Silver Explorer Information

About Silver Explorer

Refurbished extensively in 2017, the Expedition ship, Silver Explorer from Silversea Cruises, offers an exciting blend of luxury and adventure. This 354-ft. all-suite vessel carries just 144 passengers to smaller, rarely-visited destinations. Along the way, they'll be cared for by a crew of 118, which is an impressive crew to passenger ratio to ensure passenger needs are met. Silver Explorer offers itineraries ranging from 8, 9 and 11-night journeys, from San Diego to Vancouver. Stops along the way include San Francisco, California, Rainier, Oregon and Olympia, Washington. In Astoria, Oregon, passengers with an interest in history can see the only military installation in the U.S.A. to be fired upon since the War of 1812. Off the coast of San Juan Island, Washington, kayaking is available, giving guests a chance to get up close and personal with seals, porpoises, eagles, and sometimes even killer whales. This luxury vessel has 66 suites, all with seating areas, flat screen TVs, and ocean views. All passengers can enjoy personalized butler service, and a number of luxury touches, including sumptuous Etro bathrobes and slippers, a pillow menu, a mini-bar, and personalized stationery, to ensure an extra comfortable voyage. Onboard activities center around exploration and education. Extensive briefings introduce all shore excursions, and enrichment lectures are a real highlight of the journey. Photography lessons are on offer sometimes, to help passengers get the most from their shore excursion snapshots. There are two hot tubs, a popular spa, a beauty salon, and a basic fitness center. Silver Explorer does not have anything designed for children and attracts mature, well-traveled guests.
