Pros: Thomas Wright House was outstanding in all aspects i.e. Value for money, very friendly staff, great English breakfast. We also had dinner on our first night which was delicious and would have ate there on all three nights we stayed but as we were visiting relatives we dined with them. Our room was very comfortable and pristine, the whole hotel looked as if it had been recently redecorated. Plus there was plenty of parking on site. Very highly recommended

Pros: Good stop off on way to the Northeast. Friendly staff. Good breakfast choices. Free parking. Great shower. Comfortable bed.
Cons: Would have been great to have some ventilation in restaurant it was very airless and smokey from food cooking at tables which was unpleasant. No individual shampoo shower gel etc only large bottles fixed to wall. Very small towels in bathroom. Uncomfortable pillows.
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a gem of a find - as was the owner, Esther. The premises were spotlessly clean, the rooms were tastefully furnished and decorated and the food of a high standard. But it was the delightful Esther who made the stay with her effervescence, sunny attitude and remarkable can-do approach encompassing all the qualities which breeds success. She has a fantastic personality which translates into a business which sets the standard. We will be back. George and Fiona

10.0 Excellent
Pros: A rustic but modern style property, with lovley lounge you could use in the evenings as well. Amazing home cooked breakfast. And warm friendly staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I suspect this is a recent barn conversion or extension, and has been done superbly well to a very high standard. At the reception desk there was a plate of small muffin type cakes and squares of brownie - absolutely delicious - and also a bowl of fruit. A nice welcome touch. Breakfast was superb - buffet style with bacon, egg etc to order, and the large room was available all day for reading/relaxation - useful for rainy days, although fortunately we had no need to take advantage. One suspects that there will be a log fire in Winter. The bedroom was clean, warm and comfortable with a large double bed and a good shower. No IKEA furniture here!
Cons: While the buffet breakfast had a surfeit of good things, the cooked menu might be considered a trifle sparse - kippers and porridge were not in evidence, for instance, but it would be only the super critical to mark this down against the excellence of all else.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable clean room. Great facilities. Very friendly staff.

Pros: B&B very well located for our visit to family and easy access to North-Yorkshire moors. The breakfast was excellent and the staff also. There was a basket with cakes and fruit on the counter in reception and everybody could help themselves. These little extras make a lot of difference. The breakfast room/lounge is very comfortable with windows looking out onto the surrounding fields with grazing sheep.
Cons: The bedroom was a little on the small side (no long mirror).

1.0 Poor
Cons: Room 12 is dark and cold- no bottom in one of the drawers, over basin light not working in bathroom. Solution to cold room was a red industrial type blow heater placed on dressing table.Mini bar frig empty and not switched on-useless waste of space. Not a deluxe double room by any stretch of the imagination. Receptionist very nice but could not offer an acceptable replacement and said she would take room 12 out of commission. We came home after one night such a shame.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The settings and my children loved feeding the deer
Cons: Couple of TV channels didn’t work, we didn’t get rooms next to each other
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Your staff were lovely, extremely helpful and friendly, esp the lovely lady behind the bar (from Cambridge originally) our meal in the bar was also lovely and really couldn't of asked for anything more. An ideal location while my daughter competed gymnastics in spennymoore.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent. The bed was superb. The staff were very attentive and helpful. Well done.
Cons: The room was good, but could have been better. The bathroom heater did not work, BBC channels did not work, the tile’s in the bathroom around the shower required a good clean and no biscuits!! The music in the restaurant, at breakfast was terrible and too load. The waitress did kindly turn it down.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Whilst the decor is very outdated in a very victorian, opulent kind of way, the hotel is a lovely establishment nestled in the middle of a beautiful deer park. The rooms are extremely comfortable and the breakfast was delicious and cheap (for a londoner !!!). The staff was really really nice and welcoming and I recommend this hotel highly for anyone. We were going to Durham to take our son to Uni and this was a lovely little break en route !!

Pros: Location was excellent, right in the middle of town. Cottage was small but well furnished. Have to bring all your own food, however Sainsbury is only 1 minute away.
Cons: No lock on the toilet/ bathroom door. We asked for receipt of payment - were promised it would be posted through door, however this never happened.
7.9 Good
Pros: Location is fantastic, down one of yarms charming wynds between high St and river. The house has great character.
Cons: Needs a lick of paint (although it was very clean). Any attempt to make toast (even with doors and windows open) sets off the smoke alarm!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It was in a very convenient location in the middle of Yarm High Street, perfect for our evening out
Cons: The radiator came on & meant it was a bit too warm so we had to open the windows- not a big problem though. It was a nice room with kettle/tea etc, nothing luxurious but met our needs very well

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff lovely and helpful
5.8 Okay
Cons: I stayed one night and no hot water in room. Reception sent me another room in morning on different floor. No hotwater in this room! They advised me they could not fix it before 9am, which was totally inconvenient for a business day
7.9 Good
Pros: Good breakfast, good sized room, good shower (over bath) Short walk to main street with pubs and eateries
Cons: It was quite busy road outside on arrival but quiet after rush hour until about 7am Noise of a fan or central heating system outside my room all night
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The bar and restaurant were very good. Fantastic cooked breakfast
Cons: Unfortunately on the evening there was an issue with the hot water for the shower. This was rectified for the morning.
7.0 Good
Pros: It’s location
Cons: 12 dead wasps on the floor of the room and bathroom
5.0 Okay
Pros: We got a free coffee
Cons: The bed was about big enough to fit my 11 week old gold fish in and the room was about a hot as sitting in the sauna yous own, the damp in the room has give me asthma I think and my back tooth fell out when I bit into one of your cookies that was stale and out of day, the staff were lovely mind not one of them bothered us, infact it’s almost like they ignored us, I like the way they let you stand at the bar for 10 minutes to choose your drink before anyone shows up to serve you, I also like how they serve you FLAT coke to stop you getting trapped wind! There was no smoking shelter so when I went out to have a quick smokey and a 10 minute cool down I got soaking wet, it’s nice because once I got back I could get a shower to warm up, in the shower was so relaxing, actually that relaxing I could slip over as there was NO bath mat, the breakfast... well what could I say about that? Nothing actually as there was not enough seats for us to go and try it, don’t worry we enjoyed our food in Sainsbury’s cafe, all in all I’ll give it a solid 3 out of 10 for the simple fact I didn’t have to clean the sheets after I finished bonking, so thanks for the Stay but I’ll not be back
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff - evening meal food was amazing. Hotel put on an early breakfast for those of us running The Great North Run, which was very much appreciated.
Cons: Building needs a bit of TLC - particularly in the main entrance room. Peeling wallpaper and look of damp/water damage is a bit off putting for first impressions.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: very good breakfast good selection great customer service from the staff
Cons: nothing not to like
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast - very comfy rooms ..
Cons: We had a lunch one day of our stay and the bread used for our sandwich was a bog standard thin brown slice .... it would have been so much nicer had they used a thick sliced uncut loaf ... this would have made the lunch much tastier ... I felt the price was quite expensive for what we had ..
