Better than expected. Room was big, clean, flat screen TV, A/C, comfortable bed. Bathroom clean and ample. This was clearly a family oriented hotel (maybe it was the time of the year). However, noise wasn't much of an issue (if you don't mind kids running through the hall ways).
It was ideal for us. We wanted to stay in the region on our drive back to Wales from Italy.
Good facilities, good location and very good value for money. Excellent breakfast for the family.
Room was a really goog size for us as we have a baby and there was loads of space for a travel cot. Difficult to find and difficult to get a children's play area
easy acces, Chain hotel, good for one night
The carpets in the room and the public areas except for the restaurant were very dirty. They need to be replaced. Hotel not up to Novotel standards. I was disappointed.
Breakfast is poor value.
Room comfortable and clean; Complete supplies and room services
The provision at breakfast was insufficient to cope with the demand. Breakfast itself was fine but the buffet area too small.
We stayed for one night at Hotel-Golf, the staff were exceptionally helpful, the room was extremely spacious and comfortable, the evening meal was well presented and delicious. We would recommend the Hotel-Golf to those who enjoy a Hotel experience of high standard, luxurious living and in a beautiful location with amazing views.
Your first view of the chateau is stunning. The grounds and the pool area were beautiful. When we first arrived the woman at reception did a wonderful job of introducing the amenities of the chateau. One night our air conditioning did not work and we had a difficult time sleeping. The next day we informed the management and they replaced the entire air conditioning unit.
Superb hotel amazing dinner the best we have ever eaten. Young Silva who worked in restaurant is a great credit to you. fabulous location, stunning çhateau, cannot wait to come back. Only regret was we only stayed 1 night next time will stay longer. very beautiful thank you very much. No everything was perfect.
Delightful locaton, staff very friendly and helpful and prepared to speak English. Ecellent food and free parking Main restaurant a little on the pricey side.Would have been nice to have breakfast included in the room price
lovely room, attractive chateau but rather expensive restaurant and breakfast extra. Although a lovely place to stay we would have preferred to have paid more with an exclusive breakfast.
Loved the room and the enjoyed relaxing with friends in the adjacent comfortable lounge and balcony. Very good breakfast. Enjoyed using sauna and spa for a modest fee. Interesting architecture and decor. Country setting with great views over the valley. Location good for several day trips to the nearby tourist sites. Very friendly service Unable to use WIFI in our room or common area during the 3 days we were there.
very clean & comfortable. Helpfull staff.
Wonderful surrounding, nice rooms and excellent breakfast
Old stone buildings renovated into hotel rooms. Rooms are all different, decorated with antiques and funky garage sale furnishings. Really great communal living room with books and tv etc. Decent bed unlike much of european 2 star hotels. The "town" of Villeferry where Le Verger is located is not much more than a small collection of houses but it is close to other small towns that are worth day trips like highly reccomended Semur-en-Auxois. Nice quite in the country place to stay. Suberb help and welcome from Julian.
Wonderful and unique property.
This hotel was perfectly adequate for our purpose of breaking the journey from the UK to Italy, and was good value for money. The design of the shower in the room that we were given was poor and could result in injury.
We have stayed here before and will stay again when in the area. The location makes it easy to explore the whole region from the tranquility of the countryside location. The staff are friendly and very welcoming. The restaurant "on the hill" serves a reasonable 4 course set menu and a small choice of pretty good wine. We love this place!!
Beautiful setting. Terrific outdoor space. Wonderful communal space. Mediocre service staff. Confusing check-in. No communication of hotel service habits. No room clean-up or bed make-up. No phones in rooms. No way to contact any hotel staff in the evenings for extra pillow or necessary toilet paper. Had to "borrow" pillows from a sofa. Terrible coffee in morning (and we love French coffee and this was bad: weak, taseless.)
This is an unusual hotel where the rooms are located in several buildings around very tranquil gardens and ancient orchards. With orientation to the common areas - library, lounge with self serve beverages, breakfast room and gardens, we learned about the area as well as our hosts and hotel. We had very substantial breakfasts and a delicious dinner using organic produce and locally sourced food. The hotel is built on quite a steep hillside and does not have an elevator. Not suitable for people with ambulation difficulties.
Everything. The room, the common areas, the restaurant, the library - just great
Truly a destination property: inside the gated grounds, the ambiance and luxury of the surroundings overwhelms! Explore the c1131 Abbaye's interior spaces, lake w/ romantic row boat,herb/flower gardens, wine cellar, crypt, dine in the gastromic restaurant. Nothing but perfection at its best!
The overall atmosphere, unobtrusive kindness and attention of both owners, very personalized service. Positive feeling which is very rare and difficult to describe was always present at Les Roches. Absolutely quiet surroundings, nice view, large garden - what can you wish more?
very charming place. Highly recommended.
Absolutely beautiful building and surrounds, luxurious rooms, delicious food and friendly hosts. What more could we want, hope to return soon!
We loved the location, people, and ease of hospitality Next time we would ask for a room facing the valley
Stylish and quirky with a friendly atmosphere. Excellent dinner and wonderful countryside location. None
The hotel is in a very quit and peaceful location. The hotel is small and cosy.
A most relaxing and comfortable hotel. Fire places were great and common areas and bedrooms really well decorated and quiet. Staff friendly. Good location to many little village and Beaune by car. Our bedroom and bathroom floors had grit on them and needed to be cleaned better. For such a lovely place with wonderful appointments we felt the girls at the front desk a little unprofessional in manner and dress
The owners are very nice hosts. We only had a cheese diner on Sunday night but it was super. Nice location and downstair rooms like library and restaurant are lovely. Our hotelroom was not very clean and really needs some upgrading, just like the bathroom. 'The property is more like a mansion than a chateau. It's a pity that the couches in the library are full of dog hair, so it can't be used by guests.
A truly beautiful house/mini-chateau, beautifully cared for by Marco and Tobias - truly wonderful hosts! The Enchanted Room was truly that with the most comfortable bed on our travels. Wonderful views and located in a sweet village, handy for the wine areas and Beaune. The public areas were so comfortable and relaxing too. Tobias and Marco were a great source of local information - nothing was too much trouble. Great to see that there was no TV in the bedroom - such a brave but oh so right decision! Although we didn't experience it ourselves, we believe their dinner nights are fabulous! Can't recommend this highly enough! Bathrobes please! Even if it only in the deluxe rooms!
I loved the relaxed atmosphere at Les Roches and the beautiful views from the terrace.
Everything was perfect. An excellent hotel in beautiful and quiet surroundings
Very clean and friendly hotel Could do with Tea and Coffee making facilities, ie a Kettle, in the rooms. Also a nice dinner restaurant would be good.
Nice atmosphere, big rooms and big bathroom, parking. no restaurant
Spacious room. Quiet location. Very nice grounds
nothing No facilities for making drinks, disinterested staff
The hotel was warm and friendly, very attractive and in a unique location on a hill near a historic church. English not spoken by manager, but a staff member was able to communicate. Language was not a problem as we got by OK
great place! big rooms with character. try to book ground floor - private garden is included.! free parking, 5 minutes car ride from dijon there is no restaurant
Nothing was tooo much trouble for the staff
free car parking smell
Location - 10 minutes of Dijon racetrack + close to center of Dijon, in very calm and nice suburb. Room are neat and clean. WIFI is free. In short, next race event I'll be back.
It was a lovely building set in a very quiet peaceful location. It was convenient to the autoroute and close to where we were attending a wedding. There were no facilities in the room to make tea and coffee. Our room only had a shower and no bath. There was very little space in the bathroom for setting out toiletries. The tv had just three French speaking tv channels on offer.
views & quietness No tea making facilities in room; although more an observation than a dislike!
The shower needs a place to put soap during showering.Toilet lids are not cleaned underneath.
Very pleasent accomodation in a superb environment. Hotel rooms were simple, but clean and good. Diner /Restaurant was great.
service in the restaurant was very good. nice grounds to walk around. We reserved the room and when we received a note from them we replied saying that it was our honeymoon - this was not mentioned at all or any effort to make us feel special. Soft furnishings and our bathroom in particular needed updating. We have lodged a complaint about the food to the hotel - we were ill for over 48 hours following the meal - and havent yet received a reply which is disappointing. We hope to hear something from them soon....
Beautiful setting. Very slow service at dinner.
To stay in a chateau was a luxury for us.
The hotel is a wonderful chateau with a superbe view to the garden area with all sorts of animals. The hotel has lovely rooms and you can spend a quiet night in it. We recommend the hotel but unfortunately not the restaurant. We didn`t like the dinner. The food wasn`t delicious and the price for it much to high. Besides we were the only guests in the restaurants!
The chateau is beautiful and to have drinks on the terrace and to look over the grounds was lovely. The food was nothing special and was certainly the worst meal that we had during our 10 day stay in France.
The staff were amazingly helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them and the breakfast was exceptionally good, plenty of choice and we sat outside with a view of the lovely hills in the distance and dinner the previous night was quite enjoyable and reasonably priced, despite not being a very wide choice on the menu. The location was within very easy reach of the motorway and we only needed an overnight stop en route to Spain. The beds were large and comfortable and smelled clean. The location was strange, almost in the middle of a business park, and there were more hotels in the close vicinity so it is obviously a popular choice. The first room we were shown smelled terribly of cigarettes and we were offered another one which had a huge hole in the wall. We accepted the third room offered which was a disabled-friendly room and was more spacious but it had a terrible smell coming from the drains and the bathroom was a sort of makeshift 'wet room' but the water from the shower soaked the vanity unit which was rotten at its' base. The wifi connection also did not work for us.
Free parking area The room has smoking smell.
The bathrooms had been renovated with good towels NO
Friendly staff, clean room I booked the hotel especially because they have a restaurant. Unfortunately, we arrived on a Sunday when the restaurant was not open.
Good rooms for reasonable prices. Good and helpful personnel.
Easy to find, friendly staff
We stayed at this hotel on route to our hoiliday destination and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others. The room was clean and tidy and the staff friendly and courteous. We found the hotel easily and enjoyed a meal in the restaurant. After a long days driving it was a most welcome break.
the staff - very friendly and helpful
The staff were helpful and polite, there is a restaurant which offered a good selection of food, overall it was fine for an overnight stay. The hotel was a bit dated but it was clean
Room was quite spacious. Well located just off motorway, best Chinese restaurant in whole of France 2 minutes\away. Staff were ok.Went to ask about free internet but got no help. Also no english channels tuned into Tv whilst every other hotel and even a caravan had english channels.
Nothing Smelly room, hard matress, breakfast only very basic, shaddy impression of the hotel in general, located far away from the center, not worth the money, even if it is already that cheap.
nothing that stands out yes it was next to a dual carraige way and a mainline railway
Very little, breakfast was okay. When we arrived our reservation was not recognised by the automated check in system but this was handled very well by the manager next morning, the room overlooked the very busy railway line, high speed express trains meant a noisy location, also there was no seat on the toilet.
Good value for money On the first night the room smelled of smoke. This was not good.
Room was freezing, heater tiny and no hot water! And it was winter!
Convenience for a single night stopover at a reasonable price. Very limited shower space.Could not fully open the door as it was hitting against the toilet. Did not like the wool blankets on the bed, looked very worn and unhygienic, but the linen sheets were exceptionally clean. Dijon Bonsai could do with a makeover compared to Orleans Bonsai which was very clean, comfortable and more user friendly shower room .
Free onsite parking. The hotel was very basic, but not very comfortable. The hallway was freezing, the room was also quite cold and the heat wasn't working. The staff was nice, though not particularly helpful when we were having a phone problem as we realized we'd left a computer elsewhere on our vacation. They could have offered to let us use theirs...They payphone had been "removed" and they couldn't tell us where there was one available. The hotel is an off highway type place, but very much you get what you pay for....
Cheap Rates Hotel location is not particularly pleasant but main problem was in finding the place! Room was not cleaned and bed was not made after first night despite chamber maid trying to enter room at 8am. Given remote control for TV with no batteries. Location is very unfriendly for pedestrians.
Distance from Restaurants
Not alot Not Cheap for what we recieved.Wont use again
Not much, it is need of a serious refurbishment
Spacious room size for the family nothing particular
Freindly staff and good quality services in a very nice area . Ideal for motorcylcist touring Morvan or visiting circuit at Prenois ( Moto Legende)
Nice size room for family of 5, it was clean and quiet. The hotel is a bit dated and expensive for what it is.
Reception staff very friendly. Very big room (ours overlooking field with horses). Big parking area. Smell when entering reception was of dog and / or smoking. Location not as expected. Hotel looked more like a truckers sleep over than a hotel, which was not what we expected. Once inside the room it was fine.
Excellent location, close to the Motorway. Very handy grill restaraunt next to hotel, where you receive discount. A little basic, however, great if you use this as a stopover for Alps or South of France.
very easy to park in front of the hotel and all the rooms on the ground floor was very agreable, also our familyroom was quite large
The hotel was convenient, clean and the family room was fairly large. Breakfast was very good. We liked the dogs.
Rooms were large - double bed and a sofa that coverts to a bed
Close to main route, easy to find, lovely helpful staff and clean, comfortable rooms. Would stay again if in that part of France.
Very well located to get around Burgundy, surrounded by all the best Pinot Noir vineyards of France, breakfast included simple but nice.
Lovely surroundings, perfectly clean and well maintained and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The staff spoke English and were very helpful and friendly. The hotel has lots of character. The mattress on the bed in the double room was very hard and uncomfortable. There was a slightly unpleasant odour in the twin room. The hotel is on a main road so it is advisable to ask for rooms on the garden side.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel has a restful ambience which we loved so much. We'd love to stay here again.
The staff were very welcoming and very helpful in regards to local information. eg restaurants, tourist information The hotel did not have air-conditioning in our room, however, this did not impact on our stay.
The staff was extremly friendly and helpful
We were made to feel very welcome on arrival. The staff were extremely helpful about local restaurants. The hotel's atmosphere is very relaxing.
everything that a nights stay needs was provided..functional wish they had not placed wash basin outside the bathroom!! rooms floor carpet in danger of getting wet, and kids cannot sleep through parents brushing their teeth!!
Convienient hotel to stop at enroute. Clean and comfortable at affordable price. We booked a double room and a family room for three which was good for purpose
Comfortable beds. Nice practical shower. Separate toilet. No hospitality tray. No cooked breakfast.
Pleasant helpful staff
The hotel is on a main road so convenient to Dijon and the surrounding countryside. The room was functional and comfortable but wasn't very special. The breakfast was varied ad things that ran low were quickly replaced when pointed out to the staff. Although there was a lack of fresh fruit at breakfast. We also ate at the restaurant for dinner. It was good and had good regional dishes. The menu wasn't very varied and the Boeuf Bourguignon was salty. But other food was good, the staff very nice and accommodating to young children.
Friendly staff The babybed provided was really old and shabby
We found the hotel very convenient, because we have friends nearby. The hotel staff were very helpful and the food in the restaurant was very good. Despite its location on a busy crossroads, we had 2 nights of silent and peaceful sleep, due to the triple glazed windows.
No special factors, just pleasant and comfortable. No tea/coffee making facilities in room. Only Continental breakfast!
Was better then expected including the meal in the evening No tea/coffee facilities in the bedroom
Room clean if a little basic. Large car park with free parking. Staff friendly and English speakers. Conveniently located just outside Dijon.
Room was clean & comfortable. The hotel restaurant was surprisingly good. Hotel breakfast was not worth the 7 euros/pp.
The dining room and food and staff were very nice. The room was clean and comfortable. The parking lot was very convenient. Our room was small and over a busy corner but the double windows kept most of the noise out. Mainly the industrial location and we are writing the hotel about an error where our credit card bill did not match up with our hotel bill. It appears some numbers were reversed.
helpfulness of receptionist! the breakfast, it was continental of course but on checking out they broke down the cost of our stay and the breakfast was 8.50 euros per person which i see to not be worth while paying for at that price.
free internet, very cheap. Gave us smoking room when asked for non-smoking, room smelled terrible and it was also very noisy so difficult to sleep. Reception staff made no attempt to speak English and were quite rude. Waitress in restaurant didn't speak English and most choices we wanted weren't available and the food we did get was not satisfactory.
The staff Hard to find
Good size room close to amenieties The staff could have been more helpful and friendlier
Friendliness of hotel staff. Their ability to cope when their kitchen didn't work properly - no hot meals. This was not a problem, buffets were great. Good air-conditioning in rooms, was very hot day. Good service in restaurant. No
Nicely located inexpensive hotel for passthrough traveling for which we booked the hotel.
Stopover on way back to Calais
Warm when it was so cold outside -8! The stars going to my room were not treated , there was ice and packed in snow, could have been dangerous. Also very small plastic cup not much use.
Functional & adequate Restaurant staff & service.
bed was past its best
Needs refurbishing front of the hotel needs to be tidied, paintwork needs redoing and in our room there were no doors on the shower.
Very friendly and helpful staff; good value breakfast
Helpful staff at this budget hotel. On booking expected the worse (due to price) and was pleasantly surprised. It is was it says on the tin... Found an excellent place to dine just round the corner (recommended by other guests) called the blue windmill - food and wine there both very good! Room is small and needs updating. Shower tray/door broken
Cheap and good value for money. Receptionist gave us access code and left our key in our room when we called to advise arrival after 10 pm Room small and rather tired - 4'6" double bed with cheap foam pillows - limited breakfast buffet @ ?7.00
cheap & cheerful a place to rest on transit
Very kind and helpful receptionists; basic value for money. Hotel: no external lights at night (we arrived late and it was very difficult to find the hotel); commercial centers all around. Room: really small; spoiled doors handle, damaged main door (not presentable!). In the bathroom: water with bad smell; shower box without a plexyglass part; slow water downflow from the shower plate.
Nothing, the hotel is dirty, brocken bedroom door, had to clean the shower before i could use it. Hotel was a complete dump, should be used for tramps.
Flexibel check in time, good value for money
staff friendly. bed very uncomfortable, room stunk of cigaretes even thou room should be non smoking, breakfast very disappointing, towels definateley seen there last days. rooms need updating
None Arrived at 10pm. Premises locked with no staff. tried phoning no answer as I needed to pay cash and only reserved room on card. Waited for over an hour trying to get hold of staff.
The freedom to come and go as you liked. The friendliness of the staff. The bathroom was very small but could easily have been made bigger as the room itself was a good size
The checking in process. We arrived after 21.00 hours so the reception was closed. We could not understand how to book in. We kept entering our on line booking reference on to the computerised system and it could not find our booking. Eventually after assistance from a fellow quest we establised you had to put your credit card in first. The on line check in system did not indicate you had to do this. It was very stressful.
The location- next to supermarket and petrol station so really convenient for a stop off. Limited breakfast items. Room's position at top of stairs meant people were constantly passing and it was noisy. Bathroom too small to use adequately and towels a bit shabby
the price very poor morning buffet
The pictures on the website do not reflect the actual hotel. They are generic pictures of some room in some city - not anything like the one you'll stay in.
It's a cheap hotel for a one night stay as a road stopover. All rooms appear to have one single bunk bed over top of a "full" bed below. AND there was a TV mounted on the wall in the corner. A very small room, with a tiny WC/shower. It's like camping.
it's perfect for travellers with cars in a low-cost trip. Great place, clean. Thanks
Price, located out of town No tea/coffee in room
The directions provided on the internet were easy to follow and directed us to the hotel with ease. The rooms booked were allocated as non-smoking but there were still oders from past smokers.
