Good location very friendly owner great breakfast. Shared bathroom, however not a problem
Perfect locale in Winthrop - the airport was more scenic than intrusive, and the waterfront was just as close and lovely as we had hoped. We lounged on the front porch for a while, soaking in the view and the sea air. Comfortable bed, nice (shared) bathroom, and quiet - only when I went into the hallway did I hear my neighbors snoring. Breakfast was nice (fresh muffins), but eggs and meat (bacon, sausage, etc) would have been better. Limited indoor common-room seating - I'm glad the place was nearly empty while we were there, we would have had to fight for a chair.
The ambiance and the company. The gathering spaces were so clean and well-apportioned. I did prepare my morning meal, and was quite satisfied. Wide selection of on-trend coffees. A black-out curtain in the rooms to shield against outside light would be appreciated. All the guests were pleasant and interesting, but I could have benefited by other guests' mindfulness of wearing heavy shoes inside the house.
A nice and warm place - particular the dinning room where you can always go and get a cup of coffee or even a piece of cake. The room is small, sound insulation not very good, and the bed a bit too soft.
Quiet, proximity to Harvard campus
The staff were cordial and efficient. The guest house was well maintained and nicely appointed. Everyone was extremely helpful. The room was small and expensive. Sharing a bath can prove problematic.
The staff was wonderful. It was a pleasant surprise in the midst of Cambridge.
The location and the price. It is not really close to subway stations. If you are carrying large/heavy bags you will need a taxi.
I liked the location near Harvard Square. I enjoyed the breakfast, which had some tasty items such as hard-boiled eggs and delicious little pastries. I also thought the staff was helpful and friendly. Finally the free WiFi was a nice perk, which came in handy because I brought my laptop. My room was tiny, and I needed to walk into the hallway to use the bathroom. Definitely felt like being in someone's house, which can feel a little awkward when you are surrounded by strangers.
The shared bathroom was very clean and well-stocked. There was more than one bathroom on my floor, so each room is just steps from the bathroom and I didn't encounter any waiting situations.
The beds were comfortable and the TV large. I liked the free wireless. The first room offered was extremely small. Also, there was a musty smell to the room we did have.
The breakfast was very nice. The room was very comfortable and the bathroom was very clean. Very pleasant all around.
Breakfast and snacks were great. Nice community atmosphere.
The staff was very friendly and accommodated my needs in any way they could. The location is excellent, with great pubs and restaurants within a short walk. The green line stop is across the street. It takes just 20-30 mins to reach downtown boston It's an older building without much charm or common facilities (breakfast must be taken standing up)
Location. Very easy to get in and out of Boston. Value. The price seemed a bit high for what we actually received.
Location near the t is marvelous. All the neighbourhood is also vey nice a very good free internet access either via wifi or via a computer located on 2nd floor The rooms are quite big and bathroom is very convenient Impossible to park overnight without getting a file of 30 us$. It is compulsury to use parking facility of hotel which is very crowded and is an overcost of 20$ per night. You should mention that
My son and I enjoyed our stay very much on a trip to visit BU. A nice oasis in Boston, charming bed and breakfast, responsive and friendly staff to our inquiries and made arrangements for a very late arrival. A place that feels of history in charming area of Boston, easy trip downtown on the subway. Will plan to stay there again. No.
It is conveniently located on the green line. The atmosphere of the rooms are also nice. The staff was very helpful too. the poor breakfast ( i usually drank some tea but skipped the rest)
Location, convenience, old building, easy and clear check in and out, cleanliness Beds were bit soft for us.
Well located from a short walking distance from train . This is not a hotel. It should not be in your list of 100 hotels of Boston. It´s a B&B with a poor service( they live at 8pm and return next day at 8am ) and have no tables neither chairs for a poor breakfast. I had a room in the 3rd level and to climb cracking narrow stairs.
Quiet neighborhood, close to the train. The first room was an emergency exit room with big metal exit latches on the door and windows. The exit sign glowed red all night. I moved to a second room. The bed was comfortable, but the shower was very very tiny. There was only enough room to turn around, I couldn't bend down.
Location was good - steps from public transportation; good value. Room was clean at check-in, but was never cleaned again after that (only the beds were made and the towels replaced sometimes).
The Bed No coffee in the early morning
The location was awesome - right by the train and just 15 mins from downtown boston. Close to the beautiful reservoir which is a great place togo for a run/walk. The lock on our door was broken and since we were leaving our computer during the day and since the front door was unlocked from 8am to 8pm we were pretty concerned. We expressed this concern and were told that there was nothing that could be done (no refunds, no room switching, no way to fix the lock). The "solution" we were given was to "hide our computer in a drawer..." I think there was blood on our shower curtain (it looked like a stain and not the fault of the people who clean the rooms). The shower leaked onto the floor. The wallpaper was peeling off all over. Our shower mat had holes in it and was clearly very very old. Breakfast wasn't good - worse than costco pastries.
I have stayed there several times over the years and have found all the rooms comfrotable. The staff is friendly and welcoming and the breakfasts and breakfast service are always special. Each room is unique.
The staff was very friendly and the breakfasts were outstanding. The street directly outside the Inn was being worked on and was very noisy early in the morning. I think guests should have been warned of this work in advance which had been going on for some weeks.
We did not enjoy our stay - room was tiny - a single at most. Plumbing system started at 5.30 a.m. - our room was on top floor. Breakfast good. However we would not recommend.
The breakfasts were absolutely fabulous. During our visit, there were some road works in front of the Inn, which may make it difficult for those with cars.
Lovely, friendly and perfectly located between Harvard Square and Porter Square.
Pleasant welcome. Excellent breakfast
Individual 'feel' and great location
Accessible to Harvard College. Charming historic home. Free parking. Great breakfast.
Nice room well appointed clean and a very good breakfast. Each room was unique and the staff was very friendly b Construction noise but that was not the hotel's fault.
This is a small apartment building with several units. There is no hotel staff on premises. I had a decent studio apartment in a neighborhood just a few blocks south of the Hynes convention center. When I got there, I could not get in. I needed to have a keypad entry code for both the front door and my room. I called the property management people, but there was no answer. I left a message, but nobody called back. After about 20 minutes of standing outside, another call did go through. The person I spoke with said that I should have gotten an e-mail with the codes and my room number. He did give me this information, and I did get in. I thought the room was overpriced for what I got, but it was comfortable, and still less expensive than the convention center hotels.
We had a great experience at The Christopher! The room was clean, well furnished, and quiet. Absolutely zero 'hotel noise'; only the garbage truck Friday morning was heard. As advertised, it's close to the Pru and Copley Centers, and to all of downtown for that matter. The South Corridor Park walking trail, half a block away, gets you from Back Bay Station and Copley Square all the way to the Symphony on a quiet, paved urban trail with no traffic! Giaccomo's Restaurant is true Boston Italian and only steps away. The only things preventing a five-star rating were lack of heat controls in room (it was hot on the top floor) and a leaky sink in unit #8. We'll be staying here again to visit our son at Northeastern University.
It's a cross between an airbnb and a hotel. We were in a charming neighborhood with a cool, recently renovated, very functional suite. It was safe, convenient (close to the T Station)and attractive. WiFi was iffy. The directory on neighborhood restaurants, etc was missing. Neither was a big problem for us.
The location of this hotel was fantastic. Only ten minutes short walking distance to Back Bay and all of the restaurants, shops etc. The room was dirty. Carpet was not vacuumed, there were animal hairs on the carpet and bedspread. Stairs in the corridor, dirty. Free WIFI advertised -was not available in our room. Free breakfast was just a few cereals but no milk with it - not consumed.
A very well kept B & B on Boston's Mass. Ave. A 5 min walk from Davis station on the red line. Wifi works, breakfast is standard. I especially liked the very friendly talk we had when I arrived.
Walking distance to Porter sq and Harvard Sq. Poor breakfast
This hotel is well managed with a convevient location near Harvard University.
The hotel had Gorgeous decor, good breakfast food, parking available, and was a short walk to the T. More towel racks in the bathroom.
Near T stop Good price --Overall it got the job done for a business trip, but I would choose a corporate hotel chain for the same price next time. Cold and noisy room because of not tight windows Not efficiently run or professional Breakfast was corporate continental breakfast, not a "bed and breakfast" breakfast Greeted at the front door like I didn't belong, but other than that one staff person, others were nice Trouble with providing receipts for business travel
I liked the hospitality. I don't really have anything else nice to say about this experience. The room was way too small for $189 a night. It was way away from anything. There was absolutely no parking there. Privacy was an issue because every little room was too close. I was very disappointed.
Nice breakfast. A pleasant 10 minute walk to Davis Square and another 15 minutes to Tufts. My room was in a different building from reception/breakfast - this was not really a problem in good weather, but would be less than ideal in the rain/snow/cold.
