The owner Fred was very friendly & helpful and the beds were comfortable which is all we required. It was Ideally located for our trip to the "Rock Temple". The walls are too thin, and the water pipes are very noisy!
Friendly and helpful staff.
The husband and wife who run the place (rooms are above a restaurant) are excellent, very friendly and hugely helpful. Directed us around the town and where to get buses etc. Even saved breakfast for us when we missed it by 2 hours! :) Kerkrade itself though is very quiet.
The food is fantastic, and the owner is such a welcoming person, real home from home feeling. The bathrooms could be better but were adequate
The owner/ manager was excellent host. Nothing was too much trouble for guests. Food very good.
Politeness of the staff
Friendly owner, clean room, good beds, very good diners. The hotel is a perfect starting point for trips in Limburg (Valkenburg, Vaals, Maastricht, Snowworld etc etc). In the night it was a bit noisy on the street in front of the hotel (cars driving fast and drunk people yelling)
Le Bistro is located in the center of the tourist area of the town. Offerings include free internet and free breakfast.
The location was good - right on the main thoroughfare They did not have any record of our booking.com reservation. The room we were given was not particularly clean and had no towels. Breakfast was miserable. The barman/receptionist tried his best to sell me a parking ticket which he new was not good value for us. The place smelt of mold and mildew and needs a good renovation. There wsa no internet as advertised on Booking.com. For 60 Euro for a double it was overpriced but then again the whole town of Valkenburg is overpriced - but very nice for an eveming's wining and dining.
It was more than OK for the price. I didn't have high expectations, but it was better than I thought it would be. Breakfast was simple, but more than OK. When you walk out of the hotel you're in the most crowded street right away, that's both pleasant and noisy, but we didn't mind the noise at night! Warm water at the sink and the heater both didn't work in our room didn't work, but the warm water knob of the sink was damaged. Although the heater didn't work, it was warm enough in the room (sunny days too). Sometimes it smelled a little bit bad in the room.
The hotel is perfectly placed in the town centre The staff were not very helpful, the heating went off every day and we had to complain every day to have it put back on, the cleaning of the rooms was not very good
It is quite OK (especially when you count it is maybe one of the cheapest in this town - at least we couldn't find cheaper one in all booking sistems). The room is confortable. The breakfast was also good. There is smell of mold on the stairs but we found it quite charming, like beeing in an old house. It is on the main street, just in the center of the town. The bathroom smelled a bit.
Heat did not work in room,
We liked the very central location. The heating was continually turned off during our stay and we had to complain to staff almost every day to turn it back on, one day the room had not been cleaned or beds made, the staff did not speak very good English which was unusual for the area
