Making me rethink my SWA loyalty
Pros: The crew was alright - not great, not bad. It had been a rough day for them, too.
Cons: We were caught in the Southwest computer snafu in July, which made everything worse. All of Southwest's hotels that were eligible for vouchers were sold out in Chicago, and while we could have taken our delayed original flight (only 3 hours late) we were told we'd miss our connection (it turns out the connection was canceled later.) We were rebooked to 2-connections/3-flights (OMA-MDW-BNA-BOS) in order to get us to our destination about 18 hours late.
The plane from BNA to BOS was a 737-300 without wifi (originally the plane was supposed to have wifi, but in the reshuffle of planes, we got the old one.)
The worst part of this leg was that our plane took off on time, but touched down in Boston about 25 minutes late, and then Southwest didn't have any gates available so we had to wait on the Tarmac for about 40 minutes, breathing air that smelt of jet exhaust.
