The hotel staffs are very friendly and the location was quite convenient. The shower room was quite small.
Litt bet Nothing
We booked a triple room with Anker Hostel but was upgraded to a triple room at Anker Hotel. The staff at Anker Hotel is very friendly and almost everyone wears a smile on their face, especially Marina. The shower area and the wc should be separated with a shower screen. After shower, the entire toilet floor is wet.
nothing the reception is not careful and polite.they gave me wrong key of bedroom for 8 although I paid extra for the room for 4. it took 2 hours to make them understand their mistake.the rooms are either dirty or not warm enough as it was minus 20 outside. bottom side of the bed was broken. it was inevitable to fall down if you sit that side. All in all location not the best. breakfast not value for the price and in another building. the rooms are ragged.wireless does not work in room even sometimes in lobby as well.
Close to central railway station, easy to find. Personal at reception desk in not friendly, looking too busy. Breakfast unreasonably expensive.
It was nice, and worth a money payed for it. Everything was just ok
In center of Oslo
Very nice and clean place, near to the center town and really comfortable for every user. Maybe too expensive for a hostel!
Strong confusion between Anker Hostel and Anker Hostel, in the phases of reservation and check in.
Relatively cheap No AC, dryer didn't dry clothes
Excellent location, close to metro station and museums Great apartment option for families with more than 4 people When arriving to the hotel, bathroom floor was not clean, and no cleaninig personnel. I cleaned myself Restaunrant and bar, closed too early
Once moved from our original smelling and poorly ventilated room on the second floor, to our new room on the 6th floor, we were statisfied. The room on the 6th floor had a large balcony, much larger window for ventilation, and less of a "stuffy" kitchen smell. The room was comfortable, very modern and new, clean, comfy bed, good kitchen. The first room we recieved on the 2nd floor had a yucky smell of previously cooked food. Their was only one small window (none in the kitchen) so it was difficult to ventilate...no carpet..cold floor. The hallways are poorly lit.
Handy for metro (5 min. Into city centre)
Very clean & smart. Friendly staff. The room itself
Furniture was nice enough. Three separate beds as promised. Room was too hot to sleep. No AC and fan didn't function well. Very few outlets that also didn't seem to function properly. Beds were not comfortable.
Location close to city centre and River Aker. Good public transport. Filling breakfast. As expected much less noisy than in recent reviews during refurbishment which was largely complete. Cooked breakfast options disappointing especially rubbery scrambled eggs.
Great Location, only 5-10min walk into town, also situated by a tram stop. Is in between a new trendy bar/restaurant area and town. Nice warm rooms for Cold Oslo! Breakfast was good and is served until 11am which is a bonus.
Efficient toaster available at breakfast - not always the case in Norway!
Everything is as advertised or even better. Some of the staff members look inexperienced. Their English is not very good and they apparently don't know all procedures very well. Note that other staff members are very experienced and were very helpful with everything.
Terrific value in Oslo. Walking distance to Munch museum (very close), central station, as well as downtown and harborfront area. Good, affordable (for Oslo) restaurants nearby. Hotel's extensive breakfast was much appreciated given high prices for food in Oslo. Taxi stand right out front and very close tram service was extremely convenient. Our room was plain, clean, and provided everything we needed. We were surprised by how quiet the room was, even being right across from the elevator. I would definitely stay at the Anker again in the future.
There was alot of renovationg happening so the hotel was constantly extreemely noisy. Plus they began with the drilling and Jack Hammering at 9am on a Saturday morning! We were very annoyed by this and would not stay there again.
Good breakfast and location Rebuilding work in hotel was noisy and outside the advertised hours of 11-1600 (0745-2100 on one occasion)
Breakfast selection good. Good value for.money
A nice 3 star hotel central to downtown oslo good breakfast, and staff friendly. No bad points that come to mind.
clean hotel. helpful staff. very nice brekfast selection. easy access to city centre asked for a jug of ice water at nite time, receptionist was only able to provide a glass of water and no ice. ice is a fairly basic thing to provide, day or nite.
the staff are friendly, the rooms are clean It was our first trip and first stop in Norway in our life, our expierence with parking by Anker Hotel was absolutely terrible and we will not recommend this place to anyone else we care and will never visit this hotel again. Ankel hotel has a parking place BELONGS to a private parking company. But on the entrance of the parking it's written clearly: Q-Park Anker Hotel. The parking lot welcomed us with a fine of 80 euro, while we were trying to pay the parking fee in the hotel, in about 10 minues before we returned to the hotel. Anker Hotel claimed they are seperated with the parking lot and asked us to complain to the parking company. How can a hotel list its name on the parking place without being responsible for the parking management? We have to pay this extra 80 euro for the 10 mins absence while Anker Hotel claims nothing to do with it. Therefore we regret our stay there and will never come back again.
location was great. breakfast was poor and needed to wait for the coffee very long. Rooms need renovation badly.
I liked the location of the hotel it was very central and the staff we very friendly. The foo was good and the hotel was very clean
The location there has gone a lot of things wrong for us at the grand hotel unfortunately. there has not been room cleaning the whole weekend. the video system dind't work proper and this could not be solved. the spa we couldn't make use of with our 2 1/2 year old, because he should be 3 years. unfortunately they could only inform us about this after we were dressed in our bading suits. the hotel staff wasn't very cooperating.
The carpets in the lobby were lovely! The staff at reception when I checked in were not very helpful. I was waiting to be attended to and they dealt with three other people who came in after me. There was also three fire alarms going off in the afternoon. Each time I followed the fire instructions and went downstairs but there were no staff there to advise me when it was safe to go back in or what had happened. When I was leaving via the stairs the third time, there was a workman vacuuming the staircase and he told me not to worry and that it was nothing. Not a very professional attitude from any of the staff.
Nothing. Not as represented. Old Hotel not kept up.
This is a warm hotel which seems to appreciate its customers. The room was an elegant modern design filled with quality. It was attractive and stylish and contained a very comfortable bed. We really liked this hotel and will stay there again.
location poor business center (only 1 computer, tiny) poor barkeeper in Grand Cafe: did not know his sherries nor acquavit: served both different sherries and aquavit than asked for. door to french balcony could not be closed properly letting in a lot of noice during the night.
Comfort, breakfast Noise during the night from outside.
Excellent Hotel and superb staff
Close to city center and bus/metro stations
Bathroom was very small and old.
service of the people
The breakfast. A little bit expensive for the type of room you get. The price could easily be around NOK 900. That would be a reasonable rate.
This hotel is a bit old a not modern at first sight, but comfortable and functional, ther is all you can need including free cofee in the hall or garage. The staff is kind and helpful. The location is also very good.
Relatively central location Reception staff were unhelpful and surly.
Location and Staff No Air Conditioning and it seemed a bit run down.
The staff tried within there ability to accommodate our requests. The breakfast was good. Compared to US standard, this hotel would probably not receive more than a two star
a comfortable large room + very good breakfast not applicable
Handsome building with interesting archietectural history in gracious, easily accessible residential area on westside of Oslo. Peaceful and quiet. Close to local trams. Buses, good restuarants and Vigeland Sculpture garden. Modernized rooms are well-decorated in spare contemporary Scandinavian design. Our room for two was spotless and had excellent toilet\shower facilities. Abundant, although standard, breakfast buffet and very good evening buffet included in price of hotel. Juices, coffee and tea available all day. There are 3-4 well furnished, comfortable, smoke free lounges and an outdoor terrace.. Free wireless internet throughout hotel. Good for business as well as leisure travellers and families. Main desk clerks were a bit harried, not as friendly as staff providing breakfast or evening buffet who were attentive and helpful.
Nice and quiet area, on walking distance of the city center. Not like any big business hotel, but much more cosy. Even though the hotel was not fully booked, I was offered the room with a very small window and the worst view you can imagine.
see above. We were put an a handicaproom.
Good beds , we slept really good Bookings said I could have reserved handicapped parking. Hotel said when I arrived Bookings has error as to parking on its site. Since they do not have reserved parking.and this is Bookings fault not the hotels.
The relaxed atmosphere and pleasant staff. The breakfast. We were unable to attend the evening meals. We did wonder if our room would be warm enough in deep winter, especially the bathroom. The wall heater did not work on the full range od settings.
Evening meal was more than light, it was excellent! There was a mention about fitness centre and we thought it's a gym but it wasn't.
Toilet/shower room tiny. Could do with at least a few wall hooks for towels.
Quiet, unobstrusive atmosphere Even for a single room, rather small with eaves further limiting space on 4th floor
coffe-tea-water free all day long!!! self-made wafles in the afternoon!!! free evening-buffet!!!! big room!!! very nice decoration!!! very friendly staff!!!! very quiet location!!! the best hotel ever!!!!
Staff, location, cleanliness..value.
the breakfast buffet, nice hotel, clean room and ok with space, close to the underground. staff was friendly but they could be more informed about transports and how to get around the best way in the city, to be able to give a better service.
Breakfast was great and the staff was full of sightseeing tips.
Nice rooms The hotel is in a desolate space with nothing to eat near by except for room service and a piza place almost next door. The parking suggested by the hotel costed us more than the room rent for a night!! The 175 NOK that they say on their website is only if you keep it for more than 24 hours and dont take out your car at all
the staff was very friendly, the structure was modern
Excellent breakfast, nice room. Some lights in room didn't work.
Nice hotel with a decent restaurant. Right across the street from the Metro. Next to University, a lot of congestion in the area on weekdays.
good hotel, high value for money, but far from the city center.
one of the receptionists who seemed to be a manager was very helpful and the breakfast was good On arrival the receptionist misled us on the parking arrangements which led to unnecessary cost. No hand towels, no bathmat, no glasses in the bathroom. On return in the evening access to hotel's part of garage closed. Drove to reception. Receptionist incapable of telling us how to open it. Eventually entered on exit of someone else to find access door to hotel out of order. Trapped for 10 minutes before finding external exit. Walked to reception. He knew door out of order (so why didn't he warn us) but claimed to be too busy to come and open it when we rang door bell despite no other clients in sight. Only comment was "these things happen". In short he was totally indifferent to the problem.
Breakfast was an amazing addition. There is a grocery next to the hotel if you are in a budget. Staff was helpful trying to get us to certain locations around the city. Kind of far from city center. I think 5 train stops away. Very little to complain about.
The food was very good My room was on the top floor and the was lot of noise coming from the floor above, annoying.
the staff it was very kindly and friendly....The room it was very clean... nothing
Easy access to metro (across street), big breakfast, many amenities of large chain hotel. Reasonable price for Oslo. SAS bus and hotel two separate things - needed to hike 10 minutes with luggage to highway to get SAS bus to airport.
Stig the Receptionist at front desk who tried to rectify the problems with our rooms My wife and I arrived on the 17th August 2015, and on attempting to check-in we were told the "computer system" was not working and therefore we we not able to check in. We were told to either wait (they could not provide an estimate on how long it would take). After a 15-min wait we were checked in "manually". As an American Carlson member, I presented my Club Carlson Gold card, but it wasn't accepted because my trip was booked through Kayak! Nevertheless after a short delay we were in our room. Immediately we noticed that the carpet in the room was dirty, and there were 2-single beds (as opposed to a double as we booked) Credit to the front desk staff who promptly reassigned us to a "newly refurbished" room. The room was a marked improvement over the last, and we happily settled in; unpacking our suitcases and preparing for an afternoon of sightseeing. On return in the evening, we prepared for the night and around 20:00 we tried to lock the door. The door lock did not work. A call to the front desk and a couple of minutes later someone from maintenance was at our door. I explained that the door wouldn't lock from the inside and he insisted that the lock was working. I was a bit taken back by his curt response, but nevertheless invited him to try. What followed next had me flabbergasted! The maintenance employee closed the door, and using his body weight proceeded to to yank on the door handle until he could engage the lock. Curtly he replied, "There it is locked". I attempted to unlock door by turning the lock itself and when I couldn't he demonstrated how to unlock the door. Standing on his toes and again using all his body weight he pressed down on the door handle until the lock disengaged. Again the curt response, "There it is unlocked". I couldn't believe it! Visibility annoyed at this point, when I pointed out that locking the door in such a manner would be a fire hazard (not to mention my wife will never be able to unlock the door if I locked it), he suggested that I actually didn't need to lock the door as no one from the outside could get in without a key. In response I stated that any member of staff could enter if the door was unlocked, to which he acknowledged was true and said I could either call the front desk to arrange a new room, lock the door as he demonstrated, or leave the door unlocked; but there was nothing he could do to fix the lock. Another call to the front desk and we were offered a room on the 20th floor. So after repacking we moved to our 3-room for the day. From then on the only issues we faced were with our room keys. Every time we left our room, the room key would not let us back in. So we had to make our way to the front desk where they would make a new key. Every time without fail!
Breakfast The room was old and not entirely clean, staying at this hotel was a true disappointment, not value for money at all!!
I stayed 2 nights for a city break and found the hotel fine in particular I found the sauna a welcome relief after touring the city all day. The breakfast buffet had everthing you would want with good quality ingredients. It was a good location just a 5 min walk to the main street karl johans. my only fault was the room was a little small (twin queen were 2 single beds although comfortable) with no tea coffee making facility which is a pity especially when walking around the city all you look forward to is a warm cup of coffee to relax in your room, the hotel lobby was dated the chairs were quiet worn and the leisure facilities (pool) was freezing!!
Very nice breakfast in nice room The interior of the rooms is "dated"
Breakfast buffet was nice, good location Didn't really have air conditioning -- our room was really hot which was disruptive
We don't know what we would have liked because our reservation was cancelled on the morning of our flight to Oslo because of a hotel workers strike. Obviously, we didn't like the need to find another hotel at the very last minute.
exceptionally good was the breakfast, very wide variety of anything you can wish for and great service( michael from the brekfast service was very helpful and gave a great service!). also the view from the hotelbar is great! the "business class" rooms were a little bit old fashioned and run down, but clean and everythign was there.
The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The swimming pool and sauna had free lockers and plenty of fluffy white towels. The breakfast was absolutely amazing. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others. The booking details were totally correct. Thank you. No.
Very slow/non-existant Room Service.
The roof bar and the location with a nice walk to the city center.
The staff was excellent - they helped me recover my kindle when I accidentally left it on the airport shuttle. They also helped me with directions and provided assistance in finding my way around Oslo. The breakfast buffet was very good as well. Room temperature was a bit warm for my taste - the ac was apparently not on yet (early spring), so I could not make the room cooler.
Friendly staff, nice room and very clean.Good location. We decided to have a meal on the night we arrived in the dining room, waiter said how good the food was,he took our order and we ordered a bottle of wine then he returned to say all that was available was a burger. Not good for first impression.
Rooms were very comfortable with helpful staff. The breakfast was a nice variety of foods.
Saga Hotel is a very stylish and comfortable boutique hotel, in a quiet and elegant area of Oslo, fifteen minutes walk from the national theatre, the palace and the main shopping street. (The train from the airport stops at the National Theatre and taxis are available, or without a lot of luggage it's a 15 minute walk - alternatively there are trams from Oslo Central Station). The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was excellent and my room was very comfortable and quiet - I was able to sleep with the windows open without any noise from the street. I was meeting up with Norwegian friends and after calling in to the hotel to take me out they were very impressed and will now be recommending the hotel to their business colleagues. I'll certainly stay here again on my next visit to Oslo. Apart from excellent breakfast facilities the hotel doesn't have a restaurant or room service - as a single traveler I prefer not to dine out alone, but as I was meeting friends each day this wasn't a problem on this trip. There are lots of restaurants nearby.
friendly staff hypocritical staff
The breakfast was very good and hotel staff too. Everything was good.
Nice hotel with exellent staff and a good athmosphere. and also near to the city center
The room is spacious enough for us, a family with 2 parents and 2 children. There are also play room for my children during our stay at the hotel. I also like the hotel because it has free parking facility for the guests
quiet place, close to supermarket and bus to the city centre breakfast time: should be opened later than 9.30 during the week, at least until 10.30.
The staff was polite. The distance far fromOslo
The hotel is a little far from Oslo (about 25 min by Bus or 15 min by car) but there is a bus station in front of the hotel and it is very easy to reach the city center. By car you have a good parking lot. The staff was really kind and helpful. In the last day we left early and they provide us with some breakfast boxes to take away. The brakfast buffet is excellent.
nice hotel with frindly stuff. perferk brekfast and clean rooms with a good choice of products in the minibar
Restaurent not good. Buffet Breakfast, several hot mealt was cold.
have stayed before- very accommodating staff, excellent rooms- good bus link to oslo centre- local cinema and shopping arcade. easy access to local hospital if needed and also lillestrom town good breakfast but lacking fish dishes which have been in other Thon hotels
The place is quite ice with a wonderful breakfast and competitive rates, but... The hotel uses a rope style security chain on doors that is child proof. My mother Is a strong retiree but couldn't open the contraption She became so afraid, she pulled at it so hard, the system failed only because it is simply nailed into a thin decorative door frame. Thank goodness no fire for those trying to get out, or any burglar who can easily break in (if he has the strength of an 85 year old.
Good location Old facilities
Easy to be reached from the airport Rooms connected from one door. All noises can be heard! Old rooms
Appalling. Arrived at 12.30am to be told there were no rooms for us and they had moved us to a hotel 1/2 an hr away by taxi. They told us to pay for taxi also. I paid this hotel for accomodation but next morning when the hotel we were sent to called they denied that i had paid the bill. I would now not use the website or recomend to any one else in the business.
not far away from the city centre Oslo much too noisy in the restaurant/bar (Saturday night)
convenience Whole place seemed to be shut up when we arrived at ( oclock on the Sundfay and we had not been told in the literature to expect this.
Perfect location, nice and service minded staff all over.
Close proximity to train station and airport Right in the center city very busy lobby and breakfast area
We had a clean and comfortable room. The view from great - we were on the 16th floor. Very helpful staff.
Very well designed and friendly staff No problems with this hotel
Good food Location Great view Fast service...minus the bar. Bathrooms a bit dated. Wifi was spotty. Business center computers so old they weren't comparable with any up-to-date programs, so I was not able to conduct business as I wished.
Location was great, breakfast was really enjoyable, great selection of food. Swimming pool could have been warmer.
Great location right next to the rail station. Very nice hotel and room. Excellent breakfast. No power plugs near the bed. Bed only had bedding for 1 person, even through we specified 2 at reservation and check-in.
The roomview of the city (floor 30), decoration of the room, and the facilities of the business room; good room for a couple with a baby, nespresso machine, free pay TV, free breakfast in the room... The door of the bathroom does not work properly. It is close to the central station (good for travel and airport) but crowed.
We usually book better hotels which the plaza is. But the one advantage for this hotel is location. It is within 500 yards of the main train and bus terminal and a short walking distance to the heart of Oslo and the City Sentrum.
Arrived late, got bags and extra bed delivered. Breakfast room service - awesome meal! Great location Strange drunk or druggie people outside hotel between hotel and train station. More than other EU capitols, all begging for money.
Huge hotel with all pros and cons. While the halls might make you feel like in a submarine, the rooms especially those of the higher floors offer a beautiful view and are also with a great comfort. Staff is extremely friendly, restaurant & bar in the 34th level is a must.
Large, well appointed room, great view, free Internet, free movies, very good breakfast buffet. Excellent location for bus and rail travel.
friendly, clean fine room, tasty breakfast with good coffee (!), superb location for tourist, too noisy at street side
the location of the hotel is very good...Besides we had a room at the back so we were not disturbed by any noise.... We arrived at the hotel quite late and paid for the room straight away...When we arrived in the room, it was actually set up for one person, so we had to go down again to the reception and were given an extra duvet...Basically we had to make our own bed at 23.00!!! And we realised the following morning that we only had one towel too, which was very practical... After half an hour we were in the hotel, I remembered that the receptionnist hadn't given me a receipt when I paid for the room...So I went downstairs and asked for it but he could barely remember I had already paid!!! We stayed at a Thon hotel in Bergen and Trondheim too ( and they were very good!) but the Thon Cecil Oslo was by far the most expensive and it was a real disappointment...I hope this was just bad luck...
The staff was very friendly, and made me feel very comfortable, but I did not stay long enough to appreciate all the services the hotel would offer.
Really clean, modern finish. Having warned them there were vegans in our party it would have been nice if they had at least had some soya milk in the kitchen.
An established hotel in a lovely parkland setting with Oslo fjord close by. Excellent helpful staff and large room with comfortable beds. Nothing to complain about but the hotel is quite old now and some of the furniture and fittings could do with replacing. However, this added to the charm of the place.
The time I booked, all Oslo was booked, and that was the only reasonable option I could find. The bed was very uncomfortable. The location is really not for a tourist; it is outside Oslo.
Comfortable beds Location not ideal. No pool or spa.
nearby bus stop very bad breakfast buffet (empty bowles, no service, no refills, etc.)
This hotel is close to Oslo Downtown
We booked this hotel as our other choices were unavailable due to a conference. We knew it was not centrally located, but we did not expect to find a hotel with such limited dining and drinking choices. Luckily town was only 10 mins away by bus. Buffet breakfast was poor to middling. There was a huge section of unavailable tables (reserved) but noone filled them before breakfast finished.Hotel decor is very dated, with patchy, worn out carpet. The elevator was disturbingly rickety. The "beach" was in disuse, even though it was the middle of June. This hotel is more suitable for conferences etc, but without some renovation, we wouldn't revisit it.
The restaurant The location is difficult to find. The amenities are sub par and the rooms are in desperate need of remodeling
Breakfast Buffet was good. Location is good if your only interest is to be near the Telenor group headquarters. Room very small, worn out, & cold. Bed very small and uncomfortable. Bathroom was dirty, especially shower curtain
Neigbourhood - quiet, nice place with a lot of greens. Close to sea. Compact, narrow hotel room. Poor ventilation / ac. Old fashioned design from early seventies.
A comprehensive buffet breakfast inclusive Lack of coffee shop facilities/snack bar as no room coffee making facilities are available
Very friendly and helpful staff. Well furnished and maintained. Bright and airy. Good general comfort and cleanliness and a really nice location for a city hotel. The room was rather too basic for the price - no kettle or iron and very small. Based on my own recent experience an equivalent room would be cheaper in London, Paris, Munich, New York or San Fransisco. I did like the hotel though.
Very easy to get to the city
They get the job done. Good breakfast, good location, good staff, good price. The hotel is a little run down, but overall was worth the price.
Very central - location The rooms. We got 327 which had the shower and the toilet in the same space. It was a minuscule room with zero space to breath. One morning, unfortunately, when walking out of the room we found feces in the hallway. We reported it to the front desk. Although, it is understandable that was not the hotel's fault, one expects to be compensated in some sort for the unsightly inconvenience.
Staff greeted us personally and were so helpful. Facilities excellent and breakfast was served until 11am so could have a lie in x N/A
Great location. Within walking distance of Central Station. Located near all city shops & restaurants and bars. Free Wi-fi. I know it's Oslo and things are expensive but for the price I would have expected a better standard of room. It was basic. Paying for location I presume.
Really good location for train and easy to get too. A little bit too touristy for us but it was very convenient. Breakfast buffet is really good. Hotel lounge was very comfortable if you have to check out early and needed a place to rest before your flight. Bathroom was small and no real shampoo.
Perfect location near the King's Palace. Unfortunately, our room was right over a bar with an extremely loud band playing till 2:30 am. If we hadn't had suitcases unpacked, we would have asked to be moved. Very short night of sleep.
The fourth floor breakfast room serves a very complete offering. Nice touch is that the menu varies slightly day-to-day.
My friend and I just returned home from Staying in Oslo. The Best Western Karl Johan was truly a great find! It is in an unbeatable location next to many restaurants and attractions. It only took us a few minutes to visit City Hall (Noble Peace Area), pier to fjord cruise or Museum Island, National Theater, Parliament, Ice Skating, and Subway to Airport/Skiing. 10 minutes away was the fort, king/queen palace (changing of the guard), and Opera House. The staff all spoke English and were very helpful pre and during trip. They took the time to answer all of my questions prior to visiting Oslo and while staying at their hotel. Breakfast was perfect! First of all, food in Oslo is expensive. Having breakfast included was a major perk. They had quite a variety of items to choose from. Overall, I can't wait to go back to Oslo again. Best Western Karl Johan would definitely be my choice of hotel again. Wish they had a fitness center, but everything else was excellent.
Most everything was OK. -The WC itself had, shall we say, clear signs of not being cleaned. The Word "sorry" was never uttered from the staff upon being informed of this. -At 11.57 there comes a knock on the door, just as i was about to leave the room, "sir, why haven't you checked out yet?" Very uneccesary. Heavy vibration from the ventiation system. Almost like on a large ship at sea, I happen to like ships, so it didn't destry my sleep.
Location Smell from kitchen in rooms in back side, disco music "booms" late in the night, very late (3 PM) possible check in.
Convenient location and very quiet (I have stayed in a number of hotels in central Oslo and had issues with street noise, but this was very peaceful). Enjoyable breakfast provided. Rooms were very basic (e.g., no shampoo etc in bathroom). Decoratively, it is an impressive building but the interior looks quite "tired". Felt expensive for what it was, but reflects high cost of Oslo hotels.
We were given a room upgrade, which was very nice. The room was spacious and comfortable. It was a bit far from the station, but the T-bane was nearby.
nice decor, reasonable sized room, resonably priced (by Norwegian standards), nice view from room of park across the street, free tee and coffee machine in lobby, free internet in lobby
Breakfast and room confort. Not so close to town center.
Good equipment of the room, rather good breakfasts, close to the center
the coffee/ hot chocolate/ hot tea dispenser and two or three computers available for guest. Very nice of them :-) the hot drinks help us keep abit of warm in the cold weather on our way out. Breakfast was good! most of time, so far we experience hotel door lock once close. but this hotel's doesn't. Both good and bad, cos if we had not realised that, we would have left the door unlock when we go out.
Central located The view fra to room - there was a construction outsite the window!
I liked the up to date rooms - though the bathroom was very small The breakfast could have had a nicer selection of fresh fruit
Value for money and central location. One staff member on check out was rude and not competent to carry out this function.
The environment and the staff.
Great Breakfast--given the expensiveness of the city, it made lunch unnecessary
The faboulous breakfast The mattresses could have been a bit more substantial.
The adjoining bar/restaurant was good. Enjoyable breakfast. No. Hotel was fine.
Clean, comfortable Complicate to reach
Room was nice and clean and staff was friendly and helpfull. Window needed repair and should not be opened. And after three nights it had not been fixed.
The restaurant was uniquely decorated and created a nice atmosphere. Very friendly staff.
All the staff was really nice and helpful Way too expensive.
Rooms were nice enough. Noise!! There is construction in the street and if you have a family room, they are all opposite a nightclub/bar. We moved rooms for the second night but was still noisy from the airconditioning and the neighbours of the hotel. First room had no hot water for shower in the morning. Extra bed we were given had broken slats so had to put mattress on floor. Staff couldn't make a decision without calling the manager every time.
The hotels proximity to Lillestrom city centre. The ongoing construction work outside of the hotel.
Nice and easy
A good location, comfortable
