With a stay at Hotel Rural La Rosa de los Tiempos in Villaobispo, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Museo del Chocolate and Palacio Episcopal. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Lovely place to stay. The house is very nicely set out and decorated in an interesting and thoughtful way. Each room is decorated by theme and ours was the Arabe room. There is a great garden, library, terrace and seating area and Rosa and Fernando are very nice and helpful. The breakfast was delicious with home made cake and jam using fruit from the garden. Perfect
Pros: Lovely location and a super welcoming couple - amazing accommodation
Pros: Wow! Rosa and Fernando are incredible hosts at this unique property! After walking all day on the Camino, Fernando picked us up in his van and drove us to the property. We were too tired to go into town for dinner, so Rosa whipped up an incredible dish with fresh vegetables from her garden. In the morning, breakfast was lovely with homemade breads and jams. Fernando drove us back to the Camino route after breakfast. Our room was cozy and tidy. The rooms are each uniquely decorated. There is an artsy feel to the place. It was a memorable experience, but mostly because of the hospitality of the wonderful hosts.
Cons: The only issue for us was no door on the bathroom. Slightly awkward when sharing a room with a friend. We managed though!
Pros: Rosa & Fernando made us feel very welcome. Rosa cooked us 2 lovely dinners which we enjoyed in their garden. The breakfast was also very nice with homemade cakes and jams on offer. The house is quirky and interesting with themed rooms. The rooms are spacious and clean. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you
Pros: Really great hosts, awesome food (both breakfast and dinner), lovely property.
Pros: The house is located on the outskirts of the city, but just in a few minutes drive from the center. The place itself is absolutely lovely and the hosts are probably the friendliest we've ever met. Rooms are beautifully decorated, each in different style. Breakfast was exquisite.
Cons: Nothing. Everything was better than expected.
Pros: The hosts, Rosa and Fernando, obviously are proud of their hotel rural which is comfortable, spacious and interesting. Rosa presented us with a beautiful dinner and breakfast using some homegrown vegetables.
Pros: Excellent, small hotel with a beautiful garden and shared spaces, with a lot of character. The hotel and its surroundings are beautiful and romantic, for couples. For pilgrims on the Camino, it is well worth the extra short journey from Astorga--do *not* let its non-central location dissuade you. The hosts, Rosa and Fernando, were incredible and did their best to accommodate and feed us (with homemade cooking and fresh ingredients from the garden). A true hidden gem.
With a stay at Hotel Spa Ciudad de Astorga by Portblue Boutique in Astorga, you'll be just steps from Museo de los Caminos and Palacio Episcopal. Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and a 24-hour front desk. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Pros: I stayed here while walking the Camino de Santiago and it was a very un-pilgrim experience, which was just what I needed at the time. This is a boutique hotel with all the bells and whistles, very luxurious, and about as far away from an albergue as you can get. The staff, backpack and trekking poles notwithstanding, was very welcoming and professional. The breakfast buffet was very good. The hotel was right on the Camino path and conveniently next to the Cathedral.
Pros: The location is great thanks to its surroundings: Bishop palace and Cathedral.
Cons: I did not like the breakfast. It was rather poor and not worthy the money. The restaurant staff was rather maladroit. The quality of the food was just ok.
Pros: The Spa is wonderful, worth the 14 euros to go there.
Cons: Time in spa was 1 hour 15 minutes, which I can understand in high season, but we were there in November.
Pros: Excellent location right at the historical centre
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Small parking but it is in town so to be expected
Pros: Clean and modern
Cons: Adjusted temperature, but little to no change. Rather warm.
Pros: Large, sunny room. Lovely bathroom, generally really comfortable. A great treat while walking the Camino de Santiago!!
Cons: The spa facilities weren't offered to me or mentioned at check in
Pros: The hotel was impeccable. Spotlessly clean and our room was spacious and well appointed. Actually we liked everything about the hotel
Cons: There was nothing not to like about Hotel Spa Cuidad de Astoega. It was the perfect break from the Camino
Located in Brazuelo, Hotel Temple Pradorrey is in the mountains, within a 10-minute drive of Museo del Chocolate and Astorga Cathedral. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services and luggage storage. This hotel has 2 meeting rooms available for events. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Pros: Location is good.
Cons: We didn't receive towels in the hotel. Also a special request for room type at the booking stage was not met. Breakfast was very basic and the bathrooms next to the dinning area for not usable as they have not been cleaned in a while.
Pros: Nothing except the young man that checked us in - he was lovely. The place was in the middle of no where with no food no bar no nothing. It was run down looking and our room was not clean and had dodgey electricals.
Pros: The room was fine there only appeared to be 1 staff member. He was pleasant and helpful but the whole place seemed more suited to groups of Pilgrims on the Camino rather than casual tourists.
Cons: It was a very large building with a run down appearance
Cons: The restaurant was not open and there is not place to eat near the hotel.
Pros: We met the manager on the way to breakfast and he suggested we would get a better one in Astorga which we did
Cons: We arrived at the hotel at 13-30 and reception as closed with a notice displayed that it would re-open circa 16-00.We were shown to a room which was adequate. The following morning we experienced low water pressure in the bathroom which ceased entirely after a few minutes. We then decided to leave and never return
Pros: The rest of the hotel was very nicely decorated, almost like a castle. They would really benefit from a renovation in the rooms to get them to the level of the rest of the hotel
Cons: The rooms where very updated although huge. The beds had no blanket!!! Only a summer duvet cover. We had only two blankets in the closet for 4 people. We were very cold. The room was full of very big flies.. Not very nice.
Pros: the location, close to Astorga city center, and the easy access by the main highway to those who have a car. The attention and kindness of staff is also to be highlighted
Cons: nothing to highlight
The Hotel Spa Vía de la Plata provides a great place for travelers to relax after a busy day. There's plenty to do nearby, with Archbishop's Palace (Palacio Episcopal), and Es Vedra Bar Astorga all just a both distance away. At the end of a busy day, travelers can unwind and relax in the hotel or go out and enjoy the city. There's never a dull moment at this hotel, our guests indicate that the facilities are excellent.
Pros: A modern, smart hotel in an excellent location. The room was light and airy and very comfortable. Secure parking nearby but is a stiff walk up 70 steps so unload luggage at the front of the hotel first! I understand that there is limited parking on the reception level for those with restricted mobility. The hotel telephoned me a few days before our stay to tell me to check in and unload first and to check whether I wanted to book any spa passes. The Spa was great and very reasonably priced for the facilities and treatments offered.
Cons: The breakfast was nothing special. A good selection of cold choices but the hot dishes were very restricted and tired. I suspect that they are brought in from another location. We asked the waitress for eggs but were told that they weren't available.
Pros: Beautifully modern stylish & clean
With a stay at Hostal Juli in San Justo de la Vega, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Museo del Chocolate and Museo Romano de Astorga. Featured amenities include multilingual staff, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The room was a fairly good size and it had a balcony. The parking was good, onsite. WIFI worked well. A friendly cafe on the corner, turn right as you come out of the front door.
Cons: The rooms are above a bar which was noisy when we arrived but OK in the night time. There was a smell of smoke in the room, customers for the bar smoking outside around the corner from the window. For the money it was fine, ideal if you just want to stop off and get your head down. Staff a bit busy to attend / welcome us.
Pros: I got worried when I read the reviews about this place but it was a nice surprise. The room was perfect, clean and there is a TV where you can change the language to English. The food was ok. Bathroom is small but manageable.
Cons: Pity there was no smile on the stuff who was running the place. Thin paper walls, but this seems to be normal at all hostels i stayed
Pros: It was fine.
Pros: Location right on the Camino, good meals in the restaurant. Nice price.
Cons: Lots of flies in the area, no A/C, so many in the room, had to keep windows shut on a warm afternoon
Cons: Just that I could hear the person in the next room talking until the early morning hours.
Pros: The hostal was quiet and clean and a welcome respite from the people-crush of the Camino
Pros: The bed was very comfortable, the dinner was excellent
Cons: The shower didnt drain well
Pros: Easy to find. Good restaurant across the road. Easy to get to Astorga the next morning.
Cons: The street out the front had plenty of trucks so it was too noisy to leave the balcony door open. But no complaints of any substance

Pros: Perfect for parking which looked a nightmare in Astorga. Very good and friendly restaurant next door; beware the doorstep meat portions
Cons: Very hot in early August without air con, but the price reflected this. Traffic passing by 24/7 on the road outside.

Pros: Great location and a safe place to park my motorcycle
Cons: Nothing to dislike
Pros: The young man at the desk the day I arrived was a very nice person. He helped me arrange my room for the following night. He was very friendly and cheerful and happy to help. The hotel was excellent in all respects, but he made it extra special.
Pros: Good location on Plaza Mayor Good size room
Pros: Everything, from the polite staff responding to emails before 6am in morning to beautifully laid out breakfast for one person
Cons: One tiny thing, the swinging door in the shower would not turn all way to lock on edge of bath so was interfering with my bath.
Pros: Fantastic location on the main square in Astorga, a short walk from the bus station and famous landmarks the cathedral, Gaudí's Bishop's palace, the chocolate museum etc. Staff is very helpful, the bar/restaurant downstairs serves good food and I hear there is a spa but we arrived late and left early so never found out. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom lovely and clean. I have stayed there several times before starting my camino from Astorga, and undoubtedly will again. Well worth the price!
Pros: Clean, comfortable and luxurious room right in the centre of Astorga.
Pros: Well equipped large room, clean and comfortable functional hotel, with a good choice of breakfast items. Great location just off the Camino in the old town on a beautiful square (though I imagine it can be noisy in the front rooms in peak season)
With a stay at Hostal Restaurante Delfin in Astorga, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Museo del Chocolate and Astorga Cathedral. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful
Cons: Noisy, dirty and too far away from the Camino.
Pros: Fairly clean room
Cons: No concern for Pilgrims on the way as dinner did not begin until 9. Located on a busy highway with lots of noise. Staff appeared bothered by our presence. This is basically a truck stop along a highway.
Hostal Coruña is located 300 metres from Astorga Cathedral and Gaudi Palace, at the meeting point of the French Santiago Route and Roman Silver Route. There is private onsite parking for bicycles and cars for a supplement. Free parking is available nearby and there is easy access to the AP71 and A6 Motorways.
Pros: Rooms size were OK for this kind of hotel, Room space was clean. WiFi was free and worked OK inside the room. Bathroom was spacious, clean and didn't have any maintenance problems; everything was in perfect working conditions. The hostal is located at the city exit, but the city center is still at a walkable distance. Car parking in the street is free and there are many free places
Cons: Mattresses didn't gave that good sleeping comfort, as some kind of plastic protection was under the bed linen. Also blankets or mattresses were a bit smelly, although bed sheets seemed clean. Reception/check-in closes at 11 PM, thus you have to carry the keys all day long with you (and the key-ring is quite big ...).
Pros: We had a nice stay. It's a 10 minute walk to the cathedral and restaurants. Room was very nice and staff friendly. We enjoyed the chocolate museum, Astorga is a great town to spend some time in!
Pros: Staff were amazing, we also had a safe place to store our bikes
Pros: A functional hotel on the Camino. On the way out of Astorga so it saves some time in the morning. Kinda far from town centre if that matters.
Cons: The restaurant was dirty and the place was very noisy.
Pros: Private bathroom with bath, close to laundromat, comfortable beds
With a stay at Hotel Gaudí in Astorga, you'll be just steps from Astorga Cathedral and Museo de la Catedral. Featured amenities include a business center, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Pros: Lovely understated hotel. Very comfortable. Great location near cathedral
Pros: Great location across from Gaudi’s Episcopal Palace and the Cathedral
Pros: Exceptionally comfortable bed
Pros: The staff was very friendly. Someone was at the desk when we arrived and checked us in right away. The room was very clean with very comfortable beds.
Cons: There wasn't anything that we didn't like. The whole experience was very pleasant.
Pros: Good location across from the Palace
Cons: Disorganized staff at checkin - clearly flustered by both checkin and bar duty at same time. Mattress not great - light and slipped over bed frame. Noisy wooden floors with guests wandering around late at night. Asked to pay again at checkout as they had misplaced payment details. Had to go through a proof as they would not believe me until it was proven by receipts. No apology. Basically - overrated. Not recommended.
A stay at Imprenta Musical Alojamiento places you in the heart of Astorga, within a 5-minute walk of Museo del Chocolate and City Hall. Featured amenities include multilingual staff and an elevator.
Pros: The room was nice and clean with a balcony and terrace . Next door there is a restaurant.
Pros: Modern facilities, comfortable and clean. Reception staff extremely friendly and helpful, be it in Spanish.
Pros: Everything was great! The restaurant next door also very good and service also excellent!
Cons: Toilet brush in bathroom could be cleaner.
Pros: Not much
Cons: It was a sterile version of a motel6.
Pros: Clean and staff most helpful.
Pros: The staff was superb (very helpful). The restaurant attached was some of the best food on my Camino walk. The room was clean and the outside street was quiet. It is only 5 min walk to Astorga Cathedral.
Cons: The bed was extremely hard. The hardest bed on my Camino. Along with the hard pillows that were provided were very uncomfortable. Sadly, you can hear every word someone is speaking outside the door and the sitting area. Every time someone when in or out of their room, you can hear the door slam. If staying here bring ear plugs especially if you want an afternoon nap after your Camino walk. Also make sure not to arrive too early because you won't get checked int until 130 pm or later.

Pros: So charming, great setting. Best meal we had on our trip to Spain!
Pros: Very good host and clean rooms
Cons: Bathroom seperated from the room
Pros: What a fantastic place. The owner lady is so kind and caring. Would not hesitate to stay again
Pros: Helpful friendly staff. I loved the breakfast, served family style to mingle with other guests, plus it was a real breakfast with eggs etc. Location great.
Cons: Acoustics in rooms (at least my room) were poor--conversations from next room clear as a bell. Also....I like a hotel with a clear, convenient common room (living room) where a guest can read, write or choose to mingle with other guests. This was lacking, but to be fair, it is lacking in many new, high end hotels as well!
Pros: Very comfortable place to stay right off the Camino and within easy walking distance to all of the sites and restaurants in Astorga. Host was just lovely and the breakfast was great!
Pros: Everything was fabulous!
Pros: Welcoming arrival. Friendly staff. Great breakfast. Lovely character room.
Cons: We would have liked to stay longer but there was no room.

Pros: The kindness, the advices on places to visit and restaurants, the passion of the owner in decorating the house. The home made jam and the orange juice of the breakfast.

Pros: Beautiful room. Nice bathroom. Very comfortable.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind. It was really a very friendly nice place to stay.
Pros: The room
Cons: That the beds were 2 singles together
Pros: Wasn’t worth the 55 Euro price. Room was basic, the reception person showed us our room and then which gate to go through when we left in the morning.
Pros: Great Family run Casa . Rooms were bright and very clean! Very comfortable! Food was awesome and Flora the owner was a very lovely lady! I would recommend this place!

Cons: Staff member who checked us in was a bit grumpy and really not that interested in the fact that we had walked 30km that day on the Camino!
Pros: Very comfortable bed. Very well appointed room.
Pros: Old luxury
