Le Petit Potager - Sonnac-sur-l'Hers - Building

9.7 Excellent (95 reviews)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our hosts Lisa & Terry are very friendly and helpful. The vegetarian dinner prepared by Terry was excellent. Even though we didn't have time to book the dinner for a friend of us who was in the region, Lisa & Terry managed to serve him as well. The hamau and the rooms are charming and very clean. We had a very good breakfast with croissants, home made jams and bread, eggs from their own chicken. What more one can expect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Le Petit Potager was amazing, from the moment we arrived to home made cookies and coffees and friendly faces. The rooms were beautiful and breakfast was amazing. A wonderful place. It was hard to leave.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: We so enjoyed our stay at le Petit Potager and only wish it had been longer. What a beautiful house in a stunning location and surrounded by an idyllic garden. Terry and Lisa couldn’t have been more accommodating, even letting me check in early. We hope to come back soon!

Pros: What a nice surprise! We stayed at Le Petit Potager because it was close to Chalabre where a friend was hosting a music festival. Our hosts were friendly and welcoming, the house and rooms are thoughtfully decorated, the beds were comfortable and breakfast was amazing.
Cons: The only thing we didn't like was that we could not stay longer!

Pros: Fantastic location and very nice hosts. Very peaceful location, lovely and very clean room.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful hosts, charming decor and environment. Garden is delightful. Wonderful breakfast
Cons: It’s a long winding drive from a place of any size (Chalabre). Not easy driving at night
10.0 Excellent
Pros: That was by far the best fare/home stay ever. Not only was the place charming with a glorious garden, the hosts, Terry and Lisa were delightful and extremely knowledgeable about Languedoc and it’s history. Next time in the area it will be Le petit Potager for us. Dr Frank and Mrs Ingrid Moloney
Cons: The dog down the road in the next farm who refused to let me pass!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Out of the way setting. amazing scenery. Beautifully and sympathetically restored cottage, comfortable. Hosts were welcoming and the option of eating in worked really well as it would be quite a drive to restaurants, especially as the food was great. Honesty bar and option of carafe of local bio wine with dinner was great. Veggie/vegan friendly too. Lots of advice about where to go for my morning run - which was stunning - on the banks of Montbel lake which we later enjoyed a swim in.

Pros: From the warm welcome, the comfy bed, the fabulous breakfast and the new friendship we formed with Irene we LOVED it all. Chez Irene is truly a home away from home, and nothing seems to be too much trouble for Irene. We stayed for 5 days and she was so helpful; arranging taxis, suggesting places to visit and taking such great care of us! Do yourself a favour and stay at this gorgeous, friendly home... especially if you like puppies!

Pros: Irene was a wonderful host, and the location was perfect for what I was looking for, as was attending a wedding in the area. The room was clean, tidy and comfy. And the bathroom facilities were to a great modern spec. Breakfast was great too!
Cons: I would only say, look at the location, this is very much off the beaten track... so come prepared, there are no local shops walking distance I believe.. having a car is a bonus!

Pros: the breakfast was real good value for money and loved the locally produced apple juice and fresh fruit
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is simple clean and comfortable. The welcome is warm and service helpful and efficient. The food was exceptionally delicious and well priced for the quality of ingredients. We were travelling with three dogs. We were made very welcome. We really enjoyed our couple of days in Chalabre and this was in no small part due to Didier and his team. Thank you.
7.0 Good
Cons: Difficalt to communicate no English speakers
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I have seen the hotel from the outside many years back. I was surprised and loved how the decor was fresh and lovely. The room was comfortable, quiet and spacious. The bathroom was big - but see below for more comments.
Cons: The only thing I can say is that whoever designed the bathroom should be sacked. Only in a French toilet would you find the toilet, the paper holder and the heater cramped up in one small space. In a rather large Bathroom. Im no design person, but really this is cramped. Otherwise it was lovely.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I appreciated the size of the bedroom, the view from the bedroom, the proximity to cash machines, shops and a cafe. The village was quaint and attractive and a good location for distressing and relaxing. I respected the effort made by the owners, and the meal served in the quaint and truly French restaurant was delicious.
Cons: This hotel has so much potential and would benefit greatly from a lift. I prefer to have two pillows per person.
