It was close to the beach The rooms were too small. The rooms were not ready by 3

Good location. Staff person at check in was sweet and eager to please. Malfunctioning and difficult to use shower. Staff person in the morning was not personable which is the nicest way I can put it. The continental breakfast looked so stale and old (e.g. withered apples) that I didn't bother to take anything.
The hotel staff was very helpful and promptly answered all requests with a smile. This was a brief stay to play (2 games) at the Tahoe Ice Center. The property is VERY conveniently located closeby, and near the Safeway/Starbucks. I'd go back. The beds did not have a border to keep things from getting 'under the bed' When something bounced under I was frightened. No fridge.
location the staff was not friendly at all , was not helpful, was very rude
Location. Walking distance to casinos and the beaches at Tahoe. Small room, run down overall. For the money spent ($130 a night), a very poor value for the money. I know it's high season in Tahoe, so rooms are expensive and at $130 a night, compared to rates at other motels near by, this was less expensive, but I got the feeling that because of the location, the owners here don't have to work very hard to sell out. It shows.
The place is literally a block away from california nevada stateline. Very accessible to heavenly ski resort which is very nice place to go. Since its at the border of california and nevada, you can walk couple of blocks and you'll be at nevada side, which means, you can gamble. The room needs renovation. Not bad for the value but definitely could be better. There are few lodges/motels/hotels that surrounds the place itself and therefore i think makes the owner dont bother to renovate the place. Since the lodge is very close to thr lake and a block away from nevada, it is very convinient and stay from.
The staff was very friendly and it is located just down the road from the lake. Me and family had a great time staying there. My only real complaint is that the pool was hot. It needs to be cooled down. It should not feel like I am getting into a hot tub. Plus it could use a cleaning.
The only thing convenient was that it was close to Harrah's 1. The pool was empty. My kids were looking forward to a vacation with swimming and the description said it had a heated pool but the pool was empty. 2. The room was extremely hot and the fan did not work. We had to open the window that was nailed shut, so my husband had to remove the nail to open the window otherwise we were in a room that was constantly 90 degrees. 3. Two doors down from us was a group of drug dealers who live there at the lodge and they tried to sell my husband drugs.
The housekeeping staff did a great job. The room was very clean. Front desk was courteous and helpful. Heater didn't work, never got above 60 in the room. Paper thin walls, not worth $157. Door leaked air a lot. "Fireplace" was a joke.
Affordable, good easy access location, everything within walking distance, quiet. No AC, No Fridge, No microwave
It was easy to find. The toilet wouldn't stop running. The hot water tap in the bath couldn't be turned off once turned on. There was a large wet patch on the carpet. The staff member was very off-hand when approached with these problems.
Clean, in good repair. My conformation email listed the "Total Price" as $32. Along with a note: "Please note: additional supplements (e.g. extra bed) are not added to this total." What I wasn't told was that taxes were not included. Misleading.
The room was very clean. The bed was comfortable and large - King Size The couple on Staff were difficult to understand and had difficulty understanding us due to language barrier. However, they were very friendly.
I thought the price was amazingly low for the room and the location was convenient The continental breakfast consisted of donuts only. I was disappointed.
this hotel is just near the Heavenly village
Nothing Yes, the continental breakfast was old donuts. The bed was terribly uncomfortable and the place in general needs a face lift. It just looks run down and dirty.
The continental breakfast was a few mini muffins, juice and coffee. That shouldn't even be called breakfast, it was snacks!
Location was great The room was more on the dirtier side It smelled like smoke which caused a headache No true breakfast, was just coffee and donuts
It had almost everything we needed, microwave, refrigerator, hairdryer for our ski trip. The staff is quite friendly and nice. The double room is small. The continental breakfast is only juice (mixed with water), coffee and cold donuts.
Close to Stateline. Overall the facility was definitely not maintained. I latched the deadbolt and had a very difficult time getting it off. If there had been a fire I probably would have had to go out the window. Carpet was among the top 3 dirtiest I have ever seen. No water in the pool which only lended to the overall appearance. Good place to sleep and go.
Not much. We will not stay there again. The pool was closed. The manager could not speak english. The manager did not understand the billing rate. The internet price did not reflect a 10% tax nor tack on fees. Motel was noisy. The shower was very small. The continental breakfast was fast food packets.
I liked that there was a fridge and a microwave. The refrigerator was was clean which was very nice. I liked how none of the colors and fabrics in the room matched, (floor, walls, curtains, comforter) it gave it a camping feeling. I really liked that. The bathroom was entirely too small. The pillows were too small/flat and the comforter had holes in it.
Good location. Nice small hotel for budget travel.
Great little spot away from Stateline. We wanted something closer to the beaches & with a more local feel, the Apex was it! Rooms are small but clean & have everything you need. Well definitely be back!
i didnt like one thing about the apex inn. the service was terrible, the rooms were way too small and they charged me extra for having a couple friends over at the room. overall very bad experience.
Clean, fridge, and easy access. You can hear every word from the televisions and people in the other rooms.
Management was nice respectful & helpful. Location was good. Having a Refrigerator & microwave was perfect.

great location; in downtown of South Tahoe The tv only had one working station which was in Spanish. Considering this hotel is located in Lake Tahoe, which is very cold in the winter time, not thick/warm enough blankets were provided. The heater did not work at all. Makeshift wire attached...
I only stayed one night. Great locaton, this hotel is walking distance from Harrah's casino and lots of other stuff. Its certainly not luxury but it was clean with plenty of hot water. and parking was included.
Easy parking My guess is that people only book this place sight unseen and rarely go back...
Customer service was great, very friendly, and curtitious. Beds and pillows were hard.
The bed was soft I hated almost everything about this place! There was a party downstairs with loud music until 10 then a group of girls screaming at the top of their lungs till 11!The building is extremely old and dirty and not maintained, i will never stay here again!

We got the King room with the heart shaped hot tub...excellent... we played right into the honeymoon theme. it was exciting.. our next visit we will defenitly book that room again. the office was closed and the phone # provided to call would not pick up
heater wouldn't turn back on after turning off. Wish there was a floor mat for both doors.
The staff was very friendly. They allowed pets. There were tv cable cords visible and going up the wall. The cable box was resting barely at the top of the tv. No fridge or Microwave or Coffee in the room like advertised. The room wasnt ready when we arrived. No light fixtures in the bathrooom. More...
The location is great because it's one of the closest motels to the Heavenly downtown. Cheap. Dirty, broken window and furniture, no towels etc, unorganized staff, ANTS!!!!
The location and proximity to Harvey's (we went to a concert) is the only decent thing about this place. The room smelled like chemicals/disinfectant, although the room did have a mini fridge it was put it such a weird place that you had to climb on and around one side if the bed to get to it. The shower was so desperately in need of remodeling the tile literally was stained with mold. The beds were in need if new pillows and an updated blanket/bedspread. I was honestly afraid to climb in. All this for $188/night. Wow!!!
The only thing that was great about the hotel was location. The front desk area was smelly , hotel front staff was friendly but not what I expected. Will never stay here again.
The location to the beach. No A/C. No pool. The room was far from clean. The hotel clerk had not changed his clothes since we checked in on Monday ad checked out on Wednesday. Possible bed bug bites? Whatever they are, all 4 people had bites all over.
This Inn was great! If you don't need a lot of space, it is great for the price. It was just my wife and myself and it was perfect size. Very clean, even smelled great. Right by the liquor store. Bus runs until about 1:00 AM to and from the casinos, or it is just a short drive or cab ride, 3 min. or so. I can't say enough about how well kept this place was. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful as well. Just remember, you're paying for a place to stay, not a place for a bunch of people to hang out all night. If you just need a place to stay after you hit the casinos, this is your place. A+
While circling Lake Tahoe the value was so good I returned a second night. Solid value!
This hotel is great if all you need it for is a place to sleep. If you're looking to be pampered or expect first-class amenities, this isn't for you - not a luxury hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Plus, you can't beat the price. I'd recommend it for people who just need a place to sleep and to store their stuff while they're off enjoying the lake and its surroundings
Just too outdated and old. Do not recommend for families. Young college students willing to sacrifice comfort to save a buck will be okay. Inconsistent showers. Also, theres a loud and continuous noise from the water pipes that is heard throughout all the rooms. I asked to switch rooms and it made no difference. Slept with the ipod running.
Old-fashoned 50's ''motel''. No air conditioning - got pretty warm. Smallest ''queen size'' bed I've seen. Some electric wall outlets didn't work. Shower was ''ship-sized'' (really small). I guess you get what you pay for.
I stayed here over Labor Day weekend for one night and it was basically a place to sleep. The room was small but it had a refrigerator and microwave which was super convenient considering that we came from Reno the night before and stayed at the El Dorado and they only had a tiny mini bar that you couldn't move anything or they would charge you! We took a cab to and from the hotel to the casinos. It worked out well.
We've stayed here twice now, and both times have enjoyed a clean, cheap place to stay with an awesome breakfast restaurant across the street. No frills, but close to Kirkwood!
the queen bed seemed more like a twin bed, for two people it was very small to sleep in.
Strictly for people where price is the highest priority. Housekeeping can only do so much when things are so old.
Stayed there for 3 nights. I liked it. Room was clean (style a little outdated) and staff was very friendly. Felt secure. A great place for little money. If you are on a budget, stay there !Would stay at the Lake Tahoe Inn again !
We booked the room to attend our friends wedding. It was clean, but small. The shower is very small. I woudl recommend this place if what you are looking for is a room to sleep in and return to after gambling or skiing. It is located very close to Stateline and the casinos which makes it convenient. One thing there is no AC, but there is a fan.
I liked pretty much nothing about my stay at Tahoe Valley Lodge. Where do I get started. First, the rooms look like they were decorated in the 1980s and after our first room was too dirty to stay in, we got transferred to a separate room. Although we didn't discover until much later, this room featured: a broken air conditioner, a big wet spot on the carpet that smelled faintly of vomit, ants in the bathroom, one mountain man looking dude as the only man on staff at all times, and a phone that looked like it was from early 1980. I do not understand how reviews can be so positive when this was the worst hotel I've been at in several years, and I actually paid more to come here given favorable reviews. I feel like I sucker and hope that you don't repeat my mistake.
The woodsy decor was a nice touch to the South Lake Tahoe hotel. Good location although a bit noisy near the main road. We did not realize that we would be charged $45 per child age 11 and 13 on top of the $195 plus tax that we paid, this was not a good value for us. It was in the web site we just did not see it.
quaint and cozy. recentle remodel. Unable to spend alot of time there. Good for the time we were there.
the silence & the swimming pool
Clean , pleasant staff , pool A bit pricey for its amenities and location
The convenience. Park your car and never have to leave. Free shuttle service to ski lifts which is conveniently located at even walking distance. Free shuttle service dropping off and picking up in town. After a day of boarding/skiing, heated pool, jacuzzi to soak up in. Restaurant and spa. Fully furnished condos with stocked kitchen, everything you can possibly need to cook homemade meals. Cozy fireplace. I look forward to returning There's nothing negative I can think of. Very satisfied with stay
The room was ready on time, very clean, and everything in the room was in great condition. The staff was friendly and courteous and we had a wonderful stay. We didn't use the hot tub or any of the communal facilities because we were too tired from spending all day at Lake Tahoe. When we go back to Tahoe, we would happily stay here again. The thermostat in our room didn't work, but we didn't complain to maintenance as we were just there for a couple of nights and could open the window. The view was pretty terrible because it overlooked the basketball court.
Nice view No air conditioning. Cooled down at night with fan and window cracked. Wind comes from resort side and we were on valley side which gets no breeze. They would not move us to other side.
The Tahoe Ridge is our favorite spot in South Lake. It's quiet, very clean and we look forward to our annual trip each year. There isn't anything negative to say about The Tahoe Ridge.
Beautiful property, nice staff, great views. They didn't honor my preferences for extra pillows. Didn't refill shampoo. Front desk closes at night. We left our room key in the room and had to track down Security who was very nice, to let us in.
The views, locations, the rooms and some staff members. Check in too late and check out too early.
Room was great and comfortable. The day of check out. Room service started knocking on our door at 9 am, knocked again at 930, then at 955 they decided to just walk in without knocking. Very disrespectful
Great price! Great bed, good space in room. Free shuttle down to casinos and back was an awesome perk! Very happy! Only thing I didn't like was 10 AM checkout. Other than that great place to stay for business or leisure.
Various on site activities and you don't have to leave if you don't want to. The Ridge has it all from swimming to basketball and on site skiing. Plus, a free shuttle unto Tahoe if you want to get away easily. They don't give you any shampoo or conditioner, so if you forget it the nearest fix is their overpriced store! Also, hate the 4:00 check in which doesn't make sense with the 10 am check out time!
After checking in at the main building, the room was not ready. The house keeper was still cleaning the room. My family had to wait over an hour to get settled in. It was a horrible experience.
I don't like this place too much.just stay one night.
The restaurant staff were very pleasant and courteous. There is no AC. This point cannot be stressed enough. Our room also had a hole in the wall and was missing basics like shampoo and coffee for the coffee maker. This "resort" is sort of tired - it is in need of updating all around. Everything looks about 10 years past due for maintenance or replacement.
