Wi-Fi was perfect unlike other places that say they have it. This actually worked quite well. Staff was friendly. Room was nicely remodeled. Bed was very comfortable. Great location too. While location is perfect. Don't try to drive to the hotel directly. The old city is a labrynth of narrow one way streets that our car's GPS couldn't navigate. We ended up parking at the main car park under the bus station which was just a short walk to the hotel.
Impressive luxury hotel! Extremly friendly staff. no
Away from the maddening crowds this luxury small hotel is what Knokke was all about....
One of the finest hotels along the Belgian coast. Impeccable service, multilingual staff, excellent breakfast buffet. A place where one does not have the impression to be just a customer. We decided to stay longer than planned.
An Officers House is a bit out of the center of Bruges but still an easy walk to the main square. The woman who runs the place is very nice. The rooms were filled with marionettes which was a little odd but certainly didn't detract from the comfort or value for money. The beds didn't have sheets. I find it unlikely they wash the duvet after every stay, but maybe they do.
The hotel was in a quiet area, approx 10 minute pleasant walk to The Markt. The room was spotlessly clean, with comfortable beds and tea/coffee making facilities. It had a nice lounge area, and there was a good sized ensuite bathroom with an excellent shower. The breakfast offered a great variety of breads, pastries, cheese, cold meat, fresh fruit, cereal, eggs, and of course the delicious chocolate fountain! We were delighted with our choice and would definitely return there.
Feel like home, nice host Shoud add the map in the web site and detail to go to the hotel
Very cosy hotel, nice service
The lady was very helpful and informative. The off site parking good value. Breakfast very good especially the chocolate fountain
Quiet, friendly atmosphere, comfortable room and facilities.
very friendly and a loverly house no
The accommodation was both very clean and comfortable, with an exellent en suite bathroom. The owners were both friendly and helpful with a good breakfast. Car parking was also good (in a garage). The garage facility was good but had one draw back that the car had to be removed before midday and we wished to spend the day in town before moving on. As it happened this was not a problem for us as my wife has a disabled blue badge
Friendliness of the staff, our lovely room, lovely breakfast and central location. not didn't like as such but as we were there for 2 days, I didn't feel that we needed new soap after one day. i'm sure it would save you money.
Location is very good, confortable to look around the town. Public parking is near and affordable. Breakfast is good.
Good value, clean, friendly staff.
Location excellent; room available when we checked in; breakfast was very good; beds were v comfortable Bathroom attached to the room needed shelves or a small table/cabinet for toiletries; some hooks for coats would have been useful as well as more hangers in the wardrobe
The size of the room and the ensuite. Also the friendly staff and the good breakfast. No
Wonderful modern room, great bathroom, large shower and preparation area. Large comfortable bed. Warm, and very quiet even though our room was street. (This room was well designed to block noise). Good breakfast, great bread and meat selection. Ample seating space. Very good location! Day staff allocated our room to another. Night staff disturbed 2 sets of guests at 11pm looking for an available room (Opening door into occupied room!). Staff could not understand why this experience would be disturbing to waiting guests, and did not appreciate our complaints.
The location Parking near by A nice big room Lack of refrigerator in our room
lovely family room
We stayed for 1 night and arrived quite late. Found the nearby reserved parking very convenient. Excellent location, only a few minutes walk to the main market & belfry. Hotel combined genuine old building character with modern facilities and was very clean and tidy.
Position of hotel is close to all facilities. Size of room fantastic with tea and coffee facilities. Lack of elevator
lovely building with courtyard and very pleasant staff and axcellent breakfast
Excellent location close to city sites. Room was big which was excellent with 3 of us in it
great hotel, central location, friendly staff and great buffet breakfast
It's nearness to the centre of Brugges no
The location was excellent, the room was very large and comfortable and the breakfast room had a lot of character and was very nice. No
Beautifully clean room, good size. Rooms very noisy, when complained we were moved.
Very central and convenient. Comfortable. Spacious room. No facilities apart from room and breakfast. No lift.
Great location and charming. No elevator and had to carry luggage up 2 flights of steep stairs. Also, had mosquitos in room.
The staff (owners?) were very helpful and pleasant. The breakfast room is a delight - very unique. Breakfast very good - lots of choices. Great location and spacious room.
Very clean rooms. Great location. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Very comfortable and cozy. Good value for the money! No elevator... carrying the luggage up and down could be a bit of hassle for travelers. A tea/water boiler would be a nice appliance addition to the room.
Its close to city center and main sights poor breakfast
Great location close to the centre of Brugge. Friendly staff and great breakfasts.
The Hotel is really centrally located, although just off main streets so is quiet and hussle free. The hotel had jsut been renovated and everything was lovely and new. Reasonable sized room with good size bathroom- we had an attic room with skylight window.
It is in a great location. Far enough from the centre square (quieter location for sleeping at night) but close enough to be able to walk everywhere. Staff were exceptionally accommodating and friendly...even with our 3 young children. Beds are really comfortable for the standard of the hotel. Brugge is really expensive for eating out and accommodation so this was a great option, we had 2 interconnecting rooms (a superior family room) and it was ideal for a short stay. For our budget and needs it was a great option! Breakfast was enough of a range without being over the top. Not many facilities other than a room and small restaurant.
Excellent staff and breakfast. Recommendations for restaurants oustanding. Hotel well located. Room was on very noisy street and lacked air circulation. A fan would be of great assistance.
very quiet area but within very close walking distance of places of interest
Breakfast! No tea & coffee in the room.
Staff made us very welcome. Good location The mosquitoes!
The staff were extremley helpful , location excellent for city sight seeing.
We enjoyed the proximity to the downtown region but yet we were far enough away to enjoy the flavor of Brugge. nothing
Very warm, informative welcome. Delicious breakfast in a lovely room with open fire and candles on the table ! Excellent location, right on a canal.
The staff were very helpful and provided a warm welcome and plenty of advice; underground parking and bicycle use were available at no extra charge. Breakfast was delicious. This is a very well run family hotel in a great location. The room was very nice - perhaps it needed a mirror above the dressing table.
Friendliness and helpfulness of staff. Fantastic breakfast brought to our room. Traffic noise in Room 17.
Hotel staff was great at giving us tips for eating out, and concerts. Location is great, 10 min walk from the market square. Rooms adequate and bathroom fair. Noise, due to bad insulation, firstly from doors who do not seal well from the corridor, and from a water pipe behind the bed, where we could hear water flowing from the room upstairs. This is probably due to the fact the hotel is a 17th century building...
the hotel's location on the canal and near city center made it the right place to stay while visiting such a wonderful city. Thanks for having a place to park the car. It made the trip more enjoyable that we didn't have to be concerned for the car once we got to the city
This is a fine hotel, perfectly located with a warm family feeling. The staff are gracious and helpful. The breakfast is magnificent! Full marks!
Free Bike loan & free secure parking. Good location easy to explore Bruges on foot.
This was a wonderful hotel for us. The canal room #8 was a pleasure. Breakfast was exceptional. Staff top notch. Location-perfect. The hotel has bikes for the guest. We spent 2 glorious days on the bikes. You can really cover ground and enjoy much more than on foot. Brugge was a beautiful place with lovely people. We would stay there again. Don't miss this quite quaint hotel.
the hotel has such a calm feeling. The bikes are great (try a trip to Holland only an hour away)
Very friendly staff, homely feel to the hotel. Lovely room and breakfast.
Clean room, good breakfast, godd service. No
Friendly staff, close to the centre, nicelz decorated. -
Traditional old building with plenty of character No parking.
Friendly, welcoming, informative staff. Excellent breakfast. Comfortable beds with good linen
The breakfast was excellent (fresh fruit, breads, cheeses, meats, yogurt, cereal, juices & milk) and the service was top notch! The rooms were beautiful and contained elegant details in every corner and still simply comfortable. We traveled in a group so we saw two different rooms. The family room was on the second floor with a small balcony attached, a sofa bed, and two double beds pushed together to make a queen/king sized bed (very comfortable). The bathroom was newly remodeled, no detail was missing. The second room sleeping only two people was on the 4th floor (attic room) with a window overlooking the street. It was what we considered a small room but with such elegance even my sometimes picky mother-in-law was charmed into it. It only had a shower in a small toilet room, but had a beautiful washbasin next to the bed. The hotel was within walking distance of the city center, about a 5-10 minute walk. I hate to even slighly complain about this hotel, but there was one small thing I would like to note. The lightswitches for the stairs are lit next to the doors like doorbells and so when we came in late we dared not try them and had to find our way up the old staircases with a flashlight. In this escapade we discovered a couple rails that were a bit wobbly and cause of some concern.
The breakfast is fantastic, it's a beautiful place (especially the dine room) and staff is very nice! The bathroom was too small and the shower was made of plastic. But it worked well.. And our room was quite small anyway, but the other rooms looked a lot bigger so maybe we were just out of luck on this one ;)
Lovely building with all the original features, updated in a very tasteful way. Very enjoyable stay, 10mins from the city centre on foot
Good breakfasts, great beds, room & en-suite very clean. Would have been nice to have had tea & coffee making facilities
Location was good, only a 5 minute walk to the main square. The room was comfortable and spacious with old-fashioned high ceilings. Breakfast was very good with the usual bread and pastries on offer. Everywhere was nice and clean. The en-suite bathroom was not very private with a sliding door which didn't close properly!
delicious breakfast (w/ eggs & waffles), friendly cat by the fireplace. Artsy, clean, great location for the 1 or 2 day walking around the town visit. Fishtank in wall of room was pleasant diversion. Construction noise across the street,
leaving after asking for a room to suit my partner who has MS they put us in a totally unsuitable room with access up a very steep and dangerous staircase. they did at least discount the cost but it did not help my partners discomfort
The staff were very helpful and friendly ,the rooms were quirky in a good way and central to what we wanted to see.Free use of the internet in the lounge area The idiot Tottenham supporter who decided to "sabotage" the internet so you could only get the clubs home page on it
Sauna & jacuzzi facilities Very good breakfast Np Car parking
excellent hotel, very unique, great location and price
Very romantic and comfortable, the staff is helpful and friendly and is near to the centre and to the train staition. So nice.
breakfast is good, free coffee available all day no
the uniqueness of the room, the view from our window, our room was large The only negative would be the narrow stairs to get up to the room - it wasn't bad for us, but I was glad our suitcases weren't very heavy.
The welcome and the very homely lounge, with large fire, to sit and relax in after a days sightseeing
Location was great, right in the centre of Bruges. Staff were always welcoming and did anything to ensure our stay was a success. Big breakfast to set you up for a day's sight seeing (in a city packed with interesting places to see). Great fire always going in the loiunge bar to welcome us back on a cool Autumn evening and the bedroom was pleasantly warm and welcoming too. Steep staircase in annex to our (large) top floor bedroom which was challenging with a large suitcase but perhaps that comes with being in a old characterful heritage bulding but could be an issue for some older guests.
Very friendly, helpful staff. Location was good for most of the amenities and attractions in Knokke-Heist. Booked a no-smoking room, but was given a smoking room!! Parking is free on the adjacent street ,but a bit of a lottery finding a space!
The location and the kindness of the people. The breakfast was just a little bit too poor. Lack of variety of eggs and fruits
No shower curtains in bathroom. Extractor fan not working inbathroom. No airconditioning
I don4t like the breakfast
close to center clean room small bathroom
Very close to the train station
Parking wasn't easy; we were lucky, but maybe because it was Sunday evening.
Small & quiet. The lack of room bar.
Would not recommend a stay in this hotel. Matress old, lumpy, extremely uncomfortable, pillows ditto. Breakfast mediocre, coffee not drinkable, no breakfast tea as an option. Room clean on arrival, during the stay (5 days) room not vaccumed, tub not cleaned and sheet changed.
Very friendly and helpful owners. Beautiful rooms at an amazing location. A fresh pressed orange juice gave us a good start of the day. Also the restaurant is very classy, nice food and great atmosphere!
really central location, friendly staff, good breakfast, big room bathroom was cold,
Level of service, excellent location Poor condition of room - very uneven flooring, ancient uncomfortable couch, radiator heat failed in the middle of a very cold night.
Staff were great, breakfast was delicious, room was modern yet still quaint. The great location comes with one drawback. There were lots of drunks on the streets both nights we were there (Saturday and Sunday in November).
location is great, very friendly staff providing great information on the city. nice sized room as well which was clean could provide a hairdryer for the ladies in the winter months.
Perfect location in the heart of Bruges, rich breakfast with a handmade cake, the owner is a very sweet lady. The bed was not the most comfortable ever (but good enough to rest)
The attention was personalized and excellent, it made us feel at home Some guests might need an elecator, however the hotel is built on an old wooden house so perhaps an elevator would affect the hotel's charm
Very-very pleasant and helpful manager. Clean, cozy rooms. Location just around the corner from the center square. We stayed in room #4 for 2 nights. The room was warm (we stayed in November). Good value of money It is an old building, thin hotel walls, creaking stairs. But service was great and friendly
Friendly owner and excellent location. Needs a little up-dating but nothing serious.
The hotels provided traditional and comfortable accomodation right in the heart of Bruge. it was also great value for money.
This hotel is a great deal especially given its prime location just around the corner from the center square. We stayed in room #6 with a nice view of the tower. The manager is very knowledgeable of the town and its activities. We had a great weekend and enjoyed our stay! The hotel walls, stairwell banaster and rooms could use a little loving care. It is an old building, but there are definitely areas that could use some up keep. Nothing that would inhibit us from staying a second time though...
Magnificent location yards from hub of city life, Owner could not have been more pleasant and helpful, Breakfast was excellent. The hotel was as we thought it would be, by no means luxurious but basic, clean and good value for money. There was nothing to dislike about the hotel.
a lovely breakfast and the place had character with some internal decoration it could be made really special our room was draughty and the shower room was tiny
The service was outstanding. The woman who runs the hotel is extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel has an old time feel to it, and is in a great location just a block away from the center square of Bruges. It is not luxurious, but if you are on a budget, the hotel should nicely meet your expectations.
Hotel Van Eyck is a straightforward traditional Belgian hotel with cheerful service and a nice breakfast in a relatively quiet street right in the centre of Brugge - with a squeeky staircase ;-) Reasonable overnight parking nearby at the Zilverpand.
Accommodation is new, fresh and very clean. Beautiful place, lots of personal touches and in room facilities. The owner is very friendly and personable without being over bearing. Accommodation is very private and spacious for an inner city location and a guest house. Breakfast is fab, unusual in a very good way, very satisfying (you won't need lunch) and very reasonably priced (under 20 euros p/p p/day) so well worth a try. Overall a real gem amid a lot of over priced old hotels and guest houses in the centre. Not really any negatives. It is a fair step into the centre so make sure your footwear is up to walking in but if you're relatively fit it's not an onerous walk and there's plenty of nice architecture to look at along the way.
We had a perfect welcome! The owners are friendly and dedicated people who arranged everything till the little details.
We absolutely adored our stay here. The pictures don't do it enough justice, the hotel is beautiful and our suite took my breath away. It was so nicely decorated, and pristine clean, just what we wanted! Sofia made us feel so welcome, she was very attentive and accomodating. Our rooms were tidied every day, which was a nice surprise. We didn't have the breakfast during our stay but i'm sure that would have been lovely too. The place is about ten minutes walk from the main square of Bruges, but the walk there is so nice that you don't notice the time flying by! We had an absolutely wonderful time there, I think we will find it very hard to find a place to beat it any time soon! I would most definitely recommend this hotel to anybody. The beds were very comfortable but the use of two single mattresses instead of one double mattress was a little annoying as one tends to sink into the space between the two. I think this may be a continental thing as we experienced the same thing in Brussels too. It was by no means a big issue, but is just something to think about.
Sofia who runs the bed and breakfast was very welcoming, friendly and attentive. The Junior sweet was spacious, tastely decorated (minimalistic) and comfortable. The centre of Bruges is a 10-15 minute walk from the property, which was convenient as there was free parking available at the property.
Sophia made us feel completely at home, the accommodation and facilites were excellent, and the food was outstanding. We were very happy here and are already planning to come back. Nothing at all to complain about, Maison Bousson was fantastic
A good location only 10 mins walk from the centre of Bruge. Spacious and perfectly presented room. The only bad point was the weather was too cold to try the pool.
friendly staff, great location in Brugge, clean room, good facilities, nice continental breakfast.
Very helpful and friendly staff
ease of entry, carparking, access to centrum all 5 of us (including 3 children) were covered in bug bites from the bedding the following day which is most unacceptable
well the hotel was very decent...Very well situated in the city but honestly would not really rate it as a 4star hotel in respect to luxury...the room was very plain...now there was an issue with the sheets which were stained- rate a bit high in respect to quality provided
Location...the best parts of Bruges are within walking distance. The staff was very helpful...upon knowing that it was our first time to Bruges, the receptionist immediately gave us maps, advice on where to go in the city and how to get there.
central location. parking facilities (although expensive compared to other hotels we have stayed in. Not the hotels fault but I had 2 sleepless nights due to the roudy fair in the "T Zaand " square which went on into the early morning.
As always, cleanliness, comfort and friendly, helpful staff. We have stayed there nmany times and the standard never varies. Well done. No ice in the minibar and only a cupful of half melted ice available at the bar.
Very nice location! On the central market place.
Nice location and nothing else to like The hotel has not been updated in last 70 years -- this is likely a single star hotel (not sure why they are still showing 4 stars). the place is not clean, low value for money, has only one staff member for everything, the breakfast was one of the worst i have eaten in my life, a complete dead hotel -- should be demolished and new built.
Car parking & location
Nice rooms, nice location, nice price
A really personal service, so different to most hotels! Veerle the landlady was very kind and friendly, making sure we were well looked after and had everything we needed at all times, from restaurant recommendations, to a packed lunch for the train journey home! She really made this holiday stand out, we had a lovely relaxing time. The guesthouse is nicely decorated, with everything that you need. Breakfast was lovely, so much variety and really fresh. Location was perfect too - only a 5 minute walk to the main square, but down a quiet street so we weren't disturbed. I highly recommend this hotel - excellent.
Close to city centre
Friendly manager, excellant buffet breakfast and facilities in room, good location and close public parking.
Welcoming, ever-so-helpful manager - comfortable and warm . . .ideally central to Bruges sights .. . great for short visit . . ample breakfast
The location is excellent for the old city of Bruge. Breakfast is lovely and Yasmine very welcoming. Previous guests clothes in the wardrobe
Very nice owners and very accommodating
Very personal and considerate service. Nothing was too much trouble despite having to let in a doctor close to midnight.
The fact that the hotel was small, and its proximity to the centre of Bruges Nothing
Staff extremely helpful, room clean and comfortable, breakfast lovely, very good location for site seeing
Very fair price for quality and location. It's not negative, but do not expect luxury and top quality here. This is a comfy, simple and austere hotel for a very decent weekend in a beautiful city.
Location, friendly staff, good breakfast
Friendly staff, peacefull location, very spacious rooms, location is good because everything you need is very close! Very tasty breakfast, good variation! Plenty of stuff to do in the place itself, biljart, dvd's, music and lots of books! floors where a small bit noisy
Very comfortable, excellent location, affordable and super hosts.
Thin walls/noisy. Problem with mosquitoes
Kindness of staff, the atmosphere, cleanliness and comfort. It is much better than a standard 3star hotel
The hotel was run by people who were very committed, helpful and caring. The décor is in keeping with the environment. The room was comfortable and reasonably quiet. No problems.
The staff were unobtrusive but friendly and accommodating The hotel bar was not really a bar - more a reception area with the tiniest of bars which never appeared to be staffed. The hotel details give a slightly false impression. Having said this, there are plenty of bars around for this not to be a great problem.
We were happy that this hotel was so centrally located. The breakfasts were also very good. It was very helpful that there was a lift. The room was not very big and at night it could be noisy when other guests arrived back in the late hours.
Very quiet and peaceful location. Helpful and attentive staff who made you feel very welcome. Somewhat small rooms
Location. Excellent buffet breakfast. Car parking at a modest rate and no trouble when needed to move the car, staff gave us their parking space for the afternoon after we had checked out. Would definitely go there again.
Friendly,helpfull staff,breakfast good
Location. Room decor, furnishings, cleanliness. View from window.Breakfast
Good size rooms, very quiet.Very pleasent staff.
