The pool was excellent and the evening meal was of good quality, with friendly service staff. The standard of cleanliness in the rooms was high. The hotel reception is not particularly helpful. I booked months in advance, requesting a third child bed in a superior room as advertised for a supplement, but the hotel failed to book this, and failed to offer an alternative (eg extra room, despite the fact that there was one available online). If they do not have rooms capable of accommodating 2 adults and 3 children, they should not accept bookings that clearly state this configuration. Also their breakfast option is extortionate. I recommend the E Leclerc Hypermarche nearby instead which offers an excellent breakfast at less than one tenth of the price.
Nice pool. Staff helpful & friendly. Room clean Very expensive compared to another hotel we used this stay in Sarlat which was far superior. 5 people in one room and you charged us ?480 for 2 nights.
The first night our room was above the late arrivals night parking-cars arrived till after midnight. Ask not to be put there!
Well priced, nice swimming pool, and good restaurant.
Great pool, panaoramic view, close to Puy du Fou, nice restaurants and convenient shops in local town. All over a pleasant stay, nice room. Main objection was price of the food, and the room. The food was only OK but fine.
Spacious, clean, comfortable room Unable to comment on outside facilities due to bad weather Restaurant offers very mediocre no choice menu on Fridays & Saturdays due to local attraction (Puy de Fou). A notice warning guests of this practice would enable one to eat elsewhere. Also, one does not expect set, halfhour 'sittings' for breakfast at a hotel of this category. It seemed that there were not sufficient staff on duty at weekends to cope with the numbers. Very disappointing. However, the one 'proper' dinner we had during our stay was up to usual Logi standard.
clean tidy rooms , helpful staff we arrived after 800 pm and the restuarnt was closed
New rooms, large, clean, quite ( not noise at all). Price for breakfast are a bit too high considering that you travel with kids. We did not take breakfast in the hotel because of that.
Location to centre and difficult to find depending on which way the hotel was approached.
Good location for Puy du Fou, clean room and bathroom, swimming pool very poor standard in staircases (worn carpets, unpainted concrete walls). Very expensive breakfasts (12Euros per person even for children). Restaurant looked soul-less.
The quiet remoteness of it all was so different from a coastal hotel. The owner was charming and helpful. A truely international prescence.
A beautiful family owned manor house. We had the family room in the tower which was lovely reflecting the era of the manor with a modern en suite with a great shower. The owners are lovely and speak very good english. Great traditional breakfast.
Oweners are extremly helpful and supporting, room design is great and there are a lot of facilities we have been there with 3 kids who did not want to leave ...
Manoir de Ponsay is a nice place-to-stay for one day or more. Actually it was only a stop-over in our case, but exactly the very quiet and restfull stop we were looking for. The owners are nice and sincerely friendly with their guests.
Beautiful location.Fantastic meal and good table service. Did not find the hotel staff very welcoming or prepared to help with confusions.
The staff was really kind and helpful
Helpful staff, clean warm rooms and excellent food. Nothing
Very nice spacious room with helpful staff Noisy bedroom from outside equipment but needed to keep window open for air.
We were very honoured to stay at the home of the owners of this hotel. They were very gracious in their time and help and we really enjoyed our stay there very much. The hosts, castle grounds, room and food were all wonderful. The immediate availability of good restaurants and interesting towns in the surrounding area was a little bit limited.
the whole Ambiance of the castle ,
Luxary, excellent service
The owners were accomodating, helpful and kind. The facilities were lovely. The grounds are beautiful and well cared for...as is the outdoor swimming pool. Located very close to the Puy du Fou, it was convenient as well. Close by restaurant, Auberge Mercure is a grand experience in fine food. There was nothing not to like about the Chateau
The hotel was clean, convenient, and had all the facilities necessary for an overnight stop. The presence of the restaurant next door was very convenient. The presence of the cleaners waiting to clean the rooms whilst we were still eating breakfast was a little off-putting.
The location is perfect to break a long journey but is not where you would stay for local scenery. This is a modern, clean and well maintained building just seconds from the A83 Autoroute junc. 7 but as a result of impressive sound insulation guests do not hear any traffic noise or other guests. The rooms are spacious, contain all the furniture you may need and (unusually) the bathroom is warm, well proportioned and extremely well lit. Top marks! A pleasant "atrium" sitting area for reading, using the free Wi-Fi, a drink and/or breakfast. Two nights without complaint - rare for us. Their excellent restaurant just a few steps away offers good variety of dishes and wine at very reasonable prices. We recommend this hotel without reservation Nothing
very clean and efficently run hotel, contenintal breakfast was fine but nothing can make up for the fact that the hotel is quite isolated and in an industrial estate, i would however stay again if i was in the area
Good quality management, staff, rooms, food, restaurant. Lovely views in a quiet location. Better than 6.7 as in other reviews. The location was rather remote so anyone who does not like tranquility - don't go !!
Cheap and cheerful, very basic rooms some what dated and no lift.
It was nice to come back for a swim in the pool. The hotel was in a nice peaceful setting on a beautiful lakeside location French hotels don't have tea/coffee-making facilities in the rooms and our room looked out over a kitchen roof
Restaurant good. Activity during the evening with entertainment laid on for a coach group which we were invited to participate. All ok.
comfortable but the food was average
The bar and the terace Worn out hotelroom and especially the shower and bathroom We stayed here the saternight and sundaynight. We told the landlady that we went out on the sunday. She never told us that she was closed on the sunday, so when we arrived back at the hotel at night , there was nobody there, We couldn't get a drink and we couldn't let her know that we were going to leave at 6 oçlock the next morning. We just left the money in the hotelroom as we left early the following morning, so there was no proper checking out.
Friendly owners, comfortable bed. Shower needs updating, hotel didn't open at 1500 as quoted, in fact not until 1730
We found this hotel great for the stopover to the Puy du Foy, lovely comfy beds and great bar downstairs for a drink the owners were great and provided for all our needs, they do a lovely full English breakfast, alltogether we enjoyed our stay very much.
Easy to find Hotel did not open until 5pm, website said 3pm, unable to contact owners while waiting! Small room, poor decoration, hole in carpet, sagging mattress, no soap provided, only one disposable plastic cup in bathroom. One teacup was dirty. Breakfast very basic. View from window was of a scruffy backyard
