Staff were charming and very helpful. Location fantastic and bar extensive Hotel is a bit dated and not worthy of 5 star
Excellent breakfast included, nice bar First room had (147) some intermittent mechanical noise but I requested move and they complied
The whole experience - staff - accommodation - food N o
Noisy bar area with leaking roof
Location, leisure facilities Being woken by cleaners moaning about other cleaners not doing there job very loud
No Air Con in room only a broken floor standing fan.
Really good location for West Quay shopping Only grip was that the pillows were really hard and uncomfortable
the view from our window the breakfast wasnt as good as i expected, no pancakes!
We have now stayed twice at hotel and have found staff helpful and atmosphere very relaxing n/a
very pleased with all areas of the hotel ,i have no complaints at all.
The high standard of service
Room was large, well appointed and clean. More than I needed for the night, but recommended to me and with a late arrival I preferred a traditional hotel. No breakfast or coffee.
ony the above, rudeness of a member of staff
Good breakfast Uncomfortable beds. No decent tv. Swimming pool out of use. Small rooms.
The exercise room is fantastic and so are the people. The breakfast was amazing, clean, and hot. Need to replace the carpeting on floor 4. The bathrooms are new. the furniture in good shape, but the carpeting is horrible.
Convenient for cruise Paying for car park
food in the restraunt was fantastic, staf were very friendly
Friendly and helpful staff Soiled clothing items from a previous guest left in the room.
Friendly informative staff, excellent breakfast, unique design of bedroom, bathroom and lighting Bedroom was too warm at night. difficult to open windows and would have been noisy
Good location nice gym and small pool a good hotel for business or leisure.I was however charged twice on my credit card and this was resolved by the management Food was expensive considering the local restaurants that were available in the area. GBP13.50 for breakfast seems on the high side when the IBIS Hotel was half of that price
the rooms were a good size and warm. there were no hand towels or wash cloths in room.
adam was very helpful breakfast price too high
Excellent staff, very friendly and helpful. Cost was brilliant really good value for money. Very few T.v channels, parking is additional cost and ticket did not work properly.
Value for money Adjoining door meant that the drunk males next door were very audible early into the morning
hotel was ideal for our stay there for the cruise..rooms were basic and affordable..very friendly staff......
Staff were very friendly Towels were too small and mattresses too thin
This hotel experience was very poor. Nothing was to put into this box Hotel staff were ineficient, poor attention to clients. Both check in & check out were incorrectly handled.Breakfast food was poor & the service very poor.
All the staff are very accommodating and always happy to help. The beds are the most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept in, they consist of a piece of wood/MDF on supports with a mattress on top, rock hard..
Comfortable, good tv, convenient location Small room, poor sound insulation, hairdryer amnd extra pillows only available on request.
hotel is close to all amenities and also the docks for cruise ships also right next to the train station no complaints
Value for money welcoming stay close to amenities None
Staff very helpful and polite when asked for help. Limited choice of meals.
Interesting decor good central location Poor bathroom plumbing and type of shower fitments, try Mira
We thought the restaurant attractive with the most delicious selection of food. The wine offer was very reasonable
It was in bad shape, carpets dirty and in need of decorating
It's easy city location was perfect for the intended weekend's activities. The refurbishment complimented made a ambience of culture in a city that has been revitalised by inner investment
The history and the information about the hotel. The connection to Jane Austen. The mix of old and modern and accessability to the ferry to the Isle of Wight being just a walk away, which suited our needs because of time limitations. It could improve by modernisation but must retain its original identity.
This hotel is excellently situated if you are going on a cruise and want to be relatively near the docks. West Quay shopping centre two minutes walk away. Hotel also has own large car park. Food and service in hotel restaurant is very good. Would definitely stay there again. Bathroom lighting very dim.
Access when returning late at night was poor with no onbgious way in - no sign on night bell. Noisy night club within building although not audible from our room. Room decor was poor and somewhat spartan.
Friendly and helpful staff on check in. Really excellent room, clean, warm and nicely decorated. Nothing, although we didn't eat there so can't comment on that.
Free Parking Cost of Food & Drink
Position was very good and we checked in early with no problems
Breakfast was excellent There was no bath mat (or towel mat) so had to step onto tiled floor coming out of shower. Kettle didn't work and the glass lamp shade over my bed came off and hit me on the head.
upgraded to a double, friendly staff, goodbreakfast. No tv controls, map of southampton displayed somewhere would be useful.
The history in the hotel, and the warm comfortable feeling you get when you walk in.Attended a wedding at the Dolphin two doors away which hs has a refit found it cold and clinical.Breakfast was great!! and the Hot Water Bedrooms could do with a bit of decoration, however they are working on that room by room
Friendly reception Breakfast was awful
no mirrow in bedroom, lights very dim.
Good breakfast, very clean Shower output was feeble
Staff very good and sorted out our problem quickly. Breakfast very good The first room we were given hadnt been cleaned so not a great start and the hotel is very very worn in appearence with it having an old musty smell in places. However when we complained about room this was quickly address and a different room that appeared newer was given by an apologetic member of staff.
its location and parking view of multistorey carpark
Better than others I have stayed at for under £50 for single ..
location, price and staff behaviour there should be safe deposit boxes in the rooms
Location and good room no
The room was larger than expected and the location was great! We had stayed at Premier in Glasgow and didn't like the room as much as this one in Southampton although both locations were excellent being close to transit. Check in/Check Out seemed a bit disorganized. There were so many people checking out so we understood but felt that things could have gone smoother. Otherwise we enjoyed this hotel and cleaning staff were great too.
It was near the port and the main mall and easy walking distance to many of the sites we wanted to see. An easy walk to the train and buses. Check in area in the lobby is very small
Hotel is relatively new. Staff is helpful. Common areas and room was very clean. Restaurant was ok. Service can be very slow. We would stay here again.
Great place to meet a cruise ship. Long expensive bus ride from LGK. Breakfast & dinner was good value.
Hotel is located very close to the Southampton Port from which we took our cruise, as well as the National Express bus terminus. It is also very close to a very interesting shopping centre The hotel is quite new so it shows very well.
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
For a place to stay close to cruise terminal this place really fits the bill. Next door to a major mall with greats restaurants ( we ate at Waggamomma). Short taxi ride from train or bus station, and cruise ship very close by. Had to pay for Internet and breakfast.
Very close to all locations we wanted to see. Very clean, good staff, very reasonable price.
The location was great. A short taxi ride from the cruise terminal; right next to a shopping center; short walk to the Old Town and historical sites; 15 minute taxi ride to airport. The staff was courteous, cordial and accommodating. Our room had an unrequested handicapped bathroom. We found it to be over-sized without enough counter space. The emergency cords at the tub and bedside were a nuisance. We arrived late and were turned away at the restaurant. Reservations required.
Being repeated offered smoking rooms, having booked a non smoking room,(and hasn't the law just changedin relation to smoking!) eventually being offer a room but being told we'd have to move each night, we cut our stay short.
Friendly and effecient staff and very clean hotel Hotel room was very hot. No air conditioning or fan.
Showers in leisure club need cleaning
Good price and convienience for overnight stay following formal dinner in other Southampton hotel. Did not stay for breakfast as felt that cost too high.
all the staff were very good and friendly I thought the meals were a bit on the pricey side compered to our local restaurants every thing else was brilliant The fridge wasn,t working which didn,t really matter and on an E mail we recieved when we got home said there should have been chocolats and water in the room there wasn,t
Good food Room smelt of smoke/ staleness. V V hot despite aircon on.
Locality was perfect for my requirements. As with most holiday inns. very clean , good facilities. and well mannered staff. no
The location is wonderful. The hotel is a bit on the worn side. It's been updated a bit - but it's still an old Holiday Inn. It could use freshening-up.
it was close to qe2 terminal room cold heating had malfunction in restaurant food unimaginative
Overall was fine. For $235 a night, a "double" bed should not consist of two twin beds pushed together.
From the onset of our stay the staff were very helpful, professional and always had a smile; which in my view is always lovely to have a nice smiley face to welcome you. The room was spotless, very comfy beds, choice of hard or soft pillows (nice touch). The complimentary coffee, tea etc were stocked well (very useful first thing in the morning for a nice cup of tea) The bar area with two big screen tv's was always immaculate and again the staff could not be faulted at all. We had a lovely swim in the pool which is opposite the hotel and again the staff in there were so friendly and accomodating. We did not eat in the hotel at all and so we cannot comment about that side at all. A hotel worth staying in again.
