The hotel had been recently renovated and is finished to a very high standard.... would recommend to anyone wishing to stay in/or around this area.
everything was 1st class
The hotel staff were efficient and helpful, the evening meal was of a high standard and the rooms were very comfortable The breakfast although tasty was a little like a transport cafe breakfast too much on a small plate
Building, staff nd atmosphere and price rooms need decorating especially bathrooms. Food fair.
Interesting building, lovely grounds, room was comfortable and quiet Room was a bit shabby in some respects, especially the bathroom
Nothing The room was well below standard. The first room had stains on the chair and bedspread. We booked a no smoking room and was put in a smooking one which smelt stale. We were moved after complaining, however, the new room wasn't much better. We booked out the next morning.
Very run-down & grubby. Staff apathetic and disinterested. Bar food utterly appalling.
Excellent staff. Clean modern hotel. Very comfortable bar/lounge area. Very comfortable beds. The bathrooms need refurbishment. They stand out after the major refurb everywhere else. They were still clean and fit for purpose though.
Location and price. Hotel waslarge, but seemed rather empty, and had seen better days
Expensive Internet connection. Noise from Motorway
The staff were very friendly.
Set in a beautiful quiet location.
Comfortable, pleasant surroundings. We stayed because of a friends wedding. The staff the whole day were great. During the evening time of the wedding we found the security staff quite unpleasant & rude. I was also quite surprised to see security staff at a function like this in the middle of the week. They were quite intimidating hovering around constantly. It would put me off booking a function here if that whats to be expected in the evening!!
The food was quite nice The bath was really oldfashioned and dimly lit
Most of the staff were friendly and helpful and we were given the key to our room earlier than check in, so we could get reading for the wedding. I had requested a cot for my 21months old daughter. Staff were unaware of this request and were not able to supply a cot as they run out, we had to bring a travel and cot and bedding with us from home. Also, staff said we had to pay for breakfast although this was included in the rate at the time of booking.
the food in the restaurant was superb
The food was very well presented and delicious! The service was also very good and the bed was very comfy!!!
Staff were friendly Didn't offer room service. I also had a flat tyre in the morning which looks like it was done on purpose when examined by the garage. The tyres were brand new and otherwise perfect. Although this can happen anywhere, it was disappointing to think it might have been intentional.
The room and people. The evening menu is not flexible and you have to pay for 2 courses even if you only have 1!
The bed was comfortable The TV did not work, the bathroom slanted away from you and was difficult to use the tub, no screens on the windows ( because there is no air conditioning, the windows are the only choice for ventilation).
staff very good. nothing was a chore for them
Excellent value - very clean - good location No bad points
The hotel was well located for my purposes, staff were unobtrusive, room was clean with a good bathroom. Tip: ensure you get a room away from the main road. The cooked breakfast buffet set me up nicely for the day. Do not drink the coffee at breakfast, it's only distantly related to the real thing.
ease of access from major roads network. Cleanliness
Only 2 days old everything new staff very helpful
Very helpful and friendly staff, very clean, smart-looking rooms. No refrigerator or air conditioning.
Good rooms, clean and tidy. Courteous staff. Could do with more heating in this bad weather! Cold during the night.
Hotel was everything that I would expect from Ramada. Excellent I currently stay in a former Ramada Encore hotel in Walsall with the same excellent facilities and self service breakfast at no extra cost. The only bad point would be the extra charge for breakfast.
From check in through to check out on the sunday the staff throughout the hotel were very freindly and helpfull and I have booked a further weekend break 08/08/2008 keep up the good work
The room was very warm and comfortable and the buffet breakfast was more than enough too last until lunch time The television had no sky or freeview channels
Bar and restaurant service was poor
My only negative was that my reservation hadnt been passed from booking.com to the hotel. The hotel did however honour the booking and the rate.
We were able to stay in a good hotel with our dogs. No
The staff are always friendly. On this visit the e mail from booking.com hadn't come through the whole time i was there.
service at breakfast - slow, forgot orders, dirty cups, dirty cutlery, jam pot smeared with dried ketchup, tray where jams etc stood on table was dirty - think honey , poor selection fruit, evening meal in lounge our first choices were not available, and starter was sent out with homous instead of guacamole as they had run out of that also. Bathroom smelt of old urine. Room was noisey from a TV next door / interconnecting door which was not turned off until 2am - hotel staff did not want to enter room to turn it off as guest was out so they moved my room at 00.30. charged us for full cooked breakfast instead of continental on both mornings. Also larger coach party was staying at the hotel all of whom were up at 6am making alot of noise in corridor this wasn't a problem as also had an early start but would of recommended trying to seperate coach party guests and other guests if they have got an early departure. My collegue was also woken by people on motor bikes outside her room in the early hours. and her bathroom smelt of drains on the 2nd day
Good location and very nice looking Gym was very small Food was priced high for the quality
Front desk staff were excellent The coffee for breakfast and the separate coffee bar were uniformally terrible. Training as a barrista would help them get a decent coffee out of what is a good espresso machine.
convenience having to wait over 1 hour to check into room
The gardens outside outdated interior in the room; non functioning heating
The leisure facilities
The staff were very supportive. I needed some special consideration for a guest I had invited. A very sick lady. I was able to entertain her in a private room thanks to your team. In particular a young lass called Megan. It was her innovation that made this happen. You have an excellent team at this hotel.
The leisure facilities mainly the pool area I visisted many times. Genearlly enjoyed my stay and the people who were working at the hotel were friendly and efficient. I would return wiothout hesitation.
Excellent attentive service from friendly staff, especially around bar and restaurant. Although under pressure, especially at breakfast time, the staff kept their sense of humor throughout.
We were parents of the groom and we were delighted with the venue, the wedding breakfast, the attitude and helpfulness of the staff and the facilities Kilhey Court has to offer. Rooms are a little tired looking but clean and well equipped. If I had to complain about anything, it would be that the bar in the evening was understaffed and it was said that the 20 minute wait to buy a drink was unacceptable.
That all staff spoke to you politely even when merely passing on the stairs.
The staff were great, it was my daughters birthday and they made a fuss of her and she loved it. It was so clean and relaxing, I would love to go again. everything was perfect
every one was very helpful.
I liked the location and the facilities. we stayed as part of a wedding party and thoroughly enjoyed everything the bathroom in our bedroom was ready for refurbishment, but it was fine.
ful breakfast came without mushrooms
the spa facilities and the lake behind the hotel
Vrry relaxed N/A
The hotel room we stayed in was old and tired, the breakfast was a very poor offering.
Friendly staff Dont like fag burns in carpets and smelly soft furnishings.
Clean, comfortable. Handy for town centre. Not easy to find and in a fairly unappealing location - poor lighting and condition of footpaths around hotel. Be careful if out walking!
nothing unhelpful staff , dirty rooms , overpriced
relaxed atmosphere, quiet, easy access to local and regional ammenities paying extra for breakfast, the price of these rooms should have been inclusive
Close to centre of town Sunday morning staff were sitting on food counters and picking at food. I could not believe it.
Location of hotel for shopping and visiting family Good value for money Staff very helpful Price of bar drinks seems high and food was not value for money, No vegetables with meeal, sausage & mash was exactly that!!!! Why no veg
Thay have now upgraded the Hotel and is much better as I stey here 2/3 times a year.
Room was located by lifts which was a little noisy
location and facilities unclean bath tub. the price of the room was cheaper 48hrs prior to the booking date. cheaper than the bookings.com price
Bedroom was too cold.
Convenience and value for money
Lovely swimmimg pool, very suitable for children Payment for using the swimmimg pool and towels.
friendly and helpfull staff
Nothing Kids playing football in the hotel corridor, no hot water / pressure. Rooms dated and not very warm. Furniture, fixtures and decor reminiscent of 60's / 70's. Not value for money. Breakfast basic. Poor choice of hotel. Only positive was the helpful receptionist.
Swimming pool, although very small / spa pool. There was no menu outside the restaurant to see whether it was worth going in (in the end I didn't). Also it woul have been nice to be able pay for swim facilities with the room.
Receptionist very efficient and made us feel welcome. The Hotel is quite run down with evidence of neglect and age. Could do with a re-vamp. No food available from ~ 2200hrs, which is when we checked in. Take- Away food could be ordered & delivered from local outlets.
The price. Just few quid more expensive than Formule 1, but much more comfortable. Great budget hotel! WiFi was not available in rooms - only in the reception area. Water pressure from the shower was low, Rooms - mainly clean, but some dust could be seen around the corners. Furniture is a little old.
the availability to allow pets
Friendly duty manager Breakfast disappointing. Noisy until after midnight.
Good value for money. I stayed for one night. It is quiet and peaceful. A bit far from Wigan. If I was staying for more than one night it won't be cost effective to use a taxi every time you leave the hotel. If you have a car it is never a problem!
Comfortable beds, very friendly and helpful staff. Bathrooms could do with some updating.
Decent sized room and comfortable bed Wifi facilities in room were too expensive
Proximity to my family was my No 1 priority. VFM and comfort also helped.
Friendly, helpful staff. Clean comfortable rooms. Good food.
We had a family room. It was simple but good space and clean crisp sheets. Breakfast was an extra charge.
have stayed here several times to visit boyhood friends in the area. have always found the service efficient and without fuss.
The room was bright clean and modern and priced accordingly. Staff very helpful The room was at the front of the hotel and there was noise from the road even through double glazing, better to have a room at the rear of the hotel.Breakfast menu limited
Clean hotel with friendly staff. Good breakfast Poor noise insulation between rooms and noisy heating which clanged all night.
My friend and I were impressed with the appearance of the hotel and the pleasant and well equipped room. We enjoyed the restaurant meals and were particularly pleased with the friendly and efficient service We were delighted with everything
The restaurant food with an Early Bird option. The various prices for breakfast starting at £2.99 A separate bar would be an advantage
Easy to find, good parking. Warm friendly welcome, very accomodating switching rooms for our children. Excellent clean rooms. No lounge area for guests. Rooms a little noisy.
The friendly management and staff. The food was good and the general standards were high. The menu in the folder in the room was grubby and needs changing more frequently.
Breakfast, car parking, location Small washbasin in bathroom. Lightweight duvet. No customers lounge
Tim Good at reception Due to cumputer failure total mess up with payiny bill
Location convenient, room was clean, bed comfy, duvet excellent. Bathroom fan noisy, towels soft. Generally good. Unfortunately, the place for breakfast did not serve hot meals after 8.45, despite information stated breakfast was from 7-9am. Would recommend if this was sorted out. Cooked breakfast not available after 8.45am. Breakfast was stated as being available between 7 am and 9 am. Unfortunately, the place for breakfast did not serve hot meals after 8.45, although we had been informed breakfast was from 7-9am. Thankfully we hadn't paid in advance for it! We would therefore not recommend this place if expecting a full breakfast, which we were.
Wigan North Premier Inn has friendly helpful staff and it is in a convenient easy to get to location. It is quiet and the accommodation is clean and of a high standard. We enjoyed our stay and would go their again. No
Excellent service, communication and facilities None
Excellent, friendly, genuine, attentive staff day and night. Even though the adjacent restaurant pub was closed for refurbishment the staff had gone out of their way to forewarn me and offer alternative accommodation. And at the £50 a night level offered this time Premier Inns are great, reliable places to stay. But at the ludicrous prices they have been trying to charge over the past 12 months they are way out of their league - we've cut our private and business use of P Inns by 90+% as a result. Nothing - everthing as expected.
All good, receptionist was vey polite and helpful Breakfast was over-priced at £7.50 each no sky channels.
The hotel was convenient, as it was close to the venue (Haigh Hall) for the wedding we were attending, the receptionist was very helpfull . It was right next door to a very busy Petrol Station
Good value for money. Spotlessly clean. Very friendly staff - nothing too much trouble - very helpful arranging a taxi for us. Only one issue - the window was closed but we could still hear the traffic because of a slight gap in the fitting although it didnt affect the temperature of the room.
Close to motorway. Great breakfast. Average pub grub for an evening meal. Food very reasonably priced as were the drinks. Has anybody found how to get the £29.00 promotion. It always seems to be available somewhere else!!
the staff were brilliant especially gemma, she was helpful and kind as were the other members of staff
The Hotel staff ,cleanliness and quite.
Great value for money. Good location. Not too noisy. Off road parking. Easy atmosphere. Big en-suite room. Free wi-fi. Early breakfast. Friendly staff. Dining room closes too early. Basic furniture. Small bathroom. No electric shaver points. Limited tv stations.
Very friendly and helpful staff, answered all the questions I had to ask very effiecently
Non good .......chinese takeaway next door saved the night!!! Shower dripped all night, air freshener in very small room went off loudly every 10 mins 24-7. Wardrobe was collapsing, pubic hairs in the bath, cobwebs above the bed. Kettle on the floor, smallest room ever, never mind open the window for fresh air...wrong move gutter completley full of dog ends I mean thousands of them and pidgeon poop all over the window sill.
Nice small hotel, comfortable and very cheap!
Had booked a standard room but only had a basic room available. Walls thin could hear neighbours. Difficult to find room, no information displayed as to which direction to go. Alot of stairs and dark corridors. No lift. Few car parking spaces and very difficult to manovour.
1-It was in a very convenient location. 2-When we left. The bathroom, Very dark coloured bedding, curtain hanging off the runners.
Friendly staff, Good pub serving food and drinks next door, good breakfast, great value, good size rooms and comfy beds.
Location and usual premier inn quality.
No phone in room
Our stay was a plesent one and the hotel met our needs well
Clean, not too far from football ground Price
breakfast facilities were excellent. plenty of choice kids complained about the size of their beds, ended up sleeping in our bed.
Room cleanliness and all appliances in working order. The additional bed was installed very quickly by the hotel staff. Check in. There seems to be a lack of communication between yourselves and the hotels. We had booked a room for 2adults + 2 children on arrival we where advised that the room specified by the booking company was a double room. There`was also concerns by the hotel regarding the breakfasts, included or not included.
The rooms were spacious and the staff were friendly. They didn't give fresh towels everyday.
Not the most prepossessing location but it suited me well. The staff were very helpful when applied to.
I wouldnt pick any other hotel , its premier inns every time for me, I recomend them to everyone I meet, keep up the good work, None
It was warm quiet and clean. The location was handy for St Helens and the postcode took me directly to the Hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Only cheep pub food on-site, service like a canteen and only one other restaurant in the area.
the staff very helpful rooms comfortable. location excellent to visit other places of interes shower needs a bit more power
Hotel very basic, restaurant for breakfast dirty, breakfast poor
Spent an evening at Haydock races.
food in the restaurant was ok.
Good staff clean rooms Bar to small
room was large and clean shower facility was very poor, no pressure and very little water
The room was very good. Big, clean. Bed was very confy. Room was quiet. Hotel far away from town. You have to get a taxi everywhere or rent a car. No real restaurant available at the hotel to have a drink and chill but that will not put me off from staying there again next time I'm in Wigan.
location for area we needed to be in was very good. Staff were very helpful, the room was very clean excellent price. On the whole very happy with everything
Hotel staff were very friendly if a little too corporate. Rooms are clean spacious and everything you would expect from a Premier Inn. Wasn't too keen on the restaurant next door but breakfast was fine.
It was exceptionally quiet and the beds were comfortable. We had a great night's sleep.
Close by for the reason we visited to see family. and easy to get to from the Motor way
Convenient location with easy access to and from Motorway. Clean and comfortable room. Food at Tay Barns restaurant next door was acceptable but not great.Have stayed at Premier Inns with better Restaurant facilities.
Nice staff, good location for where i needed to be Restaurant was not to my taste
