip was booked through Kayak!
Nevertheless after a short delay we were in our room. Immediately we noticed that the carpet in the room was dirty, and there were 2-single beds (as opposed to a double as we booked)
Credit to the front desk staff who promptly reassigned us to a "newly refurbished" room. The room was a marked improvement over the last, and we happily settled in; unpacking our suitcases and preparing for an afternoon of sightseeing.
On return in the evening, we prepared for the night and around 20:00 we tried to lock the door. The door lock did not work. A call to the front desk and a couple of minutes later someone from maintenance was at our door. I explained that the door wouldn't lock from the inside and he insisted that the lock was working. I was a bit taken back by his curt response, but nevertheless invited him to try. What followed next had me flabbergasted! The maintenance employee closed the door, and using his body weight proceeded to to yank on the door handle until he could engage the lock. Curtly he replied, "There it is locked". I attempted to unlock door by turning the lock itself and when I couldn't he demonstrated how to unlock the door. Standing on his toes and again using all his body weight he pressed down on the door handle until the lock disengaged. Again the curt response, "There it is unlocked". I couldn't believe it! Visibility annoyed at this point, when I pointed out that locking the door in such a manner would be a fire hazard (not to mention my wife will never be able to unlock the door if I locked it), he suggested that I actually didn't need to lock the door as no one from the outside could get in without a key. In response I stated that any member of staff could enter if the door was unlocked, to which he acknowledged was true and said I could either call the front desk to arrange a new room, lock the door as he demonstrated, or leave the door unlocked; but there was nothing he could do to fix the lock.
Another call to the front desk and we were offered a room on the 20th floor. So after repacking we moved to our 3-room for the day.
From then on the only issues we faced were with our room keys. Every time we left our room, the room key would not let us back in. So we had to make our way to the front desk where they would make a new key. Every time without fail!
