10.0 Excellent
Pros: I can't rate this place highly enough. Our hosts were charming and friendly, and Alan was a baker who baked fresh biscuits for us on arrival, then scones every morning and a lovely breakfast. The room was more a suite, with lots of light and beautifully decorated with views of famland and sea from every room. At night Gill provided us with plates and knives and forks so we could eat inside, and watch the sun set through our windows.
Cons: I loved everything!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed for 11 nights which was no problem. Gill and Alan are lovely, caretaking, kind and all you could wish for. The food is amazing. Breakfast at the moment includes fruits, joghurt, homemade scones and bread and afterwards you can choose one of several freshly made meals - a more than solid start to the day. From this location you can explore all of clare and even further and the both helped us to plan and find where to go. Everything was clean at every point. We met wonderful people which we will of course visit again. The price is fair. The rooms are big and beautiful. Just in front of the house is a beautiful walk and a beach to swim at. All in all we had a wonderful time, thanks to Gill and Alan. Aisha and Markus ❤

And Gill with her sweetness and being our breakfast host each morning. There is a menu to choose from as well as the fresh scones and bread that has just been made plus a bowl of fruit and yoghurt each. They explain what there is to do when you arrive with a supply of brochures and a map. The ocean view from the bedroom was amazing and it was one of the homely places we've stayed. Armada Hotel - Miltown Malbay - Building
9
8.9 Excellent (1,164 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Wonderful holiday memories come in many forms. For some, it’s a buzzy summer seaside holiday; for others, the russet-tinged tranquility of an autumn weekend away. There is even wonder in watching a raging winter storm from a cosy vantage, by a crackling fire, hot drink in hand. Wonderful memories are created at The Armada Hotel. Maybe it’s our perfect location - Spanish Point in Co Clare epitomises what the Wild Atlantic Way is all about - vast skies over breathtaking Atlantic views, salt breezes whetting the appetite for an abundance of local seafood, walking the nearby Cliffs of Moher or a short spin to the Burren or Loop Head. Maybe it’s our luxury - breathtaking bedroom views; or dining in The Ocean Bar, Johnny Burkes Bar or The Pearl Restaurant; the sensory delights of the freshest seafood paired with locally sourced vegetables and our own homemade pantry products - desserts, jams, breads.... Maybe it’s how you’ll spend wonderful days here - walking, caving, golfing, rockclimbing; or kayaking, surfing, paddleboarding... Maybe it’s the annual thrill of the Armada Festival of Music and Dancing, during the world-renowned Wille Clancy Summer School festival; or the craic of a trad music session in Johnny Burkes all year round. Maybe it’s our unique wedding packages, earning us the title Hotel Venue of the Year for Ireland in the 2015 Weddings Online Awards or our warm, friendly, thorough staff Isn’t it time that you created wonderful memories with us? The Armada Hotel - the Sights, Sounds and Tastes of West Clare on the Atlantic’s Edge

Pros: The sea and coastal view from the room was spectacular, the included breakfast wonderful too, very tasty with everything we wanted all served in a dining room overlooking the sea. 8.3 Excellent
Pros: The Central Hostel was a great spot that we were able to book at short notice for New Year. It suited us perfectly to explore the west coast, catch up with each other over food and drink in the town in the evenings, and have a good base from which to go from.
Cons: Hostels are hostels, and so as long as you expect a hostel in a quiet area, you will be fine! Minor things like clean tea-towels in the kitchen, and a public area where we could stay up til the small hours of the morning (beyond what the bar opened), might have been added bonuses, but we loved our stay.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We were meant to be camping and it was pouring the hostel was only 16 euro more than the campsite for a twin room, it was also the cheapest in the area.
Cons: The entrance and stairway was a bit dark, but the room was bright and fresh.

Pros: Great place and friendly stafd
4.6 Okay
Pros: The location is good.
Cons: Noise. Not clean. Rooms are extremely small with broken furniture. Price way too high for what little value they offer. Breakfast was self serve with barely any groceries (stale cornflakes and milk) Look for a different place to stay if you can.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff so nice and friendly . Good location , pub downstairs and have nice home made food if you feeling lazy or have kitchen if want to do it own .
Cons: Walls paper thin
7.9 Good
Pros: Check in process was swift and location in centre of town was excellent. Beaches nearby as were other amenities. Bed was comfortable and a small selection of restaurants nearby was good. Check out was also very easy.
Cons: Breakfast was cold and it was evident it had been cooked for a while. The hostel was not busy so there is no reason not to cook a fresh breakfast. This was disappointing. There were also issues in the evening with regard to the price of drinks. One member of staff would charge the apparent correct rate and another lady charged more and this was a constant thing. There is no way of getting into the hostel after 3:30 am as the staff must...this can prove difficult due to the lack of taxis from surrounding areas.
9.2 Excellent
Cons: we had a room above the pub & there was a dj playing loud music which didnt help us to fall asleep.
