The hotel was well-located (10 min walk to the Guggenheim and short walk to metro). The suite was large (we were four people) and comfortable. We were very happy with the room. Reception was friendly and helpful. We had requested a baby cot at the time of booking and it wasn't there when we arrived. However, reception was very helpful and provided one after we asked. Getting into the parking garage was a little scary!
Location was excellent! Near Plaza Moyua and shopping. We had a triple room on the 2nd floor in the newer wing and that one was great but we also had a double room in the older wing on 4th floor and this room was in need of an update. Carpet and decor were worn and paint was chipping.
Location, free wifi.
Closeness to the shops and bus station. Breakfast buffet
buffet breakfast reception not quite as as atttentive on arrival as one would have hoped
Nice staff, good breakfast, nice room There was only a socket for plugging in electric devices. Thus, it was not possible to plug in the laptop while the TV was on!
I liked very much the hotel staff, their behavior.
efficient service, free internet in the lobby, central location
The hotel was comfortable and in an ideal location. The reception staff were not very friendly or helpful.
Always a great experience!! None
just a stay overnight quality of food
Quiet location - in the park. Not enough closet space The eggs and 'hot' food was cold.
Excellent Architecture , well located and he fabulous breakfast Parking in front of hotel could be a improved while checking in.
location, room comfort, the staff at the reception desk Wi-Fi didn't work in the rooms.
The warmth and comfort In common with many other Spanish hotels there was no lavatory brush in the bathroom. This is something which should be corrected !
Great hotel and location as the tram stop is right next to the hotel and takes you into the old part of the town were all the shops and restaurants are. The cost of the tram is just1 euro.
The location was brilliant. Food really good. When our TV wasn't working, prompt service. When it still didn't work, they swaps rooms for us. Excellent. One of the waiters was a bit unattentive. Rest of staff were excellent.
For beginners golf, driving range is good, but the 9 hole course may explain why the hotel was so quiet Lack of simple food for children. Difficult to find, we joined a spanish couple who were also lost because "s/n" in the address means sin numero, and if you navigate by post code sat-nav will send you 4km too far north. From the motorway north toward Mungia, take first exit which mentions Laukaritz, and go to the right and 1 km up hill. The motorway exit is opposite a Petronor filling station.
Comfortable and spacious. Quiet. Check-in staff extremely rude on arrival but atmosphere improved greatly when new shift started. Fake flowers in public areas ruin what would otherwise be tasteful decoration.
Quiet, clean, spacious and elegant This is not your fault--For reasons unclear, the cab fare price to the airport, a very short drive, was the same as to downtown city center.
big rooms and settings need a shuttle to and from the airport.
The location was very nice and the hotel room was of a high standard. We had dinner in the restaurant however this fell a long way below our expectations. A bit of a disappointment.
great rooms, great landscape, swimming pool, nice staff... the restaurant isn't open at night...the bar still serves food but it gets quite expensive for not a lot.
Very plush and comfortable. A quiet refuge from the noise and pollution of Bilbao! Dinner had a limited menu. This may have related to the fact that we stayed on Sunday and Monday nights.
Katerine was very helpfull when the hotel was ver difficult to find, we were on the bike.
Very good attention from the staff at all times.
The hotel came up to tne standard of the good reveiws on line. Very pleased with the over all standard and good location for visit Bibio and the beaches close to the city. Minor point - was rather shocked by a bill for over 80 euros charged for having some laundry done- quite the most expensive wash we have had done any where the world!
The location, cleanliness of the room and the parking area Restaurant
We found the hotel staff friendly and helpful. We very much enjoyed the modern style of the hotel and our room. Dinner in the restaurant was truly excellent with a very pleasant and helpful waiter who spoke excellent English. As with other reviewers we left after an excellent breakfast. The free Internet access in a room was also a plus point. No
Everything was very good visiting the guggenheim is a must . lovely food plenty of tapas. the hotel was in a good location for restaurants and bars.
Friendliness of staff, comfortable room, location near bus station and good restaurants, value for money.
Services were good, the hotel was very clean and well maintained. Breakfast and breakfast times were excellent. The room was lovely and well stocked. No
Great location and a really nice room.
The location of the hotel is ideal. The rooms are OK, although the windows could be larger. A triple room for a family was quite crowded with the beds and there was almost no space to move.
nice and quiet and good location staff were slightly surly
Internet was not functioning when we were there. The waiter in the hotel restaurant was great; helpful, knowledgeable and witty. Some other staff were helpful and courteous but somewhat distracted and got one or two things wrong. I think they were genuine mistakes.
The Hotel was clean airy and gave the impression that as a guest you were important to them. There did not appear to be a vegitarian option on the daily special menu, I may be wrong but I do notthink so theday we were there.
relaxation and luxury
Excellent pool and bar Unusual see through shower?!
Having to pay 30 euros for the use of the spa, not nearly enough space to hang my clothes, no tea/coffe making facilities in the room. You don't always want to go straight downstairs to the restaurant in the morning.
The BIO1 room is fantastic. The buffet breakfast was very good. The BIO2 rooms look too clinical.
Superb bed, spotless room and bathroom, very helpful and polite staff, really close to metro station. 50 euros for a hotel like this is a real bargain!
i like the hotel the print machine was tree days broked
The fact that you have to pay 6 euros for wireless access !!!
The friendly welcome and helpful staff. The glass partition between sleeping area and bathroom. I prefer more privacy.
Relaxed and quiet staff very good and helpful No
The location is great. We liked the modern design of the furniture, the lighting and the bathroom features. By the way, the shower was fabulous. We would prefer a room with a better view, Ours was into some courtyard
Perfect location and the great room The spa wasn't that fabulous
Hotel staff Rooms design
A good, comfortable, pleasant hotel in a good location. Staff were responsive to requests and helpful.
Compared to other Spanish cities, Bilbao & this hotel (with its huge room) in particular offers excellent value for money. David Australia
Central location, updated decor, helpful staff, good value Some upgrades, like the floor, were cheaply done - squeaky laminate
good value for money.very centrally located.
no umbrella when outside raining;
The room was too small
Rooms are big, with big nice bathrooms. Very comfortable! There is WIFI available at the rooms but you have to pay per hour or day. I would prefer it to be included in the price, even if it is a little more expensive
Near the center of the City. Easy to move around directly from the Hotel to main tourist attractions. Not very comfortable. Old rooms and uncomfortable bed mattresses.
Room was very comfortable and quiet. Hotel was in a good location for seeing the city of Bilbao. Thought ther could have been a wider choice at breakfast.
Great value for money
location was relatively good reception staff were both unhelpfull and unfriendly and not at all in keeping with what one would expect from a four star hotel.
Good position and pleasant room with good facilities. The breakfast was of relatively poor quality and expensive compared with similar hotels.
This hotel represented good value for money at the time of purchase. A clean, spacious hotel in a great location - a 10 minute walk from the Old Town or the Guggenheim.
Breakfast Hotel difficult to find. Air conditioning in bedroom not functioning.
The staff spoke excellent English and were very helpful telling us how to get into the hotel car park and then up to reception to check in. We were very disappointed that on our return stay in this hotel, there were no tea/coffee making facilities.
The location is ideal for exploring a wonderful city without needing a car. Unintrusive 24 hour reception with nice sweets and good English (thanks for that, my Spanish is very limited). Good restaurants with a range of (affordable) prices very nearby. The Spa is excellent (with reservations mentioned elsewhere). If you like to cycle the hotel rents bikes :-). Mosquitoes. Dirty room which didn't get any cleaner; bathroom sink not cleaned at all during our 3 night stay. Furniture and textiles have seen better days. Spa not included!! It's a separate business and located without private entrance for hotel guests, ie. no privacy. The website lacked relevant information to enable visitors to bring the equipment required for entry to the Spa.
Good location and general standard of room etc. Staff did not explain fully some queries - e.g. they led us to understand bus to Vitoria airport would go all way to airport and it didn't!!
very helpful staff, gave us a map & booklet on Bilbao free parking a little noisy with the window open
Clean, generous room, excellent location near old quarter. 50m from a pleasant tram ride to the Guggenheim. Limited parking
Excellent service and great to have free parking in the city centre. The twins are bigger than the doubles if space is important to you.
Nice room with wifi (quite strong signal), helpful staff, perfect location - close to the casco viejo (5-10 minutes walk) and tram station going to the main attraction (Guggenheim Museum) Breakfasts could be better (for these who do not prefer cereals nor cakes there is an option of a toast with jam... no ham, no cheese)
quiet hotel of character in a small square a stones throw from the tram terminus
Front desk staff were extremely helpful and courteous. Very quiet room on the second floor. All public transportation easily accessed from hotel. A suggestion: perhaps manually controlled vent fans to give the air in the rooms a bit more circulation as it can be quite humid
I travelled with my teen-age son and we spent 4 nights at the Sirimiri hotel. The location of the hotel was perfect for sightseeing and walking about the old part of town. It is literally 3 min from the old town with all the bars and taverns and a very pleasant 15 - 20 min walk to pretty much everything else - the Theater, Cathedrals, the Guggenheim Museum, Termibus bus terminal. It is 1 min walk from the Atxuri train station (trains to San Sebastian) and a tram stop. At the same time, the hotel is located in a quiet side street right next to a small square with a beautiful church and a couple of beer/breakfast places. The hotel staff was very helpful in explaining to us the location of things we wanted to vist while at the same time completely non-obtrusive. They were always there when we needed them and had complete regard for our privacy. I am grateful for their kindness and human feeling!! I do not have any complaints about the hotel itself, except that there is a construction site right next to it but they operate during working hours when tourists are expected to be out and about town.
Hotel staff very helpful. No Bar
Location is great, next to the old town and next to tram line. Private parking for free behind the building, easy to get in and out. Helpful staff. Nice room for 3, with 2 windows, TV, big beds, very clean. Nice, new and very clean bathroom. Will stay there again. Excellent value for money comparing to other hotels in Bilbao. I'd suggest adding more light/lamps for the nighttime, it's dark in the room with the shutters closed.
Very friendly and helpful staff!
Great food in Bilbao and Fabulous Gugenheim Museum. Lighting in room was minimal and it was difficult to see in the room, especially over the bench where suitcases were placed and there was no overhead lighting.
High tech design and decor + close to Guggenheim and casco viejo Should have had free internet access not just WiFi for those with laptops
Very modern and stylish hotel
Everything about this hotel is 5 star - staff, service, quality and location. except the price through booking.com is only 3 star! Brilliant place.
Rooms are spacious, clean and modern. Also very quiet. I had a really enjoyable stay there.
The position of hotel with the coloured glass windows overlooking the river - superb spot to sit in the room and just view the river and only 5 mins walk to Guggenheim Musuem. The restaurant was lovely and also had a very good bar with tapas - excellent. Bathroom decor glamourous.
We enjoy the fact that the Hotel was so close to downtown Bilbao and close to so many atractions. The Hotel staff was very friendly and spoke many laguages ( Spanish, French, english etc.)
close to Guggenheim and tram stop to old town
Excellent & convenient location, very helpful and pleasant staff. View on the river from our room was beautiful. Room was spacious. The room was always very clean, but so much chlorine bleach was used in the laundering of bed linen and towels the whole room smelled enough to make us ill! The water also seems to be very chlorinated. Our pajamas smelled like bleach and there is simply no excuse for this as non-smelling bleachs do exist!
Hotel is in a good location, overlooking the river, 10 min walk to Guggenheim, 15 min walk to old town. Hotel is clean, good facilities (bar, restaurant), rooms are well-appointed and bathrooms have a decent bath and shower. Breakfast is expensive if not included in price.
the location and neighborhood are good, it's comfortable to take a walk there. we booked a double bed room in advance, but they gave us a twin bed room and didn't explain anything to us
location and price
Two female travelers: Comfortable beds, safe, clean room. Just across the cool foot bridge to everything downtown. Good location -- walkable to the Gugg. Very welcoming of foreigners and most of the staff speaks English very well and were able to communicate complicated transit directions to me (like how to get to the bus that takes you to the airport) despite my limited Spanish. We were even able to borrow an adapter for our phones. It's not "the perfect" central location, but good price relative to hotels that are right at the city center. If you want the air conditioning to cool you room down, leave a key in the placard when you leave for the day, otherwise it turns off to save energy. Room smelled clean and fresh. We were fine with the size of the bathroom area. The lobby sitting area needs a good dusting/cleaning and maybe new carpet in the hallways.
Close to Guggenheim museum The smallest single room I have ever had. No accesible plugs for working in the room's desk, I had to bend beneath the desk and unplug the refrigerator. Wifi working very poorly. Not good conditions for a business hotel.
Good reasonably priced food, clean comfortable room, nice bar area and also met some nice people. NA
Rooms, Location, Breakfast, Hotel staff Too much people; problems with internet connection; the internet is not free of charge.
Its location was excellent, as the Old Town, shopping area, bus and train stations were so easily accessible. Also liked the location along the river. Our room was located at the back of the hotel, and was very quiet.
close to major city attraction
Central location Internet isn´t free
Clean room, easy access, you can walk almost to every city's corner. Price of breakfast
It was a welcomed surprise. Stayed only one night and had to catch a flight in the morning. The staff was very helpful even though we spoke very little spanish, and arranged for a cab the next morning. Overall it was a pretty good value.
The Hotel is good value and very central. In an old building but modern and up to date inside. The parking facilities are based on a few metered areas up to half a mile away. This is understandable and was not a big problem for me, but it could be for some and should be made clear on the web site. It is not possible to get near the Hotel by car as it is in a pedestrian area. Again this should be made clear.
Excellent hotel for the price - great location and the owners are very freindly.
The wonderful historic character of the building and the central location in the old historic quarter. It can be noisy in that area but that is not a criticism as such of the hotel, which has lovely windows and balcony and proper shutters.
A very clean family run hostal, with fantastic views in the external rooms.Bang in the centre of the Casco Viejo (Old Town) in Bilbao surrounded by shops, bars, restaurants with easy access to Bilbao's fantastic cheap and regular public transport. The lift stops about half a dozen steps below the floor the hostal is on not a big issue unless you have problems carrying cases etc.
Excellent location in charming central Bilbao. Located second floor in a rebuild flat in one of the petestrian streets in the old town. Friendly and helpful owners also residing at Pension Roquefer . Some street noise during the night due to guests going home late at night from restaurants and bars. No breakfast available. Public parking quite far away.
clean room and central- friendly people fairly basic and difficult to find-
Excellent breakfast, laptop in room, good shower, exercise bike
Availability of internet service, location of hotel
Best hotel i´ved stay till now
I love the ecclectic concept of the hotel. Different from any other place I've stayed. none
Nice hotel, located at the beach. Rooms were ok. Restaurants nearby. Bilbao can be easily reached by metro. We had a large balcony but there were'nt any chairs !
A nice hotel in a good location with friendly and helpful staff
Rooms with sea views... beds kept rolling around as you moved on them... not for couples! Very well designed rooms and decor excellent. Poor information about services - no information leaflets whatever in the rooms, nothing about charges for the supplied laptop in the room. Workmen drilling the outside walls and fixing meant a lot of noise even with the windows closed. Very hard to find this hotel when driving from the airport, poorly signed in the area. Staff seemed struck dumb.
the beds were small and the queen size bed would roll apart into 2 single beds without wnting tat to happen
i liked the free access to internet, with a laptop installed in all the rooms i didn't like not being inforñed that all common parts were under construction. They are renewing reception and restaurant, but it will look good at the end...Luckily the rooms were already done and looking very nice.
Staff very polite and business like. Could do with a kettle, coffee and tea in room.
The amazing views, very peacefull
Extremely helpful staff, always willing to give assistance and guidance on local information. They all spoke very good English.
Hotel was amazing - beautifully finished and amazing views over the water. The air con didn't seem to work that well and the restaurant was closed - we weren't aware of this when we booked and as there isn't much around the hotel, this was an inconvenience. However, the food in the cafetaria although pricey was very good.
Very helpfull staff, excellent restaurant and nice rooms
Great helpful staff who spoke English well and a nice location with a good view. A little away from the central hub of Bilbao but easy accessible. No but it was very popular with locals for the restaurant as well as the guests so it was a busy little hotspot for occasions, family, kids and couples until around 11 pm each night on the patio. Probably not suited for a quiet getaway but good for socializing.
Very pleasant staff and very well located
The room was comfortable. Car parking was an underground car park at the hotel (at a cost) and was very easily accessible. One of the main reasons that I booked the hotel was because it had a restaurant and I could eat at the hotel after a long drive. On arrival I was told that I could not eat at the hotel due to a wedding and that it was a 30 minute walk to a place where I could find somewhere to eat. I was not offered a reduction in the price of the room for not being able to use the facilities for which I had paid to use.
Its location - in easy reach of ferry port and metro into main city. The restaurant staff were not very friendly or attentive.
Hotel is good and clean. The big artistic column(?) made of gravels is very impressive. The staffs in front desk are not very professional. They charged me twice because they didn't check that they charged on my credit card when I booked using booking.com. So, I'm arguing rightnow. Be careful, everybody!!!
extremely good location
Location, generosity of staff (postcards, newspapers) Not able to get a la carte breakfast in dining room.
Found the garage and before we climbed out of our van your cheerful bellman was greeting us in English. He made a great first impression. He was there when we left and we left him 2 bottles of wine to say thanks for his help. We needed a van cab for our luggage and he was quite helpful in arranging it for us. Clerks at counter were very helpful in finding places, showing you on maps, making suggestions. Loved the look of the hotel, fountains, decor, etc. Great place!
good location, clean modern facilities and friendly staff
The hotel was excellent - helpful staff and beautiful décor. The location was also superb. No.
Ideal location, nice staff, amazing view from the 7th floor. Room was spotless, spacious,... Really nice But, really bad noise insulation. This is a 3* criteria! A shame for a 5* hotel. You can hear doors closing in the corridor and toilets flushing from neighboring rooms.
The location with respect to the Guggenheim was perfect and the eating facilities, breakfast buffet. bar, and restaurant were excellent The actual room was awkwardly shaped such that there was a pillar that severely limited the seating at the bench. The television had to be on this bench but was too far away from the bed to allow the ticker on the news screens to be read. The WiFi required a new password every day
The breakfast at the last floor of the hotel, with a direct view to the Gugenheim was wonderful. I was welcomed by a nice woman, talking at least 3 different languages: spanish, english and french! Price of the breakfast was a bit high for the quality.
Great location, friendly staff. Smoke from bar on ground floor spreading to all floors of the hotel. Noisy street (although not the hotel's fault)
Comfortable rooms in good location
Personal and historical outlooks of the hotel. Polite service. Close to the meeting place. Wireless internet access in the rooms was not available free as it was stated in the internet pages. That was a big disappointment because that is why we chose the 5 star hotel.
Beautiful hotel, good location, friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast
Excellent central position. Friendly staff
This is the best small luxury hotel of Bilbao at a veru reasonable price.
Everything. Good location, pleasant, efficient and helpful staff and service
small, personal, quaint
Staff is amazing. Location is perfect. Rooms are large and comfortable.
As a so called "5 Star" hotel there was no possibility to change days unless pay for one day. Very poor. We will not recommend this hotel and we do both work in travel agent industry.
