Pros: It was wonderful in every way. A real treat. We will definitely stay again. Thank you
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent bed and breakfast, very friendly and helpful hosts. Would happily return, and really appreciated them having air conditioning in the current heatwave.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great bed with lovely linen. Rooms were beautifully decorated with everything we needed. Lots of attention to small details in the rooms (bathrobe, slippers. cotton wool etc) and fresh coffee as we arrived. The hosts were very friendly and helpful letting us check in early for a wedding. And the breakfast was delicious with local produce. A great place to stay
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely comfortable room excellent breakfast
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place to stay, the hosts have thought of everything to make this a home from home, from a pot of fresh tea on arrival to homemade chocolates. Breakfast was also fresh and delicious.
Cons: We were surprised how busy the main road was - our bedroom overlooked it and it was very noisy, even during the night.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Everything about the accommodation including the welcome from the property owner who did all he could to please including fresh coffee, homemade biscuits and chocolates on arrival. Quality of the breakfast was top notch.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I have to say that this place is just AMAZING, one of the nicest places I have ever stayed. It is beautiful, decorated with taste. It is modern and cute but has great decoration and vintage touches. It is perfect, peaceful and very romantic. Our room was big, impeccable, extremely clean. I just loved every detail, and all of them were lovely, from the beautiful, clean soft bed linens, bathrobes and towels to the comfy fluffy perfect pillows. The mattress was also extremely comfy. Free Homemade biscuits and chocolates in your room, courteasy bottled water drink, minifridge in the room. They also have recommendations on places to eat which provide discount to Barn´s guests. I completely fell in love with the atmosphere. The bathroom was also very pretty, modern and the rain shower was great. The toiletries (shampoo, shoer gel and hand soap) were products from the BeeKind line. There was also air conditioning and heating. Breakfast was also perfect, it was a brunch. They cooked us the most tasty full English breakfast we have ever eaten and I had the best French toast with Mapple Syrup ever. They also provided us with other options like homemade sweets, croissants, preserves, cheese and cold cuts, all local produce, granola, yogurt and strawberries. The Yorkshire tea was very tasty. They also had juices. The owners were so nice and atent to our every need. There’s free parking inside the property. The wifi connection was fast, easy and without interrumptions, with a Wi-fi repeater for each room. The town is very close to York by car, but it is also on the centre of the village, Monk Fryston, and it is not very touristy, which it´s perfect to experience the genuine Yorkshire and rest. It was one of the best stays of our whole life, and the price per night for two persons is a bargain. We definitely are going to come back and I´m going to recommend the place to anyone I know. Also, we had no problems with the payment, the taxes or the check-in or checkout.
Cons: We liked everything, nothing to complain about.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: You have to look twice to find it although is in the middle of the town. Once you found it you will be very welcome, perhaps get some home made sweets and a coffee or tee. The accommodation is spotless clean and very comfortable.
Cons: Check the local pubs if they serve food
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is one of the nicest places I have stayed. The host are attentive, the accommodation is of the highest standard with home made biscuits in your room, drink and biscuits on arrival, beds which you sink into, recommendation on places to eat which provide discount when stopping at the barn, and then finally the breakfast. The selection is better than any group chain hotels with organic and local produce always available. This ranges from muesli to local honey. Its a pleasure to stay and I personally travel 17 miles from the office to do so. Don't stay anywhere else, or you'll be disappointed!
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Top notch room, well above standard expected.
Cons: Quaint, quiet and cosy

Rossington Hall - Doncaster - Building
7
9.2 Excellent (240 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Rossington Hall is a grade II listed building and has recently undergone a breath-taking transformation, returning the Hotel and its gardens to its former Victorian glory. We are discretely set in 250 acres of this country estate. The estate is also home to the once hidden 'Italian Sunken Garden', the 'Victorian Rose Garden' and surrounding woodlands. Rossington Hall was built in 1882 by the wealthy and highly respected Streatfield family as their family home. After years of neglect the current owner is passionately restoring the building with each and every architectural feature being rebuilt, copied or restored to re-capture the atomsphere of living n the era of elegance, inspried by true Victorian morals and values. With this inspiration the focus is on ensuring we are able to assist you in creating a magical experience during your stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The history was interesting. The food was banging the staff were lovely and the house was beautiful.
Cons: The only thing I'd change is a bit of a craft beer selection but that's because I'm picky.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The bed was ok
Cons: Place was very dirty (not the bathroom that was clean). Could write name in dust and hall carpets in dire need of vacuuming. Curtains were all over the floor and not properly attached at top. Was very disappointed! Having read other reviews expected better. Suspect some reviews are fake - especially the one word sum up with no other comments. The road to the house was VERY VERY potholed. The amazing, huge bath/shower was very dangerously slippy and difficult to get in or out of.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel in a lovely setting. The staff were all really friendly and helpful - they were attentive without being overbearing. You won't get better service than this anywhere else. Nice menu for evening meal. The food was delicious and well presented.
Cons: We were in the least expensive room - a gorgeous room but has no outside window and it was warm in the heat. However there was an electric fan in the room so it was comfortable to sleep.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything - rooms gorgeous, atentive staff.. everything you could ask for in a hotel! Please take the chance to stay! We didnt want to leave!
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were very impressive, the staff were more than welcoming.
Cons: The breakfast was very under cooked in-fact I think that the whole breakfast was done in a microwave. It was cooked through but not very pleasant looking.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: we stayed as was attending the races. gorgeous hotel with very large rooms that are decorated to high standard in keeping with the history of the building. our bathroom was very big with a fantastic bath. we had a large bed that was one of the best I have ever slept on in a hotel. The staff were friendly and the breakfast menu was a great selection.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The building has been restored and is in good order with careful choice of furniture and decoration for the period. The staff were lovely and made us feel very welcome. Even though we had a few issues when we arrived the staff remained pleasant and attentive and worked to resolve the issues. The grounds were lovely and peaceful, it was great to see the resident peacocks roaming around the walled garden. The breakfast we had in the morning was first class and deserves a mention.
Cons: When we arrived the cleanliness of the room was not up to scratch, but after discussion with the manager she had the room serviced whilst we were out and we returned to an excellent room. We did find it strange that we were told what time we were having breakfast, but after negotiation we were given a better time slot. It was explained that the timing was to give the chef the chance to provide a good service. and to be fair the breakfast was worth waiting for.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Every thing. Every thing about the place was out standing. Staff were brill
Cons: Had a great time.. Staff were great.. Food great.. Drink great.. Bedroom & bathroom great.. Beautiful place.. Me & my wife would stay there any time

Cons: The room furniture was dusty
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is so stylish, the decor matches perfectly. The room we had was HUGE and with a lovely view. Very comfortable bed, lovely bathroom.
Cons: The balcony that you can clearly see on the pictures isn't usable. The breakfast was overpriced and the staff were very slow to serve. We had to ask for our coffee twice and our toast three times. They closed the bar before 11 on a Saturday, when we were coming back for a nightcap, despite there being at least one wedding on, we almost couldn't get a drink. The bedspread had a rip in it, it could do with a sew up.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent, and the staff were very obliging, nothing was too much trouble.
Cons: The wardrobe door fell off.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything it was a great place to stay and I would stay again
Cons: Nothing
6.8 Good
Pros: Very clean & very pleasing
Cons: Recently refurbished executive room - overall very nice. Bathroom looked plush, however lacked finish - the wooden unit basin mounted was on stood directly on tiled floor with signs of water damage(swollen)also unit maked up due to where the soap has been left, shower head pipe work visible between headunit & wall. Could have done with:- a soap dish, shelf near basin. The only shelf where tooth brush, drink glasses etc could be left was behind the wc not the most hygienic of places.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic staff, very helpful, always smiling and happy. The hotel is great the rooms are furnished to a very good standard. Bed were very comfortable. Best hotel that I have stayed in for years, don't change a thing.
Cons: The weather in Doncaster was very cold outside, so glad I was staying in an excellent hotel.
6.0 Good
Pros: No expense spared with this hotel
8.0 Excellent
Pros: hotel room was fantastic and the food was amazing
4.3 Okay
Pros: I chose this hotel because I was attending an evening function at the hotel so location was foremost priority. Main hotel is excellent for functions and of a high standard - I would have ticked 'luxury' to classify the hotel had it not been for the bedroom. Staff were friendly enough.
Cons: We were located in an annex bedroom (ground floor off reception). Bedroom was freezing cold - admittedly it was the end of October but didn't expect to have to sleep in coats! Even the carpet was so cold it felt damp. Other issues: Damp towel left on bathroom floor - later realised this is because the shower intermittently dribbled and splashed on floor; room dusty (especially noticable on black lamps); dead spider and bits of paper on window sill so obviously not been cleaned; four holes in one of the bed sheets; mug in bedroom was cracked and chipped. I contacted the hotel manager by email when I got home to advise of these problems so that they can be rectified but a week later the email has not even been acknowledged.
6.3 Good
Pros: Excellent front of staff - attended a wedding/reception and though that it was very well planned
Cons: We stopped in room 703 which was one of the refurbished rooms. The room was very comfy and well decorated but I have 2 points regarding the bathroom. No 1 - the stainless steel rubbish bin was rusty and needed to be thrown away. No 2 Whilst the shower is excellent, the water left on the tiled floor is extremely dangerous and had my elderly parents been in the room I would have been very worried about their safety. I think you need to provide floor towels as well as bath/hand towels to mop up the water that comes out of the shower area. Also, the breakfast was really nice but would benefit from the plates being warmed. I would welcome comments from the hotel regarding these points.
5.2 Okay
Pros: Lovely interior to the hotel, nice restaurant/staff. In a very good location to the Racecourse and a pub across the road.
Cons: The shower in our room was at boiling temp and could not be turned down which was very infuriating and dangerous. The staff on Reception had atitude problems and did not make us feel welcome. When I paid our bill and attempted to speak to the lady about the shower she turned away and went about other business with her collegue never glancing back.
6.4 Good
Pros: Staff were very pleasant
Cons: 1) Exterior of the Hotel is poor (Reception area is very modern and well presented) 2) Rooms are very dated and tired.
3.2 Mediocre
Pros: Convenient location just 10 minutes walk from town centre
Cons: No cold water - both sink taps ran hot. One tap was coming off the fitting. Bathroom door did not close. Room was very small and claustrophobic. Tatty furnishings. In need of a major refurbishment.
5.2 Okay
Pros: Clean, good parking, nice size room, comfortable bed.
Cons: Shower unit loose on wall, constant drip, unable to regulate temperature - too hot. Heating too hot, I tried radiator valve to no effect (later advised that reception could have sorted this out). Lift not working, no help with bags up stairs. Insufficient info in rooms ref heating, tv channels, immediate local area (Doncaster). Poor external signage - we were told this was because hotel is a listed building, we asked for more information out of interest but it wasn't forthcoming.

Pros: Beautiful quiet village. KItchen with fridge storage for longer stays etc (or wine!). Nice touches like eggs for sale in kitchen, snooker room next door, toothbrushes and tooth paste for sale (by honesty box). I had a great ensuite room, with two double beds. Catherine who looks after the guest house was very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Breakfast was basic but OK, though I wish I'd discovered the eggs first! The coffee was only instant, however. I missed the option for fresh ground filtered or percolated black coffee, but with the facilities in the kitchen, you could easily make your own, if you knew you needed to bring it, or were there for more than a night
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and tidy with all required facilities available. Staff was friendly and helpful. Well maintained.
Cons: Quite noisy from other tenants, passing pedestrians and vehicles but nothing that the property could have done to improve. Whilst there was sufficient breakfast items, I was expecting some pastries etc to make it a proper continental breakfast. The modification to the door handles means when opening from inside the room, you hit your hand on the lock so would suggest that needs looking at.
