The hotel has a very nice living room. The view from the hotel room. The quality of the bed.
Clean, basic room. Pleasant hotel staff. The hotel offers very simple rooms without specific amenities, which makes it pretty expensive with respect to quality. Beds were unconfortable. The parking is free but at a deserted location some four hundred meters from the hotel and unguarded.
There was no tea/coffee making facilities in the room
Warm hosts, beautiful rural setting outside small town, personal attention and opportunity to get to know hosts.
A stunning place to stay for anyone wanting to avoid the archetypal European hotel offer. A great experience all round In truth Ponte de Barca has relatively little to commend it compared with Ponte de Lima but the Casa Nobre do Correio-Mor makes up for it
It was interesting and quite spectacular. It was packed with antiques which, although interesting, gave the house a damp and musty smell. It was also quite dark. They do not accept cards so we had to go to a cash dispenser.
Historical experience and good service
The overall atmosphere of the place and kindness of the staff The bet was definitely too small and uncomfortable. The breakfast was ok but would need more variety (fruit, croissants, etc.)
Perfect hotel in perfect place. Everything is OK!
Hotel da Peneda is a surprise amidst the Natural Park. Its setting is awesome, great atmosphere!
The place (santuario da peneda and the natural park) is terrific and the hotel is new, comfortable and furnished in a "young" way there are no good signs to reach the hotel
Quiet. Sight seeing. The staff was very helpful. (They even called me to give alternative directions.) There is no mobile phone network. Attention: please check your directions with the hotel, they can give you alternative routes.
Outstanding location overlooking square and mountain village. The famous pilgrim church and stairway is right beside the hotel and a mountain stream runs under the entrance of the hotel. We could park our hire car in the square under our bedroom window. The church bells ring twice on the hour mark right through the night. No mobile phone coverage
Perfect location in the middle of the mountains - good for starting a hike.
The staff was exceptionally helpful. The room was clean and had a lovely balcony with a view. If you arrive by bus as we did, it is a long uphill walk to the hotel.
We stayed for one night with a friend after a day touring through the National Park. Staff was friendly, not very good knowledge of English, but used German to order the dinner which was fine with us. Excellent value for money. Nice views over the valley.
Friendly staff, cozy atmosphere. Good price/benefit relationship. (1) Some noise from children in the corridors after 10pm. Parents should be informed by staff that their children should keep silence after 10pm, 'cause other guests may be wanting to rest for the walking/early activities next day. (2) Breakfast sitting area should be extended to the enclosed balcony next to the breakfast room, the view over the mountains is very beautiful from there, but the balcony is reserved for lunch only, 3 and half hours later... Guests are deprived of that beautiful morning view in favor of the comfort of the hotel employees.
Had a very relaxing break at Pensao Adelaide. The accommodation is basic, but had everything we needed and was good value for money. Worth it for the view from our balcony though...spectacular. Worst thing was breakfast...especially for veggies. Also, it didn't bother us once we'd got used to it, but the swimming pool is at the other side if the village - so you either have to walk, take your car, or get the Adelaide minibus. Very good pool though once you are there!
Located in a cute hillside village in the beautiful countryside - I loved the peace and the view over the valley from the hotel room! Just a little deceiving about the swimming pool - I was looking forward to soaking in the hotel's pool on arrival but discovered it was on the other side of the valley (although I believe they can transport you there) but it was closed! Otherwise I had a very enjoyable stay.
This is a very nice small hotel and good value for money. Breakfast was buffet-style cold, decent value for money. The hotel is a little out of the way and a little difficult to find. You need a car, there is free car parking but perhaps limited if the hotel was busy. Some of the staff speak no English but others do. They were very helpful and allowed me to use their computer to book the next hotel.
Excellent location: beautiful nature around, sport facilities (bike hire, canoe hire, etc.) & plenty of cafés and restaurants nearby, pool, nice views from all (or most) of the rooms, fairly good breakfast. WiFi works well in the lobby and restaurant, less so in some rooms.
The breakfast was nice but cold milk for the cereals would be appreciated. The room had a really nice view with a great balcony and a very big bathroom but the church next door has a bell that rings every hour even during the night. There is a very nice little beach five minutes of walking from the hotel. The pool is great. There is even a park for the kids and a little swimming pool for kids. The walking trail number pr3 is great, but you can go on the top by car... The restaurant in the hotel was closed and it is a 10 min drive for the nearest good restaurant but the restaurant Pensao Baltazar in Geres is perfect.
Good location. No A/C and only one fan. Very hot room.
The location is perfect, the people is nice. In hot summer days a AC would be a plus, mosquito nets in the windows would help for those that like sleaping with open windows in the summer.
Good value for money, and the private parking lot was a blessing. Breakfast was terrible and the rooms aren't soundproof enough. I could hear snoring coming from two(!) separate rooms.
Family atmosphere. I was well looked after. Not many places in the village were open as it was out of season
Extreme care from the staff and extensive knowledge of the region including other regions surrounding Montalegre and Terras do Bouro. Good and complete breakfast with milk, coffee, ham, cheese, croissants, cakes, juice, tea, etc etc... Relaxing view from the cafeteria. The rooms and the other areas of the hotel were very clean w/o any kind of unconfortable noise or smell (as mentioned by others) and were very confortable. They have an indoor parking for customers with is very handy and make your life easirer. Definetly above the average regarding price/quality ratio.
Good place for trips into the mountains of National Park Peneda Geresz, it is more mountain hostel than a hotel; own car park
Family environment, quiet, friendly and comfortable No internet facilities
