The hotel is on the site of the monastery of les Minimes, and it sits at the foot of the promontory on which the royal Chateau d'Amboise was built. I want to be clear that Alexandre was a great staff person. The breakfast is described as continental, but there is ham for protein and a very complete selection of bread, pastry, yogurt, cheeses, and more. Genteel and elegant.
Pros: The decor and the location were great! The decor was beautiful and elegant. Our views were of the royal Chateau and of the Loire. Exquisite!
Cons: One staff person ignored the guests as much as possible. Alexandre, the staff person who greeted us and who was there for half the time we were there, was always pleasant, helpful, efficient, and delightful. The other staff person was not.
