We were taking a very early flight from Robin Hood airport. Staying at the Ramada took all the stress out of "getting to the airport on time" We just stroled across to the check in desk, then got on the plane. No issues
Very airy - the restaurant area is well lit - The lounge/bar/restaurant area has been very tastefully used with the space available. Not a bad point just our personal opinion - The night we stayed it was freezing - There was no extra bedding and the wooden floors were too bare - In the summer it may be adequate but not in winter
Very clean well run hotel, staff very helpfull. Rooms excellent well fitted out. I considered the bar prices to be slightly on the high side.
Clean, warm & comfortable. The main entrance is at the rear. This is not apparent even when entering the car park. It is natural to try and reach the front of the hotel where one would expect to find the reception. But you can't drive there!!! After walking along a narrow path with luggage and a disabled wife we reached the revolving door at the front. This revolves too quickly and bites at your heels - my wife wouldn't even enter it and it had to be 'disabled' for her to get through. We then found the reception at the rear and the adjacent automatic sliding doors. A simple sign in the car park directing you to the entrance at the rear would have saved a lot of hassle.
The hotel was near the airport and looked good from the outside. Multiple issues including price cheaper on hotels own website.
Staff were extremeley good and very helpful
The Receptionists were very helpfull when I required help to find a tyre firm after having a puncture
Internet - ired access strange (Ethernet cable in my room would not connect to my pc). Wireless access in lobby very slow - until I mentioned it to staff then it speeded up. Odd!
New hotel, nice and clean and very friendly staff None
Wedding party was very noisy in the corridors till the early hours making it difficult for other guests to sleep.Maybe you do not value normal guests.A very expensive reataurant menu yet my Guest was left with very little choice of a vegitarian meal.I think there was only one very unimaginate main couse item and she had to choose from the starter menu.
The room I was given was large and comfortable and was better than I expected. Everything was fine
The comfort of the room and the hotel in general; excellent cuisine and good service.
Great location - from Airport and amenities. great atmosphere - an oasis away from the crowds. Not applicable
Comfortable and spacious room, traditional yet modern en-suite and Excellent breakfast
Three small comments. 1, I thought the Lady in the breakfast area was speaking to a Dog when she directed us to are table. 2, The picture on the internet was nothing like the room which i stayed in! still very nice but not really £135 worth. 3, Under the left bedside table was somebodys dirty sock which i put in the bin
The restaurant was excellent
Lovely suite with luxurious bathroom. Excellent coffee at breakfast. It ended to soon
Noise from two wedding parties
spacious, luxurious suite with a huge comfortable four poster bed fit for a queen everything was lovely
Convenient location just 10 minutes walk from town centre No cold water - both sink taps ran hot. One tap was coming off the fitting. Bathroom door did not close. Room was very small and claustrophobic. Tatty furnishings. In need of a major refurbishment.
Fantastic staff, very helpful, always smiling and happy. The hotel is great the rooms are furnished to a very good standard. Bed were very comfortable. Best hotel that I have stayed in for years, don't change a thing. The weather in Doncaster was very cold outside, so glad I was staying in an excellent hotel.
No expense spared with this hotel
I chose this hotel because I was attending an evening function at the hotel so location was foremost priority. Main hotel is excellent for functions and of a high standard - I would have ticked 'luxury' to classify the hotel had it not been for the bedroom. Staff were friendly enough. We were located in an annex bedroom (ground floor off reception). Bedroom was freezing cold - admittedly it was the end of October but didn't expect to have to sleep in coats! Even the carpet was so cold it felt damp. Other issues: Damp towel left on bathroom floor - later realised this is because the shower intermittently dribbled and splashed on floor; room dusty (especially noticable on black lamps); dead spider and bits of paper on window sill so obviously not been cleaned; four holes in one of the bed sheets; mug in bedroom was cracked and chipped. I contacted the hotel manager by email when I got home to advise of these problems so that they can be rectified but a week later the email has not even been acknowledged.
hotel room was fantastic and the food was amazing
Lovely interior to the hotel, nice restaurant/staff. In a very good location to the Racecourse and a pub across the road. The shower in our room was at boiling temp and could not be turned down which was very infuriating and dangerous. The staff on Reception had atitude problems and did not make us feel welcome. When I paid our bill and attempted to speak to the lady about the shower she turned away and went about other business with her collegue never glancing back.
Excellent front of staff - attended a wedding/reception and though that it was very well planned We stopped in room 703 which was one of the refurbished rooms. The room was very comfy and well decorated but I have 2 points regarding the bathroom. No 1 - the stainless steel rubbish bin was rusty and needed to be thrown away. No 2 Whilst the shower is excellent, the water left on the tiled floor is extremely dangerous and had my elderly parents been in the room I would have been very worried about their safety. I think you need to provide floor towels as well as bath/hand towels to mop up the water that comes out of the shower area. Also, the breakfast was really nice but would benefit from the plates being warmed. I would welcome comments from the hotel regarding these points.
Very clean & very pleasing Recently refurbished executive room - overall very nice. Bathroom looked plush, however lacked finish - the wooden unit basin mounted was on stood directly on tiled floor with signs of water damage(swollen)also unit maked up due to where the soap has been left, shower head pipe work visible between headunit & wall. Could have done with:- a soap dish, shelf near basin. The only shelf where tooth brush, drink glasses etc could be left was behind the wc not the most hygienic of places.
Staff were very pleasant 1) Exterior of the Hotel is poor (Reception area is very modern and well presented) 2) Rooms are very dated and tired.
Clean, good parking, nice size room, comfortable bed. Shower unit loose on wall, constant drip, unable to regulate temperature - too hot. Heating too hot, I tried radiator valve to no effect (later advised that reception could have sorted this out). Lift not working, no help with bags up stairs. Insufficient info in rooms ref heating, tv channels, immediate local area (Doncaster). Poor external signage - we were told this was because hotel is a listed building, we asked for more information out of interest but it wasn't forthcoming.
The internet did not work
New, clean and everything worked proerly Breakfast: a cooked breakfast for those travelling around all day and don't have time for lunch would be good - even if it could be arranged with the pub next door
Lovely Room, everything in room so clean & comfortable. We had to wait at least 5 minutes at reception to check in.
The good sized very clean room, comfortable bed. Able to get an early breakfast. No
Large clean room. Friendly & helpful staff. Easy to find & quick access to the centre of town (5 minutes drive)
The staff were very helpful, the breakfast was very good, and the bed was excellent. We would have brought it home, but thought you would miss it.
excellent room bar and lounge area very comfy breakfast could have been better
Great place to stop over on your Journey. Have allways used travelodge but not any more!
Room was ready early and we were allowed in prior to attending a race meeting at Doncaster, which is a nice touch. It is impossible to get a taxi from the hotel to racemeetings on a race day. The hotels location means a long journey for a cab in slow traffic and the 6 taxi firms we contacted all stated this. Bear in mind if off to the races!
bar /restaurant modern and reasonably clean Bedroom very outdated as was bathroom. Our room directly above function room, extremely noisy
The location The room was smelly and dirty and the towels had make up on them
Very hot, no air con and poor parking arrangements
Nice, friendly hotel centrally located within the heart of Doncaster town centre.
The only thing pleasant about this hotel was the sleep I had after travelling all day Worst service ever....half the staff dont seem to be capable of their given job
no internet access
fantastic photo's of the rooms, looks great from the outside, the discoint looks like a good deal smells of stale water, food really really bad, made by a child, broken remote, noisey, dirty carpets, odd attitude from staff!!??
Room was very clean, the bed comfortable, very central for shopping or clubbing. Due to its location it was a little noisy due to late night revellers, the car park is very small and was full, had to pay to park elsewhere.
Business meeting Not having a trouser press in the room
Location excellent staff helpfful
Helpful staff Flies. There also appeared to a large element of learning on the job by the younger members of staff
Hotel staff were very friendly. The room was comfortable. The breakfast was not great.
The staff at the hotel were very helpful even when a heating thermostat wasn't working and put our room at 28C she was able to move us to a cooler room. The room was large and my only disappointment was that there was only one chair and it was a double room so either my wife sat on the end of the bed or went to bed??? The chair was a straight backed chair again so not much comfort. Hence my classification as business. see above comment about chairs
Good value for money. Nice bar with bar food. Rooms are basic but satisfactory.
New and very clean and modern. Good play area for children, but was very rowdy as was unsupervised and seemed to have a lot of children bigger than the recommended size. Poor service on arrival. Booked family room (two adults, two children). But the room only had the travel cot made up, and had to make up the bed our selves for our little boy. Plus as a family room there was no double bed in the room and when the third bed was made was not much room at all. We believe the room we were allocated was a twin room and not a family room. Very poor service in the hotel bar and restaurant, for evening meal and breakfast.
No telephone in the room.
confusion in restaurant on how to order food after being shown to table by waitress many guests thought it was waitress service and did not realise that they had to go the bar to order food only after a good look round the table we saw the instructions(in red) on the menu holder
Location was OK and the hotel was clean. Hotel very basic, one heater in room, beds not the best and I had a family room and the two extra beds were just matresses on the floor. The breakfast is poor and it took us an hour one morning to get breakfast. It's OK for a one nighter but that's it. I have stayed in better travel lodges
It was comfortable, quiet, friendly staff who couldn't do enough to make the stay enjoyable. We will certainly use Sleep Inn again
Clean, comfortable easy access More choice at breakfast
Rooms spacious - could not fault cleanliness
Friendly staff, generally pleasant atmosphere, free wifi tacky soap/shampoo dispensers
Good clean cheap accomodation
the cleanliness and friendliness of the hotel
noisy car garage and road. The food wasn't that great for its price. Fried breakfast was cold
The bar was reasonably priced and the location was easily accessible. I felt that the staff on reception could have been more welcoming and friendly. They appeared miserable and could not even manage a smile.
Provided comfortable accommodation for a brief overnight stay in Doncaster.
Clean large room, and close location to football ground The outside look of the hotel, and cans of empty beer near the staff entrance
cleanlinessof my room, indications about arriving at the hotel
the freindly staff, how easy it was to get to and the quiet location
It was cheap, comfortable and convenient Not the Hotel directly but the signage from the main road could be better
Firt reaction was that it was very basic but it did have all that we needed for a short stay
quiet location even though we were right in the middle of town, room acceptable and looked after every day. all round a good experience.
The fact that rooms where on two levels and the bar/restaraunt was small but pleasant The lighting in the rooms was quite subdued and had difficulty in reading/working.
quite good staff very clean and comfortable good location for town and shops
Friendly staff - good service
Clean room Good supply of hot water Free Wifi Small room No whisky for sale in the bar!
Location, setting, food comfort and friendly staff Room to hot - but soon remedied - 2 weddings.
We liked everything about our stay. We came to a wedding and the attention to detail was outstanding. You should be very proud of your staff, they were helpful, polite and knowledgeable. See above
had a wonderful stay for a wedding, the hotel was beautiful inside and out ,we stayed in the new bit at the side ,the decor was very nice and the size of the bedoom was very big.Comphy massive bed and great pillows for once. The food was outstanding and very helpful staff. that i had to come home !
I was upgraded to a superior room on arrival which was a nice surprise and staff made you feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble. Restaurant food was first class and justified the slightly higher prices than you would normally see so well worthwhile. The only thing I didn't like is the fact that I was only staying there for one night on business - one week would have been much nicer! :-)
Striking wallpaper. Comfortable bed. Lack of parking space on arrival. Dining room crowded and disorganised at breakfast. I had to request a bowl at the buffet and my husband ordered scrambled eggs and was given a fried egg with his English breakfast. However, the staff were pleasant. Bath was very small. Room very hot on arrival, but staff did oblige by turning down central air conditioning.
Peace and quiet after a long flight. Chance to get over jetlag. Nice place Could not open window so no fresh air. Room was musty. Your long life milk is not a patch on Australia's. We wouled have a small fridge in the room.
Staff friendly and helpful.
The hotel was exceptionally well appointed and the staff were very good and everywhere was very clean and tidy I would be hard pushed to find anything that I did not like during my stay.
I arrived to find that although I had booked a superior garden double, they had only a shabby, interior room with a window having a wall one foot away. They refused to accomodate my reservation, even though I had arrived early.
Excellent location off A1,good views even from back of hotel Resturaunt rather over priced
The attractiveness and cleanliness of the hotel, the restaurant, service and ambience was superb. Could you please send me a loyalty card as I will be using the hotel again next week. There was a lot of noise at 6am, the door at the top of the stairs was continually banging with people talking loudly.
Room clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast fast and good. Dinner in lodge nest door unremarkable pub menu
Nice people, nice food, quiet room Only complaint; I was kept waiting at reception (which is understandable) but the lady on duty could have made my wait tolerable by saying "I will get to you soon, sir!" Instead of studiously ignoring me.
The staff are always helpful and cheerful. The new shower heads still do not deliver a good amount of water.
The friendly staff and car parking. Only the alarm which kept going off throughout the night.
Room 29 is a conference room with pull down beds which were very uncomfortable. This room is not fit for purpose and should not be used. Apart from that the hotel is warm and clean with friendly staff.
Clean pleasent environment with friendly staff It wasn't clear when I booked that I would only have a shower available to me
room and lounge bar area Slow food service and very small portions of good food - wouldn't recommend eating there but would stay again.
Reception staff very friendly and welcoming. Was not kept waiting. Clean, comfortable room. Enjoyable breakfast with good choice. Easy booking online. No bar facilities after midnight.
Very impressive entrance. Very helpful friendly staff. Nice location. Excellent service and good breakfast.
comfortable room although i have stayed in better best Western hotels. Bar open till very late so able to have drink on return. room too warm during night and was unable to do anything about tempreture.
Clean, roomy, freindly staff. Breakfast not very good, okay but not up to the standard of the rest of the hotel.
Peace and quiet None
Good location, but the road filled with parked cars in the early evening meaning I had to park some distance from the hotel.
Room were nicely presented and plenty of good quality towels Room was cold when we first arrived (there had been heavy snow) though adequate radiators once turned up soon had the room warm.
Very good bathroom with powerful shower. Good breakfast Banged head everytime we went down the stairs (no sign!)
Position Clean Good breakfast quiet Price could do to be cheaper
The room was clean. N/A
Comfortable room, clean and recently decorated. None
Simple no fuss accommodation with a level of confort which was like beign at home for the night. guaranteed a good night sleep.. this survey is misleading. 4 questions is more like 18 or 20. not a fair nad you have just overstepped the mark
The room was a good size and very clean. The bed was comfortable. The shower was poor. The water went from freezing cold to scalding hot and took a while for the water to come out. On arrival it was not explained that certain breakfast items had to be ordered the day before. When I pointed this out I was told that there was a copy of the menu in the room indicating that it was my responsibility.
It was very pleasant, our room was clean and cosy and the bed was great. We were told on the website that each of the rooms had freeview viewing in all of the rooms but ours didn't have that feature and were unable to view most of the terrestrial channels.
Staff were exremely friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean and the food was well presented and very tasty None
The location was very quiet with no traffic noise The room was cold on arrival and took a good few hours to warm up
Great food. Good service in the restaurant especially the manager guy who worked Sunday night - he was outstanding. Great location - the grounds were always beautifully kept. No bath! We were looking forward to a relaxing bath or two! Also, never seen a bathroom so badly planned - the toilet was facing a wall... Which gave you hardly any room to sit... Very bad!!! (Newnham suite) Also on arriving & trying to find the hotel - we could not find the hotel - took us ages - Terrible Signage!!!
The leisure facilities were very nice and open at convenient times. I had to ask the reception staff about everything ie location and times of leisure facilities, location/time of breakfast, location of bar/restaurant. I should have been provided with all of the appropriate information on arrival. The room was nicely spacious but only terrestrial TV available which is pretty limited these days. I don't use TV much but when travelling alone it is sometimes nice to chill out for an hour or so watching TV so Sky or Freeview would be an improvement.
Beautiful rooms, lovely spa facilities. Staff made you feel welcome. Not enough information on things like breakfast and room service. No welcome pack in the room. Very loud in the mornings - got woken up at 6:30am by banging.
The old world charm and the magnificent settings on the golf course. Also the real feeling of ambience
Overall everything Was not able to shut the bathroom door
Excellent waiter service & food at breakfast. Clean & tidy Free parking Accommodation generally 'tired' - eg old and faded curtains, which wouldn't quite close, hardboard of bathroom door coming away from central core, light above mirror in bathroom not functioning, cracked window pane. Absolutely no details regarding the hotel (eg restaurant times, room service, facilities available) in the room apart from, rather oddly, a wine list. No safe deposit box or iron. Telephone, but not obviously possible to contact either other rooms or main reception. Room size just about adequate - though it would be wrong to say you couldn't swing a cat, you'd have to have short arms & a small cat! Large area of apparent damp around socket points in single room used by one member of the party.
Room was very nice in the new wing. No telephone in the room, pool is quite small although adequate. Reception staff poor on both checking in and out. Breakfast staff not very attentive
Beautiful property, worth the visit to sit in the big hall, food was good, staff friendly, Lots of hot water in the shower, free wifi. Had a single room and it was small, bed not very comfy but it was cheap.
The atmosphere, friendly staff and how clean it was
very helpful staff, bent over backwards to make our stay comfortable. a bit too hot for me in the rooms, the drinks in the reception bar are overpriced. the first bed i had was uncomfortable but the changed room made up for it.
The staff were as helpful and as friendly as any I have encountered. They were professional, well motivated and more than willing to go the extra mile N/A
Convenient for town centre
the comfort of our room..was brilliant..quiet and cosy. understandably the hotel was very busy due to race meetings. but are orderwas forgotten at breakfast, and the staff were particularly apologetic and rushed it through when they discovered the mistake. Breakfast was delicious, but we were rushed as we had a flight to catch..only thing we didnt like
Good full English breakfast. Very helpful hotel reception. Really nice location. Lack of Lift to 2nd floor
Location Breakfast times 7am/9am is not long enough?
Closeness to both the airport and the train station
The room was comfortable and clean and updated. I felt the staff were very proficient at their positions however they did not seem to be enjoying themselves or engaged as much as I would have thought. This could be due to my experiences in North America where as a lone traveller, I have become quite engaged in conversation with the staff during meals and the odd late night drink and it was very eveident that they did enjoy their positions of employ at other hotels in comparison to this. The room I stayed in was clean and fairly comfortable but just slightly smaller than I would have anticipated.
Free drink at the bar for signing up to the loyalty scheme The room. It was very dated and the bathroom had a damp smell in it. A nice entrance to the hotel clearly showing money has been spent on the place, time though to update the rooms. Breakfast didn't have much choice for vegetarians, other hotels offer vegetarian sausages.
The room was spacious & very clean. It is in a good location close to the road network and close enough to the town centre.
It was quiet and had a relaxed atmosphere
It was extremely basic. Ate in restaurant one evening and the food was very good Supposed to be an exec room but it was very small. Had to pay for wi fi.
quiet, relaxing ambience bar tariffs too high (but probably no different to other hotels of the same rating)
Attention from reception and restaurant staff.
Good menus and restaurant service plus pleasant room Nothing
Reception staff very helpful Bar drinks very expensive
the comfortable beds
noisy wedding reception late at night
